Idr how canon dsmp is to q!Phil but he still has the friendship emerald charm hanging from his hat. Perhaps it's from the Antarctic Empire days instead. I wouldn't say he has a bad temper. He's very well-practiced at self-control. However, there are certain things that set him off so severely, he throws self-control out the window. Those things aren't worthy of him trying to be "the bigger person." They deserve their ass handed to them right here right now (see: The Codes pre-current lore).

In a similar vein, when the situation isn't one of those special Fuck This incidences, he still doesn't have a temper, but when he finally snaps, he SNAPS. As to your question, yes unfortunately I have had to hide my accent many times growing up (I had moved from Texas to another state--kids can be awful :/) and now when I'm out in public even as an adult I try to subdue it. My friends I made after moving always tended to / still do mimick me from time to time (although it's lovingly,,, it still. Bothers me.)

Having said that, please know if it bothers you too that none of your f/os would ever mimick you!!!!! They wouldn't want to say or do anything that made you feel unsafe in talking the way you naturally are inclined to 🥺 they may tell you to your face, "I like how you say XYZ" tho <3

I'm so, so sorry you've been told country accents are annoying and thus made to feel ashamed or the need to hide yours- country accents are wonderful, they're a fingerprint on humanity's surface just like French and Spanish, all beautiful, all unique and yours ain't no exception!!!!

As for country music, you're gosh dang right and I'm glad you said it. It saddens me that so many people hate it, especially because I grew up on it and it's a comfort genre. Yes, a lot of country is somewhat washed out due to commercialism and feels repetitive but there are some deep, emotional, moving country songs that soothe me and I reckon soothe you too and I'm glad we have those songs 😭 I'd be happy to hear any that you personally enjoy and wouldn't mind sharing some if you're interested!
