these being in consecutive chapters does not feel coincidental. im not necessarily arguing arya is the girl in dany's vision. i think that could be a fun twist! as arya is associated with barefeet in clash in particular (barefoot surefoot lightfoot) and if the house with the red door is in braavos she will likely see it in twow. that being said its probably just representative of dany's inner child searching for home.

but it seems like grrm is drawing a connection between the two. he puts arya on a course for braavos which, as far as we know, is the same location as dany's house with the red door. the placement of these moments suggests, to me, that braavos is its true location despite a lot of theories to the contrary.

i was never really a bandom person, i think i mightve just been too young since i was only middle school age by the time death of a bachelor came out and MCR had already broken up by the time i was listening to them i just missed the boat by a couple years but i was always peripherally aware of the shipping and drama etc and since i was so removed from it i only ever saw like. the lowest common denominator of fetishistic conspiracy theorists and art at the time so i kind of just Assumed none of that was really happening....but ofc now while i wouldnt say im well versed in any of it, ive seen the evidence presented by people who Were in the trenches specifically for ryan ross and brendon urie and a little bit for a couple other big bandom bands that i find adequately convincing that there was in fact obviously relations happening behind the scenes. and idk i dont really have a point here im just so fascinated by these queer relationships that were There but were so desperately being hidden and yet their audiences could see them anyway. these young queer people that may or may not have even known they were queer themselves when sniffing out those relationships and they just would not let them hide. like most of the people involved to this day have never acknowledged it but Everyone Saw It Anyway. like i said i dont particularly have a point its just so fascinating to me. what must that do to a relationship; to be trying so hard to hide it while also feeling some of the most intense feelings you ever will and even though youre hiding it for privacy career label reasons They Can See It Anyway (and theyre weird about it)

Okay, now that it's over, allow me to explain the rationale for each and every one. Spoilers, of course.

The Sonic Bible was a fan favorite, as half the listed here are. I said "Which one did I miss" and you all said "Oh, remember when BDG said he never played a Sonic game?" and its treated as this big masterclass of trickery when really it's not. Tons of people are aware of giant media icons and don't interact with their source material. Pokemon is like, the biggest media franchise and there are Poketubers out there who have never played a Pokemon game. It's Plato's cave out here, and not playing a Sonic game isn't so much a reveal as it is the natural cadence of the video. A lot of BDG videos are like that. Or maybe I'm just fucking stupid, idk.

Shapeland was insane from conception to reveal. The long explanation about how such a model was difficult to implement, much less repeat. The giant timecard about how this was exactly what he did. Then the reveal that ShapeLand IS real, that it's a real park with real attendance numbers on a real date in actual history, that they could run this with ANY date - that was insane. That was iconic. No one does it like Kevin Perjuror.

The Dark Brony Double Life was insane because of the LACK of theatrics. To this day, my Discord status says "AND SO THE PONY CONSUMES ITS OWN TAIL." because of the spiralling nature of the concept of horse famous. Jenny foreshadows the reveal ONCE, and then casually just goes "by the way, I made Friendship is Witchcraft" and it utterly recontextualizes not just that video, but the other Pony videos she's done. She's not just a dedicated fan vis a vis her Star Wars and Harry Potter videos, no, she was HORSE FAMOUS, to the point that she had IMPERSONATORS. You all had a pick and you were right, good on ya.

Alex Lasarenko won last time, too. Tbh, its pretty good. The whole video was leading up to the reveal of Alex writing the Disney Channel theme, but slowly, the video becomes more than a deep dive. It becomes an obituary, a tribute, a biography of a late man who soundtracked a lot of kids' childhoods, with a single four-note melody. And Kevin decides to not let that define Alex's life, like he feels Defunctland might one day define him. And so, throughout this mystery-biopic, he plays Alex Lasarenko's music, and only ever tells you this once the time is right. And it flips the definition of Alex Lasarenko on its head, and THAT'S a reveal that has me on the brink of tears every time.

QAnon is a reveal, yes, and I'm glad you all recommended this one because I HADN'T seen it before. It's a sobering reveal, however. You're having a time, learning about the decline of flat earthers and you're learning how antisemitism and the like fuels most modern occultism and conspiracies, and then you're hit with how they're all at QAnon now, and you're explained the cult of QAnon, and this becomes historical horror. Because the history is now. And the horror is you can SEE the end result as it is. SEW isn't a sibyl, but goddamn was that a portent. With the way y'all were batting for it, I figured it'd be higher-rated. Ah well.

