Hey there! I recently saw your altar update pictures and I wanted to say it's so cool!! I also wanted to ask, how does one respectfully put an altar in their bedroom whilst using your bedroom for different things that might be disrespectful (undressing, etc)? Apollo was the first god I really connected to, but I've felt a huge distance with him because I don't know what are the proper ways of worshipping / giving offerings / praying... I've tried looking online, but they make it seem pretty intimidating. Along with that, I don't know what to use to physically clean / rearrange the altar, and I'm always scared I'm making huge mistakes that'll anger my deities... Are there limits to how 'casual' an offering can be (I really wanna offer him my favorite slushies and other treats, but I'm not sure if that's out of the question...)? And lastly, how does discernment work in regards to deity-work? I apologize for the long ask; I just really want to work with deities without my anxiety and religious trauma interfering.
Best Regards!! ^^
Personally, I am very relaxed when it comes to having an altar in my bedroom. Apollo knows that due to my family circumstances his altars needs to be in my room, and either way having his altar in my room makes me feel closer to him. I wake up and go to sleep with his altar by my bed, and that helps me feel connected to him and remember to give offerings. I disconnect myself from the idea of that I'm doing anything disrespectful in the room, because the gods aren't going to be pissed at me for undressing in my room. Either way, I don't stand right in front of my altar while I do stuff like undressing for comfort reasons.
When worshiping the gods, go easy on yourself- especially if you struggle with religious trauma. The theoi aren't going to smite you for making small mistakes here and there, especially if you aren't just blatantly going out of your way to be disrespectful. When I pray I put my hands facing up as this is how people prayed to the Ouranic gods in the past. When you offer items to Apollo just specify the offering is for him aloud or in your head, like: "Lord Apollo, I offer you these sunflowers." When praying you can read Orphic or Homeric hymns or say your own prayers. You can keep it as simple or detailed as you please- whatever makes you comfortable. I'd recommend looking at some prayers people have written to Apollo on here and see how others write them for inspiration for yourself. This is a simple one I wrote awhile ago: here
When I clean and rearrange my altar I simply use disinfectant wipes on the table itself. And I wash my hands before removing or touching anything on Apollo's altar.
When it comes to how casual an offering can be, it depends on your preference in your worship. Some people prefer to keep their offerings very traditional, while others are relaxed with it and will offer much more casual modern items. I fall into the modern category. If you want to offer Apollo slushies and other treats, I say go for it. You can always ask him if he'd like a specific offering prior to offering it via a pendulum.
Discernment in regards to deity work, I'd say do your research on the deity you are working with first and foremost. If traditionally they are associated with something then you can judge they'd like that as an offering or devotional act. If there's no history connecting the deity to something then you can always just ask the deity about it and see what they say via pendulum, tarot, or another divination method.
I hope this answer was okay, sorry if it is a lot- I wanted to cover everything in your ask. Please just remember first and foremost that the gods aren't going to punish you for making mistakes especially when you are still learning. Unless you are disrespecting the theoi on purpose, they are very understanding.
Wishing you the best :)

Types of Witches

Hello everyone! Here is the updated version of the WITCH TYPES list, including types that were missed and recommended. Please be respectful if there is some form of misinformation or typo on here; I tried my verybest and took a lot of my own time and energy to do as thorough research as I could with what I have available, which is a very difficult and long task for somebody with low motivation. I am very in favor of constructive and polite criticism, but I will not tolerate people leaving rude comments without even trying to help me fix and provide the best information possible! Thank you so much to everyone who so kindly informed me of what needed to be polished up and fixed, you are all very lovely people for handling it with patience ~ And keep in mind, beginner witches:
You do not NEED to identify yourself as a type
You can choose to identify yourself as NO type at all
You can choose to identify with as many as you like!
Anyway, enjoy! ➺ Rainy
Each type includes a simplified description (for those who haven’t heard of the type, just to get a generalized idea. The shortened description is in no way meant to be discriminative or disrespectful), a few examples, and almost every bolded term includes a link to a (hand-picked) useful post/website for that type of practice.
