Reaper's Bride drabble: Nekomata hunts a pen (AKA Arsene being a masochist)

“Nekotama, c’mere kitty-kitty!” Kidd called, patting Arsene’s chest with his cannon hand. “Oww- William, you know it hurts!” Arsene scolded. “Oh- sorry, Lupin.” Nekotama simply scoffed before walking over to Makoto, then placed her folded arms atop his lap, looking up at him. “What?” Makoto asked, tilting his head. “Hi,” Nekotama greeted, “Nekotama, and you are?” “Makoto Yuki.” “Hand.” “What?” “Gimme your hand. I just need to know your scent.” “Uhh, okayyyy?” Makoto placed his hand in front of Nekotama’s face, to which she sniffed and then rubbed it with her face. She then gave off a light smile and laid her head atop her folded arms. “Minty, like catnip,” she noted, appeased. “That’s the second person to say that I smell like mint.” “Who was the first?” “Ryoji.” “He’s Death, I’m cat. Big difference.” “Yeah, but if I had a nickel for every time I was told I smelled like mint, I’d have two, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.” “Yeah, but your mintiness is good.” Nekotama ended up falling asleep with her head on Makoto’s lap. The other personas snickered at the situation. “Would this count?” Makoto asked, “Does the Law of Cats apply to her?” “Yes. You’re stuck with us,” Jiraiya laughed.  “Goddammit.”

Makoto simply sighed as he just watched the other personas play cards. He eventually just gave some ear scritches to Nekotama, earning loud purring from her. Arsene let out a chuckle at the audible purring.

“Well, he didn’t make Loki purr, but he still made her purr,” he joked.

“Arsene Lupin, I will stab you with your own heels,” Loki growled.

“Please do, I love seeing you in my clothes.”

“I swear to god, you are the most demanding masochist I have ever known,” Robin Hood chuckled.

“Well, I cannot die, so why not take advantage of my immortality?”

“I swear to Nyx, if you guys don’t behave yourselves, I will claw out your eyes,” Nekotama hissed.

“Aye, g’luck with that, Lupin’s nothin’ but fire with his eyes,” Kidd laughed.

“Nekotama, you’re like a kitten going up against a whole-ass bear and thinking you’d win,” Makoto chuckled.

“Oh, I’ve clawed them hard enough to bleed, don’t push it, minty emo boy.”

“I stand by my point. Cats like to think they can face up to god and win.”

“That’s implying we aren’t gods ourselves,” Nekotama said smugly.

“You are not helping the ‘Nah I’d win’ allegations.”

Nekotama bites Makoto’s hand. Instead of being offended at the action, Makoto immediately places his other hand on the couch and moves it back and forth, catching Nekotama’s attention.

“Here, you’ll wanna save your hand from being scratched up,” Jiraiya handed Makoto a pen.

Makoto patted the pen on the couch, diverting her attention to the pen. He then moved it back and forth, chuckling at Nekotama’s observation of the pen, her head moving side to side to follow the pen. Her pupils dilated, focused on hunting the pen.

“Ready?” Makoto then threw the pen, “Get it!”

Nekotama immediately chased after the pen, then proceeded to play with said pen like it was a mouse. The personas and Makoto laughed as they watched Nekotama having her fun with a pen.

[this is kind of a messy ramble, sorry about that]

Demon Twins AU, except Danny is loyal to the League.

The League of Assassins is a “cult” for a reason. They know what they’re doing. Ra’s has been around for a very long time; he’s seen every trick in the book and then some.

So when his daughter Talia gave him two, near-identical twin grandsons, he had already planned out their lives by the time the sun had set on their first day living. He knew the plans weren’t perfect. Nothing ever went exactly how he wanted it to. But that was the joy of being absolutely fucking ancient. Ra’s adapted better than anyone. If something went wrong, Ra’s will simply work around the issue and live to see another day.

So the boys were raised as he wished. Ruthless, with sharp blades and even sharper wit. They matched each other in every way, blow for blow. Neither won more than the other, and Ra’s encouraged the competition between the twins. Eventually, the battle for title of Heir came, and Damian won that particular match.

