I think I'll do this for each new episode ( as though anyone cares lolz) AND I WANNA KNOW OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS TOO TELL ME YOUR OPINIONS TOO YESGOOD but I'm gonna list my 3 favorite and 3 least favorite things about each episode! with maybe some minor notes at the end? doing the premiere now so I'll have only 2 episodes next week. LET'S GOOOO under the cut because

LIKES:

RAND. The way that Josha is playing him really gets so little credit and I think it's unfair. His change in acting/posture even through each season is telling enough for the arc and, honestly, it's impressive. He doesn't even have to speak for me to get where Rand is at.

That first scene. YES it was beautifully done. The CGI was incredible, the fight was thrilling, I didn't know what was going to happen next. VERY GOOD, VERY IMPRESSIVE. and the step up each season in the cgi department is fantasic.

The Tower Politics that I'm not sure where it's going to go now. It'll be great. Siuan having that talk with Egwene and Nynaeve, I'm wondering what's going to become of that. I'm excited. I love seeing Siuan and I'm wondering if they're going to do her book storyline. Either way, I like seeing her.

DISLIKES

Egwene's character direction. I do NOT like her whole TURNING MY BACK ON THE TOWER ARC. for me, Egwene was the most Aes Sedai in the books. The perfect Aes Sedai and seeing her flip so suddenly is weird? And also - PTSD does not make character development. Egwene didn't and wouldn't handle things that way, to me at least. In the books she seemed really the character with her head on straight, she dealt with things differently. For Rand to deal with his own ptsd in his way and then having her deal with it in another was a great show of opposites for them. To see her deal with it this way and be all ANTI TOWER really irked me. Because I'm sick of shows making that the grounds for development, it really doesn't have to be. People CAN GO THROUGH THINGS AND NOT REACT THAT WAY. anyways ALSO SHE DESERVED A LONGER TEST wtf

Moiraine working with Lanfear? YEAH NO. I did not like this at all. WHY? Nope. I erase this from my mind Moiraine would NOT. And that far? To trust her that far? Rushed explanation to Lan and just...NO. Also the Bubble of Evil NOT BEING ONE? DISAPPOINTED.

How fast everything was? They're always saying that they're developing things better on the show then they turn around and give these people whole ass relationships off screen that suddenly we're supposed to buy. The storyline felt like they just wanted them out of the city and onto their journey in 2.5 seconds. Also why tf are they in Tar Valon?

I LOVED Aviendha actually. she was great.

Rand and Moiraine's dynamic is fantastic. A+

I liked that Rand isn't running away again like people initially thought.. Get that boy in command lol

Loial and Rand reading together was precious. give me more.

Perrin just wanting to REST is so in character. he deserves it.

I wish we got more introductions towards these relationships. Elayne KNOWS Rand will respect the Aiel somehow. FINALLY with Aviendha and Elayne was out of nowhere. How did Rand and Egwene get back to that place? Why are Nynaeve and Lan shacking up again?

I liked the boys having A MOMENT that was fun. and that talk with Perrin and Rand was so good. As well as their goodbye when everyone was hugging. I LOVE hugs. I LIVE for hugs and idek but it's so great.

Again Moiraine is all I WONT LET HIM NEAR ANOTHER AES SEDAI but she's in the middle of Tar Valon for some reason is beyond me.

We visited most show regulars except for Min so I'm still 100% unsure where they're going to put Min in the scheme of things, as in future story-wise

I WANTED TO SEE MORE OF THE BOW TO ME SCENE that was just not enough to be impactful

I LOVED the use of The Old Tongue.

I LOVED Rand being annoyed by the maidens following him lol

i finished the umbrella academy s4. i am not amused. here are my thoughts (looong post incoming)

1. i don’t remember diego being so fucking annoying. actually that’s a lie he’s always been annoying but since he was hot i let it slide but now that he’s not treating lila right (how do u fumble a baddie THAT HARD) i think he should participate in the shut the fuck up challenge

2. “their uncle will pick them up” HUH? like obviously this timeline is different but you’re telling me lila has uncles (and parents! or someone! she was talking to some elderly couple before the party!). what does that mean for the others… were their mothers still killed in this timeline or did klaus live out his little amish dream, even if he wasn’t around to experience it? ykwim? like did they show up to this timeline and someone was like “omg where did u wander off to? i was looking all over for u!” and then it turns out it’s their sibling/uncle/whatever in that timeline and they just have to be like ah yes. i surely do know who u are