Types of Witches
(Some may also fit into the second category)

Solitary - Practicing by ones’ self; not included in a group
Secular - Non-religious / Not connecting with deity(s)
Eclectic - An individual’s practice that has bits and pieces pulled from different magickal and/or spiritual practices, respectfully
(Theistic) Satanic - Witchcraft that is often centered around honoring and/or working with satan in spellwork and prayer
Athiest/Laveyan Satanic - Witchcraft worked with the idea that satan is a concept, rather than a real person or entity (loosely put; it’s a very detailed concept). Also known as Satanic witches who fit the secular description.
Hereditary/Blood - Including oneself in the practice of witchcraft on the grounds of having been born into a family who also practices. Knowledge and practice may also be passed down through generations, and honor old ways of magick
Traditional - One who practices witchcraft by honoring and using old and ‘traditional’ ways of magick; this type of witch might be one to practice modern methods of magick, but they might also stick to traditional concepts or techniques
Christian - Witchcraft that is performed to honor / or is performed in conjunction with the Christian God as the primary and only deity
Hellenic - A form of non-witchcraft practice in which the practicer follows Greek ideals/culture and honors the Greek pantheon
Celtic - Magickal practice that is based from the Celtic culture, including its’ mythology, deities, old ways, and (occasionally) language / symbols. May also describe those who only worship Celtic gods
Science - A form of magick in which both metaphysical ideas and scientific facts/theories are mixed in together by the individual practicer
Types of Witchcraft
Keep in mind that each term’s explaination is the basic description of that type of witchcraft/magick; each individual witch might be a certain type but define it differently, as their practice may be different from the next witch
∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆∴.*☆
Green - Utilizing greenery/plants/herbs/flowers in herbal and natural magick, such as creating blends of different plants or using primarily herbs in spellwork
Hedge - Also known as an astral title, a type of magick that is oriented around more spiritual work; astral travel/projection, lucid dreaming, spirit-work, healing, and out-of-body experiences are all practices included in this magick
Dream - (A possible variation of Hedge) Mindful and internal magickal practice mainly based from interpreting dreams and/or engaging in lucid dreaming. Those who intensify as this may “de-code” symbols and messages in the dream world similar to how one would use a divination technique.
Sea - A type of magick derived from materials and abstract ideas involving the ocean and oceanic world. Sea/Ocean magick can be worked using seashells and bones, sea weed, beach sand, driftwood, ocean water, etc. and a sea witch might draw their energy from that of the sea!
Storm/Weather - Magick that is worked by combining one’s energy with the energy of the weather, and most commonly rain. Weather witches will do things like collect rain/snow water, absorb the energy of a lightning storm, “whistle up” or manipulate wind, predict the weather, etc.
Cottage / Hearth - (A slight variation from kitchen) Magick that is weaved, worked, or embued into mundane tasks around the house or for loved ones. Cottage/Hearth magick may be worked into daily tasks such as cleaning, cooking, or any hobbies

Tea - Those who drink tea, make tea, use tea-leaf divination, or enjoy blending herbal remedies! A variant of Kitchen/Cottage witch
Tech - Magick that is skillfully worked through technology! A tech witch will most likely have at least a few magickal apps on their phone, digital sigils, or an online/digital BoS and/or Grimoire
Garden - While having a garden and/or working in any type of garden; magick that is mostly (if not all) herbal and botanical-related! Garden witches take pride and find it calming or invigorating to work the earth, harvest that which they have planted, and are closely related to Green type
Elemental - Magick that is worked by honoring/acknowledging the 4 or all 5 elements: Water, Earth, Air, Fire, and Spirit. Commonly an Elementalist will dedicate different areas of their altars to each element, call upon them during spells and rituals, and use symbols to represent each
Water - Specifically centered on the element of Water; water scrying, collecting sea/storm/snow/river/spring water, swimming/bath spells and other water-related actives, creating and using symbols associated with water
Earth - Specifically centered on the element of Earth; grounding exercises, rock/soil collecting, strong appreciation of the natural world, creating and using symbols associated with earth
Air - Specifically centered on the element of Air; working with wind, using air-related tools (such as the wand), creating and using symbols associated with air
Fire - Specifically centered on the element of Fire; Using anything fire-related (bonfires, candles, burning objects) in most spellwork, creating and using symbols associated with fire
Flora - Much like a Green or Garden witch, those who work majorily with floral materials and flowers in their practice and in their spellwork! Their grimoire may be heavily associated with flowers rather than herbs, and likewise, one might use flower properties in spell or craft work.
