I won’t lie, saw your post about how things are scary rn in the U.S. and… idrk what’s going on. Been avoiding it like the plague bc i’m afraid of the information i’m currently ignorant to. As someone who dwells on “what ifs” it scares me to know what is going on but at the same time i wanna know what’s happening since i live in the U.S too. Just wanted to share this. I feel bad bc of the fact that i been ignoring it, so i do wanna know what’s going on. I just want someone to tell it to me in a way that doesn’t feel like i’m being attacked for avoiding it bc i’m too afraid to learn the information by myself. But there may be some people like me out there.

Hi there, that's absolutely valid, it's been a bit of a mess and some miscommunications have occurred already (as typical always every 4 years here) and wanting to avoid all of it isn't unreasonable. Acknowledging but avoiding a subject is completely different than denial, and that's totally okay, I don't judge. I'll do my best to explain in a way that makes sense and that's hopefully helpful

Before anything else, let me preface this by saying that I am NOT a political scientist, I am NOT an expert in anyway regarding politics in the slightest, anything that I share below is based on my personal experience and research so please keep that in mind, I highly encourage you to check out the sources below for any further information. Having said that, here's what we know:

According to The Associated Press, and other news outlets, the current president elect is Donald Trump with 292 of the electoral college votes, races have not been called in AZ, NV, ME and AK.

Harris is set to give a concession speech at 4 pm EST today.

Republicans have control of the senate with 52 seats, with democrats having lost 3 seats and currently have 43. 5 remaining races have yet to be called. Currently, they are projected to be filled by Democrats by Associated Press and 270 to Win.

The house is currently still a toss up, 270 to Win projects 209 (D) to 213 (R) for 20 of the remaining 33 uncalled races. Again, 13 races are still a toss-up at this point in time.

If you want to see live coverage and discussion, or to see how things unfolded last night, CNN did have a broadcast going last night that was free to watch. It appears they've now taken it down. If I happen to find said broadcast I'll update the post with it as they do a good job of explaining things state by state, precint by precint. However, much like any other media outlet, they can be prone to bias (left-leaning) and potentially to fear mongering. Should you seek out CNN or any other news outlet besides those above please keep in mind that reporting may be influenced in certain ways because of this.

Having said all that, here's what I personally think this means and what can still happen, with facts mixed in for reference. Much of this is my opinion and should not be taken as fact unless it's cited. Again, not an expert, just someone with a very very basic understanding of politics and government.

With the win of the presidency and the senate, republicans are at the advantage. With senate control they will be able to assist with choosing the next presidental cabinet, and should there be a vacancy on the supreme court, assist with that.

However, if democrats can take control of the house, the win will be massive, and leave them able to have some say in the next 4 years, but nothing is for certain at this point in time

Democrats potentially have at least a little breathing room in the senate, they're not majority, but only 4 seats difference is better than nothing

We've gotten through a Trump presidency before, the situation then, as well as the feeling everyone has now is exactly the same. We made it through then, and we can make it through again

The senate is only guaranteed to be controlled by Republicans until the 2026 midterms, two years is a long time, but it's only two years

Having lived through the last Trump term in my teens and remember it well, yes he managed to do some pretty awful things, but he also undelivered in several ways, we can only hope the same thing happens this time around, this would be especially true should democrats take the House

He won't be back, if he makes it through the term he'll be too old and his health won't be great. Republicans didn't want him this time, they won't want him the next.

JD Vance and so many others will still be kicking long after he's gone though, and that needs to be in the back of people's heads when we get closer to 2028

Trump made a lot of empty promises he didn't keep before, and personally I don't think he beleves half the things he says, he just says it because he knows others do believe it. Giving up hope now for a better tomorrow won't make a better tomorrow, hoping despite it all will. Giving up also gives people like him exactly what they want, and I'm not about to do that, neither should you.

For now, be vigilant, stay safe, but try to relax. Doom-scrolling, wondering what might happen, and so on, is pointless because at this point, we don't know. Anything could happen, this election is a clear example of that.

First, I feel I would be the loveable side character doomed by the plot. I mean idk i feel like it suits me. I'm not main character or love interest so I feel like this is just right for me as a person

Second, the story would probably be like a rom-com type thing? (since im basing it on real life thats the most plausable) idrk lol. Mc has some love problems, side character and others help? Plot twist she gets with side character or friends? Plot plot twist side character or friends get with love interest?? Idk i'm getting these ideas from my butt lol.

