I have been dreaming a lot of doing Latina!Reader, I am a bit afraid tho, because I don't know if you guys will like this. I made this with a Venezuelan!Reader in mind, since there aren't a lot of fics of venezuelans!reader, I always see mexican, argentinian, colombian, brazilian (american and european as well) and I wanted to give this a try.

It isn't too much tho, I just put reader a nationality and played with her accent, maybe in the future go in deeper with Gavi's reaction of having a Latina girlfriend. Hope you guys like it! I would appreciate if you leave some feedback!

Summary: You're Aurora's best friend and Gavi is crazy for you

It all had started when Aurora invited you over at her house for a college project. It wasn't the first time Aurora invited you over. But it was the first time Gavi was around.

Gavi was crazy to meet you mostly because nine out of ten times, his sister and parents were talking about you and stories the fourth of you had shared. Gavi's not gonna lie, he felt desplazed for a bit.

You having inside jokes with his family, made him want to get to know you and see what's the fuss about. He was confused, he knew and get along with all of his sister's friends. You must have been someone knew.

And you were.

Aurora confirmed his suspicion when he suddenly asked who you were.

"She's the new girl on college I talked about" She replied "Se nota que me escuchas cuando hablo" (It shows you do listen to me when I speak) Aurora complained

"Ajá... ¿Y?" Gavi rolled his eyes a bit ignoring his sister statement "¿Qué más?"

"She's new here, in general. She comes from Venezuela, moved in ten months ago, she has been my friend ever since I met her, she's so cool, Pablito. You'll like her"

"Yeah? Sure" Gavi raised his eyebrows and walked away

And that's how we came into the meeting day. You were laughing with Belén, Aurora's mother about a funny anecdote it happened to you while younger back home.

"Y naguará, no" You covered your face with your hands while Aurora and her mom laughed "I can't..." You were blushing of embarassement a bit when you heard footsteps

"Mamá, que-" Gavi had came in, just in a Barcelona shorts and a white shirt, his phone in his hand as he stared at you with wide eyes

You shut your mouth, looking at the boy as well with a light smile on, meanwhile his face was covered with a frown

"Hi" You had said shyly waving and Gavi swore he had never heard something more angelic than your voice

"Pablito!" Aurora exclaimed coming over to you and hug you "She's Y/N Y/L/N. My new best friend!" She squeezed you making you smile and hug her back "Y/N/N, this is my lil bro, Pablo"

"Un placer" You said extending your hand to him

He quickly got a hold of himself, grabbing your hand and stepping forward to give you two kisses on each cheek, his other hand rested lightly on your waist

"Igualmente" (Likewise) He had said with a smirk "Aurora doesn't stop talking about you, I'm happy I finally got to met the amazing Y/N" You blushed

"Thank you. I can say the same thing, you know... I think I already knew you before meeting you" He laughed

"Sólo le dije como te orinaste los pantalones en tercer grado" (I just told her how you peed your pants in third grade)

"Sabemos que jamás hice tal cosa... No en tercer grado por lo menos" (We know I never did such a thing... Not in third grade at least) He said making the three of you laugh

"In second grade too, right?"

"Oh c'mon, girl. Leave your brother alone and let's go do the project. I feel like it's going to be demasiado largo para nuestro gusto, so ¡vamonos!" You grabbed her shoulders and pushed her into her room

"¡Y/N!" Pablo called you before you could dissapear from the room

"What?" You turned around

"You like Doritos?" You nod several times "I'll take you some in a few" He smiled and you smiled back at him

"Gracias" You said softly

"There are no Doritos for me?" Aurora asked in disbelief

"There are" He said "But you have to look them for yourself, I won't bring you anything" Pablo replied as if it was the most obvious thing ever causing you to laugh

"Why?!" She asked as you pushed her onto her room

"Because she's pretty!" He said from downstairs as you stood there impressed and Aurora laughed at your shocked expression

And that was the beggining of you and Gavi.

You couldn't lie, el chamo was truly beautiful, he always took up on making you laugh and chatting with you about anything. Mostly of your life, he wanted to get to know you and everytime you tried to bring the convo onto him, he'd answer your questions but eventually turn it around to you, ending into telling him stories from your time in Venezuela, what you did as little and going as far to ask for your Uni stuffs even if he doesn't understand anything about Statistics

"La malta con una empanada de carne mechada y con salsa de ajo es lo mejor de la vida... Y ni hablemos de la arepa con suero" (Malta with a shredded meat empanada and garlic sauce is the best thing in life... And let's not talk about the arepa with whey) You always tell him making a smile appear on his face

He has been spending every time possible off with you, he even stole your phone number from Aurora's phone, winning a smack from his sister and watching you give a little pinch on Aurora's arm

"¡Ow, bruja!"

"Let him" You had said smiling

Because yes, you were also gone for your best's friend's brother, but you couldn't help it. It has been four months since you've met Pablo and they were the best four months ever.

Aurora often liked to make fun of the two of you, obviously into each other but not making any move. Instead of being mad, she definitely liked the idea of you dating her little brother.

You ignore her comments, even tho he gave you the impression, you didn't know if he liked you back. And you weren't going to make things awkward in between the two and currently three of you because of that.

You were chatting with Aurora and some of Pablo friends like Pedri, Ansu, they have came from training and all decided to spend a nice evening and also two of Pablo's childhood friends, meanwhile you were studying and chatting around with Aurora.

