Luchia and Kaito are such an awful couple btw I hate them for each other
#they have cute moments here and there I guess#but Kaito is annoying and rude and kissed her without her consent#(never apologized. in fact iirc LUCHIA apologized for making him upset and not the other way around)#and Luchia gets irrationally jealous at the drop of a hat#I understand that Luchia physically can't communicate her romantic feelings but I also feel like generally#she's not the best at communicating#and then gets mad at Kaito for misinterpreting her#I wasn't sure if maybe they'd grow on me but they really haven't. I'm almost 40 episodes in and I still don't like the main couple#also I'm not clear on this- does he suspect her of being the mermaid? I feel like he figured it out once or twice#but then forgot about it#so now I'm like. okay so what does he think#idk idk I don't like them for each other. and don't like kaito generally#luchia's okay sometimes but she fawns over kaito so much that it gets a bit annoying#maybe I'm too gay for this lol. give me more Rina not understanding romance that was good I'll take that#Rina's my favourite character so far#I think I'd like Caren a little more if her singing was less awful lol sorry I feel so bad saying that#but every time she's in an episode I'm like ''PLEASE don't sing''#but she's a good character I like her a lot#also get the bbs out of here they ick me out big time#I like Hippo and Yuri but it's hard to be invested when they've barely had much screentime together#they mostly just think about each other. and don't actually interact#that may change we'll see#anyway sorry for yapping#enjoy my mmppp thoughts I guess

Cardcaptor Magicians and their Ceremonial Clothings
—Or what I'd like to call, the Pointy Hat™ Analysis
Welcome to Episode one of my random Cardcaptor Blabberings (or blabblecaptor— it's a working tag title), a "series" where I talk about random Cardcaptor things without doing that much deep diving because I hate too much research.
Since I'm notorious for starting things and not being consistent to the point of not even continuing what I started, let's see how this one goes. 😆 I'm also bad at words so wish me luck.
I'd like to start this off by saying 2 things:
this all started because I saw Sakura's pointy hat and got reminded by Kaito's ceremonial robe... then got reminded of Eriol's robe right after.
this isn't a serious analyzation of their outfits, given the reason i wanted to blabber about this is their pointy hats. also I'm more of a Nadeshiko when it comes to fashion: so far from the word 💀
Lastly, take this as a silly post while I try to learn how Tumblr works. I don't want people to use this as a source (or anything similar) because at the end of the day, this is all just silly typings of someone who excels in associating the most random stuff with each other without being able to explain why.
With all of that out of the way, Let's get started!
Tumblr media
like what i said earlier, the moment i saw Sakura's color page in Chapter 74 my mind went straight into Kaito's robe, and when my brain went to remind me of Kaito's ceremonial robe colored page, it immediately went to Eriol... And then started to compare the three, asking myself about their similarities aside from the initial idea of this entire post—the pointy hats.
i should put tm after saying pointy hats at this point...
starting off with the robes, all 3 of them have their attires in the color black. idk why it's like that, but it makes the gold in their clothing shine more i guess 😆
point is, the colors used in the robe are mostly dominated by neutral colors, most likely to make the intricate details pop up a lot more.
the patterns the clothings have also are (mostly—just in case if there's a part where it's not) symmetrical, visibly seen within the designs on the torso parts.
In this case, Eriol & Sakura's chest (?) part, and Yuna D. Kaito's back.
I could say it's the magicians' insignia but just in case it's not I'll settle with symmetrical symbols. 😅
~•~•~•~
...surely those were not the only similarities, right?
well, aside from the pointy hats™ and the color scheme & patterns their robes have...
...I also realized that they're also all powerful magicians;
Tumblr media
Eriol is Clow's reincarnation... or at least, half of it.
—And according to various Cardcaptor characters, he (Clow) was the most powerful magician to ever exist (but also the most fucked up one as well, i guess.)
Given that Clow's reincarnation were 2 people (he thought he could divide his magical abilities between them), Eriol still unfortunately got all of the magic and most of Clow's memories— literally passing down his title of being the most powerful magician onto Eriol.
This manchild can also do lots of spells as he has Clow's magic, and his memory of his past life helps him excel in some of everyday skills a "normal child" would struggle with (ie. baking, drawing, sewing, speaking a language, etc). But, no one knows that— not even Sakura until he told her that himself.
Also I'd like to point out the fact that despite a lot of his robe's designs were in gold (color, who knows if it's really gold? I don't.), the lining of his outfit is in red.
not sure if Clow's robe is similar (if not the same) or anything but if it is, has his robe been passed down from generations before him?
and if so, which side of Clow's family was the robe from?
Tumblr media
Yuna D. Kaito is also a powerful magician.
—In fact, one of (if not the) highest ranks in the Magical Association.
that's actually the D. in his name— it wasn't his middle name and in fact, Yuna D. Kaito probably isn't his real name.
He can do lots of things with his sorcery but he specializes in Time Magic... which is considered a taboo since you'll get a fucked up alternative world when YOU fucked up using that kind of magic...
...and also a shorter life-span but let's not delve much into that so this post won't go to the depressing direction 😁
And in regards of his robe, one can argue that the robe isn't really exclusively HIS, since you can see in the picture I've used that there are other people with him wearing the same clothing (assuming it's his clan's) so i suggest burning their headquarters down to ashes to make it YDK's own robe 😆😆
note: a kind friend in the comments pointed out my mistake of associating Yuna D. Kaito and Lilie Shinomoto's clans as one: their clans differ from each other. Yuna D. Kaito's in particular are a congregation of magicians that aren't blood-related and are officially referred to as "Magic Association".
i have no idea what to call his or Lilie's clans yet, but for now I'll refer to those as their respective clans 😅
Tumblr media
Now onto the main Protagonist of the series: Sakura Kinomoto. In Tomoyo's words, "The only Cardcaptor in the world"
Started as a girl that had little magic that managed to grew stronger and stronger, and then now having one of the abilities Clow had— creating cards (or new magic) on her own.