Third, again, I think the story would most accurately be a rom-com js bcs I want love very badly and books are as good as it gets rn! Tropes may be like friends to lover, enimies to lover, idk

Antgonsts would obvs be the devil (hes the enemy since day one bro) and the mc may be an enemy to herself at some points? Or maybe random characters with sad backstories could be mean to her and stuff? Very basic things for a basic story

The fandom would 100% be mostly postive and cutesy. I just get that vibe from the book and the ppl who would read it!

FInally, I think it (whether or not there is a series) all depends based on the plot twists as stated above. If the side character gets the guy then yea there HAS to be a series. But if it just ends normally then maybe another series based on povs from the other characters/ friends of the mc. So yes, there would probs be a series but depending on how the first book goes changes the plot of the rest of the series.

Also, it highlights my previous point that when Gojo's confronted by women flirting with him, he doesn't really do... Anything. He's just chill about it. And the little °^° face he makes and the little confused "hm?" from the manga panel in the beginning could indicate that Gojo might not be hit on by girls as often as we think- Jujutsu sorcerers are busy and have even their time off interrupted on the regular. Other than being mildly amused, we don't see Gojo actively bask or pursue attention from women (other than Utahime ofc, which could be because she's as straight-laced as Nanami).

The little content smile he gives at the end basically says it all: Gojo enjoys the attention, but most likely isn't interested in pursuing anything more than that, including sexual relations (with more reasons from my previous posts).

I could see Gojo being the type to allow himself to appreciate just a bit of affection from random women he encounters on missions and then casually walking off with a lazy wave of his hand- just like he did with Miwa.

The man's on a mission (literally) with the goal to change the world. Virgin Gojo is very possible seeing how unaffected he is by women throwing themselves at him- or at least, he allows himself a moment to enjoy the attention but is quick to dismiss the thought from his mind to focus on his duty.

Honestly, non virgin Gojo is still possible, but unless we see Gojo actually show interest or actively flirt with someone (which seems unlikely), we may never know. To me, analyzing Gojo with his interactions with other characters (not his antics) makes me think it's more likely Gojo is a virgin than not, simply bc the argument for Gojo being a non virgin is his looks and immaturity (or his act of immaturity, we know Gojo thinks in a much more complex way than he lets on) which I'd argue is not an accurate description of his character, because that's only a part of it, and is in fact only what Gojo shows on the surface. And there's plenty of reasons why his lifestyle would make such getaways difficult. Also, Gojo's lack of enthusiasm for it. Gojo allows girls to fawn over him, but he hardly stokes the fire more than just taking off his glasses when they asked him to.

If Gojo was more like Osamu Dazai from Bungou Stray Dogs who flirts with every women he sees, I would have an easier time believing he would not be a virgin, but his lifestyle, behavior, and even his Six Eyes and his goal makes me think he wouldn't choose to constantly go on small getaways like that. Personally, I'd say Gojo spends more of his time plotting and maximizing his efforts on recreating Jujutsu Society.

Really, when Gege said he couldn't see Gojo being faithful to a woman could be because he's already committed to his job. Not because he's out womanizing, but even because the type of woman he'd commit to is so rare. And even if he did find a woman he'd commit to, being the ENTP he is means he's incapable of immediately recognizing and acting on his emotions- not because he doesn't have them, but because they're not really his forté. He'd rather rationalize his behavior than attempt to understand his own feelings. It'll take time and patience, but Gojo committing is still a possibility.

Honestly, I'd like to hear why people would think Gojo's a cheater/womanizer to begin with? Besides him teasing Utahime, Gojo's been pretty respectful to Shoko and Mei Mei. He even complimented and recognized Mei Mei's strength as a sorcerer. He didn't flirt once with the hoard of girls fawning over him. In fact, he was quick to focus on his mission despite the attention. I don't think Gojo's ever even teased Shoko about anything (other than commenting on her terrible way of explaining things, which is more of a fact than teasing). Though, correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, I haven't mentioned Riko much in previous posts and idrk why lol. But while Gojo is dominated by logical thinking, he's emotionally inept enough to notice Riko's mood. He may seem cold in how he comforted her by saying he'd leave her behind, but it's more of his ENTP personality that has him expressing his emotions in a more objective manner- even if it hurts, it's the truth, and that's fine isn't it? (Typical ENTP way of thinking).

