Okay hold up, I get it, the next four years are gonna be kinda chaotic. Is this just a cover up for stealing more money? Idk maybe lmao it’s trumps Oompa Loompa ass. And I know at some point one of his plans were to make it harder to elect democrats. Harder, not impossible. I personally don’t believe it’s impossible to eradicate the Democratic Party. Laws and stuff like that are reversible. Like it might take a few months but everything’s reversible. I don’t know what else people want to hear, like I have sympathy but I’m also trying to look at this from a logistical point of view.
#us politics#idk I’m yapping#everyone’s reactions are bugging me a lot#it’s both parties but I’m a fucking asshole soooo#everyone needs to get out of their ever powerful or end of the world mindsets and go back to living your lives#like people have done during the rest of previous presidential terms for years#idk if you look back at trumps shit from 2016 it’s similar to the shit he’s saying now#nothing lasting happened then and I doubt the soon to be dementia riddled bitch can do anything that will be long lasting now#please go live you’re lives and stop stressing about stuff like this#it’s not healthy for anyone

paul krugman and the art of doubling down on shitty takes
so on september 11th, famed nyt editorial writer, keynesian economist and fave of your racist liberal uncle, paul krugman, wrote one of the shittiest takes I have ever seen on twitter, which is SAYING SOMETHING.
krugman famously tweeted this:
and got a million virtual shoes thrown at him for being so ignorant, because anti-muslim hate crimes did actually escalate after 9/11, and the bush administration eagerly fanned the flames of islamophobia in order to make their illegal wars in afghanistan and iraq popular with the public. muslims, sikhs, indians, literally anyone vaguely brown, and lots of black ppl too, were terrorized by their neighbors, (former) friends, classmates, coworkers, etc. and anyone with a muslim friend knows this happened because they've told us about it. and these attacks were reported on. they were, I remember reading about them when I was a kid.
(paul krugman works for the new york fucking times, and while I think the nyt is warmongering centrist garbage, they do actually report on things that happen in the world. he writes editorials for them, surely he reads the damn paper once in a while).
so today, I log on to twitter and see he has decided not to apologize, but rather do the ol' double down, which always works out well.
here are some highlights:
okay so first thing's first, no apology (obviously) since this is a double down. but we got a chart, and liberals do love a good chart when they are being racist and ahistorical.
he admits that the chart is actually inaccurate because it excludes all the other victims of anti-muslim hate crimes who weren't actually muslim (read: the innocents). okay. so already he is losing credibility because he is using an inaccurate chart as the basis of his double down, and really, we love to see it.
after this there's some shit about how he didn't say there wasn't an outbreak of white americans attacking muslims and people mistaken for muslims, but rather that it could have been worse. lol well anything can be worse than it was, as 2020 has taught us. it’s a pedantic mess and I didn’t feel like that was the meat of the double down.
so first off, the iraq war was definitely started for many reasons, but islamophobia was part of it. the bush administration wanted to invade iraq and depose saddam hussein, and steal iraq’s oil for multinational oil companies lbr, and so they exploited americans fears about muslims by propagandizing about how it was important for us to attack them over there before they attacked us over here with their weapons of mass destruction, and of course they would attack us over here if given the chance. why? because they hate our way of life here, our freedom. those things were LITERALLY said by bush people and also by their stans at fox news and the wsj, and yes, in the editorial pages at the nyt.
so to someone like paul krugman, who knows lots of conservatives who don’t seem racist, or are educated and distinguished and just... like war? idk but to him, he sees people like them and says, well... they’re not like uneducated filthy poors in west virginia, not that kind of racist.
but what he doesn’t get, or he is being deliberately obtuse about, is that in order for the bush people to dehumanize muslims the way they did, they had to personally place less value on the lives of iraqis than on the value of that sweet crude oil. they were willing to go to war, sacrifice hundreds of thousands of civilians in the process (as well as thousands of american soldiers, but this isn’t about them) because they didn’t see them as anything but collateral damage. and that is fucking racist.
