mmmmm a month ago??? @flora-flauna tagged me in a nine most influential albums thingy. i have not really listened to music in album form since high school, when i had a car with a cd player and would listen to albums straight through. also, i’m a picky bitch and i very rarely like most of the songs on a given album. anyway these are in no specific order.
the black keys’ brothers blew my fucking mind bc the cd i stole from the library had some sort of heat-reactive material on it so when u took it out of ur player all fresh & crispy warm the formerly matte black cd was b&w!!! also, i like the poster and have it framed bc i’m just. like that.
the dandy warhols sound a little folksier that the black keys, but same stylistic guitar riffs. i think this was a one-off weird cd i found in a thrift store and the name made me chortle? do love em tho. idk if they’re still together i think the answer is no
tron legacy got me into a) daft punk and b) a very regrettable but blessedly short electronica phase.
this is the worst picture of johnny cash in existence. my dad really liked him, this is my favorite album of his. it makes me think of puttering around outside in the summer. i don’t generally have strong feelings about live albums, but i really like this one.
GOD MARINA TAKE MY ENTIRE ANGRY FEMME HEART
pomplamoose was one of those piano or uke + unsophisticated/straightforward vocals teams that got real popular during the recession on youtube during the recession and turned into music-for-commercials by adding cheerful glockenspiel. bust your kneecaps is a delightful swingy 50s song about mobs
danger days is my fave mcr album bc it reminds me of fallout: new vegas and mad max
pretty.odd literally saved my life.
beat connection is my old roommate’s cousin’s band, and i think it was the first time i got to like Know the ppl behind the music. chill dudes. chill beats. they’re from seattle and they sound like it in the best way
do the thing if the spirit moves u? i do not have any brainpower left for today
