(though, you’d think harry would offer to buy him a nicer wheelchair what with paying for him to live in a condo)

ASM603: Not much later so seems to be still the same early collapsible chair. Seems reasonable enough. I doubt the army wants to shell out to cover for anything nice and I can’t imagine flash has great health insurance. us military is notoriously bad about working with its vets and the regular healthcare system is trash so lol

Venom: Space Knight probably the worst offender in that i’m 99% sure ariel olivetti was not even using references--the prosthetic legs olivetti gave flash were just.... bad. no positives. they're ugly and unrealistic but not in a cool way, just in a “how the fuck do those attach” way. they suck. they look like shit even for being made of scrap. the makeshift cane seems a little more believable to my untrained eye though.

they seem... potentially decent in the 2016 venom series where they make like one appearance as a silhouette? idk. i don’t care to reread his few appearances in that to check. cannot speak to venom inc. cause i don’t think they showed them afaik since he was wearing jeans, and i DEFINITELY won’t be rereading that.

Heyyyy everybody. Idk this probably sounds like a weird thing to try to boost but like! If anyone has a Switch and they wanna try to get a tiny bit more active in their lives, I’d suggest getting that Fitness Boxing game! There’s a free trial in the store I think? It gives you a pretty good feel of what the game will hold for u!

But uh like. I find myself putting off going to the gym or really doing a lot lately. Combo of procrastination and just Depression lmao but!! I find myself a little more inclined to give my lil workout game a chance now and then merely because it’s Right There and tbh it’s kinda fun? It’s been making my heart pound and I’ve even been getting a lil bit of a sweat going with some of these workouts, I’m definitely already feeling a difference in my arms!

There’s admittedly not a lot game-y about the game- you do more workouts and you may be able to get more cool outfits for your coach and maybe some more fun songs to work out to, but it’s all based on fitness!

You can choose who you wanna work out with from these guys, and you’re even able to kinda customize them a bit more- changing hair and eye color, even skin color. Of course you can also give em new outfits as you go along to make em look neater! (I’ve actually chosen mr beefy on the far left lmao but tbh he’s got a more energetic voice than the girl you start with and it makes me feel a lil nicer when he says good job <:3c)

The gameplay is similar to that of a rhythm game. You’re told to take a stance and bop a little to the rhythm of the music. (Tbf I don’t have many places to be able to stand and play this, I just sorta do upper body while sitting down and it works just as well!)

Little icons scroll up the dotted lines on either side and you try to punch in time to get it in the circle. Like rhythm games, you can get a perfect, ok, or miss it completely and at the end it’ll tell you how many you got of each. While this all is happening, ur coach is in the middle mirroring what stance you should be in and what moves you should be doing in case you need to remember what the difference is between a jab and a hook. They’re also there to encourage you to keep on and will alert you to how many combos you may have left in your workout!

The main menu looks like this- you can track how many days you’ve done your workout and there’s a way to check how many calories you’ve burned and the like. You can also do free training on top of your daily if you wanna keep it going! The ‘my data’ at the bottom there is actually things such as your name, birthday, weight and height to kinda track your BMI if you wanted... But to be fair, they never really push you about it more than an alert now and then to keep updating if you want to keep track. As someone kinda iffy about weight-related things, it’s nice that it’s not very intrusive.

Also also you can tell your little trainer what you want to focus on for the most part! I personally got rid of stretching and told them to focus more upper-body since I’m stuck sitting and so far it’s been heavily into arm movement.

A lot of the things you can tell the trainer is if you’re trying to burn more calories, if you’re hoping to build muscle, or if you’re just kinda maintaining what you’ve got along with what parts of the body you want to focus on! It’s not a one-size-fits-all workout game, which I really appreciate!

I’ll also say about the music real quick- a lot of it’s fun to kinda mess around with while punching but tbh it’s not much more than background noise. When I first played it, I didn’t even recognize the song they were playing before I realized it’s mostly the music parts more than singing and such. So uh. Don’t get too extremely excited about the playlist, though I admit I’ve had fun bopping along to LMFAO and TImber with Ke$ha. You can favorite the songs you get and they’ll play those more often for you!

