I have never once seen Panther yowl, hiss, or bite hard enough to draw blood until today.
We have this metal shelf thingy- I can’t words rn but it’s really really weird- anyway we usually have the top shelf off but dad put it back on. And when I was getting Panther some food, she hopped up bc she wants to see everything and then her back paw got caught in this stupid, completely unnecessary hole along the length of the shelf right at the front- like what’s that for?!!?!
So she got stuck and started falling down with her paw stuck and I caught her and tried to help her and she. Flipped. The. Fork. Out.
Dad proceeded to be unable to hear me talking to him for like five minutes and refused to come past the gate bc his boots were all icy so I was near tears, trying to berate him for putting that stupid shelf back on that stupid, senslessly constructed thingy while he repeatedly said he couldn’t hear me, like?? WHAT DO YOU CARE ABOUT MORE, THE CARPET OR YOUR OWN FORKING DAUGHTER WHO IS LITERALLY SOBBING IN FEAR BC YOUR STUPID ACTIONS GOT HER ATTACKED BY A CAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR, WHO COULD’VE GOTTEN HER LEG BROKEN
I continued to shake for the last like hour, btw. Panther avoided me like the plague, dad does not seem concerned.
The forking shelf is still on the confusing shelf structure. I may have to yeet it into oblivion so this doesn’t happen to anyone again.
He’s just...
Ugh. He bathes the kitty, he cleans her litter box every couple of days, he trims her claws (with his shaky, shaky hands so it’s not good I don’t think, her claws het kinda ripped apart a little and when I suggested he not do it he asked if I wanted to like no I’m probably better shakiness wise but I can’t even keep this kitty from washing my face), and does not brush her teeth, something I constantly bug him about.
And she already almost fell off the cabinets (the tops of which are like two-ish feet from our very high vaulted ceiling) with a basket that she knocked off during dinner
He’s just awful at this. Mom warned everyone, when Panther was still a kitten and viewed fingers as prey that we were to never let her play with our fingers. And there Dad was, letting Panther pounce at his hands and attack his fingers. Add to that the fact that the first month he believed the litter box only had to be emptied once a week, and he’d just laugh whenever she viciously attacked someone, and you have a recipe for a badly trained/behaving cat in adulthood.
I just wish he would take my fear seriously? Like, he couldn’t hear me very well bc I was trying not to scream at him and explode into vengeful fury, but he could’ve at least figured out I was panicked if he’d just cared enough.
This was my one day off. Utah never calls snow days, but it did for 3 districts including the community college, and I was gonna relax and try to regenerate some brain cells so i’m not working with 1/10 of a braincell but nope. Instead I get to be afraid of the cat for a couple weeks, probably. Which sucks bc usually I go to her for comfort but now she wants nothing to do with me and it wasn’t even my fault.
