how did you come up with making Entre? What inspired you?

okay story time w chase ahem

so actually how i got into tumblr at all is very relevant to the chain of events that led to entre existing. so before here, i was mainly on a...particular art webbed site that was basically a sinking ship circa: 2010 so i forgot how i heard about tumblr? but i joined here at first just to do naruto comm rp. like my only account was a naruto rp account for the first... i dont remember how long

eventually i got curious enough to make a personal account and started being active on that. a bunch of my friendgroup from the other site moved with me and we were just hanging out being naruto nerds. at some point i got into homestuck/learned about the askblog format. i don't remember which came first, but i DID run kibanaru and flutterdash askblogs before the lorax was a blip on my radar

i remember when i was in the homestuck fandom, i was so used to the naruto fandom where like..sure it's huge but i had established myself in a corner of it and it felt very like... it was a community! and in the homestuck fandom i didn't feel like that at all. i felt swept out to sea and it was very lonely tbh aside from the friends id manage to drag with me into it, but i always felt a certain dissatisfaction from my time in it

a friend of mine was the one to show me the lorax and the once-ler. i don't...remember how THEY found him, but they were already very into him before they even came to me about him. and they basically nagged me into watching the movie LMFAO (this was when the movie was still freshly in theaters so all we had was shitty camrips and LiveStream was a thing) so i started to draw smexy onceler and oncest fanart to mess with them and...well y'know ye olde saying about doing things as a joke.

so yeah i kinda got...genuinely interested in him. especially after i watched the 72' short and reread the book and was like wait. this movie is mid as hell actually. (the siren song of mid media) and i was like "well if /i/ wrote the movie id do this n this n this n this" and then all that added up in my head and i was like wait.

what if i did a once-ler askblog where i just change certain things to what i like? it wasnt gonna be a complete revamp/remastering because i wanted to do a proper askblog so i wanted to have his character be recognizable to any fans of the onceler. and this was wayyyyy before anyone was getting the idea to do the very creative and expansive onceler takes we have these days as a norm. so it was kinda like? being shoehorned into being Canon!Once-ler because?? that's just how you did askblogs back then

BUT!! there were a few other askblogs already around back then (end of April 2012 for ref) so i didn't wanna do what everyone else was doing (very much Established Business Once-ler/Greed-ler, Vest-ler/Oncie, or Aftermath Once-ler) so i got the idea to do the onceler but! he's still very fresh and new to his business. still basically vest-ler/oncie in personality but with big things on the horizon.

i started creating his blog the weekend before may. that's why his birthday is May 1 because that's when i officially started his blog and posted his first post and all that. literally when he was born.

so yeah this was all to try and find my niche in a community again as well as do what i'd already been doing for years now: waving my headcanons in ppls faces via my art LMFAO

it was honestly pretty new for me in a bunch of ways so it was very scary. i even tried to keep it a total secret at first. i thought people wouldn't recognize me for my art style.... (yeah idk how i thought that'd work either) and i mean??? for the most part that was true because it's not like anyone in the once-ler fandom would've known me beforehand anyways

so for the first uhhh...idk it didn't last long tho..i was a secret mod, but i got too itchy about sharing art that i didn't wanna put on his blog so i broke that pretty quick. i had a lot of personal rules i put on myself on what to do/not to do on and with his blog. and i still, to this day, follow a handful of them. so when i drew other stuff that i didn't think fit on his blog, i was like well damn i wish i could show this somehow...

tho sometimes i wish i'd tried to keep up the secret mod shtick a little longer

anywho. from there it's kinda like..he really just grew on his own. new ideas, new inspiration, new experiences shaping this or that. now i can write him without touching him for years like i just picked him up yesterday. he's that wormed in my damn brain at this point. he's basically his own person sitting in my head telling me what to do with him/what he'd say

so yeah at first? it was just me trying to write a very accurate 2012 movie onceler with a few tweaks. and then he just grew organically into what he is now. that's still his root and so that's still the default direction i try to take, but he definitely has a lot of things that make him his own person at this point too. even on his main blog.

as for why he's so stupid goofy. well. that's because i like drawing dumb expressions. the end. and in the end i'm glad his main blog remained super unserious and lighthearted because it really helped me mentally a bunch (those random spikes in activity? yeah it was for my own mental health LMFAO he helps me...a lot...because of the escapism and comedy)

bonus: as for truffula flu entre. i don't remember if something in particular inspired me to make him the ender of the world. i just felt like it'd be a fitting story for the once-ler for him to be in that spot. and from there i just approached him how i thought someone like him would react were he to find himself in that position.

my goal was always to make him as human as possible. like he's technically the villain of this story, but he's also the protagonist. yaknow. so i wanted to really interweave those two ideas interestingly into his character (and now im obsessed w it)

originally i thought of truffula flu as everyone doing their own storylines. i didn't expect at all that everyone would adopt MINE as all of THEIR canons. that was LKFJSLDKF a big surprise for me i was like wait what. i guess it seems silly now in retrospect that i didn't expect that, but i was just like "well this is entre's story. ppl can do whatever else they want tho" but suddenly entre's story was everyone's story. and it's pretty cool i can't lie

my god, the mention of your homestuck days took me back. im a remnant from the artists included in that short lived whole cast askblog i cant remember if you organized or were just a part of. checks the date. 6 YEARS AGO

SUPERGIANT ROUNDUP BASTION / TRANSISTOR / PYRE / HADES

compiling thoughts on games ive played. i may go back and edit these over time bc i like to ramble and maybe ill have a thought later about things to add. woo

🌟 BASTION (2011) | 10/10 4 million stars

THE game of all time. i think i bought and played this when the indie humble bundle (one of the first of its kind) slapped it together with limbo, psychonauts, amnesia and sword and sorcery (i have the art jen zee drew to advertise that on my wall still).

remarkable then and now for being a game i replayed like a madman and loved soooooo muuuuuuuuuch its ridiculous. the art direction will always be very impactful on me i think, jen zee i love ur stuff 4ever <3333333 the music is also still incredible, spike in a rail is iconic as ever, and logan cunningham's voice will always hit perfectly on the ears as rucks. this game was also the first major fandom i was in on this site and it could fit inside one tinychat lol, i have retained alot of the friendships i made from it back then, its an experience i can never untie from the actual game.

ive always liked isometric smash and whack games, most likely due to this games influence on me, but it was also just... one of the first big games i loved as a budding tween, so almost everything about i think with fondess, im recalling how the upgrade areas looked like rn and its making me smile. i made an askblog about a character from this game, we made a physical fanbook that got handed to devs at a con (i think the vid of them reacting to it is now lost to time) its deep bro its deep in my bones.

bastion's story i still also enjoy as dour as it is, and the choice at the end, between continuing the cycle of apocalyptic doom or build a new future with the remains, its still interesting to me. relive the past before it goes wrong and experience the fresh pain over and over or move on with grave of genocide ringing in your ears and the cunt of an old man on the same floating rock with you. augh!