Waluigi, in my opinion, was an insane reveal because it wasn't just the reveal of the video - it was the reveal of a full SEASON. Of REAL LIFE. For those of you unaware of Polygon history (unlike me, who had an on-off crush on Pat Gill), Brian was some hairless Baltimore twink like some kind of emaciated harbor seal, and one day, he decided to grow a mustache. This was, as I'm sure you'll imagine, unpopular with his fanbase because he was a white twink in a suit. He had to publically go, in a video that season, "You aren't my friends and you have no say in what I do with my body". The Gilbertheads (they dont call themselves that) were INSANE over this mustache. And then he makes a Waluigi video, who was ALSO becoming a popular meme because... I assume Reddit or 4chan was responsible somehow. And you slowly realize, as the video goes on, ESPECIALLY when the words FMV tumble out of his lips, that, oh no, he's attempting to BE Waluigi. And then he opines about the nature of Luigi, after disparaging him the whole video. And behind him, fucking Vesti la Giubba from Pagliachi has been growing in volume. And he says "[...] I'm-a Luigi." so despondently it alters his color scheme, culminating in him shaving off the mustache ON SCREEN. Ridi, Pagliaccio.

People have said that the Victorious series finale infuriated them, and GOOD. Throught the mini-miniseries, Quinton had been casually stating the episode number, implying a finale was going to happen, potentially even gaslighting people into thinking "wait, WAS there a finale?" and since he reviewed the Victorious episodes as they came, you were ultimately left unsure. This is Quinton Reviews, the guy who dug up the very first Garfield newspaper comics and BECAME the foremost expert on Garfield (in what I like to call his Agatha Christie moment), of course he might be thorough enough to dig up some lost media finale. He found theslap.com, for god's sake. And then he introduces the finale. And the screen goes black. It's black for a little too long. And the lights come up. And he reveals his trick. Notably, he had never actually SAID what was in the finale, just alluded it happened, and subtly building up to it. And it never existed. And he WANTS you to feel enraged. Because that was the attitude at the time.

Tommy Talarico, I'll admit, wasn't so much of a reveal as it was a deranged second video. Of course, that's if Tommy Talarico was the reveal in and of itself. A few eagle-eyed pollers may have noticed that I never specified WHAT aspect of Tommy boy was the reveal, and that's because Tommy Talarico is a rabbit hole that would make Frederik Knudson squirt across the room (go follow him on Twitch, he's an owl-themed VTuber now (Fred, not Tom)). He was never on Cribs. He bought his world records. He lies constantly for his own ego. He's a throwaway line on the first half of the video, and then HBG turns off the greenscreen and begins a long exposé on the son of a bitch. And every single line there is another bullet to the chest. It's its own brand of unhinged, and I respect everyone who got it to second place.

The Forgiveness of Jon (u/Rojom, 2020, Pencil on paper) wasn't really a reveal, so much as a notable piece of r/imsorryjon lore. In the same manner as Sonic, this isn't so much a reveal as it is the natural conclusion of the way the video was heading. One might CONSIDER it a reveal, as many will point out it's a direct contrast to the way Jon was depicted in all other works, up to and including the ending of the Sex Survey Results, but its a reveal in the way a final magnum opus from a long-dead painter is a reveal. However, perhaps that's all it has to be. Still a little ill-fitting for the poll, tho.

Heads up I haven’t seen any leaks or researched anything so this probably won’t be accurate pshkssbks (also no spoilers, just trailer references!)

First off, Ep3: The Solitary Clone??? Who??? I’ve seen some people theorizing that this could be Crosshair which would be SO EXCITING LIKE PLEASE!!! I WANT TO SEE HIMMMM. It could also be Rex, Cody, or Wolffe which would be great too (It better not mean Echo is leaving because omg I WOULD SOB NO)

Ep4: Faster To me this seems like it’s probably where we see Tech pod racing, I mean it just makes sense right? I think it’s either that or the Batch has to physically work faster due to the Empire finding out they’re still alive or something.

