discovered yesterday that the majority of my work just mainly consists of queers and people who’re well-informed on queer identities which isnt something i expected in a cleaning gig (even if it is in an arts-space) and just made me real pleased

(also the irony is that we clean for a lot of rich-people events and they often take pictures of the gender-neutral toilet sign and seem genuinely uncomfortable about going in that restroom, like they’re gonna lose their gendercard)

#like I'm not going to lie i made assumptions #about my coworkers #purely because a fair few of them come from a variety of different countries and idk what the trans-politics are like in all of them #but from my experiences so far #a loooooot of middle/upperclass people seem to not educate themselves #whilst people from lowerclass backgrounds often just go... eh thats the world my cousin's youngest is...#idk what it is (and this is generalising im purely speaking from people ive met so far in my life)#maybe it's cos there're better depictions of trans life in soap operas than in *high brow* art #(highbrow with the biggest airquotes)