🌟 TRANSISTOR (2014) | 6/10 stars it is a game and i think that's great

played this game front to back full the day it came out on my mothers computer and cried like a bitch at the end while liveblogging it. to this day i remember the combat being too much for my stupid little brain to comprehend and would get my ass beat constantly but the jen zee art and sword boyfriend and my loyalty to SG kept the brain alive.

MAYBE it would less of a pain in the ass for me to play now but the plotting out before you enforce the combo hurt my brain. i dont think ahead okay. ow. ow.

As with all SG games the art was incredible though they drew from really interesting influences for a sci fi take, and this ost with the addition of a bunch more vocal tracks (due to red being a singer) is sooo good. i have a version of the album of the glitched out versions of the songs ripped from the gameplay, delicious nyam nyam.

the story is like a traditional tragedy and the first showing of some great supergiant #buryyourgays but i still cry like a baby listening to paper boats so FML !!!!!!!!! i think that song affects me more than setting sail / coming home from bastion actually at this point (time to go find the orchestra pax vid and loop it)

🌟 PYRE (2017) | 9/10 starsies supergiant youve done it again

i liked pyre like 10 steps more than transistor its not even funny 😂 the world has a more fantasy leaning bent... the ensemble cast too.... and the gameplay i love this gameplay i will play ghost spirit basketball all fucking dayyyyyyyyyy also this is alot closer to a visnov than the rest of their games, between the sports parts, this is also probably why i really like it, who doesn't love it when their choices matter and little guys talk to them. visnovs are great.

i also just favour weirdo fantasy > over weirdo sci fi this is pure personal taste lmao. the environments were fun, the conceit of the game was interesting too. making the choice of who to liberate not only be a factor based on who you like and the story but ALSO the gameplay bc you no longer get to play them.... i remember i kept hedwyn around bc i liked him as a character and also bc he was the all rounder class but i did let him go before the end bc i wanted to give him that chance despite never seeing him again... that sort of experience with a character i love is rareeee, ive not had anything like it since. is it better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all..............wohah.............

i also just love the fake language they came up with for people talking, reading being a big deal here also.... so much about this games worldbuilding i loved it i loved it. i think my only issues would be the amount of forced het in the endings people can get lmao I DONT NEED EVERYONE TO GET HAPPILY STRAIGHT MARRIED SG LMFAO.

i have played this game for 250+ hours and 100 of those were during the entire time it was in early access the brain disease real alive and killing me to this day.

genius of SG i think to stretch their storytelling out to be way longer by putting into a rougelike its such a fun idea and it works so well bc of how finely tuned their gameplay always is. they incentivize the right things and the feel is addictive, you wanna get to the characters bc they're always the best part but the gameplay on the way is like butter, ENDLESS GRIND ENDLESS GRIND. GAME YOU PLAY UNTIL YOU DIE

i like that this story ended up being a dumb greek family drama, i dont have many more thoughts about that aspect though honestly bc i dont really care about greek gods as a setting and i always enjoy SG's original ideas and worlds alot more behehe. their remixes are no doubt fun though.

there's something to be said about the violent catharsis of being killed over and over to leave family i think, im sure i could write some metaphor here about having to confront hatred in loved ones over a choice about yourself actually just feels like dying over and over (im a poet) especially when you still live with them.

i think i actually for real cried the first time zag met his mother like the music and the va, it was all so tragic and sad, i dont think anything else really met that emotional high for me. i was almost surprised later on how happily the game resolves lol but i dont have any qualms with stories about fucked up families actually fixing their problems, hope for the future or something.. ! not all blood ties have to be burned to cinders, its a nice thing.

thanatos is my girlboss boyfriend also i cannnnnoooooootttttt believe they made him a tsundere sadboy who acts like you broke up with him MINUTE ONE OF MEETING THE MAN IN THE FUCKING GAME WHAT IS WRRRRONG WITYH YOUUUU SG YOU SICK FUCKS. i actually puked in my mouth everytime they talked and i was explicitly seeking it out. god of death and god of blood (life) can you go fuck yourselves ACTUALLY.

Like, what are your headcanons about his relationship with Sans and/or Gaster?? I remember you talking about some but I would LOVE to hear more, maybe his relationship with Undyne too, hell, even Alphys, Toriel... Papyrus is such and interesting character

OHOHOHOH BOY DO I HAVE HEADCANONS

putting this under a cut because BOY HOWDY IT'S GOTTEN LONG. you asked for this

okay so first of all. i am in love with Dadster and it is definitely a weak spot for me.

anyway. relationship with Sans. They're fantastic brothers! they care about each other a whole lot, and get along perfectly great. However, they're both allergic to communication and there's a LOT of stuff they keep from each other. It kinda strains their relationship a little bit at times (but it still doesn't change the fact that they are siblings and care about each other a whole lot). There might be times Papyrus grows so frustrated that he leaves to go tend to his puzzles in the snowy woods or train with undyne in waterfall for the whole day, or times where Sans just can't deal with things and hides away at grillbys or in his room or various other places around the underground. But they still end up coming home to each other, because they're family, family that's there in reach and they care about each other.

relationship with Gaster can get a little more,, vague. varied. etc. I have headcanons and i have other headcanons for if things were different in this way,, theres so much u can take into account or whatever. so much you can do here.