You laughed at something Ansu had said

"¿Qué? Mano, ¿Que webona' es esa, ah? La coña 'ta burda e' loca, 'sie carajo" (What? Bro, what the hell is that, eh? The girl is out of this world, fucking hell) You reply shaking your head

"For real, Y/N!"

"Pero explica bien la vaina, que fue lo que pasó. Pasito a pasito" (But you've got to explain yourself properly, everything that happened. Step by step)

"¿Suave, suavecito?" One of Pablo's friends, Diego, chimmed getting a smile out of you

"Well, I didn't say it with that purpose but it does go well" The guys laughed.

As Ansu started telling once more from the beggining his story with this girl, you felt an arm wrap around you waist and the other under your knees.

You turned your head to the side and looked to find Pablo, lifting you from your spot that was next to his, to pull you right next to him, without any kind of space. He also grabbed the chair and pulled it closer to him.

"Why?" That's all you asked softly

"You were too far away" Pablo replied audible enough for the two of you, you blushed and leaned a bit into him.

You kept on listening Ansu, the guys sharing your statement and telling him it was the best if he left her.

"Y/N/N" Aurora called for you "Go and bring us some snacks?"

"This isn't my house" You replied.

"Of course it is! Just go inside and grab some snacks for us to eat"

"Why don't you just go?" You ask "I'm way too comfortable here"

"You're younger!" She exclaims as you roll your eyes, standing up

"I'll come with you" Pablo said "I can help you with the drinks"

Both of you entered the house, you went to grab the snacks as Pablo grabbed a Coca-Cola and a few vases, when his phone dinged.

"Aurora asks if you can do the bread and Nutella thing" He asks as you sigh

"Tú hermana jode mucho a veces" (Your sister is annoying sometimes) You said making Gavi laugh.

You went to look for the bread and the Nutella, cutting them and filling them up with the cacao. You were done with your job but you filled a spoon full of Nutella

"¿Quieres?" (Want some?) You offered him a light smile as he shook his head

"Cómelo tú" He smiled putting the Nutella away and helping you clean the little utensils you used.

Once you were done, you washed the spoon and faced Gavi only for him to laugh a little

"Please don't tell me I have chocolate all over my face" You begged covering your mouth with your hand

"Only here" He pointed at his lips the place

"Here?" He shook his head "Here?" He shook his head once more "Here?" He shook his head "Ajá, ¿Y en dónde es la vaina pues?" (And where's the thing then?) You ask making him laugh

"Can I?" You nod watching him step closer to you, he lifted one of his hand in your cheek lightly, caressing it with his thumb, your eyes locked with his.

His other hand came up to your face as well with this one, he swept his thumb over your bottom lip "Done" He whispered licking his thumb quickly.

But none of you bothered to move away from the other, instead you keep leaning in "Can I?" Pablo asked once more this time with different meaning.

You smiled and nodding soon you feel his lips locking yours in a kiss.

"You taste like cacao" He whispered above your lips and pecking them several times, you laughed looking down at the floor but felt how Gavi's hands lifted your head making you look at him once more "I loved that"

You smiled, this time leaning up to kiss him wrapping your arms around his torso

"You don't know how much I wanted to do this ever since I met you" He whispered once more in between kisses

"Glad to know feeling was mutual" You giggled

"Go out on a date with me?" Kiss "Please"

"Joder, claro que sí" You kissed him once more

"¡Ay, Ave María purísima!" You heard someone say instantly separating from each other. Aurora was standing there with a big smile on "First kissing picture, I love it!" She said excited "Took you long guys!" She said coming over and grabbing the Coca-Cola, the bread and the snacks. "Leave you guys alone to keep doing your thing" she winked

"That was awkward" You murmur feeling Pablo smile and nod

"So.... When are you free?"

just stumbled upon this amazing video by obviously @freddiesmyqueen - since her videos are not available anymore, i almost screamed of joy when this appeared on my dash, shout-out to the person who translated and uploaded it tho <3 - about the always wonderful #rainbowdirection project by @takemehomefromnarnia and burst into tears and got inspired and emotional all at once AND since this is the post-too-much app here i am.

i remember very vividly the child i used to be watching the one direction videos. but i remember even more vividly the overwhelming feeling of boiling shame i had within me for being who i was.

i remember the version of myself that tried and tried tirelessly to fit into the molds of others' beliefs and

every trash principle i had heard since i was old enough to comprehend hateful words. i remember the version who hated and tried to hide her inner self every single day of her life. i remember how it hurt to look into the mirror and see someone i wasn't, because i felt like an impostor.

but i knew, deep down i always knew.

then i discovered people. i started to live and discovered friends, idols. i found a love, too. i saw people holding rainbows signs. i saw people speaking up for those who couldn't.

on the other side, i remember very vividly the little fangirl i was and probably will always be. i remember the first time i felt excitement for a musical release. i remember joining fandom for the first time and i am very gladly i can still be a part of it, even in adulthood.

and to that girl, with too much love for pop stars and too much shame for herself, you can't imagine how important it was to see the people she looked up to affirming that love wins.

in my personal experience, coming out took a really long time. years and years of reflection and distance, but i always knew i could not hate the closeted version of me anymore, because i was not the wrong one. i feel pity for the way i hid, but i no longer resent it.

now, in 2024, still struggling with not being looked at the same way by close people, i still have this too much love for pop stars but now i am so unbelievably proud of who i am. so unbelievably proud of that little kid. for being brave enough to love, for questioning everything and never give up.

with time, i've learned that love gives you freedom.

sometimes they say nah, no one cares if a public person supports and speaks about lgbtq+ rights.

but actually yes, how important it is that the people you admire so strongly remind you that love wins. because love is love and it is freedom and it should be safety. i dream to live to see the moment when love also means being able to do it without a single fear.

every time harry raised a flag in 2015 and every time he raises one now; every time louis wore a rainbow or supports a fan who is afraid. there is always someone i admire reminding me that love is love. that helps pride — at least my pride. that is pride.

and i love them, honestly. always have, always will.