Urban Primative/City - For those who live or prefer the urban/city lifestyle; magick that can be worked without the seemingly “traditional” ways of witchcraft
Faery/Fey - Magick for those who communicate and work with the fey during spells and rituals. Usually, those who work with the fey may also leave offerings regularly, as thanks for the assistance of a faery in their spellwork.
Spirit Working - A practice in which the person will perform spellwork in conjunction with or with the help of any manner of spirit. This includes Ouija, (sometimes) demon spirits, spiritual contact, etc.
Draconian - Refers to type of magick for those who call upon or work with dragons and dragon imagery in their practice; whether it be through astral matters or in spells and rituals

Embroidery / Sewing / Knit - One who embues magick into household “stitching” or “string” hobbies such as embroidery, sewing, knitting, stringing, and knotting ~ Basically, one who identifies with using knot or chord magick in many different skills
Paper - Magick that is worked with, essentially, paper! Burning paper written with sigils, chants, symbols or spells, creating magickal offerings, items, or sachels from paper, etc.
Music - Magick that is worked with music, musical chimes, or rhythm! Humming/singing, clapping, singing chants during spells, playing instruments (even simple ones, like the triangle or bells), or even just simply playing music during spellwork, magick, or during energy exercises are a few common things a music witch might fancy
Chaos/Chaotic - A type of magick utilizing new, non-traditional, and unorthodox methods. It is a new and highly individualistic practice, while still drawing from other common forms of magick.
Animal - (A variant of Green) Magick that is strongly tied to the animal kingdom, which includes a deep appreciation for all animals, and most often: usage of animal materials in spellwork. An animal witch will most likely be one who loves animals, a person who animals are immediently “drawn” to, and those who appreciate the natural world. Some animal witches might also use bones, wings, feathers, fur, skin, scales, (etc). from deceased animals in their magick, if they choose to do so.
Sanguine - Meaning “blood” or “blood red color” in Latin, a type of magick that deals with blood or other life giving fluid; life blood can also be represented through things such as water, or nutrients. A term for those who work with blood and life-oriented magick!
Sigil - A witchcraft working majorly with sigils, and the intent that can be put into them to active their power
Art/Craft - Witchcraft that can be worked through arts and crafts, simply put! One may embue macgick in creative activities such as painting, drawing, building, cutting, creating, etc.
Grey - A neutral witch, who practices magick that neither benefits or harms others. Grey magick may also both harm and benefit at the same time, balancing and neutralizing.
Bone - Witches who commonly collect, clean, and use animal bones in their magickal practice, and for things like altar decoration or magick-infused charms/jewelry. Materials used by those who identify as Bone witches are usually collected peacefully or after the being has passed on naturally!
Lunar - One who works magick with / honors the moon and it’s energy and phases. This type of witch is also one to favor casting magick during the night hours rather than during the day
Astronomy/Space - (A wider variant of lunar) Those who practice magick and correlate their beliefs in conjunction with the planets and stars! These witches may focus their magick with the properties of each planet, regularly read a horoscope or study astrology, and have a love of the stars and the night.