Though one can argue that she won't be able to do that if Yuna D. Kaito wasn't pulling the strings in the background, keep in mind that Momo said she saw right past Eriol's magic protection [to contain Sakura's magic].
Plus, in the Sakura Arc (where she technically created new cards but under a "template"), Eriol was pulling the strings as well and yet her powers still managed to grow, probably beyond people's expectations.
Her ever-growing power might be hard to control for her, but she's doing her best to utilize it in protecting the ones she cherishes the most.
Now the upcoming argument about Sakura's"ceremonial attire"... well, technically Sakura doesn't have one, and you can't really call that outfit a robe, but most of the details in a ceremonial robe (at least CLAMP's robes) present: the neutral color, the symmetrical design, and the gold lining/design.
I like to consider it her own ceremonial robe— made in a very fitting and unique image of Sakura, that only she will wear.
Speaking of different, there are other powerful magicians that doesn't follow the same "ceremonial outfit" pattern so I thought I'd show them too!
- Here we have the Shinomoto Ceremonial Outfit, worn by the beautiful Akiho Shinomoto in this color page!
Tumblr media
sorry about the picture if it's not clean... i tried so hard to find a textless one (same as yuna d. kaito) but unfortunately I couldn't.
now about the details aside from the pointy hat: the neutral color + gold lining & symmetrical detail scheme is there, but the difference with the 1st three and their robe is that the neutral color used with the Shinomotos' were white, as opposed to the first three who used black.
i know you've seen this already but since I'm talking about Lilie here in specifics I'd like to put this here are well: a kind friend in the comments pointed out my mistake of associating Yuna D. Kaito and Lilie Shinomoto's clans as one; their clans differ from each other, and that Lilie's (though only officially referred to as "most ancient magician clan in Europe") clan is blood-related, as opposed to Yuna D. Kaito's.
again, no idea what I'll call their respective clans separately yet, so I'll probably refer to them as their respective clans for now— though i have a few ideas xd
another difference is that the hat may be a bit pointy, but it's not as pointy as the three, and that the hat has three pointy things instead of just one.... okay, maybe not that pointy, but, still pointy 😅
okay that's too many pointy, let's get back on track 😁
the difference is blatantly obvious about this one, and I really can't cross Lilie Shinomoto out from one of the most powerful magicians CCS has ever introduced snce she had strong premonition powers and she was also considered a very powerful magician that's feared within Yuna D. Kaito's Clan.
I mean it would take lots of powerful magic to be even able to cross time and dreams for that long just to tell Sakura about the truth in their (now fabricated) timeline?
but i wonder why is their robe different than the others?
we'll get back to that later, if i remember it. 😆
speaking of pointy hats™, you know a magician who doesn't have a pointy hat?
He's none other than Li Clan's next leader and Sakura's most important person, Syaoran Li!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
one can never talk about ceremonial outfits without remembering Syaoran's iconic ceremonial outfits! with S because he has two— 1st one (in the pictures) being the original clothing he has, and the 2nd one Tomoyo made for him that was inspired by the one he used to have.
our little wolf is special; from being Sakura's rival in the Clow Card Arc to being Sakura's most important person? He has learned so much and grew stronger along the way.
now about the details: his clothing doesn't really follow the usual attire pattern: the dominant color of his robe is green, the designs are indeed symmetrical, but the linings are both orange and yellow instead of the usual neutral pallette... his hat also doesn't have a pointy thing on it and instead has a hanging detail on the back.
"what about the attire Tomoyo made for him? it has 2 pointy things!"
—yeah.. well you're right, and as much as I gave the effort to add his Clear Card arc ceremonial outfit, I'm realizing now that it's not really an official robe now, is it...
about the clear card ceremonial attire, one can argue the same thing as they thought about Sakura while reading this blabber (if anyone has gotten though this far),
"That isn't even a ceremonial ROBE"
and you're right, it isn't... since it was Tomoyo's work, inspired from the original one. 😅
so think of it the same way as Sakura— made in the fitting and unique image of Syaoran, that only he could wear.
I guess the main couple of the series have that one as a similarity in regards to this random topic I've thought about. 💚
sooooooo what does this mean? why is Syaoran's robe so different than the others?
is he not as powerful as the ones listed?
well. probably.
but he's not entirely powerless— his entire bloodline is directly related to Clow for crying out loud.
and in addition, his mother Yelan Li is also a powerful sorceress.
I mean would the Li Clan even let someone not as powerful as Yelan to be the next in line to lead?
To answer that: Absolutely not, since being able to have magic and to be able to properly control it are probably some basic requirements to be even considered as a candidate.
So they're powerful. As a clan.
—but we are talking about Syaoran as an individual sorcerer right now and I'll say he is powerful.
In the current CCS timeline, his magic wasn't enough to turn all of the Sakura Cards into those little orbs he kept on his compass. He's even having a hard time converting just one.
And if I remember this correctly, he was aided by her mother through casting the magic he needed in the bears when he snatched the Sakura Cards from their master.
We've seen him improve his magic— especially shown in the 1st season of the anime. Hell, he can even make the sword appear from his hands like what his Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle counterpart does on a regular basis.