Time to finally relay my thoughts on the Les Mis I saw August 3rd, 2024.

Keep in mind, I went into this as someone who wanted to get my mother and brother to like this story. Also, I’ve seen a million and one recordings, so I know the show pretty well already and am aware of my preferences concerning it.

Act 1

Intro was so good. I like the boat format for the prisoners. It gives the actors something to do and is good and clear tonally.

This Javert did not make a strong first impression. He seemed extremely muted idk.

So I’m not a Nick Cartell fan. I’m sorry. I just don’t like him that much. I might be able to explain why at some point.

The lighting was amazing in these opening scenes.

The bishop had such a nice voice. I always love the bishop.

Valjean went nuts with the “took my fliiiiiiiiight”

Oh I forgot to mention that all of the house lights hadn’t turned off yet. It was a little weird. They eventually got turned off either before or after Valjean’s Soliloquy.

Speaking of the Soliloquy, I’ve heard a recording of this actor singing this song before and it definitely sounds better in person. Better, but still not my favorite. Nick Cartell has a tendency to stray from the melody for acting purposes in a way that I’m not a fan of.

Also, this version had Petit Gervais. It was weird. And distracting. And disjointed. I didn’t like it.

I love a good ensemble number, so at the end of the day was great. Also, the transition from the crowd to the factory was so smooth.

I remember the foreman I think had a line that changed from the original that I was kinda confused about. Overall, I think this was a thing with both at the end of the day and lovely ladies. Like there were a handful of words that were switched and I didn’t understand why.

This Fantine was quite good. Like I’m glad this was the Fantine that I saw with my mom and brother. Solid performance.

This Bamatabois was odd. I think he was too much of a caricature.

Once again, Javert is quite subdued. Intimidating, sure. But not all that interesting otherwise. No swagger.

The staging of Fantine’s Arrest felt just a little busy, but that’s really a nitpick.

When did they cut part of Fauchelevent’s line in Runaway Cart?

So I really listen for how an actors says the line “forgive me sir I would not dare.” This was fine. Nothing special.

I will say that I liked Nick Cartell’s version of Who Am I.

Fantine’s death was so sad. I prefer versions like this where they don’t have her get out of bed. It’s simpler and it gets across her weakened state a little better, I think.

Confrontation was amazing. This Javert was really starting to prove himself here. It’s like the actor just started having fun with it.

This little Cosette was absolutely adorable. I’m not usually a fan of Castle On A Cloud, but this was great.

This production had a good Thenardier couple. Their comedic timing was great. This is not to discredit the amazing job that they did, but I’m not a huge fan of the Thenardiers. My family liked them a lot though, so they were definitely very funny.

So Look Down was a success because my family immediately liked Gavroche. As they should. My brother said that that the Look Down melody was one of his favorites.

Now I think it’s good to mention that this version didn’t have the time skip projections. Like those things that tell you what year it is. None to be seen. It confused my family. I was cool with explaining it though.

My brother found Marius annoying. +1 sibling point. We can make fun of Marius now. (to be clear, the actor was very good)

This Eponine was pretty cool, but my mom pointed something out that I think is worth mentioning. She’s not lit very well. My eyesight is shit, so I’m trusting my mom when she said that it was impossible to see the actor’s face.

This Cosette is so adorable. Like everything about her so sweet. In love with her.

This scene had an interesting set design that I don’t know if I’ve seen before. It looked a little more slanted than usual. It was cool though.

The beginning of Javert’s Intervention got a laugh, so that was good. He really leaned into the drama more than before.

During Javert’s Intervention, I tend to find Thenardier’s part a little overwrought and distracting. Unfortunately, this was one of those cases. My brother liked it though.

Javert kinda went back to being subdued for Stars. Actually no. He brought some energy for “and so it must BE”

Les Amis in this production were fantastic. My mom really liked Red and Black apparently.

This Enjolras had a weird fluttery vibrato that I’m kinda obsessed with.

Kyle Adams’ performance as Grantaire was magical. I don’t know if I can point out specific moments, but it was fantastic.

I am once again in love with Cosette.

Neither my mother nor brother were fans of the romance aspect of the story. I don’t blame them.

That said, the harmony at the end of heart full of love was angelic.

One Day More is always a showstopper. No notes.

Actually, I will mention that Javert hasn’t changed costumes yet. We don’t get to see his disguise til the second act. I kinda like that because, if you don’t recognize him immediately at the barricade, it makes the reveal later kinda fun to watch.