The Big One is obviously dadster. or even grampster!! I like to thing that Gaster was a loving guardian. Maybe not the Best, he was probably occupied with his job a whole lot and tended to lose track of time, and all that. But he was also very caring and loving, sweet. Papyrus loved him, and he was a sense of safety for him. He taught papyrus all about puzzles and mechanics, until papyrus was old enough to really get into things by himself, and then he taught papyrus how to get the most out of researching. Papyrus relied on him as a support a whole lot, so when Gaster was inevitably Gone, that support crumbled and he ended up having a really hard time for a hot minute. bonus hard time if you do the everyone-forgetting-gaster thing. (if you wanna, ehehn,hg, if you wanna see some stuff i've written for my askblog about papyrus right after gaster got shattered and everyone forgot about him. here.)

but if you DONT do dadster/grampster there's! theres still plenty of things you can think about! He's definitely got Gaster Blasters, so at the very least they have SOME kind of connection. But also, papyrus LOVES puzzles. he says all sorts of weirdly mysterious things sometimes, and never ever says anything about his past at all. He knew gaster somehow. Was Gaster a mentor to him, like how a lot of people headcanon with sans and alphys? Did Papyrus work at the CORE, that massive awesome shifting puzzle of an energy generator?

If he was a mentor to papyrus, I think (again, sweet old man though VERY eccentric) he just. found monsters and effectively adopted them as his interns. sans, alphys, papyrus, etc. the other gaster followers even, perhaps. Papyrus grew Very close to gaster, looked up to him a whole lot because like. gaster was THE guy. Everyone knows about the CORE and its puzzle bits and that's SUCH an incredible feat, entire ROOMS shifting and changing. And gaster was impressed by papyrus's enthusiasm, brought him under his wing. (heh. heheh). Found out about Sans and his own interests in quantum physics and took him in as an intern as well! Alphys and Papyrus ended up bonding over mechanical engineering. science buddies :> Since sans, papyrus, and Gaster were all skeletons, gaster decided to teach them how to use his gaster blaster attack. he didn't have any children of his own, so maybe it was a way to pass on his legacy in a different way than his inventions, who knows.

But, inevitably, gaster is shattered across time and space. relationships grow strained, there might be a bit of forgetting for all parties involved. it's a mess, and it messes up alphys, sans, and papyrus. None of them can really remember gaster or each other, it's confusing and upsetting and they end up not really talking to each other (sans and alphys keep in touch a little more, though)

OR you could go the papyrus is gaster route!! THATS fun. consider! Papyrus hates hotland (bad experiences?), the CORE is a Giant puzzle, papyrus is described as "forgettable" he always seems to want to be paid attention to, to be memorable, for people to acknowledge him,,, He NEver talks about his past. the association with gaster and hands, and papyrus never taking off his gloves. the gaster blasters. Besties with Flowey Somehow!! what does it mean, what does it MEAN-

ahem.

As for just Canon undertale unrelated to any of the dizzying gaster nonsense!

His relationship with undyne is honestly SO fantastic, despite the flaws. First time they meet each other papyrus is knocking on her door in the middle of the night. what an impression. BUT THEN in the morning when he Still hasn't gone away she isn't weirded out like i feel like most people would be, she's just as weird as him in a lot of ways and is impressed with his dedication! She agrees to train him.

They're!!! BESTIES. sobs. She really respects him, and his capabilities! she acknowledges that holy Crap he's really freaking strong, and they both regularly exchange banter on the phone calls and tease each other all the time. sometimes papyrus is so deadpan she doesn't realize he may or may not be joking, but it's no biggie.

but she also knows that papyrus would never, ever kill someone. He doesn't have it in him. and that's not a bad thing! far from it, really. BUT. The royal guard's purpose is to capture humans and their souls. Which would inevitably involve killing him. And she wouldn't ever want to force him to do something like that, no matter how strong of a fighter he is. Of course, She could have just told him that instead of hiding the fact that she wasn't going to let him in the guard, distracting him with different kinds of training and such, but. She can see how much he wants this, and she really really doesn't want to break his heart like that. she just can't hurt her friend that way, so she ends up procrastinating and distracting him.

and papyrus cares about her so much as well! i think it took a while for him to realize that he and undyne were actually friends, and initially when he Did realize it he was really tentative about it. But soon enough, they were complete Besties as nature intended. fish and skeleton. He definitely had a fair bit of hero worship for her at first, but that quickly went away once he saw her being completely hopeless over alphys. and various other silly things that made her so much more real as a person.

she's loud and sometimes has problems regulating her emotions and can be kinda awkward in social situations or not realize things that might be obvious and has intense obsessions and is very passionate about the things she loves! just like papyrus! she is also autistic just like him. they're buddies.

UHHHH

ALPHYS!!!! OH HOW I DESPERATELY WANT THEM TO BE BESTIES.

in the underground, he only really knows her through the various times they've both been hanging with undyne, but mostly online. They've definitely friended each other. Alphys gave him that tile puzzle, of course they know each other at least a Little bit! and papyrus commenting on her undernet posts, etc etc etc. She might think he's kinda weird, but who is she to judge. she watches anime all day and collects mew mew merch, or even makes her own. So maybe papyrus talks a little funny, is a little loud sometimes, and a bit too eager sometimes. So is Mettaton. She's just got weird friends and thats just fine.

Once they get onto the surface, they start interacting face to face a Lot more, and start bonding over puzzles and mechanical engineering and all that fun stuff. Eventually they have inventing sessions once a week where they meet up and just make random stuff. it's great. sometimes undyne comes around as emotional support and makes stuff too (explosions). whenever sans shows up all he does is be difficult but he leaves and there's like. stuff like his joke-quantumphysics-joke-quantumphysics book.

They also bond over being more than a bit socially awkward, and after a while alphys learns to be a bit more open around papyrus because it doesn't seem like it at first but he can really relate to a lot of stuff. The pressure of doing everything right, the social expectations the--

they are both autistic basically and they fire autism buddies beams at each other subconsciously until they achieve autism to autism communication.

