people claiming that samantha myers was added to woobify nathan when he can a.) literally break her ribs, b.) more often than not, lose her as a potential friend / girlfriend and c.) will always lose her anyway makes the take seem so bizarre. i actually think samantha proves that nathan always had intensive, violent issues before jefferson came along and sharpened those skills. i think she proves without a doubt that nathan’s actions aren’t entirely to blame on jefferson, but rather his untreated mental illness + the toxic environment he has always been stuck in. like. i do not see how she woobifies him?

#to be deleted #samantha i think says a LOT of things about nathan and thats why i love inclusion tbh #she shows that nathan does really crave acceptance and love. but she also shows that nathan’s mental health isn’t SIMPLE #it is not something kind words can fix or change. despite nathan never hating samantha he can injure her so severely it’s almost scary #i don’t think he MEANT to ( i think she touched him while he was spiraling and he lost it ) but like. he’s still capable of it.#and we also know that despite their happy ending that nathan loses her somehow anyway and gets worse in later years regardless #like. her presence did not fix him. it didn’t save him either.#idk i think people judge samantha so harshly simply because she roots for nathan and likes him or smth #but like. you are very much ignoring everything actually SURROUNDING that if that’s all you can see / care about #nathan does so much harm to samantha without meaning or wanting to because he cannot control himself and that’s !! important !!#anyway.#take my nathan ramble of the week <3
