i feel like that last reblog is a very good excuse for me to talk about my tattoo again, but also cause things with it are very real tbh
like yeah, its a wrestling tattoo on the surface to those who know kip sabian. he is a very important one for me, this past year and then some being one of the main things keeping me interested in the sport/fandom - but hes also been a very real human being in keeping me sane this whole time too. watching his stuff on whatever platform, taking apart this whole boxman thing, honestly making me fall in love with my art again as ive developed so much as ive been keeping on drawing him, always nice to interact with, just. a genuine, good guy
everyone who knows me at least should know i love cryptids and that type of paranormal shit. the boxman, apart from kip himself and what hes done for me and especially my self-esteem this past year, represents that. its multiple layers
the saying "time doesnt heal, it changes you" is a very real one to me, too - again, on surface its a quote from the man, a wrestling themed tattoo. and yeah, sure, it is also that, as you know im a huge fan. but thats also a saying about growing. growing up, growing as a person, learning to live with the things you cant control and cant necessarily change
its something my long time therapist used to tell me a lot too. that while things get easier over time, you find your ways to deal with it all, it most likely will never fully go away. some wounds, mental ones especially, dont heal - but time will help you change those aspects and work with them and around them. for me thats been with anxiety and depression, coming to terms with some things, learning to be my own person and doing what makes ME happy first and foremost (if you know me, you know with a whole lot of things, this year has been a turning point for me on a lot of personal things. so this rings especially true, hence why it is on my arm).. and thats especially why this one is so important to me
i know its a silly wrestling catchphrase, sure. but its also so much more. the whole ass concept is so much more to me, personally. and its also a tattoo designed by one of the most important people in my life and helping her live forever on my skin too is a huge part of that
i think thats all, thanks for coming to my ted talk