Toriel! At first she only knows him through sans, but she can tell that sans cares about him very very much. He often talks about how smart papyrus is, about how determined he can be and just how cool he is. And once she and papyrus really start to get to know each other, he's delighted to learn about the puzzles in the ruins. he asks about their upkeep and how they work and she's happy to answer.

She's probably the one that can tell the easiest when he needs a hug or when he needs some sort of distraction or just a kind smile, out of all of his friends. instincts she has honed from being a guardian to so many people and also shes just like that. They actually have a lot of discussions about all sorts of topics, even if one or the other doesn't really know much. they're conversation buddies.

papyrus admits that he only hates sans's jokes and thats just because they're siblings, and they start making all sorts of jokes at each other. but not when sans is near. she would never upset the sanctity of sibling animosity.

After a while of knowing each other, papyrus awkwardly asks if he can just,, touch her hand, for the sake of touching her hand. he explains that her fur looks so very soft, and he's wanted to feel it ever since they met, even if it might sound really weird. but she says she understands completely, with a knowing smile, and lets him feel the softness of her fur, making sure that she doesn't think it's weird at all. After all, exploring the world around you through texture is a wonderful thing! textures are very fascinating, and it's amazing how some can be so incredibly good, but similar textures can be terrible. Papyrus absolutely lights up at this, and she's glad she can make him smile so genuinely.

Ambassador papyrus stuff,,, because i am a Sucker for that,. she teaches him a lot about being an ambassador, and various leadership stuff, and she's proud of how quickly he picks things up. there's definitely stumbling, and she can tell he's got a fair bit of social anxiety that he's hiding, but he keeps on going. She's glad she can call him her friend, and when she tells him that one day he can't help but tear up and giver her a big hug. Wowie! she cares about HIM, personally, not just what he does and his jokes and his personality, but all of him.

in conclusion this has been an unsubtle pushing my "everyone in undertale is autistic" agenda and also papyrus has a lot more friends than he might believe he does.

I am only capable of writing 1 story at a time so I’m basically holding off on uh everything until this blog is done. I am very excited to get to write more for my other AUs. Like my “New eden” au which is like the sides happening to meet at a specialized inpatient and there’s loceit and rem(2) and angst and stuff. And I got 2 others i’m excited for bc they’ve got lots of worldbuilding and i havent done much of that in my writing but when i made those AUs i realized i really dig worldbuilding. Jfkfk the one stucky fic i wrote at like 12. In 1 chapter i put in a self insert and had cap validate my non binaryness. Apparently i thought it was so embarasing i have deleted several chapters from it but i dont remember actually doing that

Front to back babeyyyy always. Sometimes i scribble down a future scene so i dont forget it but otherwise its all first scene to last

I really did enjoy writing Roman as Jaws in my James Bond au just bc it was such a stupid concept. I also have a soft spot for my son Envy. Before Remus existed Envy was my green side. I always have to have music on or i cant concrentate. Cant even sit in the same room as other people while writing if theyre chatting loudly

Bro i used to over explain everrryyythhing. I know i still ramble a lot and put in way too many details in my writing but somehow i used to be even worse!! I also was one of those who wrote like "The boy with the round glasses said" instead of just saying their goddamn names

Uhm everything? Jk. But i really do think that writing in of itself isn’t my strong suit. I always feel like i use the same words too much. The same metaphors. Same flowery texts. My grammar isn’t good either.

....I.......I just remember it.......in my head...I know, i’m horrible. I have tried to write up timelines but it never works for me. Sometimes I use the brainstorms with my bestie on discord as a type of timeline but most of the time I do just keep everything in my brain. Which is stupid bc my memory sucks

20) do you write in long sit-down sessions or in little spurts?

I really wanna say i prefer longer sit downs but the thing is my attention span is shit so it usually becomes me “writing” for like 3 hours but half the time was spent watching youtube

Girl ive looked up the most random shit. Different types of mazes, hotels in kentucky, etc. But really i wouldnt say im an expert on these things but i appreciate how much fics have made me learn about different disabilities. i do have chronic pain and some other shit which has made me put in disabled sides in my fics but its not like i have fibro or im deaf or have a brain injury so i have to read up on this stuff and it’s genuinly fascinating to learn. My fics have also let me learn a lot more about different cultures, in this AUs case i’ve learnt a lot about judaism to write the twins C: i would love to write romani sides in the future bc my family is partially romani but until i do that i like putting in that jewish rep. the fandom needs it hfkjhf

I am taking on a project. Where i recreate my first ever terraria worlds from mobile 1.1 and 1.2 on terraria mobile for kindle fire from about 7 years ago but in pc 1.4 terraria and also using tedit

So far ive mapped out the locations of all the important structures i built as well as specific locations that Mean A Lot To Me and have pics of the whole map (tho i dont rly care abt making like the caves n shit accurate its mostly the surface and structures in relation to each other) and listed them out. heres some uhh quirks i found/remembered abt old mobile worlds

first some things that dont require pics:

- my guide’s name in my first world was Eva and i remember me n my friend being stoked about how i apparently had a trans guide bc of her name <3 i still have no idea how and Why it gave the guide that name, i think it was only in 1.1 because the world i made when 1.2 came out that i got to hardmode in, i never got a guide with that name after beating the wall a buncha times (as evidenced by the number of purple boxes in hell), nor was it ever on the wiki page for npc names. i still love eva and i will put a cameo of her somewhere in my askblog which you should check out asks are open @moon-lords-pawn​ <3

- if you pause while standing near a bubble machine you can see it keep making bubbles at the normal rate, but none of them like go anywhere. once you unpause they all go flying n it looks super cool w all these bubbles exploding out of the machine

- terraria crashed 14 times and i closed it myself 1 time but i think thats a fault of my kindle being Seven Years Old