3. what they did to lila and diego was criminal!!! “she said she couldn’t get pregnant while breast feeding. but she could” dramatic ass reveal for no fucking reason. like get over yourself diego

4. ok i know they prob couldn’t get rays actor to come back but what the fuck do u mean he walked out. and how can allison afford that nice house when all she’s doing is being in commercials nobody wants. our girl has a BEAMER. also i thought they weren’t supposed to have phones or anything like that so why does allison have a vape lollll. not complaining bc that scene was funny to me but why and how

5. ughhh they were tryna set up lila and five SO BAD in the beginning. and even then they still gave off intense sibling vibes

6. ok maybe im just too american but the gun imagery was kinda not it for me. like idk i think the bit with santa claus coming out shooting at everything was supposed to be funny but idkk i think im just too sensitive bc i was like mkkk whatever not funny. also i know luther has super strength but even in s1 he still got majorly injured when that chandelier fell on him but now he’s fucking indestructible apparently?? like getting shot at and stuff?? what???

7. ok but that grandma loading her old timey gun while she turned to the siblings like O.O was funny i’ll give them that

8. speaking of guns wtf siblings are killing EVERYONE. like ik they started the apocalypse and everything but idek just the way they did it was so weird. like less detached/guilty and more like… triumphant? satisfied? idk but it had a different tone than even s3, i remember in s2 it was such an intense ordeal when allison made those two european brothers kill each other but this time they straight up mass murdered a bunch of ppl in a small town and were like B). like ok. like allsion mutilated that guy in front of her DAUGHTER and it was just chill. major tonal shift

9. “you just had to one up me” 1) you just killed a bunch of ppl diego!! 2) that is NOT the lila and diego i know. the real lila and diego would have started making out nasty style the moment lila killed that guy w her laser eyes. also wtf were the point of the laser eyes. she used them like twice and then that was it

10. with that being said all that affair stuff and recovery and addiction and relapse was getting so heavy. which ik is the point and the umbrella academy has always been heavy but like holy shit u GOTTA pick a struggle. is lila gonna groom five or is klaus gonna give claire trauma cos u can’t have both

11. speaking of claire… “would it help to remind u that we were just as shitty at her age” no u fucking weren’t. u could have breathed at ur british alien father wrong and he would have made u do drills until u puked. don’t play rn

12. why did they not trust the audience to pick up on the fact ben spiked their drinks. like we did not need a full on FLASHBACK. or like to be fully immersed in that scene, a tiny little flashback would have done

13. ok but why is this season so scary. like that train station made me paranoid

14. i will never forgive them for what they did to my girl lila. she used to serve CUNT

15. that british lady alien annoyed the fuck outta me

16. WHERE was pogo. and grace. they needed to find a way to bring them back. maybe they could have transported to a universe where the apocalypse happened and now the world was getting ruled by a planet of [gunshots]

17. why the fuck was diego acting like jennifer and ben weren’t linked in some way when all of s3 they alluded to the jennifer incident every other scene. i get it was supppsed to be so obvious even to someone who has ONLY watched s4 that jennifer and ben were linked so it was just a case of diego being stupid BUT that doesn’t work when it’s already been established that they all know jennifer played a part in ben’s death. hence calling it the Jennifer Incident

18. “they tried to address that in later scenes” they failed. they didn’t know how ben died, fine. but they knew jennifer had something to do w it. i’m tired of scenes that poke fun at diego for being stupid. he’s not stupid—he’s cocky

19. okay no but this season was SO gory. like. whatever they have guns this is a revolution but the guts? the intestines?? they wanted to be stranger things sooo bad

20. no but we need to talk about that. the monster thingie at the end was so stranger things and the guns and the military and everything it was like we were back in s3 (or whenever we met the russians)

21. LOL but that scene where diego finds out about five and lila was lowkey funny. this season was so meta in general

22. speaking of the holidays… i sure did love watching everyone sing christmas carols and walk around in the snow when it was hot asf in real time

23. i do like how many parallels there were to s1. like w viktor and reggie, it was very viktor and leonard in s1. and klaus getting kidnapped. although i was kinda tired of klaus getting abducted and his siblings not giving a fuck. i thought there was supposed to be growth there

24. okayyy but ben and jennifer were cute SORRY. “let’s get married” that would have worked on me. however being rude to me while i was at work WOULDNT have worked on me so maybe yall are right maybe we didn’t need a love interest this season

