if you're afraid of something, research it. chances are it's not as scary (or, at least, not as likely to happen) as your anxiety is making it
#nerd alert#i did this with nuclear accidents/radiation and now am doing it about theme park ride accidents#it helps that those things are also morbid fascinations but that does also lead to me hearing about them enough#that it makes them seem like scary things#but yeah roller coasters are super safe actually#its like plane crashes. you always hear about when they happen but ppl fly every day with no issue#nuclear power plants are similar most of the famous disasters happened bc of cut corners for money reasons#if ppl are trained well and equipment is maintained its incredibly rare for anything crazy to happen