- i dont think you can dye accessories! how sad

- cloud saved worlds saved to google drive, but i think before that was changed in 2016? there was a diff service it used and i have NO idea what it was called but i didnt have an account with whatever it was, so it basically meant more world space. i had one world called archery and i think i wrote about it for a writing assignment in 5th grade, pretty sure it also involved herobrine somewhere in there. anyway w the google drive cloud save it just had you sign in with google plus (so, obv, doesnt work anymore RIP) and saved your world and player files to a google drive folder. i still have my folder to this day and it will never leave, and apparently i made undyne as a cloud saved chara and used her a Lot?? and i DONT remember that

- you probably know this one but worlds were ASS SMALL before they introduced “expanded” worlds which i thiiink are just the equivalent of pc small worlds. what i didnt realize was that this also made the dungeon and jungle temple ASS SMALL

OK THIS QUESTION IS SO FUNNY CAUSE LIKE. i dont use this character anymore but. i literally stole my first oc. when i was very young (like 9 years old this was like over a decade ago) i was obsessed w this one youtube animator called superturtlethefirst who had an oc that was a gray cat named sasha, and they made an amv w that character to bring me to life by evanescence where she got possesed by some demon and Did A Murder. and i stole that oc sdkgjdslkgjsdgjkkdsjglkdsglkdsgldsghds (also superturtlethefirst’s channel is still up but be careful if u go there some of the videos have the r slur in the title....its that old)

Malcolm’s voice claim is Ben Folds and i came up with an au of an au with him after listening to Rockin The Suburbs, + he’s a shitty white boy garage band singer in that au. Thuccopith’s voice claim is fucking HEXXUS so. YAKNOW. welp, gang! not only another year is coming to an end, but it also marks the end of a decade. i’ve been drawing for over 10 years now, so i figured i should do a decade of art just to show off my work over the years!

if you want to read my retrospect of each year, it’ll be under the read more! heads up, it is a bit of a doozy.

TL;DR: just all around happy with how much i improved over the years and i can’t wait to see what 2020 will bring!

2009 (11-12 yrs old)      at this point, I’m on my second year of drawing (both traditionally and digitally!) This year mainly consisted of either oc art or drawings of my best friends at the time, but there was some fanarts sprinkled here and there. I also did my first animation piece around this time too tho it’s private now :3c i may show it off one day...

2010 (12-13 yrs old)     I got my first drawing tablet for Christmas 2009 and this is when i went ham on my digital drawings. this year was kinda weird i guess? i started experimenting a more cartoony style on some artworks, though the majority are still anime inspired.

2011 (13-14 yrs old)     ah yes...... the year i found out about homestuck.... well, i found out about it on the second half of the year. the first half was all about my ocs. this was because around this time (or late 2010? i dont remember exactly) i discovered flipnote hatena, where I did tons of animations including my ocs. but once i discovered homestuck, that was all i posted for a while lol. this was also the year I made my tumblr account. oh and I also lost my tablet pen for a few months so some of the drawings from this year were made with a mouse.

2012 (14-15 yrs old)     I started falling out of deviantArt and became more active on tumblr. I mellowed out on the homestuck drawings a bit and posted other stuff. this year was kinda similar to 2010, where my artstyle was kinda all over the place. the second half of the year I discovered a super obscure browser dating sim called Star Project and became a part of the roleplaying community so plenty of my artworks revolved on my muse Souta and the game as a whole. 2013 (15-16 yrs old)     this year was really quiet in terms me posting art. i had been constantly doodling both traditionally and digitally but I never got around to posting the majority of them. this was mainly because I was so busy with school. on the flipside however, I discovered Earthbound and i hecking fell in love with it ♥

2014 (16-17 yrs old)     still relatively quiet but i posted more than 2013 lol. Earthbound drawings galore! i also did posted more oc work, including my gal Usako. I haven’t posted her anywhere in a long time though. i have been redesigning her and i’ll show it off sometime in the future!

2015 (17-18 yrs old)     ahh, here we go! now we’re picking up the pace! i graduated from high school this year and started posting more often. splatoon came out this year and I was constantly drawing them squidkiddies! (tho tbh my rin and len drawing is my fav) this was also the year I got Manga Studio (an older version of Clip Studio Paint) but I still used Paint Tool Sai. this was also the first year i did commissions!

2016 (18-19 yrs old)     this year was really interesting tbh. lots of really neat works and i started to do more backgrounds. this was also the year I (attempted) to do my webcomic! i haven’t updated that thing in a long time tho. I want to reboot it one of these days. but anyways, good mix of fanart and oc works. really, this year was great.

2017 (19-20 yrs old)     this was the year i made this very art blog and my instagram account! (which i haven’t advertised here at all but here’s the link lol) i think it was around this point i found my own artstyle that i want to more or less stick to! of course, it was going to change overtime, but compared to the years prior, my artstyle at this point has been more consistent. this was also the year i attempted to start an oc askblog with a friend of mine but it haven’t gone far ;w; def want to try again one of these days!

2018 (20-21 yrs old)     this year was also really nice! i moved to a new university to get a major in animation. quite a few persona 5 and kingdom hearts drawings here and there since i was like love with both of those games (even tho kh3 wasn’t even out at that point, but i was still hyped omg) i also introduced Cimmaria and Nicktornal for a future story that i’m currently developing! i also made a full move to Clip Studio Paint after Paint Tool Sai wouldn’t load on my new computer.

2019 (21-22 yrs old)    last year of the decade and i left it with quite a bang! I def posted more often. i did missed a few months, but then i would come back with a bunch more works to post! I discovered Artfight from a friend so that kept me busy during the month of july! made a couple more animations too since of course i will be doing more of it for university. 

So, what’s my 2020 art resolution?

Def want to keep posting! try to go for at least 4 artworks per month, one for each week.

experiment more on backgrounds, perspective and composition!

post more oc artworks! i haven’t been posting much about them for the past few years but I really want to change that. there is one oc i am definitely introducing to you all! here’s a hint: it is a Dungeons and Dragons character. I will show them off when the time is right uwu

continue developing on story ideas and sticking to it! i’ve noticed that i usually start on projects only then to drop them later on. I really want to revive them and work on it!

continue working on animation! if all goes well, i’ll be taking animation classes in fall of 2020 so i need to start prepping more!