25. i did NOT expect them to actually drag out lila and five’s love story. other than the age gap (no matter how ur looking at it) you already knew it was gonna be bad as soon as they had their first kiss. i hate those multiple little open mouthed kisses that are literally just ALL lip and spit like that’s fucking gross if ur gonna stick ur tongue in my mouth u better do it by the third little :O we got going on there. and then five was giving boy. like literal boy. and lila is a literal goddess but a goddess that’s well into her 20s and the contrast was so sharp it rlly was giving mom and her caucasian child. i mean that bit about lila viewing it as survival vs five actually clinging onto it showed their different levels of maturity, but since it’s never specified if five is still a 50 year old man or just aging normally, his reaction rlly was such a teenage boy thing. “i’m gonna kill him” man shut the fuck up

26. ok no bc we need to talk about this. i think fives actor is my age—maybe even a little bit older—but i don’t see how anyone over the age of 18 is supposed to find him attractive. like idk it’s weird in the show but even creepier irl cos lila’s actor had to have known him when he was still a minor. why did anyone at the umbrella academy think we wanted this

27. anyway not to make this about myself but when i was writing the odesta longfic there were a lot of lore inconsistencies as we kept going bc i forgot some of the details and was too lazy to go back and read it sometimes, and i think that’s what happened this season. the most notable detail is when klaus covered his ears while everyone was shooting at each other. i was expecting some sort of vietnam flashback but like no. he was just there being normal about it, all things considered

28. “ex-squeeze me?” it wasn’t funny when klaus said it in s1. and it wasn’t funny here

29. alright i think that’s really all i wanted to say about the season tbh… like idk diego and lila starting a family made sense i guess and i know they were falling out of love (even tho they would never do that…) but i didn’t rlly feel any of the love w the kids. like even when lila stepped off the train at the last min and her daughter was banging at the glass it looked more like she was like “oh no :(“ and then just started poking at the glass. i don’t even think it matters that she didn’t fully know what was going on—if you’re a child and ur mom steps away in an unfamiliar situation, you’re gonna start to freak. especially w everything else that was going on

30. ok this is such a small thing to harp on but they abused the fuck outta that time skip font. like i don’t think they ever used it that much before now

31. now let’s get into the ending. this is how i would fix it:

we can keep jennifer. whatever. that thing they added at the very last second about her having a particle that causes the end of the world was… whatever. like i get it. they needed a way to explain the end of the world and that was the thing they used and even if it was very late to introduce such a (admittedly confusing) bombshell, at least it fits in with what we already know about this universe’s rules. magic and particles and marigold and whatever. jennifer is fine.

tbh when jennifer started feeling sick i was honestly thinking that they were gonna go the surprise pregnancy route even though they weren’t even fuckinf hinting at that i just have no media literacy. i wouldn’t have minded that tbh, like the monster transformation made more sense but imagine if we did a twilight ripoff for a second, except that jennifer and ben were both equally protective of the killer baby growing outside of jennifer’s womb (or in her womb… whatever. point is there’s a baby). i don’t think this is a good idea—if anything i think this is a shit idea. but something that’s always been so prominent in tua are the moral implications of what they’re doing, like with everyone wanting to kill harlan in s3 instead of letting the entire world die, and with everything that happened with viktor in s1. there was the whole “i can’t kill my brother” bit, sure, but everyone kinda didn’t rlly seem too enthusiastic about it.

actually the baby addition is actually a shit idea. i’m just keeping that part of the rant in bc we need SOME sort of moral dilemma that isn’t just viktor arguing w hargreeves and then his siblings dropping in later with opinions that don’t even seem that strong. everyone needs to have a strong opinion on SOME sort of moral issue that we wanna introduce—that, in a perfect world, we’d be building up to throughout the season—and then yeah whatever there can be an epic fight scene

i don’t watch/read a lot of time travel stuff, but from what i gathered, the timeline can never be restored once it’s fucked with. there has to be consequences, like with any story. and tua did address that—they tried restoring the timeline thousands of times—but i think they shot themselves in the foot there. time travel with a (somewhat) happy ending is possible—there just has to be something to lose, and it has to be something that isn’t nonnegotiable. claire was nonnegotiable, which is why i think they stayed in s3’s timeline for as long as they did

point is, i think they should have gone back to 2019. i mean i don’t think anyone really wanted them to die. i made a joke in s3’s rant that i would just give up, but lucky for me, i am not a fictional character in tua, so the fact they just die in the last five mins and we’re supposed to be ok w that makes the last three seasons pointless. like, actually pointless. what was the message here? why is the ending of the show painted as some sort of utopia just bc we got rid of the siblings? and why is five okay with that? i think him being on board w dying could have been an interesting route to take if they showed his relationship w his siblings consistently deteriorating (both on screen AND off screen) but they only rlly managed to do that with diego, and it was for something fucking stupid

