woke up today to people on here saying they're going down with the ship (much like twitter people) bc they can't keep up with multiple accounts to post on. all well and good, i get the slog of keeping up with making stuff to post and posting everywhere is A Lot but..

this is the nature of social media. everyone who's big on one thing or another, u can bet it's not their first and definitely not their last account. we have ALWAYS moved to the next popular or easy growth platform and if ur goal is to be seen.. that's just what u have to do.

we've gone from myspace, to facebook, to twitter, to insta, to tiktok, to youtube etc

i personally have gone from online MMOs, to finding gaia online, to deviantart, to tumblr, to twt/insta when people left tumblr, to back to tumblr, to over here.

if being seen by an audience is ur goal, u have to go where the audience goes. it's never a good idea to keep A SINGULAR account and never branch out to ANY other ones. at the very LEAST, have ONE other account somewhere and/or a personal website/links landing page for people to bookmark and check up on if u ever update it to being on newer/different platforms.

these popular platforms are running themselves into the ground either for greed or for hate and if people don't feel safe or feel they're financially predatory, they're not going to stay.

i think everyone needs to get comfortable with smaller/less popular niches again bc this is how it worked back in the days of the internet growing and people were still hugely popular and successful then. i'm personally having a lot of fun going back to gaiaonline. i miss forum message boards.

i genuinely don't mean to sound like a whiner of people not wanting to move platforms but it's extremely concerning that a CEO would follow a trans person they've banned off their platform to an outside platform to continue harassing them.

and also everyone is stealing our data x1000000000 so.. yea
