NEW THEORY TIME!!! (spoilers for malevolent 39)
is the order of the fallen star the same cult that was in the hotel in leerie? Hear me out
In ep 39 we learn that you need a mask to get into the order meetings. It seems likely that the pallid mask could be this mask seeing how the mask allowed Arthur and John to see the monster in the mines, which we know is connected to Larson, a member of the order
also, with the new information about noel, it seems like Harlan could be tying up some of the loose ends from season one, for example, the whole deal with the cult in leerie seeing how it never got explained what their goals were or how they knew what Arthur’s decisions were and would be (I would explode if this finally got explained, this has been bothering me forever)
The only thing I can’t explain is why kayne would want Arthur at the order of the fallen star if they worship the king in yellow. Of course we have absolutely no idea what kaynes motives are or what his end game is (obviously he says he’s just bored, but I feel like there has to be something more to it). All that we know is that every deal kayne has made that we know the details of has ultimately kept Arthur and John alive, and together. This could be because these are the only things the two of them want, so it’s the only leverage he has, but either way, what is his goal in all this? (Maybe there’s different sectors of the cult, and only the one in leerie worships KiY?? I just can’t think of a reason why kayne would want to lead Arthur to a KiY cult)
Anyways, just another one of my silly theories, but it seemed plausible enough to post