and while I have no interest in playing the “which racist is worse” game, when the west virginia uneducated racist endangers those around them, the politician rich harvard educated racist writes policy and lies us into illegal wars that endanger millions. both are bad, both are racist.
and by the way, him “sticking his neck out” to speak up against going to iraq was brave and necessary, especially because the nyt was pushing the invasion. but when you put it like that... you just sound like a tool. like it was a burden to call out the liars and imperialists. bitch, you’re paul krugman, a nobel laureate and renowned economist. I do not want to discount the IMMENSE pressure and blacklisting that opponents of the bush administration experienced, because showing any opposition to the wars at the time was risky. but idk the way he put that just irked me, especially since he didn’t even lose his job like many in the media did when they spoke up.
usually what liberals do when they fuck up publically is a fake ass apology and a few hail marys, and I assumed he would be on twitter begging for forgiveness on this one since his garbage take went so viral and pissed off so many people. and of course was wrong.
but then he does this:
yeah. your eyes are not deceiving you. that chart is measuring anti-black, anti-lgbtq and anti-”islamic” (lmao who says that bro just say anti-muslim or islamophobic) hate crimes. shut up leftist twitter, black people have it worse than muslims according to my inaccurate chart. so stop attacking me, a rich white man who doesn’t really care about anything other than my reputation.
there is a lot to unpack here, namely that paul krugman is using faux concern for black people as a way to deflect from his shitty ahistorical take about how much restraint white americans showed after 9/11 towards muslims. maybe krugman doesn’t know any black muslims, but they exist. also oppression olympics is stupid even when used by well meaning essentialists, let alone by milquetoast academics.
not to mention that he has already discounted his own shitty chart by saying it doesn’t show the full picture of what happened in these anti-muslim attacks. but even if we take this chart seriously, it actually does not really support his point. look at how many more hate crimes there were against muslims in 2001 than there were in 2000. there are significantly more black people than muslims in the united states. I am not good at math, and surely I am no nobel laureate, but it seems to me that hate crimes against black people increased a little, and hate crimes against muslims increased a lot. and this chart only takes into account three years, and only two of which are post-9/11. so... idk man maybe we should look at what happened in, say, 2003? 2004? how about all of the 2000s?
(source: https://www.pri.org/stories/2016-09-12/data-hate-crimes-against-muslims-increased-after-911)
oh, that is actually pretty consistently bad! yes, there was one spike in 2001/2002, but it isn’t like we went back down to pre-9/11 numbers afterwards. and I am not sure if this information includes non-muslims targeted for “looking muslim” but I would say it is unlikely, since the data seem pretty similar to krugman’s olympic shit.
I am not writing this because paul krugman is particularly shit-for-brains, or because I hate him more than like... idk any other moron on twitter. there were plenty of anti-muslim takes on twitter friday like there are every 9/11, and every day. but krugman is actually someone liberals respect. he is, after all, a nobel laureate and a keynesian economist, and fairly mild mannered. when people in the media like krugman write these ahistorical shitty takes they are, as chomsky wrote, MANUFACTURING CONSENT. it is a deliberate tactic, and it works. and if you want to learn more about this theory, check out this short clip by al jazeera narrated by amy goodman (of democracy now). the media manufactured american consent when they pushed the wars. they continue to do so when they try to rewrite george bush’s history by making trump seem uniquely terrible to muslims.
elites in the press and in government have been trying to whitewash and rehabilitate george bush’s reputation for YEARS, and they are succeeding. and why would they want to do that? well, there are a lot of reasons. one, a lot of people in washington are complicit in bush’s crimes. two, democrats think they need to appeal to moderate republicans (lol) in order to win elections, and I guess they think there are moderate republicans left (lol!), and that those moderate republicans like george bush (LOLLL). three, they want to make trump look uniquely terrible. if they do that, then no one but trump needs to be held to account for his government’s failings. but these are just my speculation.
do not let them rehabilitate george bush any further than they have. it is a fucking shame he will never be held to account for war crimes, but an extra slap in the face to all of his victims when we act like he didn’t do things he did. like stoke anti-muslim hate. he invaded muslim countries with a smile on his face, and that is pretty fucking hateful.
paul krugman doubled down and tried to use Black Lives Matter like a human fucking shield. seems a bit racist imo.

