the 1999 hxh anime looks leagues better than the 2011 remake in almost every way I'm SO sad that they ended it so early
#nerd alert#the one exception being the designs of the black characters bc woof the old ones were. just a little bit rough#canarys very first appearance was like HUH...#but the actual artstyle was SO MUCH BETTER. like holy shit#i dont even know how to express whats wrong w the newer one it just looks like...cheap somehow in some shots#weird angles and odd color choices and characters just slightly off-model but not in a charming way. in an uncanny way#idk maybe id be less biased if id started with the 2011 one but apparently they skipped the big ship part bc it wasnt in the manga#which is insane to me bc it led so well into the phase 4 arc like!!! everyone comes together and cooperates as a team and bonds and then#suddenly you cant trust anyone bc we're all hunting each other. its delicious