Ep5: Entombed omg fear. What is that. What does that MEAN. Please tell me it’s just like a semi-filler episode where some of them get trapped in a cave or something normal please let it be something normal and not absolutely devastating mr filoni please 🫠🫠🫠

Ep6: Tribe This one could be really cute!! I feel like this is either referring to the Batch, some actually tribe they meet, or maybe Rex’s group?? Idk, but it seems pretty tame to me :)

Ep7: The Clone Conspiracy and Ep8: Truth and Consequences no. no stop THATS SO MEAN. THATS JUST CRUEL OMG. I feel like this is a direct connection to the Fives arc in TCW and THERE BETTER BE A NAME DROP PLEASE but also IM SO SCARED. On one hand it’s two episodes so yayyy!! But on the other, this really seems like it either has to do with the chips and Fives or some big secret/misunderstanding that might cause some serious tension within the Batch.

Ep9: The Crossing I mean come on. There’s no way this isn’t a play with Crosshairs name, why would this be the title if it’s not. I’m thinking this could be where Crosshair comes back (please), or maybe just Hunter and the Batch finally dealing with the fact that he left in the first place. Or maybe Crosshair is forced to work together with them again for a bit somehow? Or they just cross a big chasm or something and Crosshair is there. Could just be that.

Ep10: Retrieval ITS CROSSHAIR RIGHT. THEY’RE RETRIEVING CROSSHAIR THATS WHO IT IS RIGHT PLEASE I’M BEGGING. I think it’s either that or the Batch goes on some typical retrieval mission and along the way either rescues one of the Batch members from danger or maybe some other person (gungi?)

Ep11: Metamorphosis This could refer to so many things, but I think it might be the whole batch or just one member having a sort of revelation like:

If it’s the whole batch, maybe they’ll change and decide to join the fight against the Empire together

Omega: this could be her learning more about the world and maybe pushing back against Hunter to decide things for herself or disagree with what he wants to do

Cody?: I feel like this could be him breaking free of the control chip, maybe turning on/leaving the empire

It could also be Hunter finally deciding to have the batch join the rebellion, or Crosshair coming back (pleASE), or Echo leaving to join the rebellion alone (NO)

Ep12: The Outpost This one comes out the day before my birthday WOOO!!! My first thought here was Rishi Station, but honestly that connection is pretty unlikely. It could be Rex’s base or maybe the building we saw Cody walking up to in the trailer?

Ep13: Pabu what. is that a guy or…

Ep14: Tipping Point oh this could be so many things. It could be Cody and Crosshair fighting and one of them choosing a side, it could be one of them dying (omg no) making the others more determined to fight the empire, it could be Crosshair coming back (PLS), it could be Echo deciding to leave and join Rex with the rebellion (DONT), it could literally be so many things. In any case, it’s clearly the lead up to/start of the big end conflict, so it’s safe to assume something serious is going down and I’m scared.

Ep15: The Summit and Ep16: Plan 99 Honestly, I have no clue. Big conflict, some crazy Bad Batch plan, my only hope is that it requires Crosshair meaning we get him back by then? Hopefully it’s not like a last resort kind of plan meaning bad things are going to happen but I mean this is star wars, I can only expect pain.

to put things lightly, minho was the ace of your entire guard

like he was better than anyone …at everything

so originally he was on (your father) the king’s immediate guard

he was nothing but professional and saved the king too many times to count even from like stepping on rocks idk 

when you turned like 17 and had to do more public appearances obv u were in a lot more danger so ur father jumped at having minho reassigned to u as the head of your personal guard “nothing but the best for his child”

the first time you met him… he only nodded or said yes or no to everything u asked him n ur jus like ok not much of a talker that’s not so bad ig haha ʕʘ‿ʘʔ

he was so quiet and “polite” for months despite you constantly trying to get something out of him

ur other guards always tried not to laugh bc if only u knew he had like two friends and was generally a pretty serious guy

but one day there was a festival in your kingdom’s central city so obv you had to make an appearance which u were very excited abt bc you only get to go into town like twice a year and THIS was one of those times

being “of age” and that much closer to taking the throne you might as well have painted a big red target on your head to signal people against the throne

everything was going fine, everyone was having fun and you decided to visit some of the booths and musicians around the square

minho was already suspicious of the situation and tightens the rest of your guard without u evenn rlly noticing but like

just as you turned to show these cute little candies to minho to maybe get a reaction for once -

the second he looks at you, someone moves to grab you but the flash of a knife in his other hand causes minho to jump immediately into action

honestly who knows what rlly happened minho moved so damn fast but the next thing you know, ur in the middle of your whole guard squad

looking through the gaps of their shoulders you see minho pinning down your assailant with a blade against his neck waiting for someone to arrest him even though he rlly wanted to just execute the guy right there 

the festivities were kind of killed for u after that bc you and your family were rushed back home which u might’ve been more sad abt if u werent in so much shock :<

obv minho was the one to escort you back but like all he said was “you’re okay?” and after u dumbly nodded with wide eyes he walked with you but kept a hand around your shoulder

no one really talked after that which wasn’t unusual for him but in his mind he was rlly like 