Hello! So now that got has ended I'm looking for some tv shows that I could watch after I'm done with my exams. Do you have any suggestions? I'm not looking for anything specific, although if you have watched some good period dramas, I'd love some recommendations. Also wanted to add how much I love your blog, it's really beautiful
tysm that’s so sweet!! i love giving recs so i’ve got a bunch that you might like under the cut; i’ve put a ♡ next to my favs
period dramas:
NEW WORLDS (2014)this one is a mini series, only 4 episodes long, but please don’t let that stop you! it’s about anti-monarchism and rebellion and forbidden love in the 1600′s & is set in both england and america. i cried more than once but the ending is so bittersweet and hopeful!!
POLDARK (2015—)i have a love/hate relationship with this one tbh. i started watching because of the main relationship but i ended up really into it for the side relationships instead?? the actual political plot doesn’t interest me but i love the drama between the family members. also i adore the women in this show, every single female character is well-written and realistic and you’ll love them all (even if at times you hate them). the men tho? the men are pretty much collectively the worst. “what’s wrong with the women in this family?” “the men.”
SPARTACUS (2010—2013) ♡i started watching this before i ever got into game of thrones but if you like the fight scenes in got, you’ll enjoy this! great characters, great fight scenes, great friendships. this one is based on gladiators who are fighting for their freedom.
THE WHITE PRINCESS (2017) ♡okay firstly and most importantly: jodie comer stars in this so you know it’s good. it’s also got michelle fairly (catelyn stark) in it though tbh she wasn’t my favourite character in this and i didn’t find her likeable at all. it’s not very historically accurate ofc but the relationship between henry/elizabeth is honestly the perfect enemies to lovers rep & always lowkey reminds me of book!sansa/jon possibilities
PAN AM (2011—2012)this one isn’t like game of thrones at all but it’s only one season and it’s super cute and has a lot of famous actresses in it like christina ricci & margot robbie. based on the adventures of a crew of pan am stewardesses, this is a good combination of lighthearted fun and chilling cold-war drama. an old favourite.
THE MUSKETEERS (2014—2016) ♡i’ll be gushing over this for years to come tbh it’s really just that perfect. the relationship between the musketeers is so lovely, the personification of ‘brotherhood’ really, but also the romantic relationships are really good too?? which for some reason i personally hadn’t expected. my fav couple is aramis/anne (anne is played by the actress who played roslin frey!) because the forbidden love & the respect and adoration between those two is just perfect but really every relationship (even the ones that don’t become endgame) are written very well
OUTLANDER (2014—)i haven’t watched every single episode of this one but from what i have seen it’s very good, and has some similar themes to game of thrones!! the sex scenes are epic, the main relationship is lovely, and overall its a very realistic show that features supernatural elements!
THE LAST KINGDOM (2015—) ♡i’m not going to lie: i started this series by skipping straight to 2x7 because i’d seen gifs of the relationship between aethelflaed and erik but it was so good i ended up going back and starting from the beginning! this show reminds me of ‘vikings’ more tham game of thrones but it’s not as gory and the characters aren’t all assholes. side note: if you love sansa stark as much as i do you’re gonna love aethelflaed, lady of mercia! she’s actually a real person but this show is based on a book series that looks super interesting! honestly the main character also kind of reminds me of jon snow
HARLOTS (2017—) ♡oh my gosh how do i describe this show?? the family dynamics are so! intricate! and! beautiful! honestly just stunning. everything about this show is s t u n n i n g. the costumes are colourful and vivid and honestly i’d recommend watching just for that but the storyline really does keep you hooked!! also: liv tyler and jessica brown findlay are love interests in this which is honestly a dream come true
BLACK SAILS (2015—2017)okay full disclosure; i haven’t actually seen this but i’ve heard very good things and it’s on my list!! it’s about pirates, i think there’s some queer rep (can anybody confirm??), and there’s lots of amazing women. again, allegedly.
