we've been looking 2 get another dog for awhile now (since we'll b4 one of our dogs unexpectedly passed last month) but on god it is SO HARD rn holy shit they just??? go so fast??? like damn ik every1 wants a dog bc they're home all the time now but we're a whole year in2 the pandemic now you'd think it would've slowed down but no!

#it was initially a tough choice abt whether we were gonna keep looking/applying when paco died #but now my mum (whos the one who started this whole thing) is even more adamant bc she feels that our other dog is lonely now #idk if ziggy would be happy with us bringing another dog in? like idk im just not as sure as my mum is that she'd respond positively #but shes 11ish and has never been an only dog so idk maybe she would like another dog friend #gotta fucking FIND one tho oh my godddd my mum is in So Many fb rescue groups now lol #even the 'less desirable' dogs get adopted super quick and its not like were looking for a puppy or anything #also it. seems off 2 me. that every time i have this convo with anyone they always start going on about #how ppl are gonna return/abandon/give up those dogs as soon as they have 2 go back 2 work or w/e but like....#idk maybe im naive or optimistic abt The Nature Of People but i just dont think the majority of ppl #are gonna go thru the whole involved adoption process + fees just 2 get a dog they get rid of like a yr later #like yeah sure ppl do that but i hardly think its gonna be EVERYONE and certainly not just coz they arent #working from home anymore??? like yh its more convenient 2 be home w/ ur pet esp w/ puppies or if training is needed #but plenty of ppl have dogs and go to work everyday. its a thing ppl do. why would that change suddenly?#idk why it annoys me that every1 just makes that general assumption it just seems unnecessarily cynical ig