I wonder if people realize that it took ND in the early days almost 10 years to get this big. Gwen is a wonderful singer and performer. But even with her in the band, it took a lot of years for their breakthrough!!! And then people think that the guys in DC would get as high with a good singer and them being in their 40’s. No matter if Gwen performs solo and a lot less during the year, she already had her name, she was the frontwoman and totally in the picture. The guys are equally as wonderful, but they form the band, not the vocals and that will always be more difficult to start up something new. Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac went solo and if she did, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie and Lindsey Buckingham would do other projects, but never together. Lindsey even did go solo and he is an awesome guitar player, but even he wasn’t able to get as much succes. Lou Gramm (he was the singer) of Foreigner went solo and he had succes. Mick Jones needed another singer and it took years to find Kelly Hansen (after Lou Gramm left for a second and definitive time). But Mick was the owner of the band and was able to keep the name Foreigner. They made one new album, the rest were best of’s and the touring was all about the old songs that Mick wrote together with Lou Gramm. That is why they kept having success. Most bands who fall apart is mostly because of some drama that goes on, but when the singer leaves, it really leaves the rest of the band in loose ends. It would be the same when John Bon Jovi would leave Bon Bovi. Would you really see the rest of this band getting on a new project with a new singer and having success? It was already difficult that Richie Sambora (lead guitar)left, but if John would leave, that would be the end for all the rest of them.

Love all this music trivia. As someone who had the Buckingham Nicks poster on my wall for years even though they weren’t my generation of music, I have to give Lindsey props for Trouble. And of course the equally brilliant and annoying Holiday Road. But points taken.

And Davey Havok is an incredible singer. Really good! It’s just that so few people have the lyrical genius, the iconic looks, the charisma, and the stage skills of Gwen. Mick Jagger does. Sting. Stevie is close but can’t work a stage like Gwen. I saw her a couple months ago and she is still amazing tho! Linda Perry. Rod Stewart. Don Henley. All check so many boxes but Gwen is so elite among them for what she can do. She just chose family over more fame.

Sometimes I think Gwen had more fun when ND was bubbling under and had small time fame. But she was always destined to be a star and this road led her to Blake.

Mafuyu was always such a good girl, always so eager to help with a smile and won't ever say "no" to someone in need. How could you not really fall for her? She was perfect! So of course she also had a lot of other admirers who felt the same way about her...

You knew you had to act quick if you want to have some chances but the thought of confessing to her was scary... what if she won't return the feeling and will hate you for that? What if whole school will know about it and everyone will turn against you? You couldn't help but think if any of these can actually happen... even tho you could logically tell it wouldn't, the words "maybe it will" were crossing your mind.

Maybe you wouldn't be so scared if one day you wouldn't eavesdrop on Mafuyu's conversation with some male student. You really still remember clearly what it went... he confessed to her and she rejected him. She wasn't mean or anything like that but just the fact that your love rejected you, without giving you another chance was unbearable! So of course you had a goal: you had to become better. But it's up to you if you actually tried or have up midway. Despite if you tried or not, you still were scared of rejection so you stayed quiet... hoping that she won't notice as you two continue to be nothing more than friends.

"She's so out of my league... there's no way someone like her would actually tolerate someone like me..."

On the other side tho, Mafuyu didn't understood a thing... Why did she felt her heart flutter whenever you're near? And why it's easier for her to smile whenever you look in her direction? Others from Nightcord said it's called love... But what is it even for? She can live without it. And besides, even if you'd feel the same, you'd love "good girl" not her true self...

this year i started work on a personal writing project!! it’s nowhere near completion, but i’ve made so much progress in the span of this year that i genuinely believe it could be released some day! creating an entire fantasy world from scratch has been hard, to say the least, plus developing so many different characters, but this world has become so big and interesting and im so excited to share it with everyone!! idk what that will be, but maybe i’ll be able to share some artwork next year?? no promises tho oops

this is also the year i realized im aromantic and asexual. i genuinely didn’t think this would happen, but im so glad i finally realized myself! knowing that this is who i am has made life much easier to navigate. im now able to be true to myself without getting bogged down by the nonsense of romance and sex which is honestly great! im glad this is who i am and im proud to call myself aroace

but most importantly!! this year i met someone who has changed the course of my life for the better. i met the kindest and sweetest girl in the world who has given me the most beautiful and comforting queerplatonic relationship i could have ever asked for! the way we met honestly feels like destiny, because there’s just too many coincidences for it to simply be accidental haha

L'Arc-en-Ciel is a Japanese rock band that has been around since the early 90s. I believe they are on indefinite hiatus for quite awhile while they work on other projects. the lead singer Hyde has another band called VAMPS as well as does his own solo stuff. I love his voice and I love this band in particular. Definitely my favorite Japanese rock band. And Blurry Eyes may be one of my favorites if not my absolute favorite Laruku song. It's a very old one. But look how pretty Hyde is!

Permission to Dance by BTS is just a good time meant to bring positive, happy, fun vibes to the world during the time of covid, and it really did exactly that. They even incorporate sign language into the choreography which is just plain COOL! I love BTS so much they are my babies.