dramas:
THE SOCIETY (2018—)i literally watched the entire first season in a single night so it must be alright, right? basically all you need to know about this is that a town full of teenagers go on a field trip & then return to find all their parents mysteriously missing and their town closed off from the outside world. it’s basically lord of the flies but modern! with some kick-ass friendships! and amazing young women (one literally teaches herself to be a doctor can you believe?)!
SHARP OBJECTS (2018)if you haven’t heard about this one yet idk what rock you’ve been living under but welcome back! this one is a m a z i n g but also hella chilling and the ending is such a shocker if it hasn’t been spoiled for you yet!
THE BOLD TYPE (2017—) ♡i always describe this one as ‘sex and the city for millennials’ but i’ve never watched a single sex and the city episode in my life so i honestly don’t know how accurate that is?? but it’s about a group of 20-something year old women who are best friends and work mates and they love each other so much?? the relationship between the girls is my favourite thing about the show but the show honestly tackles a lot of relevant issues; trump, age gaps, queer rep, immigration, racism, etc. i can’t recommend this enough!
CODE BLACK (2015—2018) ♡you know those episodes in greys anatomy where everything is life-or-death and you’re on edge for the whole episode? that’s basically every single episode of code black. this is hands-down one of my most rewatched shows ever. i love medical dramas and this one balances well written characters with action-packed medical miracles so honestly what’s not to like??
A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES (2018—)okay admittedly the only reason i watch this show is because of the main couple but i can’t help it when they’re just so gosh-darn cute!! they love each other so god damned much! i wasn’t completely sold on this straight away but by ep 3 i was HOOKED. if you like supernatural romances/dramas that are more mature than your usual cw show, this one is a good choice!
THE OA (2016—) ♡i can’t even put into words how much i adore this?? but also: it will confuse THE SHIT out of you. no matter how smart you are, this one will leave you scratching your head. basically: a group of people who’ve had near-death experiences get kidnapped and experimented on. it’s not as brutal as it sounds, in fact the show is exceptionally beautiful, but it does deal with some hard themes and the good guys don’t always win.
12 MONKEYS (2015—2018)do you like time travel? do you like forbidden and yet totally-still-devoted-to-one-another-anyway love? then this is the show for you! this one is dark and gritty and deals pretty realistically with the concept of time travel & self-sacrifice and what people will give up to create a better world. it’s got a happy ending & you wont regret watching!
THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE (2018)oh this one will make you cry. in a good way though! long story short a family grows up in a haunted house and it affects them in ways they cannot imagine. it’s hauntingly beautiful and poetic and everybody should watch it at least once imo
comedies:
THE MARVELOUS MRS MAISEL (2017—)okay so this one counts as a period drama as well but it’s about a COMEDIAN so i put it in the comedy section lol. okay so long story short, a woman is left by her husband, she’s worth 1000 of him & everybody else knows it because you seriously can’t help falling in love with this woman but ofc there’s period-typical sexism she has to face as she struggles with being a single woman, a single mother, and an up-and-coming comedian. def recommend.
SANTA CLARITA DIET (2017—2019)drew barrymore is a zombie!! who lives a normal life but also eats people!! it’s only weird for the first couple of eps. the family dynamics are snarky and witty and they manage to make gore funny?? honestly this entire show is legit laugh-out-loud darkly hilarious.
