     if you asked nemo how long he had been standing there, he probably couldn’t give you an answer. the man who usually had to keep a strict schedule of the night’s hours would often lose himself at the strangest of beautiful inconvienences. this time he had walked in on an art exibition, looking for the possibility to invest in art for his own home. he didn’t think he’d find anything extraordinary in a gallery for photography, since fine art made of oil paint or carved of marble was more of his usual taste; but he was wrong.     he stood in front of a photograph of the sun raising. the crispness of the picture, how the first rays of light cast orange beams onto the foreground bewitched him. it reminded him of a warm feeling that he had once felt, but it felt so distant he might as well have dreamed it or read about it somewhere.     it wasn’t until he felt eyes at his neck that he realized he had blocked the view for another visitor. he turned his head around over his shoulder & pierced through the stranger with icy blue eyes. at first he forgot his manners, but once he caught himself in a blank stare, he managed to form a gentle smile.     “ ah, sorry. “ he excused himself. in his hand he held a glass of liquor that he had been offered at the entrance, & he put it up to his lips, but only seemed to inhale the scent rather than sip out of it. “ i didn’t realize i was blocking the view... but it’s just remarkable, isn’t it? the picture moves me somehow... “ he hummed while taking a graceful step to the side. “ it impresses me how someone can be talented--- or perhaps just lucky--- enough to capture a perfect moment like this on film. “

so some points of discussion that i’m going to ramble off about while i try to dredge up the inspo to do some replies---and spoiler warning for anyone who hasn’t made it to mission 970 and doesn’t want to know what happens:

-> first things first, not to be THAT guy, but i’m tired of the pacing of the recent kh games being so??? inconsistent. there’s this lack of Meshing between the disney worlds and the original content that’s become more and more stark with each installment. it’s plodding through some settings that Just Happened to be associated with disney, occasionally peppered with Some Interesting Events that Just Happened to utilize some of the disney characters, and then EVERYTHING HAPPENS SO MUCH in the very last, often over-complicated segment of the game, then it’s over. maybe it just comes with the territory owned by mr mouse that a good chunk of it just has to be just the Pure disney stuff, Good vs Evil and all that, and only once that caveat has been filled THEN we can inject the oc storyline. but the info dump is always ridiculous and overwhelming sometimes, and khux has certainly been no exception to this pattern

-> and continuing on the note of Aspects I’m Not Wild About, the difficulty curve within the last handful of missions was Atrocious. i didn’t have to do much manipulating with my medals until dealing with those cy-bugs and my LORD i was basically dragging myself through it with every last ounce of patience i have, and i like to think that my equipment is nothing to scoff at. so i’m not looking forward to the upcoming missions because i’m preparing to get my ass handed to me more times than i’d care to tolerate 

-> but primary complaints out of the way??? i’ve honestly become too endeared to my head-empty mousey boy. he is a simple bean that loves his friends and cake and is voiced by ron funches do not @ me uvu

-> and on the subject of the plot itself, in spite of pacing issues, i’m actually pretty pleased with a couple of plot points revealed within the recent missions. for one, i’m definitely intrigued by “darkness” being some kind of sentient entity, and even MORE interested that its angle could be perceived as not ENTIRELY evil, but simply serving a purpose at the behest of “fate,” and that’s neat because then we can delve into all the Moral Quandaries this can present. and some of that dialogue actually had me :0! like?? referring to mom as “an old friend?” saying it was watching as the book was being written?? that’s cool and mysterious without it sounding.... stupid, as some Fake Deep content tends to be

-> also lol at lauriam saying to strelitzia “you can carry me through battle” and then his final boss form as marluxia riding on some huge lady-shaped nobody thing. credit where it’s due, that’s a good connection right there.

-> speaking of strelitzia, i had expected there to be more of her and was disappointed when there was only a few scenes of her?? and also elrena. pls nomura PLEASE give ur female characters a chance i’m begging you :’<

-> uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhh luxu is babey. and no i will not redact this. 

-> the time travel plot with maleficent is........ hmm. tbh it’s a chore to articulate my feelings on this point. because on the one hand, i’m willing to invest my interest because maleficent was such a badass in the first game, but simultaneously it feels like she’s been watered down to a point where... she’s just not a threat. and also pairing her with pete was.. awful. i hate it tbh. he’s seriously cramping her style. >:/ but at least it kinda tied into the time travel rules and explained how she came back in kh2 so. that’s something at least???

in terms of predictions?? i’m not gonna bother thinking too hard. i’m willing to speculate over the possibilities---there are some theories that i’m endeared to, no doubt---but i won’t let myself be absolutely married to anything. because the thing with the kh series these days is that it’s prone to throwing in plot devices at the last minute for the sake of making a cool “plot twist” (re: the introduction of time travel in 3D) so tbh if they REALLY wanted to make, like, the master of masters a yen sid from an alternate universe, or that pluto is a past version of goofy, or kairi is xehanort’s mother from a different timeline, they could twist the plot to do any of that, and call it a “plot twist”

all in all, though, i feel like the best thing i should do is just.. sit back and roll with it. doesn’t mean i WILL, but by god if i’ve got my soul sold to squeenix i may as well TRY

annnnnnnd i think i might be out of steam atm so if someone wants to pick up one of these subjects i’m throwin down?? have at it 

finally slogged through the remainder of the missions on khux thus far and i have........ thoughts.

Then I discovered is a non binary character and i was surprised! i love seeing fanarts being male and female but in my head is a girl because i see it funnier and cooler that way ¿? another badass female of course uvu and jesuschrist, i dont believe in love at first sight but hanji was an exception??? plus, in some aspects we are similar like.. when she described how she feels about titans lol and having some as pets with names and stuff? i saw a bug the other day and i called him “Ted” but mom killed it then ahaha my sister once had a ant as pet called Filomena and its kinda fun lol when i was a child i had a snail i found in my grandmoms house but the dog ate him ;u;