Bolts down the pitch black hallway, hands out in front of him to stop himself from running into things in the dark. Not having much luck with this and banging into several upturned tables and doors on route. Unsure where he was even going but is able to hear clacking footsteps rapidly approaching. 

Hits a dead end and presses his back against the cold brick wall, glancing around and wishing there was even so much as a window or a crack somewhere to let in some light. Takes a shaky breath as the clacking footsteps continue to approach 

You know you're not supposed to be in here, whoever you are. You're trespassing on my property, I could have you arrested. 

Continues to stare at the blackness before him as the footsteps get closer. 

...You know what. We'll call it even. I'll even hire you to work here for me. Pay you a decent wage. 

Footsteps continue to approach 

...I'm going to be honest with you here, being blind is unnerving me more than it perhaps should and your shoes on the floorboards remind me eerily of the days I stayed here and the horrible matron who would beat you for getting out of bed. I really don't want to remember much of that. So if you could kindly show me the way to- 

Hears the footsteps pause right in front of him, able to feel a chilly breeze like breath against his face. Reaches out to try to grab the stranger and yelps as something hard smacks his wrist

Reaches his other hand out to grab and feels it happen again but harder, hard enough to draw a little blood on his wrist.

Hears crashing and banging, hears Barnum yelling and goes searching Phineas? Where are you?

That's a good idea. They'll probably like it if you keep talking. -small smirk- or singing, if you'd rather. -starts sorting through her bag. Takes out two small pouches, and a bundle of incense.- It's probably been a while since anyone spoke to them.

Starts running back in the opposite direction to try to find another door to go through, searching for her voice. 

Feels something grab the back of his jacket

runs down the stairs following the noise

glances over to Deng while turning a page How do you know so much about them?

I don't. not about them specifically. But I have my own ways of honoring the dead. Where I grew up, it's just a part of life. Like prayers in church on a Sunday, for Christians. All we have to go off for the children in particular is what Barnum said and if it's true...well, I wouldn't want to be trapped in a place that held so much fear for me. For even a few hours, let alone.... years. Decades. However long they've been here. -takes out a couple of small spare candles- Can I borrow your lantern?

Carlyle

slides lantern over without pausing in the story ...and as the beast began to see the error of his ways, he began to recover the humanity that had so long dwindled in their cursed twilight...

Deng Yan

lights first one candle, then the second. Takes them carefully to the far corners of the room and places them down, letting the wax run enough to stick them to the floor. Then returns to the lantern with a third candle, to place in the other corner talking quietly, not wanting to disturb Phillip's reading There we go. No need to be afraid of the dark now.

Barnum

The hand grabbing his jacket pulls him back, slowly lifting him off the ground by a few inches. He dangles frozen for a moment, realizing that whoever this was must be at least a few heads bigger than him, a terrifying inhuman thought. 

Manages to regain some sense and wriggles free of his jacket, hitting the ground and running again, shivering a little from being soaked through and losing a layer. 

CHARITY GET OUT OF THE HOUSE. GET PHILLIP AND DENG AND GET OUT OF THE BUILDING. 

THERE'S SOMEONE IN HERE. IT'S NOT SAFE.

Freezes in place, a shiver running down her spine What do you mean there's someone in here? is torn between running back upstairs or running out the door

tilts head as if listening to someone, then nods slowly in response I'm sorry, I hadn't meant to act as if I was ignoring you at first. Sometimes people say things hoping that if they repeat them enough, it will be true. But we're here now and nobody will harm you again, I promise.

Deng Yan

I think they like you, Phillip. Don't let me distract you. lights the incense next, shaking out the flame but blowing on the tip until it smoulders. starts walking slowly around the room.

Barnum

I MEAN there is someone IN HERE! Charity just GO! 

Darts around a corner and smashes into her at full speeds, knocking them both into a heap and knocking the lantern too, which rolls into a puddle in the moulding floorboards and goes out 

...Charity!

Charity

Picks herself up from the floor, groaning Yes you found me. Owww. What were you yelling about?

Barnum

Sorry, sorry! 

Tries to dust her down but can't find her very well in the dark. 

No time. Run. 

Takes her hand and bolts

Deng Yan

tips the contents of the pouches into a pile on the floor, mixing salt and rice together 

It's going to be okay. you've waited this long, you can wait just a few moments longer. Just listen to Phillip telling you the story. Nothing here to be afraid of. 

takes a large handful of salt and rice. Walking around the room, sprinkling it in a large circle. Chanting, or talking softly in a mix of languages as she walks.

Carlyle

..and so the spell was broken and all the castle's subjects awakened from their enchanted sleep as if from a long, restful nap. They saw their long-missed friends and beloved family around them, in the gentle light of a fresh new day, together again beyond the mists of endless dreams. And they lived happily ever after. 

shuts the book softly and looks over to Deng in expectation

flicks a tiny amount of salt and rice at Phillip, smiling 

I think so. They should know what to do. 

settles down on the floor in the middle of the room. starts talking n a different language again, sounding almost like she's singing.

Barnum

Decides that Charity isn't running fast enough as the eerie footsteps start to catch them up, picking her up and slinging her over one shoulder as he runs. Kicking down an old door to run through. 

You can yell at me later for this. Right now I need to keep you alive.

Carlyle

watches shadows around them seem to fade, the light from the candles now growing from pinpricks to bright flickers that reach all corners of the room ...good bye.

Deng Yan

Finishes her chanting, bringing her hands together once in a loud, clear clap. Remains sitting with her eyes closed while the sound rings out in the quiet of the room

Carlyle

rubs at eyes with the corner of a sleeve Thank you. frowns, hearing distant yelling Is that PT? Why is he making so much noise?

Barnum

Hears the footsteps fade away but doesn't stop running immediately, darting through corridors and around corners until he manages to feel out a closet in the dark, pulling them both inside and slamming the door to hide while he catches his breath 

I think we lost her but I have no idea where we are. I hope Phil is safe.

Covers her mouth

There's someone out there, they attacked me. I'm going to get you out of here to safety but you need to stay quiet. 

Starts clinging to her a little bit, soggy from being sprayed with water and quivering slightly from the icy cold of the drafty old house.

