rhys hawke makes me insane. hes so scared. Hes watched everyone he cares about die in front of him knowing he could have prevented it if he were just somehow that little bit stronger, faster. better. hes scared of dying too, of leaving the people he loves to feel the same grief and guilt he has, so much so he'll go against all other mages around him and be bullied into helping the religous army he ran from him entire life. hes terrified of blood magic and demons and his reaction is to attack from fear, and it only gets stronger the longer he goes on.