ANYWAY. bring those fools back to 2019, but don’t make them totally happy. just give them something that makes them all just stay put, like how allison has claire (doesn’t matter which timeline. it could be from the fucked up timeline. i don’t think the cleanse would happen bc of that bc claire is only one person and not an entire fucking organization like tua or an assassination like jfk. so hell. might as well throw harlan and sissy in there for viktor. that makes lila and diego’s motivation really easy for staying put, cos then they have their kids. klaus is klaus and no offense to him but i think hes just gonna roll w the cards he’s dealt without trying to fight back, for better or for worse. then ben can have jennifer and since they love each other idk they just stick around. then five’s motivation for staying is that his family is alive and none of them want to leave and that’s good enough for him bc that’s why he time traveled in the first place

again… i don’t think what i came up with is any good. i just think it’s better than them all dying at the last fuckin second. i think this show relied on a lot of haha random xd humor at the beginning and they tried to keep that intact here but everything got so serious that i think them all dying rlly did seem like the only way out but.. it’s not. they could go back to the way things are as long as there were consequences. it would suck, and none of them would be as happy as they could be, but they know that’s as happy as they’re gonna get, so whatever. like, if we were gonna take the suicide route, we might as well gone the time loop route and gone back from the very beginning when five blinks back to 2019. i think that rly would have driven home the “this all would have happened anyway” point way better than them just being like guess ill die :) bc ughhh. no they wouldn’t. also they wouldn’t let lila leave bc she still had marigold in her but… what about her and diego’s kids?? they’re half marigold, and claire is a quarter, so… what’s up with that?

JUST REWATCHED ALL OF PVP CIV HERES MY THOUGHTS (spoilers for pvp civ up to s2e2 ofc)

okay so minor thing but, pvp language guy is the one who drugs evbo when he gets kidnapped and stuff which i knew but like, boooooo i live in my own world so i pretend zam did that lol

btw where did pvp language guy get the potions. i dont think theres nausea pots in sword civ, and tabi had pots so maybe axe civ has pots???

um ok so, i feel like there was a bit of a plot hole. with armor. so , like…. why do most iron swords and all the diamond swords and tabi and clown NOT wear chestplates? for iron swords maybe it makes sense, bc its usually peaceful and all. i feel like diamond swords should have armor though??? like just in case yk? and of ANYONE id think the axes would definitely have armor. they are super aggressive so that would be big for them. but they just DONT. even clown and tabi, DIAMOND axes. maybe its not available for them???? but also, tabi HAD a chestplate, and if you have a diamond weapon you can keep your items on the gold level, so tabi would still have her iron chestplate (probably would hide it in her inventory, but wouldnt she put it back on once she left sword civ?). BUT SHE DOESNT WEAR IT?? maybe it disappeared magically or something but also then there wouldnt be armor in axe civ apparently? and the bows didnt have it. ugh idk just bothered me. maybe some lore reason exists but rn feels like a massive plot hole. maybe all the civs have different shopping stuff and axes just got pots instead of armor sigh idk..

so there ARE layers to bow civ but its not like based on different versions of the weapons. WHY DIDNT THE AXES FIND THEM DUDE?? are there like actually secret areas down there??? maybe something axes cant hit bc its too far away and designed for bows. idk dude. the ladders down were NOT that well hidden so i feel like the axes couldve totally found everybody unless there were secret areas

wtf are the eternal weapons for bows tridents n shields ?? like theres ONE version. does it just have unbreaking 100000000. thorns shield would be cool but thats not a thing, maybe loyalty trident and idek for bow. would say infinity but they lowkey already got that, maybe its just a crossbow?????? visually doesnt seem like itd be different from normal ones. perhaps thats why eternal bow wasnt shown maybe evbo hasnt figured out what to do for it smh.

saw this in another post but axes having access to logs as blocks because axes are utility as well as pvp?!?!?! what if axe civ is just lumberjack civ and they all cut trees all day. here in lumberjack civilization nobody chops fo- anyways.