“?? ok i know its literally my job to protect this family but?? hm whyyyy do i seem to care sm more rnnn??//?” help him sdhskjd

u just looked so shaken up and disappointed and suddenly he was like damn </3 they rlly have no fun in their life and this one time they could was ruined :///

u had to stay inside for weeks after that bc it turns out there was a whole conspiracy to “eliminate” your family line so you waited in safety until the criminals were “taken care of” 

minho had everything triple checked around the castle for your safety and secretly made sure you had extra treats and warm drinks sent to your room sometimes with little notes that he had the cook pretend to have sent because lately he’d heard you had trouble sleeping sometimes he’s shy boy aw

he started to realize how much he had gotten used to your smile and your little jokes and the way you sometimes tripped on the corners of rugs. and he thought maybe it was a good thing you guys didnt have many interactions lately because he was way too attached

you on the other hand, couldnt even rlly complain about having to stay inside so much bc you had everything you needed and- you knew it was for ur safety but- it wassss kind of suffocating at times

u tried sneaking out at first ((just to the garden!!)) which obviously was a bad idea bc it’s impossible to get past minhos fcking hawk eyes lmao

he STILL didnt say anything like he would just follow right behind you

n like u kinda huffed but whatever honestly at least it was just him and not 15 other guards like everyone acted like you needed

plus it was somewhat comforting to have someone so solid around even if he never talked smh

one night you sat near the little pond and tried to calm your mind by watching how the moonlight rippled in the water

you can feel him behind you so u just turn around and look at him ignoring how he was already looking at you

 “would you at least sit with me?”

he kind of hesitates bc …what if someone tried to come up behind you? but with the sad look on your face he cant help but give in and sits on the stone bench at the opposite end of you

it becomes actually somewhat peaceful until you just decide to ask everything you’ve been wondering n u just blurt out-

“would it kill you to talk with me once in a while? i mean, talk like a normal person and not a machine? i dont bite i promise..”

he furrows his brow bc he’s shocked you cared at all and also he doesnt rlly know how to respond without being like “its not really in my job description to make conversation” but he honestly just thought you were being talkative out of niceties.

 before he could even form a sentence you continued,

“i mean- i’m always trying to get your attention. i dont get to meet many people for obvious reasons but my guards are the closest people to me-literally, and i dont want there to be a big gap between us just because of my status..”

he cuts you off before you ramble yourself to death 

“i didn’t know you were this troubled by it… i just take my job very seriously and i dont want to risk anyone’s safety for the sake of conversation”

u almost roll ur eyes but not wanting to be rude ur just like “even at home? i know you’re serious about your duties, believe me, i just… i get lonely.”

smthing inside him literally breakkkssss when you say that like u are such a pure and sweet person that deserves to have all the love and friends and fun in the world so he just gets quiet for a second and looks down

“im sorry.” he said it so softly you almost didnt hear him “i’ll be there for you more- if thats what you need. im essentially in charge of your safety and care and i’ll do anything to fulfill that responsibility.”

you had to admit to yourself you had developed a bit of a liking for minho, not just because he was probably the most handsome person in your kingdom, not even just because he saved your life, but he had really been a pillar of security in your life and you respected his loyalty and ambition.

he was more than admirable and everything you wanted as a standard for your kingdom

sometimes you let your mind wander to him getting on one knee and leading alongside you..

no, now youre getting sidetracked and delusional and he can practically hear the gears turning in your head so he stands up and reaches his hand out for you to grab

taking his hand and realizing the conversation was over, you moved to link arms instead  as he walked you all the way to your bedroom door 

u slept a lot better that night 

from that point on you could not get rid of minho 

like everyone was borderline uncomfortable with how jarring his change in attitude was 

like he was constantly behind you looking right over your shoulder or grabbing your arm to stop you from bumping into things

even when he wasnt technically on duty he had taken it upon himself to give you little lessons in archery and even some defensive moves to help you protect yourself in case someone wasnt fast enough to help you 

your tried not to get flustered every time he adjusted your form and the way you could feel his breath behind your ear