In comparison, he is more powerful in Clear Card Arc, but it was still not enough at the moment.
That brings us to the question: Why?
I'd say he's not as powerful now probably because everything happened too fast, and that he didn't have much time to make his magic stronger to get at least within Sakura's power level.
He may have been exhausting himself to the bone during the time when he came back to Hong Kong but my boy, the time you had was absolutely too short to have your skills improve drastically.
On the brighter side, Syaoran has lots of potential, and we all know he's a strong fella so it's about just a matter of time until he reach his full power.
~•~•~•~
Now this entire post got me thinking about other things as I was typing it.
Mostly they're questions I had to ask, like "okay, now what?" "Why did I do this?" especially because the original plan i had was to only have Eriol, Yuna D. Kaito & Sakura in this post.
But I thought I'd be unfair to the Lilie & Akiho, and Syaoran since they both have their own as well so I added them here on the spot.
well, remember what I mentioned that "I'll elaborate on it later" when I was giving a brief background on Lilie's robe? yeah, it's time to go back to that one now...
I really didn't think that one through when I started typing, but the more I think of things to type, the more I asked myself,
is the ceremonial clothing an indicator of how powerful you are?
Though the answer is probably "duh ", since the ones who have robes are part of clans AND are also powerful—
note that Clow was from a union of a European Magician AND an Asian Magician so technically he's still part of BOTH clans, if each of his parents were part of them.
—it's probably more of "if you're in an association with lots of other magicians", considering the fact that some of the ceremonial clothings were passed down to the living blood-relative of the family...
Hence why Sakura doesn't have one and the rest has.
Though Eriol with that ceremonial outfit can be a bit questionable since he's a reincarnation n stuff, and so far I don't remember ERIOL (capitalized bc I've been linking him to Clow, but I'm talking abt him as JUST him as his own individual) being part of a clan since he worked independently (as far as I can remember)
but from what I can recall it was mentioned in the anime that the ceremonial clothing resembled Clow's... correct me if I'm wrong, though.
also, with the additional input i got from Cinzia (the friend who also pointed out the difference between Akiho's & Yuna D. Kaito's clans),
I also now wonder if the colors used in their robes reflect their intentions? or, since Lilie & Akiho's clan has been around for ages, how long their bloodline has existed?
because if it's the former, then it really won't make sense for Sakura & Eriol (though Eriol is once again, questionable... since his previous body as Clow isn't particularly... good nor he is also evil— at least from my perspective)
...and the latter makes more sense in general.
another one question i have is the explanation for Meiling's ceremonial clothing— like do they give different styles of ceremonial clothes in the Li Clan based on your gender? your magical abilities? or how closely-related you are to whoever leads the clan?
i mean, i know she's an anime-exclusive character but I still want to know because I'm curious...
lastly, i wonder if Nadeshiko has one... since she is also a powerful person (she really doesn't do much sorcery stuff as far as i can remember), though the extent of her magic is unclear like Lilie, it's clear that she's also powerful because she can still do lots of things even in after life.
~•~•~•~
IF you're one of the few people who finished reading this i just want to say thank you, and i hope everything made sense since i am very bad at explaining my thoughts 😭.
I think that's it, my brain is tired now and i want to go back to sleep again so good day to everyone and until next time, if there will ever be a next time 😆
and, cut! 🎬

What if I also asked some pointy objects hypotheticals once again 👉👈👉👈 I want to like ask me silly little questions without asking anything that may reveal The Lore™ so as for my 3am hypothetical questions (i could only think of 3):
-are meetings mandatory/can anyone call them?🤔
-generally how do the demis fare in school (since they all have different schooling and kokichi allegedly cheats off of kaede 😭)
-[in regards to all the characters/pairings,] on a scale of most toxic to least toxic which pointy objects pairings do you think are at the ends of the scale 😭
(Ngl last question was a self-indulgent way to share my opinions LOL for most toxic I vote junko+mikan BOOOO let my girl mikan go (although idk if she's all that good from that whole betrayal thing and attempted child murder thing but still booooo THEY COULD NEVER MAKE ME HATE U MIKAN) , for most healthy I vote hmmm uhm I actually vote Maki and Kaede!!! I LOVE their communication and lore in this story this fic singlehandedly made me ship them 10× more than shuichi+kaede actually) Okay BYEEE goodnight heart emojis *LOUD SNORE* mememmemeeme
HELLOOOOOO CIDER MY BELOVED <3 as always i adore your questions and comments and you have brought me some FUN ones so here we go off beneath the cut to indulge the terminal pointy objects brainworms
(spoilers? no. but i Do do some dancing around some interesting topics. teehee)
so: godly meetings! we've heard quite a bit about them, but don't actually know that much other than: they happen when important events take place, they're meant to be kept hush-hush from mortals, and even at the best of times they're kind of a veritable shitshow with even Career Politician Kiyotaka losing his patience with how they pan out. a big group of silly characters from this series all in a group yelling at each other following big things happening.....where have i heard that before?
to answer your more specific question: theoretically anyone could call a meeting, and they definitely have in the past, but generally one of the big five gods are at the helm. in which case they are mandatory, but whether or not all of the gods (of which there are a few dozen) show up is......another issue entirely. lmfao. most of the big five rarely ever go Lmfao it's usually hajime/makoto, celeste skipped the last several for uh. Rantarou Reasons. usually only hajime Or nagito go so one of them can stay at camp. most times absences are more of an annoyance than anything but since the spear went missing (and junko started calling meetings) said absences end up with a way worse impact.
