see if anything i would not have killed joel in the first place like yeah its cause im a fan of kyle but also because with a horror franchise i feel like we arent creating any like legacy characters anymore (could be a personal bias but) so you could still have brought him back for the second but just have him live he got shot hes scared he beat it and drives off leaving the movie instead of getting devil rejected

That way you can bring him back in the third hell kill him in that one but show him growing as a character he beat this demon (that was suppose to be a stand in for mental illness) and he could hide away let the world fall into chaos now that thousands have been exposed to this demon but he owes it to rose and himself to show others they can win they arent alone they can overcome whatever darkness and terror this demon is showing them. Which course makes the demon more aggressive killing faster determined to win to prove you cant beat the cycle.

Ya know he survived his trama his pain his lost you can too and if he has to burden it all to save thousands he will hes no hero hes just a detective who lost the love of his life and doesnt want anyone else to suffer the same. And even if he dies and the demon gets to carry on its not hopeless theres others now who lived who can try and help others be the light in the dark