or the head pats when he walked you to your room at night

or his hand on your back when you guys would take walks in the garden

honestly it did not take long until one night you were sat next to your pond and after some comfortable small talk you noticed how close his face was to yours

but he noticed you didn’t pull away even as he leaned in closer and finally just kissed you

when he pulled away and saw your eyes still closed and how soft you looked his heart almost exploded

his rushed confession pulls you out of your daze and you’re so happy (a little shocked) but you’re quick to reassure him

obviously this complicates things a lot and you aren’t really sure if you would even be allowed to have a relationship with minho bc of ur position

or if he would get in trouble for breaking the rules of attachment to u

all of this is kind of racing thru both of ur minds as you look at each other but you laugh after u both start talking at the same time

you prod him to go first so he grabs your hands and says like

“look i care about you a lot, and i know we’re not really supposed to be doing this but if i can be by your side … beyond my duties…i would really love to. but if we can’t, i can survive with just being here to protect and serve you in anyway i can”

he’s so honest and genuine and earnest it shocked u a little

even tho you were uncertain abt the situation as well you knew you had grown a little too fond and dependent on minho that you would do anything to make it work

luckily an arranged marriage was not required for you so that wasnt really the issue, but falling in love with someone not at all royal..? it was a daunting thought how the idea would be perceived 

you wouldnt have said anything if you both weren’t completely sure of your feelings;  but you really could not imagine being content or safe spending your life with anyone else so you mustered up the courage to ask the king and queen…

when you brought it up to your parents they looked pretty concerned

minho went on the whole “i’ll do anything to protect them and this kingdom” speech and your father just waved him off and was like

“i know u would …. i’ll allow it because there’s really no one better to represent the kingdom and because i want only the best for my child ;)”

u and minho were literally in shock but just quietly said thank u and left the room

when you had privacy he immediately pulled you in for a kiss (maybe several all over ur face)

you had a lot to figure out and many responsibilities but now you had an amazing person by your side to help you through it :.) <3

but they aren't flowery. that's just not my taste. Some of them might be "problematic"? it's in quotes because i don't agree with it. it's not going to be problematic in plain ignorant sense like racial issues or blatant sexism or mental abuse.... but they might have like stuff which people dont always agree with like drugs. most of them would have nsfw it's just something that i need to have for feels and that's why i asked if u minded it. some things are like more subjective,, characterizations for example, cause like some people dont think keith is a skirt guy cause he isnt in fashion but i think he is petty and rebellious so he will defo do that? some of them would have like physical fights and stuff.. or keith and lance being mean to each other.. some ugly habits which aren't necessarily condemned like anger or drugs.? but with how i see it, it's not glorified, so i see them as human. i love the raw and ugly in these or idk its just human to me (but some people dont like which is completely valid cause we are all different from different environments and think different and resonate with different stuff.)

similar in style and approach to the above. tho i think here is where it gets dubious. i DID actually manage to win today!!! the victory was. literally handed to me, but like. thats fine! i was playing silly's uhhh... elintor the masked? idr her name :( the mask planewalker! deck, which. i had SO much land, most of wh8ch was enchanfed. meaning it could be tapped then untapped w eljntor's thing, then tapped again for DOUBLE MANA. i mean. i had like 9/turn even b4 that but. BUT. i also had. i think i drew 3 creatures total. bit anyway. i had the white card that gave me a life whenever a creature was put on tge board (and also, w another enchantment, made all non-me creagurss and enchantments enter the board tapped, so. nya). so... rob had a card what dealt one damGe to all other players whenevr he puta. creature on the board. then he played united forces, which lets each player commit X mana to create X 1/1 soldier tokens on all players' boards. so. we made 28 white soldier tokens on everyones board. this killed perry, ans gave me, uh. 56 life (84 - 28). i then attacked ron for 28 w the soldiers, and drew sacred mesa, which lets me sacrifice 2 mana (1 any color, 1 white, but i had so many cards that said "this land can instead be tapped for 2 of any color, so like. ueah) to create a 1/1 flying pegasus token. so i. ended the game w 44 white 1/1 tokens. goblins get fucked.attack w my ssoldiers cuz his were tapped, so brought him down to 7 life. i didng catch what he did w the enchantment, but i think he said he like. put a copy of every creature on my side of the board onto his board, and then. cipying that enchantment 3 times. so. holy FUCK. wow. BUT those all came in tapped and i had 18 flying yokens, so. i still won! yay!!!! i won a game of magic!!!!!

