Okay okay. Head 1968 dvd came in the mail yesterday u wish u were me so bad also ive watched it three times since then it doesnt have subtitles but honestly i kind of already know the dialogue so its fine. Other dvds are en route supposedly. Really want a burger and some strawberries and some chocolate right now i think i can make the burger happen but we'll see. Also i went out at like 4am yesterday and had a little adventure remind me to post photos from it bc it was really beautiful ...... thats basically it

Hi I just wanted to ask your opinion bc you seem pretty level headed about things but I’m 19 and am quite good at knitting so made that Harry cardigan (the one that went everywhere so they published the design) for me and my friends. Since then I’ve had some random people message me about buying one and I don’t know what to do? Bc I’m 19 and uni is crazy expensive so on one hand it would be great but I don’t want to get in trouble or piss people off?? ☹️

And like my friends are saying not to worry, that I should make an insta or something for them (as I’ve made different colour ones too) but I’m so scared? Like isnt it super bad to do that? Ahhhhh ☹️☹️

Hi!! First of all that’s amazing that you’re doing that! If you’re talking is it all right in a copyright sense - normally when it’s a designer putting out a product, there is the possibility of them being like “hey that’s ours” and you get “in trouble”. for someone like you that is selling stuff like that via insta/etsy/redbubble/what have you, that will most likely be: stop selling them and you’re fine (if youre on etsy or redbubble the listing would just be taken down). if someone like forever 21 started making them and trying to mass produce them they could be like uhhhh hello?? and sue them. but you wouldn’t get sued, they’d just tell you to stop selling them (and as long as you followed that there shouldn’t be an issue).

but this is a different case, because jw anderson specifically put out the pattern. they’re basically telling people to recreate it. so they’re probably wayyy more lenient to this (particularly for fans for personal use) so i really dont see you running into any issues. the other option is adding “inspired by” to any listings/posts as then it’s like an inspiration but not a replication. 

you also can sell them on the low where you arent specifically advertising but if anyone asks just be like “dm me!” and then it’s even more conspicuous.

if youre talking about feeling guilty if you were to make money off selling them - DONT. it’s just like any other person making fan made merch. this is a talent you have (a very hard talent to learn well and be able to do it quickly as it seems like you can since youve made multiple already!!) and you have every right to use your talents in a way that will help both benefit others (through them getting something they want) and you (money!). you arent scamming people, youre charging for time, labor, materials, plus the ease of someone not having to make it themselves. ive seen a lot of different people making and selling them so i dont think it would piss anyone off at all. be honest with people youre selling to (what the final price would be, how long you expect it to take, how you accept payment, shipping costs, etc) but it could be a wonderful way to get some extra money in your pocket (college is fucking expensive i feel you there), especially if it’s something you enjoy/don’t mind doing.