One last thing that I’ll say that keeps bringing me back to it- it’s all rather positive! I admit I’ve not done an awful job yet to warrant any sort of digital disappointment, but I’ve had a few rough runs... But even then, my trainer would simply say “You can do better!” with a rather cheerful tone of voice. It’s not blaming, it’s not shaming or anything- hey! You can do better, so let’s work on doing better! I know they’re just digital guys, but it’s nice to have that sort of positivity somewhere in your day, especially in something you’re still baby-stepping into! They’re incredibly kind and forgiving, pushing gently when you do bad and congratulating you when you do a good job! I have missed a day or two and they’ve not said anything yet, so there’s none of that “where have you been?” schtick! (Or at least not after just a day or two. Let’s see after I miss a week lol.)

I just really appreciate this game as someone who doesn’t have the time, room, mentality, energy, or drive to get myself to go to a gym or work out. It gets me moving more than I would otherwise! I’d also say this might be fun for anyone who’s already working out- perhaps as a warm-up before you head in?

spyro remake onions

good things:

gorgeous, just really pretty to look at

spyro’s little run

the redesigns of the other dragons are very neat that was a good choice, and there flying-away animation they do when saved is neat

just the more dynamic character designs in general, they don’t feel like they’re trying to erase the old ones, it feels like this is what the old devs would have done if they had the tech

and animations, like when that train orc saw he was about to get flamed and freaked out that was really cute

other tiny things like the supercharge effect that look Different But Still Good the old games aren’t going anywhere so they can play around a bit with the little details all they want imo

less good things:

it kinda seemed in the play footage like the better graphics is actually making the flame hitbox harder to get a grasp on

is that noise gonna happen every time you glide that just seems like it’d get annoying idk maybe when you’re actually playing it provides nicer feedback

the text and UI so far looks so ugly i genuinely recoiled from these huge rounded text bubbles that clash with everything like i’m sorry is this spyro: the mobile game? i rly hope that’s a placeholder i mean i guess if that’s my biggest gripe there’s worst things but god it’s hideous, what’s wrong with a vague fantasy theme i ask you

i like the design of spyro himself but in the ps1 games he looked a little more like a squashed gremlin in the head area and i miss that a bit

we’ve not seen much of the other two games yet and they have a fair few more moving parts compared to the first one so not knowing how things like missions and mini-games and npcs are gonna go is a bit nerve-wracking, especially spyro 3 where they’re gonna have to make five whole other playable characters feel good to play (something which the original kinda struggled with tbh)

So, here is a mini review of the new mkm update by me, a admitedly bad player

I was kinda meh about it because you know, I am not gonna spend real money with this so there is no point in getting excited about new characters if I won’t get them

But then twitter told me about Klassic Jade, and apparently she is a gold and differently from Klassic Noob, she can be obtained without spending real money, so now I am excited!

Some small design changes are on point. I was never able to see if a rank filter option was on or off because the colors were so similar, and the icon for diamond was too similar to the one for silver (ofc it was easy to know which was which by its position but it was not nice to look at)

But they’re now using check boxes for picking the sorting order and it is BAD. No, really, this is actually the only point that I know what I am talking about, you don’t use check boxes for stuff that won’t allow you to select multiple options, that’s BAD.

The new option to fast open packs... meh, not something I needed, and for now I don’t like it, but I know long time players wanted this and idk, maybe I will get used to it

I didn’t use the x ray/fatal blow animation skip thing yet and it will probably take forever for me to have the chance. Like, I have no idea how anyone manages to fill all three special bars in a fight, I can’t barely get two, so I use my x rays/fatal blows so little that I have no reason to skip. But once afain, I know long time players wanted this too and it’s nice to see features that players want be added

It seems like now the characters that die in Survivor Mode stop getting XP, which just makes me hate Survivor Mode even more. Why do they force me to play this to have the chance to have 1% chance of maybe getting MK11 Noob?? (this wasn’t a typo, I use “to have the chance to have the chance to...” multiple times for dramatic effect)

There’s something about the anniversary in the update notes but nothing about anniversary packs so I guess those will be only known as a legend by me

I should be kinda excited about a new tower since I did well in the last one, but the time thing makes me anxious and it ruins part of the fun. I wish there was at least a countdown of sorts for when your “lives” in the tower recharge and stuff *sighs*

Overall, the conclusion is that I don’t know why I still play this game, or any freemium game, or any mobile game not much changed for my level of playing, but KLASSIC JADE IS ONE OF THE COOLEST CARDS I SAW BEING RELEASED SINCE I STARTED PLAYING LAST OCTOBER AND I HAVE THE CHANCE TO GET IT, FINALLY (the other only card I saw being released that I had actual chances of getting and actually got, and more than once, was Klassic Smoke!) and the game mostly looks nicer, and Survivor Mode keeps being the worst

here’s my condensed word vomit about phoebe elinor banner:

sooooOooOoOo phoebe hails from the grimiest, most desolate patch of lorfield. she grew up with her mother and her older half-sister, and the little household has never surfaced the poverty line. in my mind they’re pretty infamous; not for anything particularly scathing, but they’ve always been stationed in lorfield, so i imagine everyone pretty much knows who they are and knows that they don’t have much. 