Kylie Minogue is a queen. She's an Australian icon with so many amazing songs. Her songs are perfect for dance clubs, especially gay clubs lbr here. If you have not listened to her songs, I highly recommend her. She's also been around since the 90s I believe, so there's plenty of songs to listen to! Chocolate is an incredibly addictive song, just like chocolate ;)

Julian by Lou Lou. I actually found this song by accident while browsing spotify looking for songs for a playlist for an original novel I'm writing! I don't usually do that because tbh I prefer quiet when i'm writing, but I wanted to try something new and omg it's PERFECT! I mean, the name Julian is literally the name of the love interest in the novel! And the lyrics to the song are absolutely on point for exactly what happens in it too??? It's actually kinda insane how perfectly this song works for the book I'm writing. It gives you the exact right vibe. Love it so much.

since i know there're people who like to read my opinions on the different seasons, here you have my thoughts on this (HOLY SHIT OMG WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON???????????) season.

akiba meido sensou (7.5/10)

so, i never meant to watch this show. i thought it would be just another CGDCT slice of life where maids do their maid stuff, and they have fun... I WASN'T EXPECTING THIS THO. this series is crazy, like, the first ep starts with a maid being shot in the head like ??????? and then ranko (best girl imo) starts shooting this rival maid group along with a cutsie song like ??????????????? i was both confused and charmed. this anime is such a blast, it's filled with twists and turns, random shit that it's bizarre but it also makes so much sense. i can't fully explain it, you need to watch it.

akuyaku reijou nano de last boss wo kattemimashita (4/10)

dear lord the toxicity here is astronomical. the way i was looking for a hamefura replacement and i ended up getting this... i feel scammed. this was meant to be a fantasy romance story, but it ended up being a contest to see who's the most toxic person in the relationship. between throwing someone out of a flying carriage just to see them cry and almost stabbing someone on the crotch because they want to break off their engagement with you... i don't know who's worse. they totally deserve each other.

blue lock (8.5-8/10)

i cannot decide myself on what rating i should give to it. while i do love bllk and think is one of the best sports series i've ever read, 8-bit's adaptation is... interesting. while i did think the first episode was amazing, the visual level just started dropping. some of the hand-drawn animation looks weird, and the cgi sometimes looks like it has been taken from a mobile game. i have mixed feelings with these series; while it's still fun and interesting, it just doesn't kick me as much in the chest as the manga does. if you wanna start bllk, please read the manga first.

bocchi the rock! (6.5/10)

as i said before, i'm not a big fan of CGDCT, and this series is just that. i was into the music part of the series and bocchi's social phobia (which, as someone who went through it, i think it's a pretty good representation), but it's still not my cup of tea. it bores me at times, and i'm the one to blame. it's not bad, it's just not my thing. if you're into this kinda stuff, i fully recommend it.

boku no hero academia 6 (8/10)

NOW THAT IS A GOOD SEASON. this one's adapting one of (if not the) best arcs in the series and hell yeah i'm hyped. in case someone hasn't started it, i won't spoil anything. i'll just tell you to please not worry about the quality: the art, animation and everything in general is being tretaed with so much thought and love. i'm just so happy to see all of them back!

boku no roboco (4/10)

(at this point, i've only watched two eps. my opinion on the series may change) i know the manga is popular, i know it makes a lot of anime references. i wanted to try giving it a chance and oh lord. first, it's difficult to find. second, it isn't even funny. if i'm not dropping it is because the episodes are short and fuck it. but not because you make a shit tone of anime references means that you're gonna be funny.

just a pretty chill slice of life short series about a bunch of dorks trying to survive in the wild. they're all so relatable and idk what to think about it. babe's also pretty absent-minded, so this is pretty comfy to me... is this how #representation feels like? besides that, there's not much to say about it since it's just... that. they exist, and i'm happy they do.

second season of "don't get attached to the cast because they're all going to die". at this rate, i think i'm made of stone because i haven't shead a tear in the entire series. i'm also getting use to the show's formula (introduce new character → make you feel attached to them → kill them), so ig that's also why i don't feel that sad anymore? idk, i do feel sad but not that sad yk. anyway, is as good as the first season so you should give it a try.

fuufu ijou, koibito miman. (6.5/10)

i started not liking the series (the male mc was annoying to me and i felt like he would only see the girls by their "personality"), but i ended up getting attached in some sort of way? it's an easy to watch, funny romcom that, even if it's nothing special, will entertain you for the time being.

kage no jitsuryokusha ni naritakute! (5.5/10)

i like the idea, but not the execution. i mean, kinda. it started being a parody of isekai series, but i feel like isekai is slowly but surely eating the show alive. i'm not that interested on the plot and the ecchi scenes and comments are... something. to give you some example: there was this scene where these girls would pose in ways others could check their breasts better and perceive them as bigger than their opponent's. or maybe the many comments they do about the protagonist's dick being a fricking sword????? umm not thank you.

koukyuu no karasu (7/10)

a historical fantasy shoujo series with interesting plot points and a cute romance?? hell yeah, count me in! each and every character is lovable af and trust me when i tell you you'll never get bored. the art is so cute and comfortable (idk how to explain it), and the romance is just... i just want them to date already, am i asking too much? definitely give it a chance.

mairimashita! iruma-kun 3 (8/10)

new iruma season and the first one i'm watching as it's coming out. the children are back and more chaotic than ever in this new arc (the best one yet, from what i heard). i just can't stress enough how this series makes me feel, how comfy it makes me feel. i've connected with the characters in such a way it just makes me smile every time each and every single one of them just appears on the screen. i'm so excited to see who'll win! (no spoilers please)

mob psycho 100 III (8.5/10)

this isn't the last season. no, i refuse to accept it. even though many characters are getting their closures and all this chaos is going on and every wish of them to have a happy life has turned to ash. this is not the end. and that never happened. no. just. leave me alone.

