Rick, a friend and mentor, speculated I needed a parametric equalizer to cut unwanted frequencies in my recordings. That got me thinking. Replacing the Fender combo spring reverb with a Boss reverb pedal reduced some of the tinniness I’ve been struggling to remove my sound. My amp set-up is in three channel stereo. All pedals sum at the Silencer noise gate except reverb. I’ve done a few recording tests, but I’m still not satisfied with my recorded guitar tone. So, I’m spending a lot of time carefully listening while twisting dials and switching buttons. There’s an overall tinniness to the sound that I find doesn’t blend well with the other instrumentation. It might have to do with my amp combos.
