Hard to believe, isn’t it?   To mark the occasion this year, I decided to do a version of a sketch by Alonso Ramirez Ramos, one of the great GF storyboarders (see below for the original).  Most obvious change, of course, was that I had to add Fiddleford.  (For one thing I didn’t like that empty area in the left; but also, Fidds deserves to be there too. :) 

And as always, remember, to quote Jason Ritter:

Gravity Falls is real, and it will never die.

A Human's Touch - HL2VRAI AMV

An animatic set to the song "A Human's Touch" by TWRP. The visuals are timed with lyrics, so I'll type the lyrics in quotes "like this", then explain the visuals, then move onto the next lyrics. I hope this format works well for all, and if it does not- feel free to reach out!

"Am I a toy to you, my love?"

Benrey stares up through Gordon's computer, standing on a black and white grid. He is in a beanie and jumpsuit, like many citizens from Half Life 2. He has a small mustache and a shadow over his eyes. He has a neutral expression. With each word of the lyrics, the camera zooms further out to reveal he is in a computer inside Gordon/The Player's room. The room has a PC tower, a chair, a desk, a microphone, a shelf with a VR headset and games on it, and a few posters. One poster is of "Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days" and another is of two chimps grooming eachother. With the following musical beats, the room changes slightly to show passage of time. The chair moves around, things appear and disappear on the desk, and the chimp poster is torn down for another poster that says "Gamer's don't die, they respawn." On the final beat, the player is sat at the desk.

"Just a thing to play and then throw away."

A computer screen with four applications shown on it: steam, discord, garry's mod, and Half Life. A mouse cursor floats over Half Life before retreating. The screen is shut off and turns black.

"I never asked for this."

Benrey and Coomer sitting against a black background. Benrey is turned away, hunched a little. The lyrics appear on his side of the screen.

Coomer is turned to the side, looking up with his hands grasped together and eyebrows worried. The lyrics appear on his side now.

The Chuck E Cheese shown at the end of the series, drawn in black and white. The screen glitches.

"A broken mess."

The Chuck E Cheese is now worn down and broken. There's a banner hanging out of it that says HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO before it's ripped off. Minions are laying in one of the corner buildings. On the righthand side you can see partially graffiti that says BUBBY IS BEST. In the background is the citadel from Half Life 2.

"Now I'm never enough."

Tommy and Bubby sit against a black background. Tommy is facing the side, with a worried expression, wearing a suit, his propeller hat, a bowtie, and holding a briefcase on his lap. The lyrics appear on his side.

"And it's almost too much."

Bubby is turned away. His fist is clenched and producing fire. He wears a tattered labcoat. The lyrics appear on his side now.

"For me to work..."

Gordon, against a white background, limp with lines attached to his hands like a puppet. His face is not visible.

"I need..."

A side by side of the player lifting their VR controllers and Gordon's hands lifting limply in game in sync.

"A humans touch."

Gordon's hands drop to his sides again as his head lolls to the side, rolls back, then he opens his eyes- a VR headset flashing over them at "touch".

Had some fun with my thought process for these designs so I thought it'd also be fun to share <3

The two of them don't have skin per se— Koda is described to be a being of obsidian in the show so I wanted to lean into that as an overarching theme for the vestiges, where the solid part of their bodies (I think all vestige forms are like 30%-40% magical mist/smoke/whatever and 60%-70% actual physical mass, though the makeup varies between vestige) more closely resemble minerals and the like than anything organic. Koda specifically was designed after marbled obsidian, and Benevolence after shattered porcelain that is repaired via the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with a gold dyed glue medium.

Benevolence only appears 'human' from about the chest up, the entire lower half of his body is a floating mass of hands and mist obscured by the robes the hands hold up. I like to think most vestiges look entirely inhuman like Koda does, but Benevolence assumed a (slightly) more human-like appearance after integrating himself with Hominine, likely in some attempt to appear more welcoming to his followers. His hair is also always moving as though weightless or underwater, functioning like the misty haze that makes up part of his form rather than how natural human hair should function. His halo also appears perfectly behind his head no matter what angle you look at him from, and can be slightly disorienting and almost nauseating to look at.

My Koda has antlers because of the Chaperones at the Auction choosing stags for their avatars, even if stags have no connection to Koda in canon I just liked the symbolism/look of it :3. My Benevolence is also blind, the significance of which I touch on a bit in this hc post abt prestige and its affects that I made a few weeks ago!

Other inspirations for their designs specifically are Kalameet from Dark Souls 1 for Koda and Miquella from Elden Ring for Benevolence!

JUNE OF DIALTOWN - DAY ONE: PRIDE

Norm has on a progress flag cape, and has a bear flag pattern on his bandana. He is seen visibly sweating in his astronaut suit and cowboy hat, fanning himself with butch flag-colored fan. Her expression is disgruntled.

Randy leans on his arm crutches for support as he walks forward; on his usual jacket are a bisexual pin, a genderqueer pin, and a trans pin. She appears tired but cheerful.

Oliver has his flannel unbuttoned with a tank top underneath, along with shorts. He has a Gilbert Baker rainbow sticker, an aromantic sticker, and objectum sticker on his phone receiver. There are five beads on his fez that make up the colors of the trans flag.

His right hand is in his pocket and his left hand holds a leash, which is attached to a harness on Gingi's back as it crawls on all fours. They both appear content, although Gingi has a more zoned-out expression. Gingi also has on a collar, with the colors of the polyamorous flag and a heart tag.

Karen has on a drawstring backpack, and is smiling as she gives a thumbs up. She has two bracelets on, one with the lesbian flag and the other with a repeating trans flag. Like Oliver, they also wear more summer-y clothing, with short sleeves and shorts.

Gif 2: Chanse stares at the crew behind the camera with a devastated smile. Off camera, Angela says, "Hey, it's okay!" Chanse starts to hunch forward sadly and the camera cuts to Angela as she reaches a hand out toward him. She calls, "Hey, hey, hey," at him through laughter.

Gif 3: Angela holds her arm up and keeps repeating "hey" at Chanse through laughter. The camera cuts to Chanse as he shifts his attention back to it. He enunciates disappointedly, "They're in my backpack."

post-canon jetko. Zuko isn't a rail-thin angry refugee anymore. Jet isn't hurting as bad as he did. He even finds himself new purpose after the war - hunting down still-rogue Fire Nation mercenaries and war criminals, housing orphans, and being occasional bounty hunter for hire (he's not as good as June, but he has his ways). And, of course, hitching a ride on the ship taking the Earth King's diplomatic embassy to the Fire Nation. The Avatar may have refused to kill the new Firelord if he steps out of line, but that doesn't mean Jet wouldn't. It's his job to go over there from time to time and remind certain people of this. If he so happens to have almost-civil discussions and intercourse with a head of state when he does so, that's purely incidental, and does not distract him in the slightest.

[ Jet really DID visit Zuko's chambers with the intention of debriefing with and analyzing him, this time. To see if he could manipulate some more aid out of him, maybe, (Jet could play him like a fiddle, it wasn't hard,) or to wheedle him for lodgings and food for himself, or to see someone that he knew was just as restless as he was, regardless of peacetime, regardless that he shouldn't still feel like that. However, he caught Zuko right after he had a... meeting. With an Earth Kingdom noble. And, well... when you grow up deprived you learn you don't turn down leftovers. Or sloppy seconds, as it were. ]