Danny was fine with this. Thrilled, even, for his brother to earn the title of Heir. The boys were very close, and worked well to take down targets twice their size. Ra’s approved this, and granted Danny title of Shadow. He was to be Damian’s eternal shadow, a guard. Both Talia and the boys were pleased with this.

But then came the time for the boys to learn how to live without each other. They’d gotten too used to someone guarding their back. Too complacent and too confident in their roles. Ra’s knew it would happen, and so sent Danny off at a very young age to live with some sleeper agents in America.

The Fentons.

Damian would stay here, with Talia, to learn how to be the perfect Heir. He needed to learn how to fight without the assistance of his brother.

Danny would go to Amity Park, and be fostered by the Fentons. He needed to put his skills to practical use and learn how to live without constant orders.

This was their Test.

Damian did quite well, for a while. Until Talia sent him off to his birth father, The Bat. Reports on his behavior declined in quality after that, and Ra’s couldn’t help but feel dissatisfaction with how the Heir had been corrupted.

Danny’s reports were always immaculate, however. His mask never slipped, and he’d worked himself into the hearts of the townspeople. The sleeper agents, Jack and Maddie, had a daughter who was quite enthusiastic about the properties of the mind, and accept Ra’s instructions to teach Danny with ease. It was the ideal situation.

In Ra’s eyes, Danny was thriving. Damian was not.

And then Ra’s died. The League was in shambles. Damian was at peace with his family, away from the cult he grew up in. He assumed Danny had defected years ago, since their mother stopped giving him reports about his twin.

Then Danny showed up at the Wayne’s doorstep, decked out in full League attire, angry and hostile.

“Tell me, dear brother,” he spat. “Why did you not inform me that Grandfather had died? I had to find out through his spirit when it came to visit from the afterlife!”

Damian didn’t know what to say.

in my mind kakania would have little to no problem accepting the fact that she is into women. however the thought of her being into isolde is something that would absolutely vex her, i think. while they did start off as casual acquaintances and friends, isolde is still her patient, and to some level kakania winds up being responsible for isolde's wellbeing. with that in mind, kakania can hardly fathom the thought of burdening isolde with her feelings, which she feels absolutely selfish for even indulging in. even if those feelings were to be returned, it still wouldn't put kakania's mind at rest. it still wouldn't be enough to get kakania to convince herself that she's fine with feeling this way. ultimately it's not necessarily internalized homophobia nor societal pressure that troubles her, but rather her own ethical and psychological concerns

it'd be even worse for her if those feelings didn't exactly ... go away even after everything that happened in chapter 6. she'd be overwhelmed with guilt, and think to herself that the best course of action would be to distance herself from isolde, but the most painful part is that even after seeing isolde at her worst, she still can't help but want to love isolde. even after kakania herself had presumably tainted isolde's perception of her. so what if that's what was necessary at the moment. after leaving isolde broken and shattered, how could kakania even dare to think she deserves to love isolde? if it once felt horribly wrong for kakania to be in love with her, everything that has transpired between them only served to make it worse!

(anyway hope you like it - I have been looking at this for too long and so of course I hate it now 🫠 art is hard guys lol)

some details below the cut because I am happy with some small aspects - still really enjoying the painting part of doing Wade's scars for example (thanks again @woof-verine for that inspo it is just baked into my psyche now, and also for being a forever enjoyer of pointy ears Logan - sorry couldn't quite get the fangs in this time but they are there trust me!!)

Sophie, beginning in Neverseen and slowly in increasing amounts begins to pick up Keefe’s way of speaking/his form of snarkiness/his style of humor because she spends a TON of time around him and our speech patterns are influenced by those around us. Also, she got older and more confident, so a lot of her shyness melted away. But she is the girl she’s always been—just a lot more confident and making a lot more of the same style of jokes as one of her closest relationships. That is way more realistic than y’all give it credit for