mushikaburi-hime (6/10)

so, they're trying to bring historical shoujos back and while we did get some interesting results (koukuuu no karasu), we also got series like mushikaburi-hime. the series is about a girl who is obssesed with books and a dude that isn't, but because he likes her he's up to deal with that little trait of hers. and... that's pretty much it. the series revolves around their relationship (which sometimes turns a bit toxic due to the male mc). the female mc hasn't progressed in over ten episodes, she won't progress now. if you're interested, there it is. but it's not a series i would recommend.

renai flops (7/10)

i said it before: i love shitshows. this one seemed to be a parody on ecchi, harem series which caught my eye. i mean, the first ep involves the dog scene which is one of the most bizarre scenes i've seen on any romcom. at first, i was gonna watch it for the laughs from how bad it all was, but then the second half happened and it changed my view on the series. from a parody that makes things absurd on purpose to something else. i would recommend anyone who's interested to watch it and please, do not spoil yourself.

shinobi no itokki (4/10)

this show is about a dude who goes to high school and he gets confessed to by a girl he doesn't know. only that it wasn't a confession but a trap, because that girl was a ninja and was trying to kidnap him. but he's able to runaway because he has all these ninja abilities that his mother forced him to learn and never questioned why. and then his mum tell him they're actually ninjas and now he has to go to this ninja school that's literally a high school building in the middle of nowhere like ????? i thought ninjas were discreet???? except no one cares about the school because then someone (don't ask, don't remember) gets betrayed and blames the dude's clan and shit happens and wth is going on????

spy x family part 2 (8.5/10)

part two of this very wholesome but also very fake family! their shenanigans are as crazy as they were in part one, and we got introduced to our queen, fiona. also, the main fake couple are growing closer due to the mission and i think that's pretty cool now get married for real this time.

tensei shitara ken deshita (6/10)

just your average isekai with better than average animation and a wholesome bond between both leads. besides that, i have no much to say about it. i absolutely adore fran and amanda, but the whole idea of fran being op almost from the start is frustrating. i wanna see her grow, but this left me kinda cold.

urusei yatsura (6.5/10)

many people were hyping this show, and i do understand why. after all, it's pretty rough fighting against nostalgia. still, even though the visuals are so cute and the op and ed are pretty good, it just shows the series it's an old one. the comedy falls flat at times along with some characters, although it's still enjoyable. i don't know if i'll keep on watching the second season, but for now i don't feel like dropping it.

uzaki-chan wa asobitai! ω (6/10)

so, uzaki is back. the first season has never been one of my favorites, but i decided to give the second season a try and watch it as it was coming out and... well, it's uzaki. for some of y'all it may be hilarious, but to me it's just fine. it's boring most of the time, although i do like the idea of the mcs dating (please do so for fuck's sake). if you're into this kind of comedy, you should give it a try.

ugh yes that scene!!!! byeon woo-seok did such a good job at portraying so much just through his eyes!! it’s years and decades and timelines of memories just fully pouring in all at once — all the feelings he couldn’t explain and the weird scenes he kept seeing and the dreams!! all of them finally making sense! every puzzle piece falling into place

and then he gets hit with the emotions - falling for sol for the first time, witnessing the first timeline where he doesn’t save her on time, where she hates him and doesn’t want to live

to then jumping to the next timeline where she’s hugging him out of nowhere and knows his name- to falling for her even more and more. to more timelines and more precious moments with his sol; to confessing once twice three times and finally getting that reciprocated. it’s just-

he’s been living his entire life (4th timeline) walking this earth not realising this precious thing he’s been missing out on…even tho deep down he’s known. something was missing, was somehow longing for something but he just didn’t know what

and suddenly it all makes sense!! because of course it’s sol!!! ofc it’s her. she’s the reason. she’s what’s been missing

and he’s happy he’s remembering and devastated he ever forgot and lived 34 years without her without her memories or presence or existence. he’s so conflicted and everything is a mess but all he does know is he needs to go to her immediately. he needs to find her and hold her and never let her go.

no but honestly this show has grabbed me like no other show has in a looooong time- i know what you mean by the rewatch hahah! i tried to delay it as much as possible (i lied to myself) thinking it would feel more like watching it for the first time..but i caved so quickly

Jk, she looks hot and all and the devil scene is a serve but i am getting sooo tired of the cgi onslaught and the "random scenes of me looking cool" kind of concepts. I gettt the theme whatever but girl none of it is fun or interesting! Ari caused a stir with a similar mv concept a few years ago already!!! You waxed on and on about being a film nerd a while ago WHERE is that? And I knooow music videos are a different wheelhouse but you can do so many cool things with them and in the past Taylor has had amazing storytelling concepts and cool visuals and from like Lover onward it was like: "Teehehe look how many Easter Eggs I can drop in these 50 unrelated scenes filmed in front of a green screen". The fucking art heist music video she filmed in Liverpool better be good.... I am tired... (Sorry for being mean and rambling in your inbox it's just. Blergh!)