Also slight tangent I read that one long meta about Gojo's interaction with Riko someone linked, and I'm completely appalled that they would think Gojo is only "pretending" to have emotions, "mimicking" them even! That he's incapable of truly feeling when in fact it's inherently characteristic of any ENTP to express themselves in a way that, to others, would be considered "cold" and unempathetic. It just goes to show just how misunderstood ENTPs are. They only make up 3% of the world so are often confused for socios/narcs/psychos which is understandable-

But I wanna make one thing clear: all sociopaths could be considered ENTPs. But not all ENTPs are sociopaths. (Switch Socio with psycho/narc/etc and it still works). Why?

Purpose.

Arrogance, boastfulness, unrefined emotional sensitivity, recklessness, impulsiveness- all of those fall below the importance of Purpose. Regardless of how Gojo "acts," it's been expressed time and time again- Gojo acts for the sake of the next generation. Sociopaths/Antisocial Personality Disorder/Psychopaths have one most common defining starting point: "it all starts with cruelty to animals and lack of response to their own actions, or actions of other people."

Let's make it more simple: regardless of whatever end of the spectrum sociopathy can be- high functioning, low functioning- antisocial personality disorder, in it's most simple terms, along with psychopathy and narcissism, condensed into one common trait is very clear: Their actions, while easily blendible into society, are for the sole purpose of pleasuring themselves.

Why don't people notice those with these disorders? Because their *behavior* is so similar to not just the typical ENTP, but also the ISTP AND ESTP. They can easily be mistaken for common members of society, but again: their sole purpose is the pursuit of pleasure themselves, while acting with complete disregard for the consequences of not just their own actions but others'. Staying in one job for extended periods of time is especially rare for a sociopath in particular, and this is one very clear difference between Gojo and a sociopath.

Gojo is willing to spend the rest of his life as a Jujutsu Sorcerer for the sake of others. This sentence alone defies any inclination that he could be a sociopath regardless of any other symptoms commonly associated with sociopathy, such as emotional insensitivity, hostility, risk taking behavior, lack of restraint, and impulsivity- there's a reason such people blend in with society, and that's because such symptoms are common with *any* person, regardless of personality type. Other than with the higher ups, Gojo hardly shows the anger, irritability, or general discontent that a sociopath is most commonly is associated with as their established mood - and even if he did, would being easily irritatable while in the position of the Strongest, the one who carries the burden of establishing a new future of Jujutsu Society on his shoulders alone be so unrealistic? That is why Purpose is so important.

If Gojo truly was a Sociopath, he would have dipped long before Jujutsu Kaisen had even started.

And I apologize for yet another tangent! Someone said Gojo sees his students as weapons or tools to be used in furthering his agenda. While that is not necessarily untrue, the implication is hardly close to reality. Like someone else commented, Gojo goes far and beyond for his students. While he is undoubtedly lacking in his ability to show affection in the most traditional of ways, it's clear that Gojo cares for his students-and others- deeply, whether that be when he went to see Yuta on his business trip to ensure Yuji would be safely taken care of in his absence, when he goes out of his way to personally supervise his students, when he willingly spends a whole day with Nanami just to ask him to mentor Yuji for him (in the Light Novel) regardless of Nanami's disdain, when he turned his Infinity off to allow Yaga to punish him (Gege made it clear in the manga that Gojo had done so to be a good role model for his students and that he recognizes his behavior deserves punishment), and when Gojo commented that he didn't want to think any of his students would be the traitor. Gojo does not express himself as most people do- he's only one of the most misunderstood personality types (on record, along with a few other personalites if you've researched them) and to say people have misinterpreted his character is much more plausible when even in real life, people who behave like Gojo are statistically reported to be misapprehended more often than more populated personality types. When inspected closely, there are so many ways Gojo himself expresses his care for other people, only hidden thinly behind the surface of his lofty attitude and uncaring demeanor. It only takes a few looks at his behavior, not his mouth, to recognize how much he goes out of his way for his students, doing he things that don't necessarily help further his agenda simply because he wants to, not because he has to. Changing the world isn't even something the average person would strive to do, yet Gojo makes it his life goal to accomplish. How could a heartless, emotion mimicking person possibly endure the strife necessary to accomplish such a task? It's appalling.

Gojo is more charitable than most people on the earth, simply because of the perseverance and diligence he takes to withstand the stress and hardships of Jujutsu Society for others. Remember that he chose to become the Strongest, it didn't happen overnight, and in becoming the Strongest, he carries the heaviest burden.

