Im just gonna say it, I think Amane's conduct is "scary" and "ominous" on purpose to see who still treats her like a person despite these traits.

Her state of mind is an uncommon one; one you have to dig a little bit to understand. And a heartbreaking understanding it is, especially since looking into real world paralells to her cult is quite the rabbit hole of human depravity.