but in Normal times like i said usually hajime or nagito stay behind, and unless there's an absolute emergency one of them is always at camp to keep an eye on the kids. which includes schooling for a lot of them! and as for our year-round kids (gonta, miu, kaede, kokichi, maki, ryoma, kiibo, kaito): it's about what you'd expect. gonta does all of his work by hand while everyone else has an online schooling that hajime and chihiro set up, they take it a varyingly amount of seriously no matter what hajime and nagito tell them about university, kokichi says he just cheats off kaede but secretly they both cheat off each other. tbh most of the summer-only kids go to fancy expensive private schools because they've got (generally) the better parents; angie's the only one that doesn't because she lives on her island with sakura most of the year.
and finally: toxic yuri/yaoi rating <3 you're so real actually for this one to give your hot takes (correct) and i will always take the opportunity to go on about my characters no matter how minimal to the story they are. SO for the purposes of this ranking instead of ranking them one-by-one (i tried tbh and it was really hard :sob:) i'm gonna put them in categories, descending in order of bad -> good
messy messy this is the stuff soap operas are made of:
junko/mikan (toxic yuri of a whole different breed THUMBS DOWN)
celeste/[REDACTED] (toxic yuri: classic edition)
gundham/fuyuhiko (relatively new relationship, both incredibly dramatic, they flirt by arguing)
messy but relatively functional:
makoto/byakuya (common problem-causers amongs the gods, definite flair for the dramatic but operate usually as a unit)
hajime/nagito (married longer than practically anyone else, large amount of people rely on them and places a large amount of trust in them as a team, this drives them kind of insane however. also izuru)
touko[+syo]/komaru (very solid in their relationship however have a tendency to be terrors about their children. in syo's case a terror in general)
flourishing. unbothered. except for the obvious:
kiyotaka/mondo (intense in contrasting enough ways that they balance each other pretty well. as long as maki isn't involved)
sonia/chiaki (new relationship, they hype each other up well, still figuring out how to break the step-sibling news to kiibo and himiko)
aoi/sakura (also an ancient relationship. eternal honeymoon phase. the most Straight Chillin pair among the gods due to loophole of hina living In The Ocean while sakura lives on the island with her non-bio child)
the demigods:
tenko/himiko (middle school sweethearts. very puppy love and sweet. have never had eyes for anyone else)
kiibo/gonta (newest relationship out of the whole bunch. less than 1 day together but hardcore mutual pining for AGES. especially protective of each other)
kaede/maki (untoxic yuri for the win. also very very fresh with even LOOONGER pining oh my god. intimate deeply impactful world-altering girl best friends -> girlfriends arc FOREVER!!! still have some stuff to figure out but their bond runs down to their bones)

So Asuki (@sokai-asuki) did something suprising me. They (IDK the pronouns so I use general pronoun) made a Main Story of NEXO KNIGHTS X PROJECT SEKAI from the AU that I made! Though it's just the beginning. Use tag : #nexo knights x project sekai au (My tag) and/or #lego nexo knights x hatsune miku colorful stage (Asuki's tag)
Now I'm going to explain the world system of Knightonia (NEXO KNIGHTS Universe) <--> Sekai <--> Shibuya, Tokyo (PRSK Universe) and took some from Sokai-Asuki's story too. Some are canon but some I made it by myself to corelate to the story.
.
So first, what is PROJECT SEKAI? PROJECT SEKAI or full name is PROJECT SEKAI: COLORFUL STAGE! Feat Hatsune Miku or Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage! (JP: プロジェクトセカイ カラフルステージ! feat.初音ミク, HEPBURN: Purojekuto Sekai Karafuru Sutēji! fīcharingu Hatsune Miku), abbreviated to PJSK or Proseka, subtitled Brand New World from its 3rd anniversary, is a rhytm game developed by Colorful Palette, a studio of CyberAgent's Craft Egg, who also was involved in development before it shifted to Colorful Palette, and published by Sega Corporation. (Source : WIKIPEDIA)
Set in the real world where Virtual Singers only exist as fiction, the characters come across another world called "SEKAI," where various "true feelings" are projected. Here, there are 6 VOCALOIDS (Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin, Kagamine Len, Megurine Luka, KAITO, and MEIKO) along with 20 characters. There are some servers, but commonly used are Japanese Server (of JPSEKAI) and Global Server (ENSEKAI) that released around a year later from JPSEKAI.
.
Back to the topic, I read Sokai-Asuki's story and took conclusion how NEXO KNIGHTS can go to SEKAI (PRSK Universe), but to comprehend the Sekai Concept and the story, better read PRSK Main Story. You don't have to download the game, you can watch it on YT. (But if you want to play the game or an gacha addict, download it)
In gap between 5 SEKAI (or in JP, Sekai No Hazama) someone reside there -> She saw yellow dust from one of the SEKAI. As we know, yellow or golden in NK Universe always symbolized with magic power, so it means some magic make NEXO KNIGHTS able to access SEKAI.
Tumblr media
I don't want to spoil the story, better read it by yourself. But the VOCALOIDS -- or in PRSK Universe they called VIRTUAL SINGERS reside in SEKAI according to one's feelings. The main one is Hatsune Miku. So Miku make a concept named 'UNTITLED' and gave it to respective SEKAI's residents to their phone by a folder. Press them and boom! You can go there!
.
