reading back thru some of my other fics while editing & i've come to the conclusion that the main thru-line of all my writing isn't actually grief or family or whatever, it's my inability to let anyone forget that these characters are bilingual

#if u look it is referred to in truly every fic ive posted in one way or another #for the record this is because im also bilingual. and in basically the same way that i imagine ryuu & kazuma are #in a 'learned a foreign language primarily beginning in late teens/early 20s' sense #im not japanese-english bilingual. if i was i would add way more linguistic fun facts into my fic lmao #(in susato's case i imagine she started learning at a younger age than either of them)#and u know. it affects how i navigate the world and my relationships!#i think the characters would also have a similar awareness of this fact
