what I��m trying to say tho is that at the end of the day, people should be able to do whatever they want with fictional characters and there’s nothing wrong with fantasizing - which I know is a dirty word to some, but still

if people fantasize about romantic scenarios including “will and mike making out sloppily,” how are sexual scenarios any different?

every fandom in history with teenage characters has had a spicy side. look at harry potter!

both finn and noah are adults too, so even if there’s a taboo related to “well the actors are minors,” that isn’t true and hasn’t been true for a while. sex is a part of, life and coming-of-age, and there’s a chance S5 explores that to some extent as it has done with jancy and stancy. byler will be around the same age and queer ships should be awarded the same desire

Yeah of course in the story it's aight I AGREE WITH THAT DUH but the people i saw talking about it were talking ab actors too (in that same way - and NOT what other scenes they've had in other movies but like, personal lives) which really made it weird, and ik u arent talking ab actors but still just to explain

Even tho i still find it a bit off putting considering it in the show(i promise i don't see Mike and Will like widdle babies btw), i don't really care otherwise

P.s. the "making out sloppily" ive also never been a real fan of but also i havent seen people talking ab it so explicitly so I never really cared

the byler script so like there was a script that came out, and it was basically the van scene and everyone was freaking out because while will was confessing he was thinking about how he was stupid and how he hated himself...the duffer brothers confirmed that the script was fake so we were all screaming crying and throwing up for nothing

eddie and his fans there's two different sides to this but imma be talking about the ones who don't deserved to be attacked so you know how in fandom people will sing songs and cosplay and shit at cons and on social media??? well naturally of course, people, mostly eddie stans, are doing that because that's what you do in fandoms. well, now people are calling this "cringey" and basically hating on cosplayers n shit, even tho it is not deserved in the slightest. and it's extra funny because they claim to love eddie but make fun of his fans for doing shit that he would probably do??? make it make sense

whatever the fuck the name of the award show is it's award season i guess and recently there was this show (can't remeber what they name is) that released their nominations, and everyone BUT caleb got nominations, including joeseph. like you cannot sit here and tell me he did not do some of the best acting this season??? i swear this has to be racist somehow

meg + natalia "beef" this is one of the stupider things on the list but natalia was on jimmy fallon and megan thee stallion was helping with the interview or something?? idk i haven't watched it yet, but people were upset because she kept asking questions about steve and jonathan but like...be mad at the people who wrote the questions not meg??? and then there was footage of natalia and meg at meg's album release and people were saying that meg was making her uncomfortable even tho it was pretty fucking clear that it was the cameras not meg...and meg literally told them to go away??? this fandom is weird istg

i actually heard of that one and is probably the only one from here i actually know and i just want to say that eddie is the kind of person that would do that/that would support that. idk why people can't just let people live.

caleb did some AMAZING scenes this season. the scene where max "dies"? that shit was the most heartbreaking scene i have ever seen and it's mostly because of caleb's acting. the "erica help" improvised line shook me to my core and made the whole scene more heartbreaking than it already was and i'm still not over it till this day. so if anyone deserves an award, it's caleb. this is the one i knew absolutely nothing about but if everyone else was nominated except caleb that i agree with you, it must be racism or it has to do something with racism. that or everyone who picks these nominations is blind af which i don't believe.

i also saw one video about that and i agree with the whole "why tf does she only get questions about her love interests" but also why would people be mad at meg?? she literally just read what someone else wrote.

i'm not on tumblr but i do check out the twitter fandom and if there's something that i've noticed about the constant byler/mileven ship wars is that while mileven shippers may be homophobic at times, i don't think i've seen them ever hate on will as a character (in fact i'd say the majority of them think will is gay). but i can't say the same for byler shippers, most of them hate eleven but more importantly are incredibly ableist towards her. they make fun of her communication issues (cont)

(Continued) which are a result of her being emotionally and physically abused for 12 years of her life, they constantly talk about her having the mentality of a toddler (which i don’t get but alright) and there are people who even wish for her to die (just how depressing would it be for an abused child like her who barely tasted freedom to die? but most of them only acknowledge will being abused, but at least will had a loving mother, brother and friends). and a lot of them are mad at millie getting more attention than noah award wise and they take it out on eleven. talking about how will is the main character of the show (debatable) and that he should be more popular (not millie/el’s fault). eleven had a bigger impact culturally than will and that’s the truth. ultimately can we stop shitting on eleven simply bc of stupid ship wars? how predictable that slash shippers shit on a female character in between their ship. i’ve seen it in countless other fandoms. sorry for the rant

I can’t say I’ve had the same experiences with the fandom but I see what you’re saying. I mean I’m gonna be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of Will, but that’s mostly just bc I’ve never really related to him or connected with him much in the show, and I’m sure for a lot of people they feel that way about El. I think a big part of what you ship just comes down to relating to the characters involved, so yeah I think it would make sense that for a lot of Byeler shippers maybe they just don’t relate to El as much, but I wouldn’t rlly say that equates to hating her? I think there’s def extremes everywhere. I think a lot of those hardcore shippers who HATE mileven and will make hate posts about it, a lot of that goes along with hating El, but just for general shippers I wouldn’t rlly say that I’ve ever noticed a problem personally? I think what you’re saying def goes along with this idea though of like, stop shitting on female characters for “getting between” your non-canon m/m ships, and that’s absolutely a problem in every fandom I’ve ever encountered, but I wouldn’t generalize it to all Byeler shippers or whatever, just those extremes that stick out like a sore thumb. There’s the extremes for every ship, and while rare, they’re def the ones who get our attention. 

Honestly I’ve just tried to stay as far away from this whole “ship war” in general so I can’t speak much for what either “side” is like so I can’t rlly agree or disagree with what you’re saying bc I just don’t know, but I 100% agree it’s time to stop shitting on characters over ridiculous ship wars