#if you like any of these & want some recs that are similar please feel free to send another message!#i've got some movies you might like as well#cool ask tag

DIAMOND HEART
I was surprisingly oblivious to the fucking fact that
Because
TBH ...
like T B H... i was so annoyed when she got engaged LMFAO like literally she was like He Gave Me His Heart On Valentines Day<33 and i LITERALLY was like
But once it was pointed out to me the whole song made sense Lol it chronologizes her life in a similar way to BJ † AF, with the first verse covering her go-go dancing days with her newly revealed (post-Till It Happens To You) trauma, (“some asshole broke me in, wrecked all my innocence”), with the second verse “a cruel king made me tough” being about Lüc Carl (”I’m just a holy fool, oh baby, he’s so cruel”)... which could place the trauma sometime either RIGHT before she made it big (~2008), or during The Fame (2008-2009), because she dated Lüc again during TFM/BTW... but with the bridge (“better get a good look baby, ‘cause soon I’m breaking out of here...”), we can place the entire song as pre-The Fame (2008)!
So the song is saying that she’s had bad ...romances in the past, but she managed to find “the one,” (”I might not be flawless, but you know I got a diamond heart”)
The only thing I’m confused about is whether she wrote this song pre- or post-breakup with Taylor... it seems like everything from LG5′s first attempt (the one that RedOne produced 8 tracks for, with a single to be debuted at the 2016 Grammys) got scrapped when Mark Ronson was brought in to produce (~January/February 2016), and Gaga was notably distant from Taylor throughout early-mid 2016 before announcing they broke it off...
Hmm
A-YO
JOANNE
So obviously I know this post is mostly just a joke but... what if it’s not?
Honestly, I know where you’re going And baby, you’re just moving on And I still love you even if I can’t see you anymore Can’t wait to see you soar
“So just so you know, someday you'll be up here instead of me, and I'll be sitting in the back cheering all you guys on.” (~2010–2011 at The Monster Ball)
“I hope that you always remember this time in our lives together, when we painted each other’s faces and called each other “Monsters”. Talked about love and art, all night long. Every year when I travel around the world, I always wonder if things will be different. Maybe one year you won’t come to the show, or you’ll be less festive, or not dressed up. What I realized during ARTPOP is that we belong together and sometimes some stories have no end. I will follow you around the world as long as you’ll have me because I love making music, I love making art and I love, love meeting all of you beautiful and creative people. When this song is over, the clock will start ticking until the next time. I appreciate you so much, thank you for believing in me always. I’ll always believe in you. When I die, they’ll say, “Lady Gaga was special, but her fans, her Monsters, they were really something.” (2014 at the final ArtRave)
JOHN WAYNE
All songs with male names as the title are metaphors for her male partners; all songs with female names as the title are metaphors for herself!
Alejandro, Judas, John Wayne
Bloody Mary, The Queen, Venus, Donatella, Mary Jane Holland, Gypsy (with the exception of Joanne... except technically Joanne could be literally named after herself S0)
Hmm... John Wayne is lyrically about going for joyrides and both John Wayne and Judas had motorcycles in their videos so I was thinking maybe there was something more to it... like maybe all of the songs about male partners have this in common... except Alejandro doesn’t have anything to do with cars...
but then I remembered the existence of Summerboy, which technically could count as a male name... “hey there Summerboy, let’s go for a drive...” and THEN i remembered that there’s this:
which was pointed out as eerie foreshadow 1.5 years ahead of this:
which is might’ve lead to “bust the rearview and fire up the jets ‘cause it’s you and me, baby, for life” in Gypsy... not to mention we also just got this for John Wayne
So she’s told this same story... on every single album.......¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ and it still slays us every single tiMe¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿???//¿¿
DANCIN’ IN CIRCLES
This song is about masturbation, and some fans noticed it’s also an acronym for DIC...
Glitter and Grease is also a song about masturbation, and also an acronym for GAGA (Glitter And Grease Around)...
PERFECT ILLUSION
EXPECTATION: COULD THE METALLICA / GAGA COLLAB AT THE GRAMMYS FINALLY BE THE DEBUT AMERICAN TELEVISION PERFORMANCE OF PERFECT ILLUSION??
