ok so personally i listened to it and i really am not a fan of the singers voice yk just not my preference but i also can't believe that gerard has been on a. new song in the last month and i didn't hear anything about it??? of course i haven't been on tumblr much but im still frequently lurking on other sm like every day and all my friends are my chem fans and i have literally not heard anyone mention this! so thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Everybody had heard of Phantom. The legends, the rumors, the gossip. A hero who seemed to appear all throughout history, through different worlds, and seemed forever ageless always appearing as a teenager. These sightings seemed to happen in clusters that left a flurry of whispers for years to come.

But there was never any proof of him.

Clark Kent, Bruce Wayne, Bart Allen, even Oliver Queen had grown up hearing the legends and the rumors and often thought of the legend when they were growing up throughout America. Long before Clark Kent became Superman, before Bruce Wayne lost his parents, before Bart Allen had his accident and before Oliver Queen was stranded on that island. Then when the Justice League formed and they met more life from off their planet they found just how far the legend spread. How many worlds knew of Phantom in a verity of different names.

That was proof enough that Phantom was real for them.

But where had he gone? Why were the legends never clear?

Nobody could have imagined that in Phantom's final legendary fight his core had been injured and for the last few decades he had been literally comatose within a pearl hidden in plain sight. A museum of Natural History within Gotham City. Not very pretty, simply 'discovered' near some ancient ruins and assumed to be apart of the culture.

There Phantom rested and slept, recovering little by little.

Until a villain realized that this 'strange pearl' produced a powerful type of energy that they could use to their advantage. Needless to say while the Legends of Phantom had faded they had never truly died, and neither had Phantom. So the second the villain tried to use Phantom's powers against his will the King of the Dead himself awake and showed himself to the "New Age Heroes".

On Sunday while running errands, I had the Driving Thought™️ that Vessel must have heard the genre-bending in Wildfire by Periphery, said bet, and then wrote The Summoning. But, ha ha, jokes on me, I just looked up the songs and The Summoning was released first.

So now I have the ridiculous idea in my head that the Periphery guys heard The Summoning, said bet to Vessel, and then made Wildfire within a week. That's absolutely not how it happened but I'm still gonna pretend.