phoebe is very different from her mother and sister. the two are both fearlessly themselves, a bit too stubbornly proud, infamously flirtatious and deliberately peacockish. evelyn banner (phoebe’s mother) is known for two things: her hyper attachment to romantic relationships and her notoriously poor taste in suitors. norah (phoebe’s older half-sister) grew into the same pattern. the two both idolize and function off of the ideas that *~love rules all~* and that their lives will be automatically fixed upon the discovery of their *~soulmates~*. because phoebe grew up meeting their horrible beaus and cleaning up their tears, the one thing phoebe banner has never wanted nor needed is *~love~*.

at an early age phoebe became her family’s keeper. when evelyn and norah fell apart, phoebe kept the household in order. phoebe packed her own school lunches. phoebe got her mother up and dressed and ready for job interviews. phoebe cooked breakfast and dinner every day. phoebe did the laundry, phoebe learned how to fix broken appliances or called upon friends && neighbors when she couldn’t fix them herself and phoebe made sure the bills were paid. she got a job as soon as she could and she worked hard to chip in, all while maintaining an impressive GPA. she is entirely autonomous, and has been for as long as she can recall.

phoebe fell into these habits as a little girl because she wanted to ease her mother’s pain; she hated seeing her family so down and she wanted to make evelyn and norah happy. that meant swallowing her own pain, pushing back the anger and hurt she unconsciously felt towards her mother, and maintaining the sunniest of dispositions at all times. phoebe needs to make everyone around her happy, often at the expense of her own suffering. this isn’t an unconscious act, but rather one that she views as a necessary evil of life. she finds no use in expressing her own pain and discomfort; what would it solve if she did? she tells herself let her frustrations go; there’s no use in being selfish. 

she’s easygoing and amicable and pleasantly kind, but phoebe guards herself like none other. she’s so used to bottling up that the thought of emitting any sort of emotion floods her with feelings of both guilt and embarrassment. phoebe sees it very simply: being emotional is being vulnerable. being vulnerable is being weak. and when she thinks of emotional vulnerable weakness, the image of her mother’s crumpled figure lying in bed for days on end sounds alarms through her head. phoebe can’t be like her. if she let herself hurt, she might let herself shut down.

buildings have always been phoebe’s driving passion in life. when she was teeny tiny she’d doodle castles and courtyards everywhere she could, and her hobby blossomed. having no exposure to places nicer than her neighborhood’s K-Mart, she was always fascinated by sweeping skyscrapers and groomed estates and fortresses dating back hundreds of years. she’s always escaped to her rooftop, sketchbook in hand, to behold the sleepy lorfield skyline and let her imagination run wild on the paper. 

she’s going to be an architect, make no mistake. phoebe banner, the girl who always pushed her desires aside and kept her emotions in check, fought like hell to get to architecture school. when her mother refused to help, phoebe poured over applications, filled out her own FAFSA, and broke her piggy banks to pay the fees. she was accepted to the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, and they granted her a gap year to gather her bearings before embarking upon her freshman year. phoebe stayed in lorfield and worked three jobs, sparing every last tip and paycheck to afford her first year’s tuition and fees. and when her time finally came, she ran without looking back.

and she still fights like hell. she studies extensively and pours herself into her work to keep her scholarships. she became an RA for the free board. she’s rarely back in lorfield, but when she is, she’s slaving away at any job she can–earning anything she can to lessen the burden of her loans. 

it was her one selfish act, leaving lorfield. she hates being home, so she never comes back around. she spent the last summer doing an independent study with a professor in South Bend, Indiana. she visits lorfield for no more than a week and a half during winter break. she feels detached from it; from her family, from her life below the poverty line, from everything.

basically yes this is my lil angel muffin piece of shit please love her or hate her and let’s make interesting plots ugh i already love you guys SO freakin much

do you guys think people would complain so much about na if jp wasnt around, or at least the same? Idk, maybe coming from games like sif where nothings ever guaranteed (600 gems and no ur lmao) i just really never see khux as that bad? Like I completely agree that JP is better but I've played enough mobile games that the na version doesnt really rank high on bad like idk structure or w.e, or maybe because im a f2p whos never really struggled im biased lol

I totally agree with you that if Square treated JP KHUX as they did treat NA KHUX, or if JP KHUX didn’t even exist at all, people wouldn’t complain as much. 