Crystal - Magick that is worked commonly with stones and crystals, such as during spellwork or for crystal healing techniques. This may also include chakra balance, crystal meditation… anything that uses crystals, really! A crystal witch may also have an extensive knowledge of stones, including how to identify them and using their properties.

52 Deep Ass Witchcraft Questions >.<
What draws me to witchcraft? What draws me to witchcraft? Maybe the sense of belonging I feel, maybe it is the comfort I gain when I practice. I have always been drawn to the occult ever since I was a child. I cannot explain why I love it so much. It just feels right. I was lost when I was young. In the sense that I had lost my sense of family friendship and love (especially self-love).
How do I see the divine? I see them as wonderful companions and beings that I can learn and find guidance from. Lots of times they appear to me like shadows or shimmers like glittery blobs in front of me. Other times they chime into my head like ringing a doorbell or whispering in cryptic images, words, and sounds.
What in witchcraft makes me happy? I love how I feel about all of it. I love the craft and the darker sides of magic. I especially love the ways I have connected more to others and especially myself through it all.
Do I want to follow a path that has to do with a little nature or a lot of nature? I would rather stay away from any kind of nature besides dirt, sea water, moon water etc since I have this insane ability to kill any plants in my care or near me.
What areas of witchcraft would I like to learn more about? I would like to learn more about energy healing, soul work, conjuring, sea magic, and spirit work. I already work with most of these but I always want to collect more and more information.
Where do my witchy talents lie? I’d say I am confident in my dream interpretations, scrying, and sea magic.
What kind of deities, if any, do I want to honour? I honour Hades, Poseidon, Selene mainly, but any other deity who asks for help or an offering is welcome in my space. I also have a small altar planned for my spirit companions and such.
How do I believe magic works? I believe it is a combined mix of supernatural forces, your own intentions, practice, faith, and energy.
Simple or elaborate spells/rituals? Why? I really love elaborate spells and rituals, however, I am not in a position to perform them with money, time, and having to keep my craft a secret being a constant issue. So I perform simple spells regularly XD I love them just as much as elaborate spells.
What are my views on cursing/hexing? I am the biggest Pro Curse witch. I practice cursing, hexing, and jinxing on a regular basis. I love it! Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I honestly couldn’t care less if someone hates me or my craft because I approve of curses. It is none of their business what I do.
Do I want to practice something similar to my ancestors? I have not considered anything with my ancestors, my family is a mess and I’d rather not dig into their history.
What are the basic morals and ethics I feel I should live by? To strive to live to your fullest (arete), keeping duty, promise, and reverence toward the gods (eusebia), having moral purity; doing what is right always and keeping a strong moral compass (hagneia), live to gain wisdom and knowledge from everywhere and everyone (sophia), having self-control; denying temptations etc (sophrosune), practising hospitality, generosity, and courtesy always (xenia)
What in nature am I drawn to; the ocean, animals, the trees, etc? I am drawn to the deep earth, it’s minerals and gems, the ocean, sea, any body of water really, the moon, flowers, and old trees.
Which (witchy) holidays, if any, would I like to celebrate and how? Currently I do not celebrate any witchy holidays. But I plan to incorporate some into my practice soon (mainly Hellenic and Buddhist holidays).
How do I believe divination works? I believe divination comes through deep within yourself, the universe conversing with your spirit, entities, spirits, and deities communicating through the tools, and the energy through the devices themselves guiding the reader. When reading the signs, symbols, and images seen through divination there are so many secrets being told and unveiled at the hands of the reader.
Would I like to work with a group some of the time, all of the time or not at all? I would love to have a permanent and stable coven who is really casual with the craft and rituals. Although I do like performing spells alone, three people would be the strongest.
Which aspects of witchcraft appeal to me most, which the least? The aspects that most appeals to me are the ability to express oneself, the openness for all possibilities, and a validation of my personal character. What I like least is the discourse it creates in some places and the prejudices against those who practice, and even the prejudice between groups of people who practice different crafts. I very much dislike the negative stigma that has been highlighted by social media, society, and most Hollywood productions.
