me and my cringe interests that no one cares about are back at it againâźď¸âźď¸ so sorry irl mutuals,,,,
heres my nomi design! and a bunch of silly little headcanons for them and randy
nomi is non-binary/ genderless. they have absolutely no understanding over the concept of gender whatsoever since its something that us humas made up so their pronouns would be he/she/them and anything in between lol
(im gonna use they/them for now but as i said, they really wouldn't care at all)
randy is a visual learner. hes also your average teenager and he gets very easily distracted so to help him learn easier and not make his lessons seem boring, nomi added all those doodles to them you always see throughout the book
randy is japanese! his parents are immigrants and since hes been living in america his whole life he never really got in touch with his culture. along with all the combat and ninja lessons, nomi also taught him a lot about japans culture and a bit of the language too
nomi geniunely tries their best to not speak in riddles or use old outdated words around randy but after all, theyre the personification of whole ass centuries of ancient knowledge so you cant expect much from that ddhsjjd they also tried to pick up some of randys vocabulary and mannerism (idk but the idea of them very awkwardly using slang or doing fingerguns having no idea what they even mean is so funny to me ,,,yknow,, like a grandpa)
randy always goes inside the nomicon to see nomi whenever he wants to vent since theyre basically the only entity that could possibly understand how much pressure is on him and nomi always sits him down to a cup of matcha tea and listens to him (my god, i HAVE to draw that)
if you didnt pick it up already they have kind of a brotherly relationship in my head and they both REALLY admire and care about eachother despite their constant bickering and "bullying"
they geniunely dread the day theyll have to separate but nomi already got used to losing pupils after getting attached to them.
and another angsty doodle lol

Ok so shadow entityâs (idk if thatâs already been done so they also could be protector entityâs)
So these guyâs, gals and non binary pals (eheheheheh-) Where made to protect other entityâs, they come in all shapes and sizes, even sometimes taking the form of animals, their job is to make sure entitys who may not be as strong but are still are important are safe. Say a object head kid gets their own room and they run a small little playground and just want to have friends, theyâll most likely get a shadow person or even known as the misty people as their bodyâs are normally completely black and seem like smoke, theyâd mostly stick around the person or watch from afar to make sure their new friend is ok and unharmed, but now theyâre hard to actually even find, most have completely disappeared without a trance once the person is able to look after themself of leave the entityâs life to search for others who need help, when they donât have a person to protect theyâre actually much weaker and where most likely killed off many years ago but sometimes you can see them still wondering around with a entity
What they mainly look like
Besides them being all black and appearing to look like a person made of smoke, they sometimes will grow eyes, nose, mouth and sometimes ears but very rarely in the right places, as they most of the time look like a child tried to draw a person and their eye is either on their forehead and the other is on their cheek, theyâve even been known to put stuff such as buckets, traffic cones, boxes and even just a mask just to hide their face incase they scare others. Theyâre normally incredibly tall roughly 6â6 to 9â10 with claws and fox like feet which have been known to make them somewhat faster, but on the rare occasions they end up rather short, theyâve even been made as the hight of a child and been known to age over time but tend to get stuck about 5â0 to 5â6. In terms of speech, they do take time to learn how to talk most of the time but sometimes can talk like theyâre some type of English teacher
But the cool thing about these entityâs is they can actually glow rather bright pastel colours when happy, flustered or excited. But it also can happen if theyâre just in the pitch black
oooooo :0 cool!!!

just read some discours on the woods in twin peaks and the thesis was basically that the woods represent the evil undercurrent that civilization hides and is also a source of revelation, though at a cost. i think the latter subsumes the former, though
like, yeah, all the spooky places are in the woods, the owls are not what they seem, etc etc. but itâs not just the black lodge thatâs there--the white lodge is, too. i think the point of the forest, insofar as it represents wilderness, is to provide a space where all lines segregating good from evil are erased. nature is immoral--not good, not bad, not cognizant of such a dichotomy. the woods are harsh, mysterious, dark and deep, frightening--but coop is awestruck by them. he loves the woods! he goes there with briggs to find peace after the palmer case!Â
and even the owls are arguably not evil itself, but omens. they foretell evil, and though theyâre strongly associated with bob--idk how canon it is that bob travels the earth as an owl when not in a human host--their gathering at the roadhouse is what tips the log lady off, tipping cooper off, leading to him meeting with the giant, an angelic figure who aids coop in solving the mystery. an owl precedes briggs being taken to the white lodge, which is established as a Good place--even though the white and black lodges are arguably artificial binaries imposed by hawk and coop on a continuous phenomenon.
the owls donât bring messages because theyâre on coopâs side; they are neutral signs, like vultures circling a carcass. theyâre scary because theyâre mysterious and they foretell Bad Times A-Cominâ, but they arenât evil, and neither are the woods. the woods are a neutral entity morally. they do host bob, but they also host the log. even as grasping, lightning-like black branches frame the palmer house in the first season, so is lush green foliage abounding in the white lodge shot when briggs returns.Â
âthe woods are lovely, dark and deepâ comes to mind. coop adores the forest and seeks aid from nature with his unconventional, spiritual methods of deduction and embracing intuition, but the conclusions he draws from these are horrifying and grisly and bone-chilling. more than anything else, the woods are society with civilization peeled away, burning naked truths that you canât look at directly or youâll go blind, so you wrap them in symbol and metaphor even as you seek them out
iâm figuring this out conceptually as i write so this isnât a great insight or anything but i have issues with the idea of woods as representative of evil just because of whatâs inside them, itâs reductive and does both them and us a huge disservice