For example, when Square made it harder to obtain the commemorative premiums in JP KHUX, having just one of the require medals guilted to having any two or three combination of the premiums guilted, I’m pretty sure many JP KHUX players were upset, because I was, especially because Square doesn’t tell you that certain premiums will get you a commemorative medal until they release the last one of the duo or trio. This also happened in NA KHUX as well, when they made Ventus&Aqua&Terra [S] obtainable if you could get any of the BBS trio, to having any one of the KH1 Destiny Island trio guilted to obtain a copy of the commemorative medal. NA KHUX players also complained there as well, but the difference in jewels you have to sacrifice between JP KHUX and NA KHUX to obtain the commemorative medal is way too steep.

However, what makes NA KHUX players complain a lot is that we know Square Enix can treat us nicer (more f2p friendly), yet they refuse to do so over and over again. I can think up of many examples of this, but I am only going to name a few to keep this post not too long. 

 The first one: the WOFF medals. Yes, most of them have been nerfed, and I can understand why, as JP KA 4 [M] has not been released yet, but the deal they were offered in is not as good as JP KHUX. JP KHUX had the WOFF medals offered so that you were guaranteed to get a WOFF medal in 5 medal draw, and they were guaranteed to come with 1 to 3 dots. Yet, NA KHUX had the deal as guaranteed to get one of the WOFF medals and MAYBE it will come with 3 dots. 

Second, SE also has been giving challenges on the same level as JP KHUX to NA KHUX, when the average f2p player cannot handle that difficulty because of the terrible deals SE has given NA KHUX. Look at the Xenmas Event; they only tweaked the enemies slightly but everything was the same as JP KHUX. If SE is going to treat NA KHUX and JP KHUX different, they need to change up the difficulty of the enemies and not just copy and paste the event over with only a few tweaks.

And last but not least, don’t get me started on the new deal for 3 dotted premium but no guarantee after a set amount of draws. I’ll probably save that as a rant for another ask, but it also sucks that Square doesn’t give us the drop rates for the premiums as well. If I remember correctly, in SIF they give the drop rates for the idol cards, and they also do that too for FE:H. But no one complains about the no guarantee thing they have going on in these two games because they treat both the JP and ENG version the same, gameplay wise, at least for FE:H for sure (I don’t think FE:H english version doesn’t have an official twitter while the JP does). Also, I’m pretty sure that a part of being able to rank well in SIF is based on skill, and literal skill, which is how good are you at rhythm games, which requires practice. Even if you have all the UR cards max idolized and everything, the equivalent of obtaining and max guilting premiums I assume, you can’t rank well if you can’t even pull a full combo. KHUX, however, does not requires skills to play. If you made a new account and throw enough jewels and a 0 AP campaign at it, that new account can catch up to a veteran f2p KHUX player in a week easily, especially if they know what they’re doing. This is because what makes a KHUX player strong is not based on skill, as it doesn’t require much practice to swipe or tap, but on the medals you have, which is why being able to obtain premiums and guilting them is so important. Take the Coliseum for example. Before any of the GAU+2 or GAU+3 for the turn medals were released, what separated out the strong and the weak KHUX players were those with KH 1 Kairi [P], as she gives GAU+2 for itself and next medal. There was a glitch in the game where if you use a GAU+1 for the turn after KH1 Kairi [P], it becomes GAU+3 for the entire turn. Players with KH1 Kairi [P] got further into Coliseum and defeated much higher level enemies than players who didn’t have KH1 Kairi [P].

And to add more salt to the wound, did you see the HSE bonus point medals?! ONLY THE NEW MEDALS FROM THIS DRAW GIVES YOU POINT BOOST. HD Ursula [M] gives 21% while KA3 [S] gives 14%, and they SKIPPED the Sora Illu. B [S] and Riku Illu. B [P] as potential HSE bonus point medal!! WHAT. THE. HELL SQUARE!! Like at this point, Square is desperate to make people want to get HD Ursula [M] because we all know she sucks since she is single target. 

TL;DR: Players complain about NA KHUX because Square can be nicer and more F2P friendly as proven with JP KHUX, yet they continue to have us sacrifice our wallets in order to keep up with the game.