What do I believe happens to us when we die? I believe that in death our souls will be able to travel to the afterlife that we deserve. We will be judged on our actions in life and placed in one of the hells, heavens, sanctuaries, or be reborn to learn the lessons we missed during our time on earth.
How do I see mythological creatures? I see mythological creatures as those who once had physical forms and some who still exist in the physical but are hidden from our naked eyes. Those who have become spirits still interact with the world but in a much different way than what they would have when they had physical forms.
When do I feel most magical? I feel the most magical when I am divining, speaking to my gods, and performing spells/curses...
How much is witchcraft woven into my daily life; is this too much, too little or just enough? I would like more of my craft to be a daily thing. So far I just discuss it and share information between blogs and friends. And the occasional ritual every so often.
What kind of witch do I feel I am? I am rather eclectic, I mainly focus on divination, sea and watercraft, and hedge magic.
Which texts/quotes best describe my current path?
Do I like to research and gathering info, or do I like things handed to me? I love researching and finding out new things about witchcraft. Though it is also nice when people give me information as well.
Which things about witchcraft worry or scare me? What worries me the most in the craft is mainly messing up a ritual or reading and upsetting someone I am doing a spell for or a client who asks for a reading. I’m afraid of failing people,,, especially since this is something I say I am good at.
What is my favourite element? My favourite element would have to be water.
How do I see gender (roles) in witchcraft? I don’t even know why this is asked. Like any other place in life a person’s gender shouldn’t affect anyone’s opinion of them.
Am I interested more in magic or spirituality? I think I have a more focused interest on the occult,,, however my practice is closely tied to my religions and culture so who is to say which I prefer more.
Do I like to be told how to do things, or would I rather figure it out on my own? It really depends on the situation. If I were to find myself capable enough to figure it out then sure, I would do that. However, if it was a situation in where I have no expertise or capability than I would much prefer to have someone instruct me.
What rules, if any, do I live by when it comes to witchcraft and magic? (1) never disrespect anyone else in the community, (2) always return what you are given, (3) deities, entities, spirits, and other beings are just as entitled to rightful treatment as you are so treat them with respect, (4) do not be closed minded; gather what you can from around you and use it to the fullest, (5) never use magic for ill intended personal gain, (6) curse all that you want, but never ever try to harm anyone’s life …
What do I gain from witchcraft and magic? I believe that I can gain a peace of mind when I practice my craft. It also becomes a whole new place for me to express myself, and to find my identity.
Formal or informal rituals/spells? Why? I believe both can be utilized in places where they are needed. Structure of my craft follows as its name intended,,, ride with the currents and adapt to the shape of the situation
What subject do I love to study? I like learning about ghosts, spirits, deities, entities, demons, dark spirits, curses, hexes, jinxes, sea/water magic, astrology, divination, interpretations, and potion making.
What is my favourite type of magic; candle, sympathetic, sigils, etc? I don’t think I really have a favourite?? However I do enjoy some nice summoning, conjuring and so forth.
What would my perfect witchy day be like? Sleeping in, brewing some home made magic tea, writing some curses, conversing with my guides and deities, taking some time in the day to make some successful future spells, going on a witch supply run with a fellow witch.
Would I want to be dedicated/initiated? I don’t really follow those rules? I’m a pretty secular witch as it is,,, I wouldn’t want to be initiated into a group where I do not completely trust those people.
Who do I honour (ex: deities, ancestors, myself, etc), and how do I, or would I like to, honour them? I honour my patrons (Hades and Poseidon) and matron (Selene) with libations, burning foods as offerings, practicing magic with them, studying where they tell me I need to work on,,,
How do I create a sacred/witchy space? I begin with cleaning the area, clearer space a clearer mind, then I bless it with rosemary and celery seed incense, I set up my tools and altar, then I meditate and ask for the powers of my guides and patheon to aid me in blessing the space. I am trying to keep an aesthetic for my altars and still have to plan them,,,
What do I believe is needed for a successful spell/ritual? I believe that the right amount of energy and focus is needed to complete a ritual perfectly. However I have not done many official rituals so I’d have to do that and come back to add more to this.
