Do you think fiction affects reality?

ouuuuuu, this is a conversation that is maybe too mature to be on this app 🧜🏽‍♀️ .. tho i’ll say, ‘yes. but also, depends.’

as someone who majors in psychology-ish studies, revolving around neuroscience and how the brain works (especially for children/teens/adolescents), fiction does affect reality on multiple levels, perhaps not all. there is no denying that, whether you like it or not. there’s been many examples of that throughout our lives. many people are affected by the fiction they consume and they simply do not realise that.

for some it’s visibly possible, big impacts — for others it could be subtle, tiny impacts that are subconsciously stored in the brain after consuming the fiction. the first is harmful, the latter could be but necessarily doesn’t have to.

people are quick to say that fiction does not affect reality, yes — perhaps not for you (or perhaps you arent just aware of it) but it definitely does for others !
