What if Frost had returned home to his village, and got to talk to his parents? What if he had opened the door, and was greeted with this little girl that looks identical to his father?

At first, Frost assumed she was a cousin of some kind (unbeknownst to him or his parents, the Order intercepted any letter to and from him, so Frost had zero idea of what was happening back home). Then his mother explains that she isn’t—she is, in fact, his baby sister.

Frost immediately has that knee-jerk reaction of “you replaced me?” (I imagine he’s only about 18-20 at this point, and hadn’t heard from his parents whatsoever in the decade or so he’s been gone). His parents immediately try to explain that it wasn’t like that—that his mother suddenly found herself pregnant—but that doesn’t stop the look of sheer hurt in his face.

And he wants to leave at first, and then he looks into that little girl’s large green eyes, and asks for her name. She excitedly tells him her name is Morning Sun, or Sun for short.

Over the next 2 or 3 years, he learns more about his sister. She doesn’t have any of his powers, but she’s intelligent and adventurous and reminds Frost of himself when he was young—back before the Psionic Order. They quickly bond, and sooner or later, Frost found himself a chattering shadow with fur white as the snow capped mountains.

And then there was a raid on the village, and Frost took his sister and ran. He remembers the scream of the other Tabaxi, and then…nothing.

The nothing was worse than the screams.

Frost and Sun wandered the world for a bit. By the time Sun turns 10-12 (she’s 13 years younger than Frost, so her age here depends on Frost’s age), they encounter Gricko tending to a very young Hootsie. They agree to travel together, and the rest is history.

Gricko starts calling Sun “Sunny”, and soon, everyone starts calling her that—including Frost. The rest of the party absolutely adores Sunny, and she loves them all. She and Hootsie are best friends, and Sunny picks up some Gricko’s Druidic teachings.

She joins the party into the Feywild. I know the timeline in canon is kinda vague, but I’d say Sunny is about 15-20 around this point. She just ends up becoming a second Gricko, except she almost exclusively does healing while Gricko is actually able to do damage this time