That's without mentioning that even though Gojo is the Strongest, and while to most he seems to proudly state so, it's clear that despite Gojo's antics, he recognizes his weaknesses as a sorcerer and is able to rely on others to make up for them. He had asked Nanami to mentor Yuji because he acknowledged his own flaws as a teacher and that Nanami would have a better capacity than him in that area (in Light Novel). He travelled to see Yuta to ask him to care for Yuji in case something happened to him- and Gojo knows that it's possible that he could be defeated somehow, someway. He's not so deluded to think he's untouchable, even despite his playfulnesses. He is always thinking ahead, calculating his next move while understanding his own shortcomings, acting prudently to ensure a better future.

He is a much deeper and complex character if one only takes the time to look past his antics and analyze his behavior- Something many people in real life seem to miss, and that is the true reason why Gojo struggles to commit.

Sorry for the long tangent and repetitiveness in the beginning lol! Back to the main issue!

Tl;dr there's more evidence of Gojo being a virgin who's more focused on work than pleasure. There's plenty of handsome men who don't seek out sex for reprieve but seek mental stimulation instead for relief. It's totally normal. Gojo could even spend his free time playing video games. He did admit to spending long hours beating 99 years of Momotarou Dentetsu to Geto. He's a gamer, and we know how gamers are commonly known for being virgins lol. Gojo could even be asexual for all we know. He could even be demisexual- someone who doesn't pursue sexual pleasure unless he's made an emotional connection with then. He doesn't necessarily have to even be straight or bi. Therefore, Gojo is very likely to be 28 year old virgin, and there's nothing wrong or strange about that.

some Unfortunate vague vambling into the void wrt tpf

The book is a grail quest, about ppl - either knowingly or unknowingly - on grail quests, and (with/presuming the small amount that can Ever be discerned about SL) written during/around a time when a grail quest was essentially occurring/could-would be a comfort narrative. Its a surprise (to me at least) that its, as Hopeful(?) as it is*. growth occurs! people move on & move past traumas/big Events(tm)! 

I had wanted to compare it to ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ for some reason**, but its honestly not especially similar. If one was to take ILD as a starting point, as people/LD trapped in a cycle by the v nature of Who They Are, TPF kinda jumps from that point, or some a point of hitting a level of Rock Bottom and Acting/. For some of the characters its been a more gradual shift into decisive action, (Tracy, ARY Lewis), while w others its a hitting breaking-point/epiphanous kinda thing (Bob, Sid & Danny) - action is Spurred, etc. 

A reading could be taken then, as Action as Redemptive Force, mayhaps***. in certain cases. maybe. Sid & Danny, would probs be the easiest players to be reading this theme from, “fucking up”**** & then immediately deciding ‘yk what! lets find this fckd up old musician dude u/i really loved, and ask him to restart his 60s-70s band but w us in it this time’. SO! then they go from essentially wasting away, getting high & rehashing old routines & watching/critiquing awful (beastiality) pornos, to going on their drug-smuggling funded ‘grail quest’, to meeting & reteaching the dude guitar, to Genuinely /Finding/ the grail - before (thru an act of giving up on Expectations / releasing Bitterness) - giving it up. the previous wallowing / lacking of Authenticity is Absolved though all tht, as is a long standing weirdness between them regarding giving up on what could've been their Original /Actually Lucrative/ band*****. ARY Lewis thru action comes to terms / peace w himself even tho he Doesn't find his grail, Tracy finds a kinda “peace” thru a ‘mortifying ordeal of being known’ thing, etc etc. The man (SG Lee) loves his Things Bigger Than The Self stuff i guess.

As a theme this can maybe Also be seen in reverse/inversion, w Abby (p fckn minor character), not rly being Unredeemed or anything, mostly bc she starts off as one of the ppl Least in the gutter. but from the like, glances/vignettes of her once she leaves the main story ( “[god] has a hack screenwriter’s sense of drama” ), shes now set a drift in a way tht she kinda wasn't before, and as it goes on loses diff aspects of control/certainties in her own life. i don't think shes mabs treated as sympathetically as she maybe ought to be? could the loss of these things be read into as a weird punishment for /NOT/ going on or supporting ppl going on grail quests******** ? idk ! or idk, the ending w PR running off bc he's finally found that cigerette end, and her then missing the Avril Lavigne’s hit early 00s song ‘sk8r boy’ reminiscent bit w S&D ringing her up to send her audio of the 1st of the New round tabyls’ gigs, might be read as her still being Stuck/. everyone else has (to one degree or another) improved their position since the start of the book, except her, as the only thing she now no longer has is a deadweight boyfriend and his kinda grody bffl, otherwise everything is The Same.  

