وبحسب وكالة “أسوشيتد برس”، قال ضابط الشرطة، إلدوس مادهاي، إنه تم إنقاذ 12 شخصًا، مضيفًا أن أكثر من 50 شخصًا لا يزالون في عداد المفقودين في المنطقة.

من جانبه أكد بيناراي فيجايان، كبير المسؤولين المنتخبين في ولاية كيرالا، مقتل 15 شخصًا، وقال إنه تم إرسال فريق إنقاذ يضم 50 عضوًا إلى منطقة راجامالاي في إيدوكي مجهزًا بمعدات ليلية لجهود الإنقاذ.

وذكرت وسائل إعلام هندية، أن ضباط الشرطة والإطفاء موجودون بالفعل في المنطقة، وأن خطوط الاتصال والكهرباء انقطعت، كما انجرف أحد الجسور في المنطقة.