So let's simplify it by corresponding it to PRSK Universe:
SEKAI created from ones' feelings -> VIRTUAL SINGERS reside there -> Hatsune Miku send message to the person by folder 'UNTITLED' -> 'UNTITLED' was sent to person's phone -> The person pressed folder 'UNTITLED' -> Lights make them transported to SEKAI
Tumblr media
Understand? If don't then read PRSK Main Story then. Okay, continue. So, the concept of NEXO KNIGHTS to SEKAI was same, by pressing 'UNTITLED' on their phone. But why? Because of magic of course. That exist in a yellow dust and made some 'bug' that make things from different universe able to connect each other. If you can enter, how to exit? Just press that play button of 'UNTITLED' on the phone to pause it.
Okay, how to go to SEKAI, check. But how NEXO KNIGHTS members able to go to Shibuya, that was actually a PRSK Universe? The SEKAI acts as a location that connects to two universe -- Knighton and Shibuya. Press twice (or in PC, click on right mouse) to enter the alternate universe. (Yeah, I make this idea, like I want two parties to explore different universes and have experiences)
I simplify how to go to three realms:
1. Knighton <--> SEKAI and Shibuya, Tokyo <--> SEKAI
Press 'UNTITLED' folder that available on your phone. Press play button on the folder to exit SEKAI.
2. Knighton <--> Shibuya
Press twice of click on right mouse on 'UNTITLED' folder
Not only NEXO KNIGHTS members that able to go to Shibuya, the 20 characters of PRSK also can go to Knighton! (I want to make all of them extend the interactions like that)
.
The story how NEXO KNIGHTS able to access their SEKAI, I put faith to Asuki. (I believe in you) While which unit and SEKAI each NEXO KNIGHTS members enter are on my account (But you must have effort to scroll that, trust me, you'll see it)
But mainly, I'll handle this AU too, like interactions, facts, or maybe fanmade events?! I also will handle the NEXO KNIGHTS unit design clothes, either from the beginning or 3RD ANNIV -BRAND NEW WORLD- version. I've done Clay's but I will make the rest of the members.
So, yeah that's it and enjoy! I accept questions if you have something to be asked about this AU. (I also confused about the connection but yeah whatever)

Updated yapping about how each episode connects with the characters
Episode 1 - Luca (Brothers, deceit disguised as miracles, thinking of the anomaly in that episode...Luca didn't like...take on his brother's life or some shit did he...?)
E2 - Leo (Livestreamer, taking "easy methods" out of things until you wind up in trouble? Struggle for fame/attention?)
E3 - Ren (Ocean, love, responsibility?, did Ren get in a shipwreck and meet/become/discover he was a mermaid? idk, I feel like things around Ren all allude to monsters/devouring things, so is he a mermaid in the the one that's kept inside Mortkranken sense, or is he actually some kind of monsterous creature...?)
E4 - Taiga (Memory/ Stolen/Lost Memories, indulgence/letting go?, it's an interesting thought to go with the time loop theory of Taiga being "made of the misery of those around him" or something to that effect, WAIT IT WOULD BE WILD IF THAT'S LITERALLY WHAT TAIGA IS LMAO)
E5 - Zenji (Ghosts/ghost children, children given away by poor families? Veangeance? 🤔, did Zenji and Jiro (and third brother?) get abandoned/left behind by their family?)
E6 - Lyca (Anomlies + Humans, something something self-control/natural tendencies/natural habitats?)
E7 - Yuri (Teamwork, consequence of arrogance?, how does the anomaly relate to him...just general hubris? Wait, it probably has something to do with his mother, right?)
E8 - Romeo (Greed, loss?, I'm assuming Romeo's actions may be alluding to his ruin in the past?)
E9 - Kaito (Been thinking on this one and the fact that Kaito said his pact was "forced" on him...was Kaito's family part of a cult? Is the symbol he bears on his necklace from a royal family or that of an old cult leader? He's been associated with the dead, so...was he by chance resurrected? Is he being possessed by someone else?)
E10 - Ed (Dark magic/monsters, blending in with humans to prey on them, his is pretty obvious)
E11 - Alan (Prison, facing past/past crimes, his is also obvious)
E12 - Towa (Animal gods, nature, living in harmony, symbioticism, is Towa some kind of once-forgotten god? Or other higher entity?)
E13 - Jin (Worst family dynamics, self-destructive youngest sibling?, lack of trust/betrayal, wait actually...I just remembered seeing a post where they point out that Jin has gauze wrapped loosely around his neck on the website art. Dullahan are harbingers of death, so......)
E14 - Jiro (Sick, experimentation?, did Jiro try to commit suicide? Is that why his health is the way it is? Did he do so after failing to save the potential third Kirisaki brother? I wonder how this relates to his stigma though, but I feel like we don't have the full story on Jiro's stigma, since it's the only one with a passive effect thus far...)
E15 - Subaru (Horror, child murderer...?, I think this one's just alluding to Subaru though it kind of paints him as a psychopath...)
E16 - Ritsu (Genuinely don't know how this related to Ritsu. I'm assuming it's something about following order/rules and divvying out punishment for breaking them, like a lawyer at a court case. I'm not sure if the gangs also have something to do with Ritsu's backstory...? Obvi the hundun not stopping until all 8 misfortunes were given is reflected in Ritsu's personality, but I don't see how this could relate any deeper as of right now. Maybe this one is a bit more distant since Ritsu's character is more self-explanatory? The general atmosphere of the city could indicate his strict upbringing)
So that would leave: Tohma, Sho, Haru, Haku, and Rui
No telling atm who E17 will be about. Hoping for MC chapter!!
Or...there's 5 ghouls...before a six-ghoul mission...?
Actually wait, if this is an MC chapter, I find it odd that they would add it before the rest of the boys...there is a possibility I'm overlooking the fact that our remaining group shared episodes with other characters. (Zenji + Haku, Jin + Tohma, Towa + Haru, Leo + Sho, Ed? + Rui, or otherwise, they are shared between all members of their houses in subtle ways I suppose.)

