Day 7
No story quests today, played only about 7 hours instead of over 12!
Went and did the valley of dangerous machines, why did they make me fight a thunderjaw and a tremortusk at the same time??? Like even when they were both 2/3 health… lies on the ground. And this quest was sorta weird because it made you fight the spectres they’re like… not hard? Was that just me? When we fought them before they felt super dangerous with their guns and stuff but idk, it feels kind of lame to have them demoted to be fought in random side quests. They should be giant bosses! Though I supposed this quest already made you fight the tremortusk/thunderjaw combo… maybe that’s why the fight seemed tame in comparison after I got my ass handed to me by those two
Dedicated a bit to levelling up my bow to highest level, tbh I’m surprised they would mark out the greenshine on your map but I’m not complaining! Honestly there should be some easier way to get this stuff because jumping up the side of a cliff for ten minutes to try and get the exact vector needed to have Aloy get some grip is just notttttt it.
Did Zo’s personal quest, and it was a bit short :// but I still liked it! Getting the backstory on the land-gods was interesting and a really nice bit of worldbuilding, though I wish we could get info on all seven, and them ‘singing’ at the end was super cute. I wish there was more worldbuilding for the Utaru in general tbh, this quest seems like it’s done some heavy lifting in that department but it’s also kinda highlighted how the rest of the Utaru quests don’t really tell you anything about that tribe
Trying to get all the scavenger contracts so that I get this ‘awesome armour’ they’re talking about… I swear to god if it’s just average I’m gonna be mad. Also one is a diving quest to retrieve parts though so ugh maybe put it off a little longer. I seriously don’t like the diving mechanic!! It would be so nice and neat if you didn’t have to worry about running into machines – at least on foot, you can run away or fight them, but in the water you really have the smoke bombs and that’s it. Ew.
Cleared the blight from thornmarsh which was great! Loved the fight sooooo much, I cleared all the human enemies in stealth and then used the deathbringer gun and a ravager gun to kill the fireclaw without taking 1 point of damage in that whole encounter LMFAO. Me finishing the quest like oh is that it… But also made me a little sad because so many of the encounters in this game are straight up duels with little chance for stealth methods of fighting, so to be able to do this whole camp in stealth mode makes me see in contrast how so much of the rest of the game just isn’t like that :(
Kinda don’t want to do the gemini quest, though even though I know it’s not going to be the end of the game, since there’s still the sus corner of the map with the Zeniths that we’re obviously going to go to. But like the end of the game is approaching, I’m level 46 and I don’t want it to be over 🥺 🥺 🥺
Want to do all the personal quests of my companions before the gemini quest I think so yeah, that’s the plan for tomorrow’s gaming