Episode 5 - they finally swapped us - Austin

I’m taking more of a leadership role on this tribe, trying to make more calls with the challenge. On a smaller tribe it is less risky to do that, and also more risky to go to tribal if people find a reason to target you its easy to get numbers. Dylan especially is a worry for me, in the past he has turned on me for absolutely no reason, so idk how much I can trust him. Dan seems ok, he gave us good intel about the other tribe. Still makes sense to vote him out if we go to tribal though lets not make enemies out of the og tribe just to save one guy.

I think I’m cursed. This will be the fifth tribal council in a row I’m attending. Like how does this even happen? And of course I had to be dumb enough to step up and do the tie breaker which sent us to tribal. At first glance this could very well be the end of my game. However, Heather and I have been messaging and she said she’s going to talk to Chips and see about making a move to keep me in the game. I think if we were on larger tribes and the challenge was different I might have thrown it. Bit as it is tribal only presents three options: a) vote out dan, which is not a big move or anything and is not going to change much. b) save dan, and vote out someone from my og tribe, which would piss off 8 other people I had ground work with, and c) Dan pulls something out of his ass and survives, voting one of us out. So yeah, no good scenarios for my long term game at tribal. However without it I can keep my relationships while also building new bridges with Dan that could help come merge and further.

If Glo is truly the vote tonight, I’m probably going to cry. Not even going to sugar coat it. I’ll be crying. She’s just so pure and so nice and just this incredible person. I’m trying to not let it sway my judgement too much. I’m tearing up just thinking about her leaving. But if Heather and Chips are being honest with me and not conspiring against me they’ve both said they’d vote for Glo. And all I need to do right now is stay in the game. Against all odds, I might just manage to stay in the game in a disasterous 4v1 swap. The biggest downside after this is getting Evan(?) back from Oak Island. Oh damn, I didn’t see that coming. There are two possible situations here: 1) That Keegan managed to pull two votes in with promises and shit, and 2) That there was a pre-existing alliance against Chips (and others) that I wasn’t aware of. This is worrying, not only did I just lose someone I wanted to work with but it shows I’m not that aware of what’s going on. Not good.

I watched the tribal council. Keegan wasn’t even on the chopping block which is great. Glo seems like a lovely lady and seems easy to bond and manipulate. Great for me 🐍. Our alliance including Dan, with Keegan and his allies can make a strong group and potential majority. I feel like at merge I can play my cards right and secret pull strings.

The CGI has gotten better 8)))))))))I LOVE THESE KIDS SO MUCH. They’re so good. Like we already know they’re amazing actors since Season 1. But i kind of liked the flashbacks of her surviving in the forest. And i also appreciate the fact most of the adult she has encountered arent mean to her. They’re always genuinely concerned for her well being and wished her well in her en devours.  8))))))

I like Eleven’s father-daughter relationship with Hopper. He’s relearning to be a dad and she’s learning how to human(?) and find herself. and its cute and they’re gonna be ok. (but i find the Mom files, that she finds, being in the cabin a little too convinent??? like hopper could have kept it in his house? but he also might have moved out to the cabin as well… *SHRUGS*) I’m just happy Hopper has an Arc of his own this season. The episode with her sister was kind of out of place? and kind of loses the urgency in the story and its feels disjointed??? but I also hope she’ll one day reunite with her sister and they’ll patch things up. (season 3!!!!!!!!!!!!)CAN WE ALSO TALK ABOUT LUCAS AND MAX?????????? THEY’RE SO CUTE. Lucas was really great. Im glad they gave him more screen time and really delved down to his character so he no longer seems like he’s angry 24/7. The glimpsed  we get of his home life is such a gem. I love it. especially his sister. WAHAHHAHA I sometimes think Max was added in for the sake of middle school romance and throwing a wrench in the boy’s friendship….. Like i dont hate her perse… i just didnt like how handled her character.  Like the time between after she helped out setting the trap in the junk yard; up until the time she stabbed her brother in the throat with morphine…. she was kind of tossed aside. i feel like there was some sort of deleted scene where she figures out how to drive a car ????? idk. in the last season where peter capaldi was the doctor, two seasons ago now, he had a new companion, Bill. she was a black lesbian and literally the only reason i started watching doctor who again. i loved her, and i was really glad to see the show moving back towards the more diverse cast of characters that we saw in the late aughts. then the season had a repeated theme of FORCING her to either repress or not feel her emotions. there are two scenes that stand out most to me. in an ep set in like, early 19th century london, she and the doctor are talking to a racist rich white dude who is being super nasty to Bill. the doctor keeps telling her to cool it and not show how angry she is. then HE gets to punch the guy out and knock him to the floor.