I'VE BEEN SAYING
Kaito's mom literally dressed up as her dead husband to "test" him so I kind of assumed that everyone thought of her and Toichi as maybe the worst parents in the series. Which is a pretty high bar! They have crossed it with emotional and physical abuse, and on Chikage's part, neglect. But for comparison:
Even if you think Hattori's dad punching him was a one time thing, and riling him up so he'll throw himself into danger was just the two times on screen - kinda messed up, no? Heizou also puts him down in front of strangers and the other police more than once. Shizuka is shown gently scolding Heizou for those shenanigans, so maybe she's trying within the limits of what she thinks she's allowed to do, or maybe she doesn't think it's that big a deal. The first one makes more sense to me personally, because in my own dealings with Very Traditional families, there does tend to be one person who decides everything for everyone and it can be dangerous or just counterproductive to "rock the boat." Then again, in one of the movies, we find out that she didn't visit him in the hospital after he got shot, so 0_0 Either way, they're not doing great.
According to a psychiatrist I had a riveting conversation with, neglect is like the number 1 way to fuck up your kid. The Kudos left Shinichi alone at a pretty young age. Especially since he doesn't seem to have a real support network - he has Agasa and Ran and maybe Sonoko, although he seems to get along well on a surface level with his classmates - this seems like a grade A bad idea. And now they're so removed from him that they can't have a normal conversation with him to find out how he's doing because they know he'll lie and say he's fine. And instead of finding a way to fix this, they literally go spy mode on him. Also he fakes his death for them and they act like it's just a silly prank? They seem to care and realize they've messed up, but they're not exactly making strides towards fixing it.
Ran's parents are divorced, and Kogoro really needs a therapist and a life coach and generally to just not depend on his daughter for everything. And possibly his wife? I'm not sure who was paying the rent before Conan showed up. Eri said she tried to convince Ran to live with her instead, but Ran wouldn't have it, which is probably because Eri modeled putting up with Kogoro endlessly up to the point that they were separated. I also get the sense that things were settled before Kogoro completely spiraled. It's cool that she wants to respect her daughter's wishes and stuff. Parenting is hard and it seems like she's at least trying her best and thinking of Ran's feelings. Kogoro just seems like he's got too much depression to be the parent he wants to be. Still not great, but at least there's effort?
Sonoko's parents think they should get to control her life, and she doesn't seem to get on with them very well. Not the best, but at least they're not like, actively abusive?
Ginzo would appear to be a single father for reasons unknown to me. He should spend more time with his daughter but he's all wrapped up in work all the time, so Aoko is also neglected. She and Shinichi could probably relate to each other a lot, or at least more than you'd think. He does cook her dinner sometimes and is still more present in her life than the Kudos are in Shinichi's, and he does at least make effort to keep her out of danger.
I'd go on but we only see one of Kazuha's parents and I can't think of anyone else who's mentioned specifically enough? and we don't really see Kazuha's dad interacting with her specifically. We also don't see evidence that he's a completely absent father, so who knows.
idk in conclusion:
Tumblr media
and here's the link to the tiermaker i made if you're interested
I think we all know that Toichi isn't such a great father, right? Sticks his nose where he shouldn't, teaches his son the worst way to deal with his feelings (making him always isolate himself and deal with everything alone) then he dies, indirectly puts his son's life at risk all the time and fuck Kaito.
Kaito has a very noble reason for being the Kaitou Kid and then he finds out that his father was the KID because he wanted to impress a thief LOL
And Kaito's mother is almost never with him, always traveling. In addition, indirectly, she was responsible for making her son have to deal with a crazy woman who keeps using his fear to hurt him.

How do you see korekiyo's relationship with his peers (aside from Shuichi)? Like, I know that he is ignored/disliked by most of his peers but I think he'd get along with Gonta, Rantaro, maybe Ryoma and Kirumi. Be worsties with Kokichi, Miu and maybe Maki, idk about Tenko, Himiko and Angie and I think he wouldn't get along with Kaito, Kaede of course is her own can of worms
as supplied by canon, rantaro and kiyo seem to get along very well! i think it is rantaro who is drawn to kiyo instead of it being the other way around, and i find that extremely funny considering rantaro's possible cool kid status to kiyo's rancid vibes. that being said he Is a bit of an oddball himself, and given the time, i imagine him and kiyo would have became close friends. while gonta and kiyo don't interact much in-game, i think they could become good friends too - their interests line up a good couple of places and gonta is just a kind soul who could easily overlook kiyo's more worrying eccentricities. i think ryoma and kirumi by all means would be civil, though i think it's quite possible that they would remain surface-level friends. both of them have a tendency to keep people at arm's length, and kiyo is not one to push in that regard. if anything, i think they would have a good understanding of the others' boundaries.
i love kokichi/kiyo and miu/kiyo as a concept, because i think they would make for a very funny dynamic. not sure about maki - if they were forced to hang around each other for long enough, i can imagine her letting her guard down a bit, but i can't see her trusting kiyo and the feeling would probably be mutual. i don't think he'd have a problem getting along with kaito per say, but kaito definitely finds him creepy and the awkwardness would be palpable were they in a room alone together.
while kiyo seems to like himiko, i don't think she has much of an opinion on him - other than a general disregard - and i don't think that would change any time soon. kiyo is unwilling to go along with her gimmick, and she is unwilling to hear kiyo out on his, so it's a bit of a lack of common ground. angie, i think, could probably get along great with kiyo ironically... they seem to have each other figured out to a degree none of the other characters do, and while they are both unwilling to buy into what the other is selling, neither of them are hostile about it. i like to see their situation as one of mutual respect but complete lack of trust. it's fun!!
with tenko, i could actually see her get along with kiyo to some degree - she seems to view him as a lesser threat in-canon because of his feminine demeanor and choice of academia. which is... very funny, in retrospect. but i do think kiyo admires her energy and spirit, and in the right circumstances, they could even be friends. maybe.
i forgot kibo in there, but i also think they would be Civil while having very little common ground - kiyo is interested in humanity and not being a human is quite the sore spot for kibo. seems to me he would just end up saying hurtful shit by accident every other week and kibo would end up avoiding him in return.