Charity

Clings tigher So....the ghosts are actually real?

Barnum

I didn't say that! 

....Maybe. 

I just don't know. 

I didn't think they were! I thought it was rumours.

Carlyle

Yes, quite fine, thank you. And you? 

brushes off clothes and starts for the door Do you think they're in trouble?

So are they ghosts or murderers or just pranksters? You bring me to the nicest places.

Barnum

Presses his face into her hair miserably 

I don't know. I don't want to find out.

Deng Yan

hesitates for a moment, blinking after him as though she might like to say something more but thinking better of it. I'm sure they're fine but let me deal with the candles. The last thing we want is another fire on our hands. goes around the room hastily blowing out the candles as fast as her still slightly shaky legs will allow. Come on. Let's go find our Barnums.

Charity

I cannot believe you threw me over your shoulder.

Carlyle

hurries downstairs It seemed to be coming from down this way.

Barnum

I was trying to protect you!

Charity

You'll need protecting from me by the time we get out of this mess

Carlyle

looks back and, noticing Deng's slower pace, stops to offer her an arm

Barnum

Not even a thank you for saving your life?

Charity

We don't know that my life needed saving

Barnum

That psychopath out there could have killed us both!

Charity

And could be killing us right now yet here we stand.

Deng Yan

takes the offered arm for a moment, catching her breath, but pulls a dagger from her belt and steps in front, keeping one hand back on Phillip's arm just in case. I'm sure they're fine, but stay behind me.

Barnum

I'm starting to remember why we separated.

Tears open the door, grabs her hand and starts running, slamming straight into a wall in the pitch darkness

Rubs at his forehead and grabs her hand again to start in another direction, walking at a fast pace rather than running this time.

bolts down the hallway, swinging lamp ahead I think I heard someone talking up ahead.

If you could move at a decent pace I wouldn't have had to!!

Where is Phillip anyway? Why aren't you worried about him?

Deng Yan

Phillip! I said to stay behind me! runs after him, swearing under her breath

Barnum

Of course I'm worried about him! He could be anywhere! He might be lying dead somewhere having fallen through the floor or throttled by whoever has broken in here. 

But what can I do ?! 

I can't even protect us, how am I supposed to help! How am I supposed to do anything? I shouldn't have even brought you all here.

Charity

Places hands over his okay calm down, I'm sure they're both fine.

Carlyle

careens around a corner and can now hear voices clearly PT! CHARITY!

Barnum

Steadies his breathing and takes her hand to squeeze it. Suddenly squeezing it harder when he hears a voice 

PHIL?!! 

WHERE ARE YOU? WE CAN'T SEE ANYTHING.

Carlyle

stumbles to a halt and backs up, cocking head to listen. Turns and pulls open a door to the left and shines lantern inside on the missing Barnums

Deng Yan

catches up to Phillip at last, grumbling still. looks over his shoulder into the room. Everyone okay in here?

Charity

Oh good we're safe! See, told you there's no such thing as ghosts!

Barnum

Winces at the light before letting his shoulders sag in relief. Darting over and immediately hugging Phillip and picking him off the ground 

You're alive, You're fine. 

Are you hurt? 

Puts him down and turns to cup Deng’s face, glancing her over seemingly satisfied, then glancing back at Charity to make sure she's okay. Then grabs Phil again. 

Fine. Everyone is fine.

Charity

So is anyone going to explain what the hell just happened?

Deng Yan

Startles at Barnum's hand on her face We are...quite fine. We were just in the other room upstairs.

Carlyle

gingerly hands lantern over to Charity before launching self at Barnum, equally relieved and exasperated What are you doing in the laundry room?

Charity

looks pointedly at barnum

Barnum

Picks Phillip back off of the floor and squeezes him 

...I did wonder why I could smell soap. 

I was wrong, some of the floorboards in that room are perhaps not entirely stable. 

Presses his face into Phillip's shoulder, leaching his warmth 

There's someone chasing us down here. No-one is supposed to be in here. 

She was....I mean it was.... 

I can't hear the footsteps anymore but we were being chased.

Deng Yan

We didn't see anyone, and we've just been all over this house looking for you. We would have gone right past them. goes to Charity Are you alright, Charity?

Charity

Glares at Barnum I'll be alright once we get out of here. What happened to you? Did you see anything?

Carlyle

head pops up from where it was nuzzling Barnum's hair Chased? There's nobody else here but us. pauses and glances to Deng Anymore.

Charity

Pulls Deng into a hug I feel left out

Barnum

There was someone! She must have been at least eight feet tall! She must have..... 

Trails off into Phillip's shoulder in exhaustion, still not putting the poor man down

Charity

And what do you mean, anymore?

Deng Yan

startles again but hesitantly wraps her arms around Charity and then leans against her a little We were talking to the children. That's all.

Charity

Shudders....When you say children, you don't mean Caroline and Helen, do you?

Carlyle

wriggles out of Barnum's grip and tugs him towards the lobby Why don't we get out of here?

Barnum

Grabs Phillip's arm to follow 

Immediately. 

Though I have no idea where we're going to go. We're out in the middle of nowhere, the carriage isn't coming back for us until morning.

Deng Yan

Of course not Caroline and Helen. They'll be safely at home with Lettie. still walking a little slower than normal I'm tired.

Charity

heading towards the entrance I saw stables around the back when we were pulling up. Might be enough shelter for the night. The wind's died down.

With enough blankets, I'm sure we'll be fine in the hayloft. God, why are you soaking wet? We're going to have to dry those clothes....

Grabs the suitcases and blankets from the lobby and follows them outside, using his foot to knock open the stable door. 

I used to be a groom once. Used to prefer sleeping in the hay to the quarters anyway. 

I think I broke a water tank in a fight. Then a ghost stole my jacket. 

It's very cold. 

Nudges the door shut behind them with his hip

Narrows his eyes at them, shirtless. Then ducks behind a pile of hay to continue dressing in privacy

turns to fetch Deng's bag and freezes like a deer in the headlights at the shirtless display

Pulls his nightshirt on quickly. Laying out his wet clothes to let them dry. 