this theme of the white man being the only one allowed to get angry was big all season, iirc. then at the end of the season, Bill is turned into a cyberman. they’re usually like. soulless scary automatons, but some characters keep their individuality, which has been explored in a few past seasons, usually leading up to a tragic/heroic death. in Bill’s case, they did this trick with filming where we could see her perspective of herself in some shots–an intensely emotional performance, Bill was completely traumatized and her actress was working her ass off–and in others, just this metal body incapable of expression, scaring people like she was a monster and monotoning these otherwise very emotional statements. it’s an interesting narrative device, but after a whole season of this show putting Bill through all kinds of terrible shit and forcing her not to show her feelings on the matter, it hit me as like. this nauseating exaggeration of how society treats actual black lesbians as monsters and tries to make them bottle up their emotions and especially their justifiable anger. anyway, then Bill died and got to be with her dead girlfriend from her first episode. wow, cool.

idk what made me watch the season after that. i guess i wanted to see the new doctor, and i liked her companions (one was like. a young man with disabling neurological symptoms, tbh even if i’d missed Bill’s season that might have had me back on board). i had plenty of problems with how the season played out, obvs, but nothing was standout horrible to me the way the shit with Bill had been (except maybe the episode that started out like ‘space amazon is a hellhole’ and somehow ended with ‘space amazon was taken advantage of by a broken AI that hurt some people and they didnt fix the infrastructure we explicitly showed harmed their workers but now it’s fine!’ if that sounds weird and heavy handed with an unsatisfying ending, it’s because it was). the new season tho? the OPENING EPISODES OF THE NEW SEASON, THO? it opens with alexa product placement, in an episode about how a fictionalized google was actually run by a black man who had ties to a large number of aliens who had secretly infiltrated our society, altered our dna, and shit like that. so uh, 1. brand war lmao, sellouts etc etc 2. y’all remember those conspiracy theories about jews? and white supremacist beliefs that black people are ruining the world but aren’t smart enough to do it on their own so they must be agents of jewish corruption? HUH. HUH! that’s not even my big problem with the fuckin thing, but it’s FOR SURE a suspicious writing move from a tv show with suuuuch a huge viewership. (and it’s just plain embarrassing for a show with alexa product placement to try to go all scary panopticon tropes specifically @ a google analogue.)

anyway, we run into an old recurring antagonist, the master, a time lord like the doctor. he’s a guy again after having been a woman for a few seasons, and now played by an actor of color. i figure the reasoning at least partly relied on “dude, how fucked up will it be if we force the doctor’s black friend to call a white dude master” but i was immediately afraid it might go to the like…. Righteous White Woman Gets The Better Of Evil Brown Man tropes and oh boy!!!! i tried to be good and give it the benefit of the doubt until i saw something racist but it wasted no time. the doctor got stuck in the past at one point, and met the master, who was currently a military official with the third reich. oh boy. so she asks him why they let him work with them and he explains he’s using a device to psychically disguise himself, they see him as white. (we missed a great chance for him to monologue about how they were willing to bend their morals when they saw how evil he could get or something.) this was awkward enough for me as a viewer, but i wasn’t prepared to go into it, in case there was some tiny shred of nuance somewhere that would make this situation anything but a clusterfuck.

well, the doctor executes a genuinely clever scheme and makes a radio transmission to the brits that she knows won’t reach em, talking about how helpful this officer has been–setting up the master to be falsely outed as a double agent when the nazis intercept it. she tells the master this and then skedaddles, letting him be arrested by his own men. could be a satisfying karmic victory where he presumably gets a military trial and weasels out of his fate, although i don’t like the implications of a white woman punishing a brown man for racism. BUT IT DIDN’T STOP THERE! she disables his psychic filter, causing his men to see his true identity as a man of color–she exposes her oldest frenemy and Basically The Only Time Lord Who’ll Talk To Her to nazi racism when he was ALREADY about to fall into their hands as a prisoner. what could have been a marginally satisfying defeat was instead a kind of emotional horrorshow for me as i had to stop and wonder what kind of hell they’d put him through and why the writers decided that the doctor (who has literally since the show began in like the sixties been set up as an enemy of naziism via allegory and has always been firm in the idea that NOBODY, including literal maneating space monsters, deserves to be treated as less than human) would DO that. IT’S LATER IMPLIED HE ESCAPED FROM A CONCENTRATION CAMP. the narrative DOES NOT allow time for that to sink in before moving on.