Reality:
Anyways, as with all her lead singles that I initially hated, I have really grown to adore Perfect Illusion. I hope it gets a true epic moment that it deserves... sigh
MILLION RAISINS
If you think about it, every single song performed at the Superbowl was laced with a double entendre, whether it was already written into the song, or it was freshly baked in due to current events.
Obviously her God Bless America / This Land Is Your Land medley has been deciphered as the latter was written as a protest song, tapped off with her excerpt of the Pledge of Allegiance, “ONE nation, under god, INDIVISIBLE, with liberty, and justice for ALL”...
Dance in the Dark, a song about finding a way to be happy when you’re living in fear and insecurity; “Tell ‘em how you feel, girls”
LoveGame, a song essentially about embracing your sexuality
Paparazzi, “We are the crowd” / “Don’t stop for anyone”
The Edge of Glory, a song about the passing of her Italian-immigrant grandfather who she saw as a champion of life in his dying moments
Poker Face, a song about bisexuality!
BORN THIS WAY IM FUCKING CRYING
Telephone/Just Dance, following her mission with this performance of wanting to make everyone feel good + forget about their fears, “I don’t wanna think anymore, I left my head and my heart on the dance floor” / “Just dance, gonna be OK”
Million Reasons has a new meaning for everyone feeling scared, feeling unsafe, wanting to abandon the country altogether, maybe even wanting to give up on life altogether; “I’ve got a hundred million reasons to walk away... but baby I just need one good one to stay”—she starts off the whole song with “America... world... how you doin’...”, ever-so-subtly changes just ONE lyric, and saying it while looking and even pointing to camera TWICE, “I bow down to pray, I try to make the worst seem better. Lord, show me the way, to cut through all his worn-out leather...” and it’s immediately a different song from the one she wrote and released pre-Trump presidency.
Bad Romance, with the country of course!
SINNER’S PRAYER
When The Fame first came out, there were reviews for it citing Brown Eyes as the worst tracks because they come off inauthentic and I was like
But now we enter the Joanne era where she’s a country/folk singer seemingly out of nowhere, and although this is a perfectly good song, this one stands out the most, to me, as inauthentic. A-YO, John Wayne, and Dancin’ in Circles manage to take influences from the genre and turn them into pop songs, Joanne manages to still sound like a traditional Gaga ballad (Princess Die, Living on the Radio, I Wanna Be With You, etc)... but Sinner’s Prayer just... doesn’t.
I was thinking maybe it’s the instrument choice (guitar instead of piano)... but Joanne is basically done entirely with a guitar and there was no problem on that one... IDK
COME TO MAMA
“So why do we gotta put each other down when there’s more than enough love to Gaga-go around?”
God imagine if this was a Born This Way bonus track would we all have even made it all the way to 2017? Holy fucking shit. This song feels like every single good time I’ve ever had with the friends I’ve made through Lady Gaga, and, to that extent, this song sounds like every single time I was happy since 2009. I love this song so MUCH
The double-entendre here is that I can almost guarantee that this song was written with the intent for it to have become Hillary Clinton’s theme song, so it touches a lot upon the current state of our country... AS WELL AS, of course, the current state of her fans as she, “Mama” Monster is seeing that we all seemed to have forgotten all the love and acceptance we practiced during the Born This Way era.
Man, it wasn’t that long ago we were all living in the jungle...
Who are you gonna follow? There’s gonna be no future if we don’t figure this out...
Speaking, of course, about Hillary’s candidacy in regards to the country’s problems, as well as about needing to resolve her fans’ sudden indifference following ARTPOP and C2C if she’s to maintain her career!
Dude in a lab coat and a man of God Fought over prisms and a forty-day flood Well, I say rainbows did more than they've ever done So why do we gotta fight over ideas? We're talkin' the same old shit after all of these years
This is a beautifully written second verse talking about the age-old battle of religion vs science...