Which cultures do I draw from in my witchcraft? I draw from the Hellenic culture to my craft, I draw great inspiration from the Hellenic deities and stories.
What is my learning style; books, websites, videos, more hands-on? I like learning from all sources of information, though I’m not very fond of videos since I like to absorb the material at my own pace.
What, if anything, in my mundane life influences my witchcraft? I believe my emotions and lifestyle really influence my craft,,, because I am not allowed to practice such craft in my home I have to keep it secret from my family members and am forced to take other means of crafting and establishing a place to craft.
What are my hobbies, how do I (or can I) incorporate them in my witchcraft? I love to sleep?? So I do a lot of dream interpretations?? I really don’t know what kind of hobbies would mesh with witchcraft? I do like aesthetics so I strive to do everything to the aesthetic appeal.
Where do my non-witchy talents lie, how do I (or can I) incorporate them in my witchcraft? I am fairly good at planning large events and managing people, I believe I could do a great deal in organizing rituals, craft affairs or other occult like events.
What would my dream witchy life look like? What steps can I take to work towards it? My dream witch life would be me working amazingly at being a wedding and event planner, while owning my own supernatural and metaphysical store. Steps I could take to work towards it? Hmmm. Well I would have to finish school as one, secondly find and establish a place for myself in the wedding and events industry, then plan further to open my own cafe/supernatural/metaphysical store. (which I have made great plans for,,, however I have no idea which plan I would choose first).
What would my dream sacred space/witchy home look like? What steps can I take to work towards it? I would love to live in a multi floored old semi detached town house. Where there is a fine kitchen, a grand bedroom, a study and an office space where I could work on both my passions, witchcraft and wedding planning. I would like there to be a terrace as well, mainly for whatever artistic urges find me and I need a safe place to art it out. There would also be a reading area within the study where I place my alters and magic working area, in the study there would be a small stove as well so I can brew potions. I would like a bit of closet space in this house for all of my herbs, gems, and divination tools to be stored and protected. And of course a nice comfortable living space for my cat Nico to roam and make his domain. I would need a hella lot of money and good credit
What symbols correspond with me; runes, animals, flowers, gemstones, etc? Large serpents, Storms, Dreams, Blood, psionic abilities, Peaches, Moon and Sun, Twin flames
Am I an open and proud witch, or do I (need to) hide my craft? I need to hide my craft from my family, though everywhere else I am a big prideful witch who doesn’t shy from sharing about the craft.
What are my favourite witchy items/tools; divination tool, ritual tool, décor, clothing, etc? My favourite tools are my mirrors, pendulum, and tarot cards.
What is holding me back in my craft? I really think it is my own living situation, familial situation, and my financial situation that holds me back from truly exploring my craft. Alongside my growing mental and health issues.
What is my pre-spell/ritual routine? It really depends on what kind of spell I am working on. It can take up to a whole day to a few moments.
What are my ultimate witchy goals and how can I work towards them? My ultimate goal right now is to find my own place in the world before I really work hard on the plans I have for my craft. I needed to strengthen myself before I can do much more than what I am already doing as of now. My goal is to have enough funds to actually make a good enough alter for my deities and spirits, to someday own my own shop/cafe, and to finally find myself through my practice.

I wasn’t directly tagged, but @quris-sparky left it open so I decided to do it...! I haven’t done anything like this for witchcraft before so I’m excited ahaha ;v;
1. Are you a religious witch? Which religion? Nope! I just kinda slid away from Catholicism, which is when I found an opening to finally start practicing witchcraft, which I have wanted to do for... most of my life. But right now I’m kind of in a weird limbo where I’m quite spiritual but don’t really feel tied to any particular religion. That might change someday.