WHAT GUARD TOLD THE BOWS ABOUT THE RESPAWNING POWER??? “that guard said ferre has it-” is that OUR guard or a different one? havent seen any other guards other than guard friend in bow civ so ??? also how would guards know that. they arent on diamond level. i mean evbo totally couldve told guard friend but idk, also seawatt seemed like he couldve already bribed him a little before but also im not sure thats what actually happened its probably just cuz of weird wording. but are there other guards? would like to know…

its also just crazy how much better the production is cuz i just watched the herobrine series and the improvement is ABSURD!!!! its actually awesome super cool to see. yeah i JUST watched it for the first time but wahhhhh im a new fan i literally only started watching evbo for park civ and i found it at the tail end of its virality and people have thought im a longtime fan because i am CRAZY and nope im not im a FAKE FAN . NORMALIZE BEING A FAKE FAN >:(

woahhhh i only half read it bc oh god thats a lot of text but something that stuck out to me was the chestplates. For the diamonds, I was thinking that bc they’re at the bottom and never open the door, they don’t face many threats, so there’s no need to protect themselves. And the axes, I’m thinking they think they’re superior and much more powerful than the others, so the other weapons pose little threat to them. Hehehe i’ll go back later and reread all of it fr this time. Its late rn though i should probably go to bed :b

OAKY GIRL DRAMA. For context this has been going on for years and i have. An anger problem so this may have been my fault

So theres 3 girls here. Girl x is my best friend, girl y is one kf my close friends that is directly involved in this and girl z is the one i punched

Basically girl x got a boyfriend last year and the boyfriend has drama with girl z’s sister becahse they had a 2 week long talking stage that did NOT last long because her sister is psycho. at the time when girl x and boyfriend got together girl z was cheating on HER girlfriend and i found out about both around relatively the same time. The problem with this is that girl z did NOT like girl x’s boyfriend and decided to spread rumors about how hes a terrible person and manipulative. I was like “woah buddy thats taking it too far…also arent you literally cheating on your gf like why do you have any say in someone else’s relationship” and she was just like “i do what i want” ok whatever

Fast forward a week or two and girl y and i have library period together (we get to be librarians for 45 mins) and we overhear some kissing sounds and its GIRL Z KISSING HER CHILDHOOD FRIEND?? that she hates btw. So girl y was like “oh shit we have to tell her girlfriend” — who, for even more context, goes to a different school than us but they all went to elementary together except for me so they knew who she was anyway

Girl y sends girl z’s gf a long winded message about the kissing and how shes worried that girl z is cheating on her. Girlfriend very understandably gets mad at girl z and confronts her. THEN a week after that we dont see girl z until she decided to start making shit up about me and girl y being terrible friends going behind her back spreading rumors. I get my cool ass dean to pull up security footage of them kissing and i Think the drama is handled until girl z wants to hold a “friendgroup meeting”

girl z is mad at me and girl y for telling her girlfriend she got cheated on. Meanwhile she is also mad at girl x for getting a boyfriend and “ruining her and her sisters lives” i stood up for girl x saying she had nothing to do with this and that she needs to drop it

NOW. Fast forward to today. This stuff has been happening for about a month now and ive been dealing with girl z calling me stuff behind my back, calling me the f slur and saying im manipulative and a horrible friend for taking her away from me, etc etc. Victimizing shit. So i call her out on it (and for a bunch of other little stuff thats been happening because i am FED UP. Particularly about her spreading lies about girl x and me, making stuff up about us cheating on our partners even though im in a messy situation with mine rn so that js COMPLETELY uncalled for, whatever you can think of shes said it)

So it was a lot of back ans forth of me bringing up stuff and her getting closer and closer to my face until i yelled for her to back the fuck up and act like a civilized woman and she said “im not fighting with a pussy (t slur) like you” so i clocked her in the jaw and her mouth was bleeding and i walked away💀

I REGRET IT IN ALL HONESTY BUT AR THE SAME TIME WHY WOULD YOU CALL SOMEONE THAT AND NOT EXPECT A BEATING?????? anyway thats the tea let me know if you want more my life is crazy😍