i totally agree and i'm not really a current mv aficionado (ask me about any mv from the 90s thru the mid 2010s tho i gotchu) but i can speak to how the cgi garbage onslaught is saturating film as well and it's soul sucking. look i get it that cgi is cheaper than it's ever been before and practical effects but so many "directors" use it as a crutch. it's just plain ugly for the most part and you can compare the practical effects in the LavHaze video and see how lovely and gorgeous and tactile something can be when done practically. it's just more tangible and quite frankly show's a level of skill and understanding of the medium and craft of filmmaking where cgi just shows the opposite. it's not going away, unfortunately, but there are still many directors out there who insist on practical or use cgi in really tasteful ways.

i also think many swifties don't want to reckon with this but she is a budding filmmaker (if she continues on this path) like she is JUST STARTING. which means she has no skills in this department. her mv's prior were amazing because they're made by longtime professional directors. and i don't care how good you are at storytelling in other mediums, filmmaking is a very specific and restrictive way of doing it. and if you're bad at it, it's VERY obvious, and it's like learning a new language. yeah you can write a stunning novel in english, but it'll take you at least 10 years to learn spanish competently enough to even attempt to write a novel in spanish that is as deft and skilled as your english one, and it will probably still not measure up. because a language is more than the words; it's also the phrases and the references and, well, you get the metaphor. creative skills take decades to hone. unless you're a savant, or someone with a singular, culture shifting vision (which she is not, not in film at least, sorry) it takes soooooo many films to really sharpen your tools and understand the craft. i'm willing to give her some slack in that department, as every MV she makes is just basically her film school projects, and film school projects are clunky and middling at best cuz you're learning. sometimes i like them, and sometimes i feel like they're just not quite there, but she's fortunate that she is afforded this many mini projects to experiment and find her footing before embarking on a feature. unfortunately they are also promotional material, so they must be bogged down with easter eggs and the like. i'm sympathetic to that, even tho i am, like you, also frustrated. I really hope the liverpool one is good. it looks like it had a lot of moving parts which is promising!! hopefully less green screen cop out garbage. fingers crossed!

one of my favorite bits ever since I read the fic as a kid who has just played portal 2 in elementry [yes I've loved it for that long, I still remember looking up GLaDOS x Wheately on my first shitty little windows computer when I stumbled upon it haha and man did I love it] was the one where Rick shows up, both bc its hilarious and very fun but also because it's just... It's such a delight. Everything about it. I've got so many lines from this fic outright memorized bc of how often I read it. If all fics were suddenly wiped one day this is the fic I would desperately try to keep archived no matter what.

ANYWAYS THO THE RICK CHAPTERS, not only hilarious but a great dissection of Wheatley's character and his true love for GLaDOS. The way his character contrasts with Rick is soooo well explored and in mere words is put out so plainly and well in character. Having Rick go full out Alpha Male Podcaster in this chapter was a great way to show just how well intentioned Wheatley always is. Rick speaks of trying to bed GLaDOS and who Wheatley is a little idiot who will never Get anything out of his relationship with her leaves Wheately baffled and confused. Because he's not in this relationship to try and wrangle something out of GLaDOS, Rick is projecting and Wheatley can't even seem to understand how or why Rick would view GLaDOS almost like an object for him to own.

It baffles and terrifies him. How could someone ever view the amazing, complex, powerful and beautiful GLaDOS like that? The way he starts to view Rick for the weirdo hunter/predator he is also shows Wheatley's intelligence, which is ironic but regardless. He might be stupid but he knows GLaDOS deserves better than that and that the way Rick thinks of and talks about her is demeaning.

But specifically these lines in particular.

everything about it potrays Wheatley so in character, the way his thoughts are so scattered, he gets off topic so quickly in a way that only makes sense in his brain. Me and Roddy have talked at length about how in this fic GLaDOS and Wheatley easily potray neurodivergence and Wheatley in particular has a very frantic fast and panicked mind. He screams ADHD or Autism mixed with an anxiety disorder to me. The way he thinks, the way he tries to talk it reminds me a lot of myself. Even if generally I find GLaDOS the most relatable character here.

Hell Wheatley after this thinks of how strange it would sound to tell GLaDOS he was visualizing her as a butterfly. Her brain just doesn't work the same way his does.

Not to mention it shows one of the best things about Wheatley's inner conflict here, how does he protect someone he views as so much more powerful than he is? He can't just disregard the idea of protecting her. Even if it doesn't make sense logically. He wants to protect her more than anything in the world, she might not need that protecting, he might not be able to do it, but those facts don't matter to him. His love for GLaDOS overpowers everything.

When Rick implies GLaDOS made a mistake Wheatley tells him bluntly GLaDOS Doesn't make mistakes, even when she herself has admitted it to him that she's not perfect. Wheatley just thinks the world of her and while Rick passively demeans her Wheatley sings her praises.

When Rick shoves him his instinct is to shove back but his second thought, what would GLaDOS want? This is the thing that makes Wheatley not like Rick, even in this part where Wheatley can be read as somewhat protective and possessive, this thought in particular shuts down the idea Wheatley would ever let such things overide GLaDOS' desires. He wants to protect her and keep her close to him, that's his first thought but his second? What does She want? What would She do?

