So I recently saw someone I followed reblog a post complaining about "antis". The first like I saw in the notes was yesjej*nus, because of course. I'm mostly sending this to you because I don't have anyone else to talk about such specific Tumblr drama to. I'm sorry :(
i think i saw this exact post and im so glad i didn't look in the notes before unfollowing ...
i just truly cant believe some of the ppl who get behind 'hrhr antis are censoring Creativity by having the barest standards of how to handle certain topics in fiction' and dont realize that like lmao publishing companies have even stricter standards? and there's reasons for that? bc we as creators are accountable for what we put into the world and if you aren't skilled enough to handle difficult subject matter tactfully then u shouldn't write it! but apparently having Common Sense is 'censorship' lmao
like its all so disingenuous these people don't care about censorship or creative freedom. They are the ones getting outraged at anyone who voices a different opinion than them or writes a character in a different way but they know they look sympathetic if they can misrepresent 'write what u want but be thoughtful and sensitive abt How and Why ur portraying certain things' as being some kind of Tyrannical Puritan shit where we are Banning stories abt certain experiences entirely. the brain rot of it all. i could write a goddamn essay on the intentional avoidance of critical thinking from these people