Not surprised tht he (i think?) doesn't think its necessarily aged well? or. that it is no longer Quite as Relevant bc of the internet & stuff - idrk if thats Properly True******* - both bc that kinda thing can Just About still happen, but also bc if there wasn't a p minor mention of 1997 being in the past, you'd probs assume it was set earlier. ditto some of the concerns wrt oh, You Know, fckn, Exoticism/native american/shaman stuff - which i don't think is bad/ignorant/racist! but its always difficult to tell, and everything (but which i legit mean Everything/ in Gen, in The World) could use more Nuance.  

I had smth else i wanted to say, but I've forgotten what it is tbqh - & ofc, this has mostly been an exercise in Thought ReHashment(tm). It might've been that the ending seems Terribly/ Tidy. like, i don't think there could BE another ending? but its very Neat: the Bad are punished, some leads are paired off in a (presumably) cishet coupling, bad feelings are trowelled up & buried, the bois remake a hot, niche & authentic band, Luther Peyote can play the guitar again: Picture Perfect. Its an ending that fits, its an ending tht (i think? idk Anything abt this kinda thing) puts emphasis on the quest-y stuff, and the poss redemption angle; but it feels like a far remove from the kinda squalor of the first while - which is probs another point in its favour, rip.*********

Sorry I’m so late answering these that you got deleted in between LOL. Now this ask appears on my blog as being from anonymous, but I already had it in my drafts so I remember it’s from you, @invictusmaneo.

Without further ado, answers are below the cut because… They’re a little long. :)

1. What do you like most/least about writing?

Oh gosh, I simply really like writing. Every step of the creative process exhilarates. Every word written is a breath of life out of me, a pump of blood through me. And that is an incredible, incredible gift for me. While every activity has pros and cons, writing is so complementary to my existence that I can appreciate even the downsides.

I have no idea how to put it in words beyond that, my friend. (Ironic?)

I guess what I like least is that I can’t (or at least shouldn’t) do it all the time. What is “it”? Daydreaming any second, with any energy, I can spare? Investing thought into every syllable I put forth? Looking into random topics constantly? Organising tirelessly? Revising anything I pen for hours and hours?

Yes.

Seriously, though. The inclinations and habits of a writer follow me wherever I may go, but sometimes I’m not supposed to brainstorm or care so much about the rhythms of sentences or review every word before me. And the part I dislike is not so much that these habits follow me—I’m proud of them—but that day-to-day life doesn’t always have a place for them. Which sucks.

4. Do you work with a beta? Why/why not?

With my novels, yes. Sometimes with my shorter multichaps. Rarely with my one-shots and ficlets. Never with my drabbles and challenge submissions.

When a story has more than one chapter, I can start to feel overwhelmed about the little things, since they’re not all in one place, you know? IDRK how to explain it, but yeah. Once it gets to that, it’s quite comforting to think, “I don’t have to stress about keeping track of everything, even when I’m revising, because I’ll have other eyes to help me out.”

However, when a story is not so unwieldy to handle by myself, getting a beta can prove to be the hard part. With so many fandoms, so few conventional interests, and so hectic a schedule, I’d need a different beta for every project and that’s just…a lot to juggle.

Either way, I recognise the hard and noble work to which betas dedicate themselves, and I am proud to share a creative space with them.

8. What kind of narrator do you prefer to write?

Unreliable narrators are intriguing, but they don’t tend to mesh well with the type of stories I write. Stream-of-consciousness narration doesn’t mesh well with…well, me. However, I do like limited narration. Omniscient can be fun with certain writing activities/challenges, but it just doesn’t go with the typical writing project of mine.

12. Do you tend to write long or short chapters?

Hooo, boy, long chapters fo’ sure.

My average chapter length is, like, six or seven thousand words. The short end of my chapter word count range would hover around 3k, but even that is rare in my bibliography. Most of my novels contain a 4k-long chapter, so I suppose that would be a more accurate “short end of my range”. As for the long end, well… I’ve written 10k+ chapters before. Whoops.

16. How do you feel about inquits (they said, he yells, etc.)?

Well, first off, I have never heard them called “inquits” before. I usually call them “dialogue tags”. Interesting LOL.