2. What is your preferred herb? If I’m honest, cinnamon sticks, basil, and rosemary seem to be my main herbs at the moment. Pretty basic, but I suppose that’s not unusual, especially for a beginner.
3. What is your preferred gem? I love peridot, because it’s my birthstone and very special to me! I also quite like just about any variation of quartz. I’d love to get my hands on some fire opal someday, and other stones that are aligned with the sun.
4. Do you do divination? Which kind? I have a lovely tarot deck that I’m acclimating myself to. I really want to learn fire divination and pendulum divination as well. Maybe also runes!
5. Favorite Tarot card? I... am not sure if I have one yet? Apparently the cards associated with my birthday are the Lovers and the Devil, so I suppose I’ll call those my favourites until I find real favourites.
6. To Curse or not to Curse? I personally don’t like cursing within my own craft, because I don’t really want to deal with that kind of energy, and I’d rather do other things than directly cause anyone harm. But I take no issue with others cursing! It’s a matter of preference.
7. Do you have a familiar? I don’t think so? It might be nice to have one someday. I do have 2 cats, but I don’t get the sense they’re familiars.
8. Favorite candle color? Ooh, white and red, I think.
9. Favorite rune? I haven’t gotten a chance to read too much on runes yet, so I haven’t found a favourite as of yet.
10. Do you celebrate the solstices, full moons, etc? I just celebrated my first Spring Equinox! I’d like to continue celebrating Solstices and Equinoxes from here on out. I’ve always wanted to do that. I don’t really celebrate full moons, unless there’s something particularly special about it, in which case I’ll do some small special things for it. I don’t really celebrate sabbats, I don’t really feel comfortable doing that personally, and I couldn’t tell you why, I just prefer celebrating the important times of year without giving it a special name.
11. Do you wear a pentacle? No, partially because I live with my family and they wouldn’t be cool with that. When I’m living on my own, I’ll let myself start getting a little friendlier with pentacles.
12. Do you have a broom? Not a special one, unfortunately, not yet ;^; I’d like to make one after I move out.
13. Do you have a pendulum? I ordered a clear quartz one online, so now I’m just waiting for it to come in!
14. Do you have an athame? The closest thing I have is this rustic looking knife I have on my shelf, but I haven’t used it yet for any athame purposes. I keep thinking I might like to eventually though. I would want to spruce it up a bit if I did though.
15. How often do you meditate? Very, very infrequently at the moment, unfortunately. I really should start doing it more often.
16. Do you do yoga? Nope, although it might be nice to start doing now and then.
17. Whats your favorite herbal tea? Tea in general is my lifeblood if I’m very honest. In terms of herbal teas, I’d say chamomile is up there, maybe with ginger, lemon, and honey in it. Jasmine is also very nice. Apple tea with cinnamon and cloves is absolutely delightful.
18. Do you support manipulation magic? One of my personal rules is not magically messing with people without their consent, so manipulating people directly to do what I want is kind of a no for me within my own craft. I’m not opposed to indirect action in some cases, like charms to keep creepy people away. I’m not sure what else this might be referring to? I don’t try to manipulate spirits or anything more powerful than me either. That’s not really what I’m about. Once again though, to each their own!
19. How many altars do you have? I don’t have any real ones yet, once again because I live with my parents ;^; I have a sort-of-altar to the Sun on pinterest. I’d love to have a few different real altars someday.
20. Do you do magic outside often? I haven’t gotten a chance, because it’s been cold out and I’m very much a summer person. I’d also have to find a place my parents wouldn’t see me. I might try doing outdoor magic when summer finally rolls around.
21. Can you read palms, or tea leaves? Not yet! Those are two more kinds of divination I’d love to learn.
22. Would you ever open your own metaphysics shop? Oh that’s a lovely idea... maybe in a few years when I actually know what I’m doing. I could make it cafe themed and kind of live out two dreams simultaneously...
23. Is your third eye open? If I’m honest, I don’t really mess around with concepts like the Third Eye or Chakras because I don’t feel like they’re mine to be messing with, so I wouldn’t know?
