Having a mental condition doesn't automatically make you horrible
And, in those fics, they never give him any actual support??? Even when his fears are completely reasonable???
He has been betrayed before, of course he is scared of people suddenly turning up against him
Of course he is afraid to lose the throne, who else will protect his family? Olympus falls without him!
In PJO TLT specifically: Of course he is afraid of not having the master bolt, it is a weapon of max destruction

#ngl when i read a pjo fic. specially a reading the books. i get the sensation that everything is somehow chiron's fault#dude saw a fricking fury trying to kill percy and. instead of being a responsible adult and getting the kid to camp#or simply telling him about it. he said “he needs to mature more”#knowing that maybe another monster will find him and they wont be that lucky. and that he wont be careful if he doesn't know#even after thalia#scratch that#he knew a fury was there and didn't do anything to protect percy. NADA#forces grover to lie. gaslights percy. doesn't explain anything in camp either#genuinely. i would not be surprised if he just wasnt reporting anything back to olympus#yes. the gods would realize if they looked at camp. but why WOULD they? they trust chiron will do his FRICKING JOB#you know. the thing thats also keeping him alive. didnt he say that he only would be around as long as he was needed?#you wont be needed if all demigods die bc YOU didn't bother to actually explain anything#or if they betray camp bc YOU didn't actually explain why the gods couldn't be with them#if monsters find demigods because of the scent. wouldn't the scent be more powerfull if they were constanly visited by their parents?#you know. the ones they get the scent from?#sorry for the rant#i really dont like pjo
