Shiro would totally be That Trainer who had at least one of his Pokemon know Roar (to not waste money on repels that don’t even last that long and irritate his own pokemon, anyway), have his pokemon spar against eachother and immediately patch them back up. And if he HAD to fight wild pokemon and couldn’t Roar them away, he’d absolutely risk deplenishing his berries and medical supplies getting the wild pokemon patched back up (or in an extreme case? either rushed to the nearest PCP or out of harm’s way hopefully inside their territory.)

‘Cause Shiro’s been carved up and burned and shocked and frozen and had his mind and hormones messed with for someone else’s funsies. Even if those memories are repressed from him outside of triggers, flashbacks, and nightmares, his body still bears those marks. He WON’T put someone else through that—human OR pokemon—when he’s the one treaspassing. Ever.