24. Do you like Astrology? Whats your sign? I have mixed feelings about astrology. It is nice though, one way or another. I’m a Leo, which is quite nice because that’s the sign that belongs to the Sun.
25. Favorite flower? Or Tree? I have a particular affection for pear trees, because my grandparents have had a pear tree in their backyard all my life (and now it’s my backyard). Also cedar trees. My favourite flowers are roses, lilacs, carnations, lavender, and tulips. And probably lots more, I love flowers.
26. Do you have an animal guide? No, not that I know of. I think I might have a guardian angel though?
27. Whats your favorite kind of magic? I really like making charms, I find! And charging them with different kinds of sunlight. I also really like magic having to do with fire. And bath magic. And tea magic. And working with crystals. I like a lot of things ahaha ;^;
28. What time do you feel most like a witch? I think... early in the morning, just as the Sun is rising. That time has always been very special to me, it has its own kind of energy. And also around sunset, I think.
29. Are you out of the broom closet? Ah, I don’t really love that term, but ignoring that... I’m selectively out about my practices. Most people who I’m out to about my sexuality, I’m also out to about my witchcraft. So, my datefriend and my other close friends. My family doesn’t know, and besides my brother, I’m not likely to tell them.
30. Are you a hereditary witch? Or self discovered? Self discovered! I think it was something that was inevitable for me though.
31. Are you in a coven? Or solitary? I am solitary, and I’m not at all interested in joining a coven. It would be nice to meet other witches irl to be able to talk to them, though.
32. Do you want to be in a coven? How big? Oh, I suppose I already answered this. If I changed my mind, however, and decided to join one, I think I’d definitely lean towards a small one.
33. When did you become a witch? Just about 6 months ago, I think? I did a small ritual to initiate myself. Didn’t feel right just jumping straight into it without doing a special little something.
34. Do you make your own spells? Um, kind of? I use a mix of others’ spells and trying to formulate my own. Although when I make my own, it’s usually just for charms, and it’s just listing the herbs, oils, stones, and objects I want to include. It’s pretty amateurish, I think.
35. Do you make your own sigils? Yupyup, so far that’s all I’ve done. I don’t make sigils as often as I’d like to, though.
36. Why did you choose this path? Because... it’s something I’ve always wanted. It’s been calling me, I think. When I was a kid I played make believe, making potions and using sticks as a wand or staff. As I got older I started reading about magic, but keeping it at arm’s length because I was still Catholic. I’ve just recently been able to finally get into it, and feel close to the world like I’ve dreamed of, and it feels so nice. And that’s what really seals the deal for me, I think, that close feeling to the world, and the universe.
37. Whats your favorite element? Definitely fire! Water would be my second fave, maybe with earth as a close third...?
38. Do you do any misc. magic? What would... that count as? Like stirring your tea clockwise? Or using perfumes that make you feel a certain way? Doing little, very personalized things like that, yeah, and I’d like to do more of it.
39. Magic or things you will never do? Direct love spells, without consent. Not that I need love spells, because I’m in the most wonderful relationship right now, but even little love spells for my datefriend, I wouldn’t do without asking them. Curses aren’t my thing, but under dire circumstances I might make an exception? I’m not sure. Generally calling upon dark forces is something I can’t see myself doing. Also any appropriative magic, I won’t disrespect people. There are probably other things, but that’s what I can think of off the top of my head.
40. Strangest way a spell backfired? Absolutely the wildest thing, especially since it was one of my earliest spells, but I made a good luck charm for my datefriend, specifically to help them get into a college program we both applied for. It definitely helped them, but at the cost of me very nearly not getting in myself, even after already having been accepted into it =P
I’m tagging: umm, anyone who wants to do this, I suppose. I don’t talk to or am mutuals with many (or any?) other witches on here yet, so I don’t think there’s anyone I could tag. But if I inspire you to do this, please do tag me!
