Thanks for answering the questionnaire Yeti!
Congrats on the Bills, and I hope you're settling into the year okay.
Can I ask you to recap (or point me to where you've discussed it in the Discord) the essence of your love for the end of Redux? Very keen to hear any and all of your thoughts on it, if /when you have time.
Thank you! Bills by a billion 😍
My favorite scene in the entire series, bar none, is this little bit at the end of R2:
"Why did you come here if you'd already made up your mind?" "Because I knew you'd talk me out of it if I was making a mistake."
I love the intimacy of this line. He needs her to know what he's about to do, so she can give him her blessing. He needs her to know that there is no way in hell he'd let her take the fall, that he could never live with himself if he implicated her instead, that her legacy deserves better than a lie. And he absolutely knows that she'll tell him if she think's he's about to do something incredibly stupid. This is their process. It's how they solve problems, it's how they've made it work over and over and over.
And there are smiles, and laughter, and... god. For a few seconds, everything is back to normal. It's "go ahead, nay-say me" and "okay, so what's your theory?" It's just them, talking.
And then the priest walks in, and the moment is shattered, and everyone slams back into reality. There's a very good chance they will never see each other again, because he's probably going to prison, and she is almost certainly going to die. The absolute crushing grief on her face. The way they don't let go of each other until the last possible second. Hail Mulders. 😭 Augh. Leave me here to die.
...yeah so anyway I have strong feelings about that scene.