wait i'm curious now tell me more abt kaito 👀👀👀👀👀
You JUST missed the long-form Kaito essay I wrote king adsfdghjgh but here's the post if you wanna check it out <3 ^^ I went very into detail about Kai’s personality, his motivations, and his relationship with Takuto there, haha <3
THAT SAID... I DO realize I went on for FAR too long, so here's the tl;dr:
Kaito Maruki is the P5R version of my Horizon OC, Artekai. He's Takuto's fifteen year old son, he's a first year at Shujin, and he's a childhood friend of Sumi's. He's also an athlete, he's very into archery, hiking, and general gym stuff (idk don't ask me lmao), but some of his other hobbies include photography and music, specifically playing the drums. Personality-wise, he's very cheerful, energetic, and curious, but he can also come across as pushy, loud, and annoying. He's also very oblivious and trusting to a fault, so a lot of times he can't take the hint when other people are tired of him, which only adds to other people's perception of him as "weird" and "clingy."
I sound like I'm filling out a character sheet lol
Kai is very desperate for attention and companionship, and he has a bit of a fear of abandonment that can be traced back to the Rumi incident. In fact, he only got truly serious about working out after the break-in, because he wanted to be strong to be able to protect those around him... He's also insecure because he feels like he's constantly being overshadowed by his dad (Shujin's reaction to Takuto didn't help), and other people won't stop comparing the two of them (especially since they look so similar... rip), but, most of the time, he manages to hide his frustration behind a smile very well.
His relationship with Takuto is very complicated in general, partly because Kai resents the way that Takuto handled the aftermath of the Rumi incident, and partly because their philosophy in life is fundamentally different, since Kai sees difficulties in life as challenges to be overcome, and he thinks that the constant journey of self-improvement is what gives life meaning. Kai is also jealous, not only because Takuto seems to pay more attention to his research than to him, but because he keeps hearing about how much Takuto has helped everyone at Shujin, so it feels like he cares more about everyone else than about his own son... And he feels like he has been replaced by Akiren.
Kai is very lonely :(
Ultimately, though, he and Takuto still care a lot about each other. Even if Kai finally snaps in the third semester and says some cruel things about Takuto he doesn't mean, he very much wants his dad to be alive and well by the end of the whole ordeal. So that's why he needs to keep Akechi under vigilance, hehe.
Kai also crashes at Akechi's place during the third semester because he can't bear the sight of Takuto at the moment. He feels betrayed, like this is somehow confirmation of all of his worst fears, and he needs time away from home to process it... He and Takuto have quite a lot to work through as father and son </3
But it all turns out fine, I promise! ^^ Kai and Takuto finally have the honest heart-to-heart they’ve been needing for years, the Phantom Thieves successfully steal his heart, and the two of them get a chance to start over as a family! :D

hey venus, i hope you're doing well, and if not, i hope things get better for you soon. i'm here for you if you need anything, and remember to hydrate and eat something if you haven't already!
hmmm, an unpopular opinion?? ....i feel like. okay. i like kaimaki and kiiruma as ships in theory. the dynamics are cute and i think the characters could balance each other nicely! the way they're written in game though irritates me. i feel like kiiruma could've gotten sweeter moments together that kinda show that they care a lot sooner than...throwing the maintenance scene at us in chapter 3. ( which already makes me Squint ) and miu could've used more down to earth moments, as much as i like her. ( and i know part of it is. kodaka specifically trying to make her "everything someone would hate in a woman" which i don't like at all ) and i know kiibo brings up miu after she dies, but also it felt like none of the cast tried to comfort him and it annoys me. and then kaimaki feels like. "Oh I Harassed Her Into Liking Me" you know, the really not great trope you see in romance movies?? like i'm not opposed to maki opening up, i just wish she did it more out of her own volition rather than kaito having to pull a lot of it out of her. it also feels like maki didn't really get to be her own character after kaito inserted himself. idk, i might be stupid sndjdjdgs
god. i could go on about the missed potential with miu, kiibo, and maki. kaito is on thin ice though /hj
take care of yourself, vee. and have a lovely day, my dear <3

no surprise that rei would come in with the big brain takes!! i feel the same, though i definitely enjoy kiiruma and lot more than kaimaki. replaying the game they actually have a few subtle moments before The Scene, like when miu is rambling abt the computers used in chapter four and shuichi notices that kiibo is literally jealous. of a computer. i also noticed than during miu's trial kiibo was very focused and had zero comic relief moments, only trying to get to the truth of the case as quickly as possible, evidenced when he was one of the only people who stuck up for shuichi wanting to suspect gonta.
that said, yeah, they definitely weren't super fleshed out in canon. personally the concept of them / their fanon versions are what carries this ship for me. they're kinda very sweet to me, idkidk i know they're not objectively well-written but smth about them makes me squeal.
