Amor Omnia Vincit
@copypastus made some AMAZING ASTOUNDING BEAUTIFUL ART of tamlin ships and that king of hybern one has been swirling around in my head like a whirlpool so I’m now writing a one-shot for it. Here’s a part of it that I feel okay posting for now but I’ll post the entire thing once I’m done editing it to smithereens. Enjoy!
Summary: Tamlin has had everyone forsake him as a monster, barbaric, but little does he know that there is one who finds those beastly tendencies most appealing.
Footsteps that drew ever so closer with each passing step were the only noise Tamlin heard save for his own heartbeat. It pounded in his ears like a marching drum and steadily grew to a roaring thunder by the time those footsteps ceased at his left flank. It felt like the entire world almost seemed to hold their breath in anticipation. Everything narrowed down to the castle’s courtyard where two rulers convened.
“High lord Tamlin,” a voice greeted, letting the words linger on their tongue as though they were tasting it. Taking a silent breath, Tamlin turned around fully to come face to face with the King of Hybern.
The other’s head only reached Tamlin’s eye level, but that did nothing to draw away from the King’s looming presence.
“Your Majesty,” Tamlin bowed at the waist, those eyes watching his every move, “I thank you graciously for the invitation and audience.”
Tamlin looked up. The king was regarding him with unsettlingly wide eyes and a smile that could scare. Carefully, the lord raised back to a standing position, never breaking eye contact. Tamlin swore that the King’s smile grew.
“It brings me great pleasure to finally make your acquaintance, Lord Tamlin,” he said, and leaned in close.
“I have heard much about you.” He breathed out.