Anyway. I won’t use them if I don’t have to, and it can be fun to play with what constitutes “not having to”. I haven’t built up to Hemingway’s courage in yeeting dialogue tags inquits, but I look up to it.

When I do use them, I try to stick to “said”, “replied”, “asked”, and “answered”. Of course, I’m a fan of precise verbs above (pretty much) all else, so I’m also not afraid to stray from those inquits.

20. How do you feel about punctuation?

I love it (with wavering intensity) and I pay as much attention to it as I can. I enjoy details, I enjoy rules, and punctuation is just details with rules. Isn’t that beautiful?

24. Do you think a lot about story structure/arcs?

YES. So much. They’re the skeletons of stories and man do I like bones.

Honestly though, I can’t get down to business until I’m comfortable with the story’s structure and the characters’ arcs. And by “comfortable”, I mean, like. Intimate. Known inside and out. And even the eventual act of getting down to business means, for me, delving further into that structure, those arcs. For me, it’s more than just expanding them: it’s branching out, growing them.

Am I being overdramatic? Perhaps.

28. How do you approach writing new characters?

I pretty much just throw myself into it LOL. As a starting point, I give every character one verbal and one physical idiosyncrasy. I can’t think of any examples for my fanfics off the top of my head, so I’ll use Rosewood.

Ed says “yeah?” frequently. He’ll be like, “You’re my chief royal advisor, so I can trust you to tell me the truth about Gale, yeah?” to Duane or, “Keep everyone out of the east wing tonight, yeah?” to Etta. And his chin betrays his feelings a lot—the crease, stiffness, direction; whether and how he’s touching it. This may seem small and insignificant, but any kind of signpost can at least keep my characters distinct, and that can help me make them unique and real.

If I’m having trouble with a new character, I’ll either employ some Theatre Skillz to get into their head, or I’ll check out some OC question blogs. Tunglr is a real writer’s haven, yeah?

32. Do you write more canon compliant/divergent or full-blown AU?

I have a tendency to write canon compliant fics, although canon divergent fix-its are my bread and butter. However, Philinda has been really widening my berth. I’ve been writing so many AUs for them, it’s wild. But wildly fun! The only other full-blown AU project I’ve undertaken was a Hamilton novel, and I didn’t even finish it because I got tired of my own ideas LOL.

36. Do you use author notes?

I always have something at the very end of a fic, and usually I have a quick note about betas or inspiration (i.e. whether I used any for that part, who they were if I did, etc.) before each chapter.

40. What writing detail are you most proud of in CttC?

I did so much research. I even used some of my lovely newfound knowledge for my history IA, which my teacher really liked because it was a topic he had never encountered before. And despite having all that work, I still had a lot of fun doing the research and integrating it into the story.

bad habits

two of my fave artists Ed Sheeran and Ben Platt have songs named bad habits haha anywayy i have to journal this because one of my spiritual mentors told me to process my feelings through writing now that i can’t express much or get things off my chest.

it’s been over 10 days since my brother left the house. a great part of me felt so relieved when he left ( actually until now ). but also now i feel kinda bad for myself because i can’t get things off my chest. i feel like there are things i need to cry out. maybe i kinda miss him. but then again, he needs to learn how to be independent all on his own. he’s been mooching off this house for far too long. without contributions, without anything pleasant. all he showed was his knack for cooking, music, and games. that’s all. other than that, it’s all bad vibes, walking on egg shells, and faking for everyone else. or idk maybe i feel bad for himself too, bc i don’t really wanna be in his position right now.

don’t do drugs, kids. it damages your brain, by a lot. you’re pushed to do bad things to yourself and the people around you. anyway, i am soooooooooooo tired of being the receiving end of things. 

let me try to remember the events. it might help me in some way. my memoriez kinda hazy so these might not be super accurate anymore

November of 2015 -  the first time he left the house iirc for two weeks? then just went back a week before Christmas i think December 25, 2015 - bursted out in front of all of us on Christmas day. tried to kill himself.or at least threatened to kill himself with a knife. because my dad wont let him borrow the car. Yssa saw all of it. just dragged her and my brother in the room until the shouting ended. traumatic af for her

sometime 2016(?) or 2017 - we fought for something idk iirc bc of the vaio???? i shouted so much shit at him & was super angry. for some reason he kept apologizing while crying. i didn’t have any of it lmao

sometime 2017 - him and mom fought, then he pushed her, she almost had a an attack or smthn, her BP went super high, i was in Los Banos i couldnt do anything. i was just super a n g r y again

May 2019 - bursted again and fought with dad. it was a shoutfest. he was drunk. i remember being grounded for like 3 months

September 2020 - started not eating together with us during mealtimes. idk? Dun wanna be questioned for his life choices? didn’t really wanna ask.