As well as the age-old battle of Monsters VS people who like this person; “rainbows” is Born This Way, as she suggests, being more successful and impactful than both... BUT dismissing stan wars altogether “so why do we gotta fight over ideas? We’re talking the same old shit after all of these years; Come to Mama”
HEY GIRL
This, to me, is the most important and necessary track to ever come out of 2016 and literally if you even slightly disagree, fucking block me please
ANGEL DOWN
When this song title and the concept was announced, I was so sure (and uncomfortable at the idea that) she was going to use it as a double-entendre for herself and her hits and misses post-2011, especially with this
But it would seem that she really did dedicate this solely to Trayvon Martin and the Black Lives Matter movement, and that’s exactly how it should be.
I also have a theory about alternate universe timelines and how this song would’ve gone into play if democracy actually existed and Hillary had won the election, but I’ll save that for another one of these days
Ok we are in for a treat, because although I preordered the physical release of the deluxe edition of Joanne, I was so busy through the end of last year that I was never able to import the CD into my library, so I just had the downloaded standard edition leak and have just been listening to that since then...
I heard (a live version? of) Grigio Girls, surprisingly never heard or saw proof of the existence of Just Another Day (which makes me sad that it might not be very good Lol) but I just sat my ass down and imported the remainder of the deluxe edition... so In The Words Of Mother Monster, Hear We Go...
GRIGIO GIRLS
Ok the production on this is just right, it would’ve served as a bridge between Diamond Heart’s genre crossover and Sinner’s Prayer’s flat out genre jump.
I... think,, this might be the weakest song on the album LOL AND I ONLY SAY THAT BECAUSE, objectively, it is. However, I do recognize how important it is to them and their friendship and if I was in that circle of friends, this song might be my absolute favorite song she’s ever WRITTEN! However I’m not, and I can step outside of that bias and see that this song isn’t nearly as strong as the rest.
It’s kind of like that “Monster For Life” song Gaga wrote for SPW and Lady Starlight + performed a capella at the 2014 SXSW set. It’s very sentimental for them and their circle of friends, but the melody is all over the place, the lyrics are pretty half-assed, so maybe it would’ve been better if these just stayed personal songs
I have a rule for songs (which I’ve started using with ARTPOP), and that is, “IF the song I dislike were a bonus track, would I like it more?” When Applause first came out I HATED it, but used this rule and TBH if it were a bonus track, it would’ve SLAYED MY WHOLE LIFE! (For the record, I ended up loving it all on its own just a couple of months later so don’t come for me) I also used this rule on Donatella, Dope, Fashion! and even Swine and Gypsy... and magically they’re all perfectly ok songs... but this rule doesn’t seem to be working on actual bonus track, Grigio Girls!
AGAIN, don’t come for me, I understand its importance and how personal it is
JUST ANOTHER DAY
OH MY GOD. WHAT THE FUCK THIS SONG IS SO GOOD... I THINK PROBABLY TOP 5 OR EVEN TOP 3 FAVORITE FROM THIS ALBUM??? HOW THE FUCK YALL PAID IT DUST IT IS SO SWEET AND PERFECT OMFG IT KINda sounds like Oh Well and Blueberry Kisses¿ especially with the horns and the way her voice sort of marches across the melody
Honestly this was literally me listening to it just now oMFg
but anyways omg i LOVE IT WHAT THE FUCk wow ok here’s my final rating I THINK
Come to Mama / Hey Girl
Just Another Day
A-YO
Dancin’ in Circles
Million Reasons / Angel Down / Perfect Illusion / John Wayne
Sinner’s Prayer
Joanne
Diamond Heart (sorry)
Grigio Girls (SORRY)
AnYwAyS thats all! I love this album : ‘ ) I think aside from Grigio Girls (SORRY!!!) even the songs that I don’t really like are still really good
And I still stand by the idea that she should re-release Joanne like she did with The Fame/The Fame Monster and call it Stefani Joanne
Ok thats all