Toss me one of those blankets, I'm freezing. 

I'll start a fire if you help me find a spot without too much hay.

Deng Yan

No no, I can mange. I just... needed a moment to rest.

Announces loudly from the doorway I'm going to bed and if I overhear anything I don't want to hear looks pointedly at Barnum and Carlyle I shall feed you to the ghosts.

There were no ghosts in the first place. Even if there were, any noises you make would send them running for the hills. You sound like a steam powered motor boat. 

I think we should sleep with the lanterns lit though. For the sake of the ladies.

Gets momentarily frustrated as he dashes two stones together to try to make a spark, then pauses and squeezes the bridge of his nose with his thumb and forefinger. Reaching into his bag to pull out some matches and lighting the small bonfire with one. 

Shifts over to sit as close to Phil as possible and warms his hands over the fire.

Uhm, hi!

So, i dont really know what to say here to be honest! I guess i should start from the beginning...

For a while, ive been struggling with my identity. Ive known i was bisexual for maybe two years now, but recently ive been wondering about my gender. I wondered if i was trans for a bit, but it never really felt like that fit. Im not really comfortable with they/ them pronouns, so being completely non binary was out. What if im just a girl and there’s nothing else to it? But that didnt feel right either, so what am I? I never told anyone about these questions i had, not even my best friend who i told everything to. I just kept it to myself for a while. 

Then, i found out what demigirl was.

It started out with an askblog on here, funny enough. One of the characters was demigirl, but the mod for the blog never really said what that meant, and i never really looked it up. Then, one day, i was making a character, but i wasnt sure what their gender should be. I tried non binary, but that wasnt quite right. remembering seeing demigirl on that askblog, i looked it up, just to see if it would work, and it did!

After learning what demigirl was, i started wondering, “could that be my answer? am i a demigirl?” For a while, it didnt seem right either, but the more i thought about it, the more comfortable i became with that label. And then, last night, October 1st, 2017, it hit me. I identified as a demigirl.

So, here we are. I told my therapist today, and im planning on telling at least one of my friends tomorrow at school, and i think im happy with this. At least for now, if nothing else.

To anyone having trouble with their identity, don’t stress too much, you’ll figure it out eventually. I promise. Your identity may find you in the strangest place, like an undertale ask blog. Just be patient with yourself, and you’ll figure it out.

so, the end of semester exams weren’t really what kept me from working on art, it was more because family has been visiting for a month and i wanted to spend the last few days they were here with them, as the mega update towards izuru was something i worked on while ignoring our guests (much to my own guilt)

I’ve also been in a bit of a Persona phase as of late and I haven’t felt like drawing anything lately, which can greatly impact an askblog in a negative way. Theres also the fact that I get in a slump when it comes to drawing whenever summer comes around, since i draw to cope with school alot, but i will be drawing for this blog don’t worry. I’m still greatly invested in the blog and i will be working on it so here’s what i’m probably gonna do for the beginning of summer break

1. I’m going to be silent while my family is still here, theyre leaving on monday, so i’ll get back to work after they leave, i promise.

2. I intend to either clean out the askbox or take 3 of these specific asks and delete the others (sorry some of them aren’t impactful asks but i can do mini updates later) 

So basically i’m gonna do smaller updates and follow it with a large one.

3. After the major update, I want to take another 1 week break like last time, and i’ll try updating my main blog @indigoidiot with personal sketches (since I can’t remember the last time I did a self indulgent sketch)

oh god, i guess since i can hold a pen ?? as long as i can remember i’ve been drawing so ??

5. What’s your favorite thing to draw ?

this is hard to answer .... i love designing characters, especially non human, and i can never decide on one design so i end up with multiple ones for a single character (the typical “THIS ISNT EVEN MY FINAL FORM !!” thingy ). I love, of course, drawing my own characters (i have too many of them ;__; ) bc i love every single one of them ( ok .. almost >_> ). BUT, obviously, i love drawing jinbe too. 

im not sure if “thing” only refers to characters, so im just gonna say, that i really love drawing eyes ... idk why but in almost every drawing i make i only like how the eyes turned out. I really like drawing hair too, but i cant draw it as good as would like too :/ also CLAWS !! >u

 16. Do you draw more today than you did in the past, or do you draw less?

Ah ....well, i draw a lot more (or more finished things) because im currently only at home, so i have a lot of time, thats going to change soon though .. unfortnately i cant just live my life drawing at home ... :/

i was a lot more motivated when i was younger though, probably because i didnt have as much mental problems as i have now ..... :T

18. What are you currently trying to improve on?

honestly ? everything. im far from being able to draw as i want to so yeah, literally everything, although i gotta say that im better at drawing figures and characters ... . backgrounds are my worst enemy tbh, i dont have the patience to draw lineart for the bg too, but im the worst at drawing without lines, and the fact that my laptop seems to die everytime i try to draw with a little more details doesnt really make it easier :/

(also, wtf are feet and how do i do perspective ??)

22. Are you confident that you’re improving steadily?

confident ? im confident about me being a failure haha ... you see, im not improving steadily, but in big jumps somehow, one day its just like a *click* and i see stuff looking weird to me that didnt before, and just ... draw different ........ its hard to explain really, but the best example is looking at my askblog, that blog isnt that old, and if you start from the first posts you can literally see the sudden change in my art style SO MANY TIMES like, almost from post to post, its stupid (am i really telling ppl to look at my horrible old art ??? no, i dont. dont look at it, its awful. )

25. Do you like to draw in silence, or with music?

always with music, or lets plays, drawing in silencce somehow makes me panic and i start drawing like i need to finish it before .... idk ?? it feels like a race ? 

im mostly listening to those epic music compilation videos on youtube that go for 6 hours, sometimes i switch between that, classical music and my favorite bands (but listening to music from my fav bands always inspires me and i get a lot of ideas for new things to add to my stories ((bc the lyrics are so interesting)) and then i want to draw everything at once so i make a few rough sketches, delete them bc they are shit and then get demotivated, OR i sit there imagining new scenes and .. fall asleepc..)