I think I've identified part of what made Yu-Peng Chen's work in genshin so unique compared to the soundtrack that wasn't written by him

firstly, his effective use of unconventional time signatures. "math rock" and "math jazz" have nothing on Mondstadt's OST, plus Gilded Runner. the guy used the Fibonacci Sequence EFFECTIVELY to create a REALLY GOOD battle theme. I think using those unique structures really represents the concept of freedom and not being constrained to 4/4 and 3/4

secondly, LOW WOODWINDS. the bass clarinet in Rite of Battle. the bassoon in God-Devouring Mania. these are the two most obvious examples but I think there may be more. I believe it also appears in all the character themes in the first character disc.

thirdly, the musical genius that is the Photon of Fluctuation motif. If you're not familiar, it's those notes that show up in most of the battle themes (especially the earlier ones). that

while Yu-Peng Chen did not work on Fontaine's OST, I do want to bring it up. if you played for a while and really appreciated the OST a lot, you probably noticed the difference between the music in Fontaine vs rest of the world. It has a lot of Romantic vibes (as in like music from the romantic period)

He also didn't do Enkanomiya, fyi. Idek if newer players even know wtf Enkanomiya is, but that was also a different guy. the vibes are different, but it makes sense since lmao

Hi! 💞 as far as I've seen most roleplay here on Tumblr happen in public via ask box, you send/get sent any type of roleplay prompt or start of conversation (there are blogs who post rp memes and starters for people to reblog so that others can choose a prompt to send from the list, but it's not always required to wait for a prompt list, you can also send/get prompts and starters without having reblogged a post beforehand) and after the answer to that ask the roleplay moves forward through reblogs

Example: you send me an ask saying "Hi" and I answer to that ask with "Hello", at that point if you want to continue the rp you reblog my answer with your own continuation like "How are you", after which I reblog yours with my own continuation and so on and so forth for as long as we want

If a thread happens to get too long after a while (something that might happen, I once had an rp thread go on for months on another rp blog of mine, it was a monster of a thread) you can also make a new post starting with a "Continuation from" or something along those lines (personally I love to use, "Previously on [Name blog/Title rp thread]" but everyone uses what they prefer) with a link to the previous thread so that it starts anew and it's not too long anymore, and of course you can do that as many times as it's needed

As for roleplaying in private in the dms, to me personally it happened only once. The other blog wanted to try out some triggering themes but didn't want to write those things where everyone else could read them so we ended up roleplaying in my dms

I honestly have no idea if it's a common thing or not, but as someone who grew up roleplaying on F*ceb*ok where most rps happened in private chats (some did happen on public posts but no one wanted to risk posting things that might get reported/banned, especially with the group I used to be in where we would often indulge in dark themes, heavy angst, explicit torture and sometimes even NSFW roleplay between our characters) it's not that weird to me so usually it depends on what my roleplay partner prefers

It's very rare for me to feel embarassed or anxious about roleplaying something so I'm always ok with public rp (and yes, even public NSFW rp, though usually I put those kind of things under the read more thing)

Other than that I guess it can change from person to person, maybe some have a preference for private rp and others for public rp, I've seen some who only accept asks from mutuals and keep anon off, but usually each blog has their own rules posted for those things so it's easy to know

I've also noticed two different ways to divide between muse and mun, some people use the "/" when talking as the mun (ex, *Character does/says something* /Omg this was so fun to write XD <- second part is the mun and not the character, usually put a couple of empty lines under the rp) while others use tags (ex, *Character does/says something* *down in the tags #omfg I can't believe he did that #this was so fun to write tho #your answer was so good #idek wtf is going on anymore* and each reblog adds new tags of their own to talk outside the rp as a sort of conversation), personally I've used both depending on what my rp partner prefers (I adapt quite easily) so use whatever you feel is right for you

Now, I'm not a Tumblr rp etiquette professional so there might be things I don't know/forgot to mention/got wrong, but also it's pretty easy to learn once you get into the right circle, I remember the first time I started roleplaying (both here on Tumblr and before on the Book app) I was basically going in blind and just imitating what everyone around me was doing while barely understanding why they were doing certain things until I started learning by observing and got bolder with my own roleplay so don't worry if you don't understand/know everything right away and give yourself some wiggle room to learn and make mistakes here and there

