Back from the club time for controversial (???) stormlight 5 takes. I do not see how Kaladin could die or take up honor, and if he did I would have issues with sandersons writing. Dying is obvious, he’s been suicidal for 4 books ending that in death is both irresponsible and deeply unsatisfying. Shard stuff would not be an honor (pun not intended). Apart from becoming a herald (which no for the same reasons) I can’t think of a worse fate for him. Outliving his loved ones is a main part of his depression and suicidality. If sanderson makes him immortal and having to watch oroden grow old and die thats just so mean.

Dalinar makes more sense for a shard because he has the ego to put the fate of the world on his shoulders but I don’t like that either. Not because of him representing honor or not, the shards are flawed I don’t care about that. But because again he would just be an ass abandoning everyone and outlive them. No be there for your sons and for fucks sake don’t further traumatize your grandson who is just starting to feel safe and happy again. Dying I can forgive bur godhood is a choice
