controversial take maybe but I think sometimes a book is improved upon through the lens of an English/literature class
#shut up zach#idk man sometimes there’s something in analyzing themes and symbols as a group that makes a book easier to understand#I don’t get many ‘ahhhh’ moments reading alone#like I still get those moments but sometimes it’s nice just to have another’s perspective#this is why I wish I was in a book club ;-;#anyway I’m reading huckleberry Finn rn and it’s so hard with the way Twain writes the dialogue#like I’m following the story for the most part but dear GOD#it took me way to long to realize when Jim said ‘dad’ he meant ‘god’#I need a high school English teacher STAT ;-;
