this boy,,,, i talk about how jeremy was manipulated a lot on here, but rich,,,, dear lord. he had his squip for two years. the mental toll that the squip is believed to have on jeremy, who only had his for a few months,,,,, it’s gotta be at least ten times worse. the guilt jeremy has? RICH BURNED DOWN HIS BEST FRIEND’S HOUSE IN A DESPERATE ATTEMPT TO ESCAPE THE ONLY WAY HE KNEW HOW, and JAKE BROKE HIS LEGS SAVING HIM. he was hurting enough to attempt suicide, and failed, and made things worse. imagine how fucking much that’s gonna hurt him now? 

not only that, he wasn’t his true self that whole two years with the squip. he was under the direction of the squip, everything he did was directed to him. he has to live with going two years without having been himself (massive massive identity crisis) having to learn how to function without the squip’s help, and Also, the squip helped with his homework, so he essentially missed out on two years of education without learning shit. and public education is broken, but i would imagine schoolwork would become so difficult without the squip, not even knowing anything they’re doing and not having the foundation of the past two years, not knowing how to study,,,, if he doesn’t fail out of school it’ll be a miracle. 

he was also in relationships that weren’t really real, ive talked about how his relationship with jake wasn’t real, it was all something the squip cooked up and the rich jake knows is really just the rich the squip allowed him to be. thus, they’re two very different people, and for two years jake was friends with basically a lie. and also HE BURNED DOWN JAKE’S HOUSE. so something tells me that jake, plausibly, would not want to be his friend anymore, and i don’t blame him, as much as i love rich. and what about brooke, or chloe? on top of everything else, he’s also loosing the people he’s known for years.

ON TOP OF ALL THAT, he told jeremy to get a squip. he has to live with the guilt not only of burning down his best friend’s house and his best friend breaking both legs, and ALSO all the bullying he did under the squip’s direction, he has to live with the guilt of making another person hurt like he did. 

AND ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT, HE HAS A CANONICALLY ABUSIVE FATHER HE HAS TO DEAL WITH.

ALL OF THIS, but the fandom doesn’t care about that shit, no no no no no (except some people who Do, im gonna promo some rich fics at the end of this for you). but by and large, people don’t give two shits about rich and make him the meme character, and the fire thing is just ‘oh well jake forgave him and that’s that! now they’re dating ☺️’ and they largely shove him into the background of squip squad fics.

the fandom wants to uwufy michael so goddamn much, but rich is the person who is hurting the most out of anyone (including jeremy) after the squip. they never have him hurt, they never discuss what rich has been through, it’s all michael & jeremy all the time. like??????? it baffles me beyond words. they give michael abusive parents (despite canonically having loving mothers) and never go into rich’s CANONICAL ABUSIVE FATHER.

and god, oh god, this goddamn weather by CupcakeOfAwesomeness (contains expensive headphones, it’s VERY DARK, an au where rich keeps reliving halloween.)