August 20, 2021 - fought with mom and Yssa. mom just told him str8 up to leave. 

these series of events doesn’t even include the other sudden outbursts to my parents and lil sis. tinatanong naman siya kung ano yung problema. binibigyan naman siya ng advice. ganon ba talaga kalaki yung need niya for attention?

anyway, now that he’s out and about, i just wish he finally goes to rehab, and maybe get treated for his alcohol addiction (?) if it’s already in that level idrk anymore. i also hope that he finally realizes to step up, be independent, and really provide for himself, forgive himself, and love himself wholly. 

and finally, i pray that he remains safe and protected from the virus. and that the Lord gives him a Saul moment, and go back to Him.

You stare at the phone in your hands, sighing. You knew what you had signed up for when you agreed to date Seokjin, but you didn’t expect so much hate being directed towards you. You weren’t an idol, and you weren’t in the performance industry. Nobody knew you before that photo of you and Jin surfaced. But now, they do know about you. And everyone seemed bent on wrecking you apart.

You’d be lying if you said it wasn’t working, and that nothing they said hurt. Because you took every word to heart, even if you knew they weren’t true. You were already eating much less and going to daily gym sessions and working hard to fix your body. You thought it was working, but seeing these comments, you realize your hard work was pointless. You can’t please them. They hate everything you do.

It didn’t bother you so much at first; there were ARMYs that supported your relationship with Jin, and you had thought those who weren’t supportive would get over it eventually. But even after a couple months of dating Jin, it just seemed to be getting worse.

“Fuck…” You throw your phone behind you onto your bed half-heartedly. It didn’t do you any good to look at what those people said. You knew that, but you couldn’t help but check your social media every day, hoping those comments would go away.

But of course they didn’t.

You get up and walk into the bathroom, preparing to take a shower. You start taking off your clothes before your reflection in the mirror catches your eye. You straighten up and examine yourself.  

You weren’t fat, but you weren’t skinny either. Your stomach was a bit round, instead of flat like the models you saw on TV, but that was normal, right? You turn around, inspecting every aspect of yourself, and your heart sinks when you realize the comments about the way you look had more truth in them than you had thought.

Now that you really looked, your eyes were uneven; your nose was too big. Your shoulders were much too broad for a woman. You don’t have big breasts, or a flat stomach. Your thighs were quite large, and your knees too knobby. How had you not noticed this before? It was all in front of you. It was all there. Your flaws, your imperfections - they weren’t hidden. You could see them all so clearly.

You watch as a tear rolls down your cheek. You didn’t deserve Jin. You were too unattractive for him. Maybe, just maybe, leaving him wasn’t a bad idea. Maybe it was for the best.

You look at yourself in the mirror again before shamefully dropping your eyes. You couldn’t believe it had taken you this long to realize you and Jin weren’t a good match. He was a prince, perfect in every way. And you... you were just you. There wasn’t anything special or extraordinary about you - you weren’t what he needed, and he deserved someone better.

You crumple to the floor slowly. There was just one problem: you truly loved Jin. He was so kind and patient, so caring and loving towards you; how could you not love him? But your feelings didn’t matter, you reason; only his did. And how could he love someone like you? Someone who wasn’t tall or pretty or skinny? Maybe those comments, maybe those people, were right. You and Jin just weren’t meant to be.

You stand up; you had made up your mind. You decided to make it quick and easy for the both of you. It was better to leave without a word than to have to tell him about everything. Because then, he wouldn’t let you leave. He would be too blinded by his worry and kindness to realize that you weren’t the right girl for him and you wouldn’t be able to leave him. This... this was for the best.

You pick your clothes off the floor, not bothering to put them on because you needed something else that would cover you up more when you were outside. You take one last glance at the mirror and take in a deep breath.

It was for the best.

You gather your things up and walk out the bathroom door. And then you stop, suddenly, when you see him, just standing there. He turns to look at you with a sad look in his eyes. Your phone is in his hands.

You inhale sharply.

“Jin.”
