#honestly genuinely some of it is down to how much more Professional all the popular big songs are#the lack of 360p nnd reuploads with strangely-coloured hardcoded subs is killing this country#and i do think ill always b biased towards it bcos its what i grew up with#i remember watching kagome kagome eight full years ago we have a special bond#idk theres something there abt commercialisation and such. no offense sekaituals but it is kind of a personification of that stuff#maybe its just my lack of interest in it but i feel like modern vocaloid has a few Big Producers but less variety#(looking at the big stuff ofc shoutout to modern vocaloid indies)#crypton six ft. flower were always the big guys but i feel like esp wrt vocaloid brand its very much Them in the popular sphere#like nowadays whenever i want something that feels less aggressively Produced i immediately turn to synthv#or the ever-reliable utauloids#not bcos theyre inherantly less polished or whatever but bcos they feel newer and like more ppl are playing around w them#idk. this is likely just me sitting in my little bubble going Bring Back Gumi and refusing to take in the new stuff