i dont have a conclusion 2 this. im just hurt as fuck about it. i hope i gave u the info u were looking for without getting too deep into my personal feelings, but it’s difficult, maybe impossible to be objective about stuff like this.

it all began.... on the fateful day.... of the 16th of January 2016... when jinyoung told a story.... that would change my life forever......

now, obviously, i lost my goddamn shit when i heard this for the first time like it still to this day is quite possibly the cutest thing ive ever heard in my entire life?? like its up there w all the other cute shit markjin have done but little did i know.... it would lead to my biggest conspiracy of all time

before moving on like... ok lets break this down. why did mark go to jinyoung’s bed?? why, of all places, did he choose jinyoung’s room?? he couldve gone anywhere, including literally his own room lmao, but he chose to sleep in jinyoung’s room. and this is not a coincidence bc its the exact day jinyoung is away. so was it a comfort thing?? like it was nice to b in jinyoung’s space whilst he wasnt there im yelling ok also! at this point, it had been established that jinyoung didn’t rlly like having coco in his room, he would go out nd play w her dont get me wrong, but his room was kind of off limits. mark knew this?? nd yet he still went in nd slept in jinyoungs room WITH COCO. he wouldn’t do that if he knew it bothered jinyoung so, secretly.... does it not bother jinyoung?? does he actually not mind and is just being dramatic w this story to make us laugh?? is he.... wait for it folks.... used to it?? is this a regular thing?

but that doesnt really imply theyre sharing a bedroom, per say, just that they were at the dorm together over chuseok when the rest of the boys werent... but we were made to think mark was at the dorm by himself?? it was strange and dorm related so im adding it but it STILL wasnt enough for me to get my full tinhat out

then the boys did an interview where they were asked who they would room with out of all the boys. jinyoung, who was the only one at the time who had a room to himself, easily couldve just stayed by himself. but.... he said mark.

AND AGAIN i didnt think much of it like its cute that they want to room together nd mark reacted so happily when jinyoung said that but alas, the dorm they were living in at the time made that dream impossible.

BUT THEN.... we got the news that got7 had moved dorms.

so...... the point that was made, over and over, was that all the boys had their own rooms apart from yugbam who wanted to continue rooming together. like this was ingrained in us. almost.... too much perhaps?? nd little things were being dropped that made me side eye a lil like mark always going to turn jinyoung’s light out when it was getting late even tho their bedrooms arent near each other nd mark going to jinyoung in the middle of night when he cant sleep bc of his booster nd a fan asked jinyoung if he would room with mark nd he said yes nd the same fan asked mark the same question nd mark said “i like him” in 3 different languages like... cmon. i was beginning to get my suspicions but i didnt have much to go on...

But Then.........both mark and jinyoung majorly fucked up lmao

2jae were doing a vlive nd they decided to call mark nd when mark answered he said he was brushing his teeth nd u could hear all these noises of brushing nd spitting nd 2jae started laughing nd said they could hear the sound of him brushing his teeth nd mark was like “oh.. really?? that’s not me, that’s jinyoung. he’s next to me” but then jaebum said jinyoung was at a schedule??? nd this threw me into a fucking tinhatting spiral bc ok.... who is lying?? if mark tried to cover up that he was brushing his teeth, why was the 1st person he thought of jinyoung?? but if jaebum was the one who lied then for what reason?? why would he need us to think jinyoung wasnt there in the dorm with mark getting ready for bed?? so if mark WAS telling the truth... then why tf was he sitting next to jinyoung whilst jinyoung was brushing his teeth!!! is this a thing!!!! do they accompany each other to the bathroom nd just chill whilst the other is brushing their teeth!!! is it bc they get ready together bc they’re both going to bed iN THE SAME ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!

AND IT HONESTLY DOESNT EVEN END THERE!!! whilst mark was away doing lotj, the boys were asked which room in the dorm they liked the most......... nd jinyoung said mark’s. bc it was.... the simplest. the simplest....... what kind of bullshit thin excuse im literally yelling fucking simplest??? ??? what!!!!!!! he didnt even elaborate like wtf does that mean?? whats wrong with his own room???? all the other boys answered their own rooms!!! what!!!! the fuck!!!!!