THIS, is what makes Wheatley different than Rick. Wheatley doesn't want to warn GLaDOS about Rick so she won't hang out with other men or so she won't fall in love with them. He doesn't want her to do those things of course, but most of all he wants her to be able to make an informed decision about what she is doing. If Rick and her did get together, he wanted there to be no deception, no tricks or manipulation. That's what he wants for GLaDOS that's how he protects her.

It's not about keeping her to himself, it's about knowing if he lets go... She'll still be okay and happy.

The First Day of Senior Year

hi! my name is rei, nice to meet y’all :) i’m a super creative, super cool person who happens to be queer (i go by she/they pronouns) and I wanna share with you my high school senior year experience as a dual enrolment student. Senior year can be crazy and scary sometimes because it’s a glimpse into what the future may look like, but I want to use this blog series to show you that not all of these things have to scare us. Maybe we can try to find the joy in change, and face it head on with our heads held high. As someone who’s struggled with depression for many years now and is on meds for it, I know how terrifying change can be, even if it’s just a change in school or environment, but I want to show you that you can do it. Sure, they’ll be some bumps along the way, but let’s do it together :) So, let’s get into it! my first day…

August 22nd, 2023

Today was kinda crazy, but exciting!! I woke up at 7:30, laid in bed for a while and almost fell back asleep, then I took a shower and got dressed in my dope back to school outfit and rolled out the door. My campus this year is like 40 minutes away, and an hour with all the traffic, so I had to leave early but I got there on time for my first class; Earth Science. I picked it cuz I though it would be easy but I don’t think that’s gonna be the case lol :) that’s okay tho, it’ll just take some studying. we had a little intro, and then got some homework assigned. Nothing major, just some beginning stuff. Then after that, I drove around campus to find my next class: CERAMICS! I was so excited for this classssssss and it seems like it’ll be a really cool experience so i’m stoked for that. I guess I just wish I could have made some friends or something, but we’ll see. that takes time. After my classes were done I headed home, ate some lunch, watched some Stranger Things, and got ready for work. I work at a sub shop, and tonight I was closing. I also happen to work with my ex lol which is hilarious to me so we were scheduled together tonight but it was totally chill and we got out of work on time which was great, and then I spotted a cute guy and left a note with my snap on it on his windshield cuz i’m just so charming and amazing :) so yeah, today was fun. A little hectic, but that’s okay. Tmr I think imma catch up on some online work and then just finish my crochet project maybe? Or maybe i’ll go try to find some friends :,(

I don't have much to say about the new chapter other than it was really good. And I loved that it was so long, i normally hate it cause I get bored really quick while reading so i take a lot of breaks but this time it was actually ok (even tho it took me 8 hours to get through😅)

The fight really pained me but at least it ended good. I feel like ever since I started reading your stories I have become more emotional cause some things I read and find sad now I normally would never give a shit about it, like I was about to cry when Leigh and y/n fighted and I never do that (it might actually be because im getting older and almost not a teen anymore but I choose to belive it's your amazing writing)

I got the biggest smile on my face when Leigh said "I love you" and "I do love you" when she said the first ily I was like "finally" but the second was so damn cute cause she reassured y/n.

Question - are we gonna learn about what happened to y/n's father and brother?

Ps earlier i didn't mean to make an assumption about your body/look i just meant that you gotta be in good shape to run a marathon cause that's really impressive to do.

Hi again! :D

Typically, my longer chapters don't resonate as well, likely because they are, well, long. I considered keeping the date chapter brief, but it's the only one where they engage in deep, meaningful conversations, and I really wanted to highlight that.

It was initially 10,900 words, but I managed to trim it down to 10,700. I believe I could make it even shorter with another round of edits. Regardless, the entire fic will undergo a thorough editing process before I release the PDF version, similar to what I did with In Losing Grip.

I ramble too much :P

Oh my gosh, you're so young! I'm excited for you to experience the full spectrum of emotional and mental growth as you head towards your 30s. It's quite a journey. Growing older can be a lot of fun—at least, it has been for me.

p.s. it was me who projected my idea of a person in "good shape" :P sorry! you're right, someone who is in good shape doesn't necessarily have abs, but it's the first thing that comes to mind. im kinda obsessed with having them, and it's so. damn. hard. :(

The wives not commenting was the good part tho no pressure no demands no name calling. Telling someone to not sit and putting stuff down on a chair doesn’t count as a nice encounter but I’m glad Gwen gets to make memories that tie to her childhood and early years with Blake and her kids.

I’m not as sure as some others that Blake is/was the main contention between Gwen and the ND guys. I just think he’s a nuisance to them because he empowers her and makes her feel strong because he is so has her back and thinks she’s amazing. I do think they don’t like Gwen to be herself because they feel it reflects back on them. If she is on The Voice or the country charts, they feel like it lowers their stock. She loves those things and is comfortable being her authentic self. They want to look cool and are terrified to be deemed sellouts. Basically, they believe that they are more authentic artists (interestingly, just like GR does).

But, I do think after 9 years they finally got the message that Gwen is going to be herself and that her kids and Blake and her happiness with any project she does will always be part of the deal now. So, hopefully they know that treating Blake as part of the group, and with respect, is the only path forward for ND. I want to believe that it wasn’t saving a seat as much as finding a way to make small talk and be friendly. Based on past posts and likes, I will always side-eye the ND wives though. Gwen delivered at Coachella. She gave a masterclass. I’m sure they were all in awe and a little scared because it is clear the ball is in her court and so is Blake.