as for kaimaki. okay. i have a lot of thoughts on them but idk how to put them into words. like i've voiced my opinion to you abt kaito before and i think he's good for someone like maki in general, like, learning to open up and trust in others in definitely a valuable lesson for her specifically to learn. but yeah it does feel very, uh... tsundere-ish at times which is not smth i enjoy. i would've liked to see maki's development tied to maybe shuichi and himiko rather than solely kaito, her explicit love interest, idk. im not HUGE on maki or kaito as characters really, i try to scale them back a lil in my fic lol.
as for missed potential, dont get me started. i could seriously go for hours. miu is maybe the worst contender in v3. what little depth she gets is literlly AFTER she dies, when kokichi i think tells us abt her trust issues - or maybe it's even kaito lamenting what kokichi told him, so it's basically all through the grapevine. that could've been super interesting if they'd only. like. tried to explore it a little bit. i would've loved to see more of her relationship with kokichi, because it sounded like they spent a lot of time together behind the scenes. idk. love miu i just wish they did more with her in general.
how are you doing rei?? im sorry this has been fermenting for a few days. ive been spending a lot of time w my family :D

Jdbdusidn I DIDN'T DIRECTLY RESPOND TO THAT PART DID I that's my bad!
The English makes them sound familiar with each other--although I don't know if the Japanese is the same. And the fact that he worried over him and waited with him and helped him to buy the capybus. . .a big part of me says 'this guy is the previous jabberwock captain'. But the fourth years are supposed to be doing field work so it'd be strange if he were doing janitorial work, right? So I fall back to 'another previous ghoul student' or 'one of the recovered Dionysia ghouls.' maybe Haru transferred from one of the defunct houses too? Maybe not when they were closed but beforehand. But the fact that even the Janitor acknowledges that Haru's perspective of that the Academy is a good place is unique pretty much straight up tells me this guy is a ghoul. Because the ghouls are the ones that feel trapped. The general students wouldn't know or understand that feeling, and the faculty don't treat Darkwick that way(or if they do they don't think of it that way openly.) So he's definitely a ghoul of some sort and some origin.
Yeah, Cornelius specifically says that the evidence is ~irrefutable~ that ghouls are more aggressive(disregard Kaito. . .and Luca. . .and Sho. . .and Ritsu. . .and Ren. . .and Haru. . .and Haku. . .and Subaru. . .and Zenji. . .and Rui. . .and Jiro. . .and probably Ed and Lyca. . . . . . .) so I'm sure that the Institute wouldn't trust them with too much power(but somehow the GIANT SEA SLUG WITH TENTACLES is fine??? No suspicion from the institute for the intelligent anomaly???) so I think something like running the shop and working as a janitor would be befitting for if they knowingly kept ghouls on staff. Not much power or influence, keep them where they can see them and where even general students and ghouls may have less respect for them and pay them little mind. On the other hand, that gives them space to sneak around. . .if any other ghouls recognize them or something they could cause problems. They could rebel.
Also. . .considering the janitor is, well, a janitor, I'm reminded of the WickHive post made by "engineer"
Tumblr media
And the fact that the pc notes that whoever made the passage into the auction room must have been an incredible craftsman
Tumblr media
And like. An engineer would be a craftsman who made such a thing right? And custodial work is the kind of thing you'd have an engineer that you didn't want having too much power do right? Maybe the janitor guy is also the one who put together the Sinostra auction room passage???
Idk. It'd be nice if we saw the janitor or Benkei(the campus store clerk) again because the pc decided to investigate the other houses. . .on the other hand I feel like we have to get through the existing ones before we get to the old ones? Maybe we'll get more hints or something. . . .
I also thought of the janitor too and have the theory of the scene of him eating apples and how he refers to the mc and apples as sweet + the parallelism of apples with the Adam and eve and everyone knows how it goes form there.
Second theory is more crack than anything but it's darkwick as an institution, like c'mon y'all's logo is a Big D inside a shield with what almost looks like horns, at one point it's almost too on the nose
Tumblr media
@yuri-is-online
you are both making it sound like the janitor has appeared or been mentioned more than once and i'm losing my mind DID I MISS OR FORGET SOMETHING IS THIS MY TAIGA BRAIN AGAIN I DON'T REMEMBER HARU MENTIONING THE JANITOR OR HIM EATING APPLES. . . .
but yeah i don't trust darkwick so much anymore(or at least not cornelius and the japan branch of the institute and jin's father--not that i trusted jin's father at all) but LMAO THE LOGO IS A D WITH HORNS. I mean I'm pretty sure they're cat ears and the diamond inside the D is a cat eye but THEY LOOK LIKE HORNS LBR.
Tumblr media
tbf though. these are Obscuary and Sinostra's and they look pretty sinister too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like DW is definitely bad guys, if only because they've got shitty judgement and they're restrictive towards the ghouls and treat them with such suspicion that the ghouls feel trapped at darkwick and like they won't even be able to escape the institute when they graduate and it's going to be a 'you're committing human rights violations' thing BUT. i think that's going to be a more minor and yet overarching issue compared to the spy plot and the prophecy plot and all.
then again. Cornelius insists that ghouls are naturally more aggressive than humans(this is rarely true) so it's entirely possible the spy intends to make the ghouls fight to like. test them and their strength and such. some sort of experiment to learn more about how the ghouls work/think/socialize/etc. It'd be easier for them to observe the ghouls on campus than off, so if they become troublesome and miserable, that's prime study opportunity!!! Which again ties back into 'the spy probably works for darkwick/the institute'. . . .