although i am definetly elucien,i want to put one thing out there-elucien is not confirmed,neither is gwynriel or elriel for that matter because i honestly feel like miss janet will just go with the most popular ship at that point of time for the next book, and the reason why sooooo much ships even exist is because she has no idea wtf she is doing and just does whatever for aesthetic,cuz she has a huge cult- i mean fanbase who will buy and support whatever peice if shit she writes.....like idek what is going on at this point,we satrted with tension b/w cas,az and mor, cuz cas hooked up with his so called bff's crush loooooooooong ago in their 500 years of useless life,then he gives a long winded explanation in acosf of why he had to "kill" any sort of feelings for mor,but for some reason she still "takes his breath away" and he gifts her lingerie for christmas.....i am not even opening that can of worms,then we have this tension b/w az and mor but turns out mor is gay for some reason,then elain has a beatuful,hot,intelligent and tortured mate but we have tension b/w a cardboard cut out az and elain......sometimes there are scenes b/w them that indicate they can end up together(a nightmare really,but it might possible since sarah thinks it's important that every family member live in the same city) but elain never really rejected her hot mate and some scenes show she might actually care about him and then we have az who has this mentality of a 10 year old who wants the the same toys as his friends(three brothers,three sister mentality) and suddenly we have tension between him and another girl who he trains.......did i miss smth??like what even is going on here!!!! it's as if she wants got level complicated relationship,though she could never even in seven lifetimes ever pull off smth like that cuz she doesn't have that level of nuance or creativity,it's obvious she was not going for that but it smh ended up being like that which just shows the level of this author's impulsiveness and lack of intricate thinking........it's just indian soap opera minus the mother in law

SJM is really weird about making chosen families, especially in ACOTAR. I don't know why she made everyone into each other. That Mor being gay thing was a retcon and makes very little sense to me. I think it would make more sense for any of the Archerons to be gay, or even Gwyn and Emerie, but that's what happens with straight white authors sometimes. They make the most random characters gay for "representation," but they have no idea what they're doing. As for that bonus chapter, I do think it was a little bit of fan service to include the "elriel" part as well as convenient for her plot to push Azriel into Gwyn's arms and Elain into Lucien's arms, because after ACOWAR she had compared Elain and Azriel to siblings, but someone must have told her about the popular elriel ship and that was her response. Before ACOFAS, Elriel wasn't even a possibility in the author's view. I still think it's a very low possibility based on how the BC was arranged, but it could technically happen, in which case I will never pick up a SJM book again. But...not to give SJM a ton of credit or anything, but she tends to go in whatever route she wants to go regardless of who the loudest fans are. She gave Chaol a book in a time when Chaol was highly unpopular in the fandom (not for me, I never stopped loving that man) and it turned out to be her best written book ever. So I don't think Azriel being super popular or Elriel fans being the loudest (not the most popular) will have an impact on the next book's ship. It makes little to no sense to me for her to go in the Elriel direction, especially after she made Lucien think Jesminda was his mate for so long, then was initially going to make Nesta his mate, only to have him wind up with a different Archeron sister. After all that, plus everything she put him through, to give him a rejected mate? Bah, not happening. Lucien is her Jamie Fraser inspired character, she loves him regardless of what certain fans in the fandom might think. And she has always been a fated mates writer. I am crying at the Indian soap opera comparison because ACOTAR does feel like that at times with the cringey drama and sexual tension🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I do think ACOTAR is too heavily romance focused which is why TOG is SJM's best written series.

i know some of y’all are going to eat this up

donald davenport abused his kids. i posted a tiktok about this and actually got so much hate for it wtf. people were asking what he did and saying he’s a good dad. you can protect your kids without depriving them of things like food and FUCKING GOING UPSTAIRS. they have NEVER left the basement. to them, that’s completely normal. and disney adds laugh tracks to these things like it’s funny? not everything on disney is comical and should be taken seriously. when leo asked “so you’ve never left this room?” chase answered with the fact that all they do is eat, sleep, and train, and then mentioned the shows title. when leo mentions school, bree chimes in and says she wants to go to school. at one point during the premiere, they say (c)”i want to go to the pyramids,” (b)”i want to go to paris” and (a)”i want to go upstairs.” what. the. fuck.

he wanted to send them off over one little mistake. when they went to school for the first time, they caused a bit of trouble. i understand getting mad, but he said they were to have no contact with the outside world after that. leo threw his party, and he decided to send them to the remote facility they almost went to in the first episode. dude, they have NEVER been outside. they’re going to make mistakes. instead of sending them off to fucking antarctica, why don’t you discipline and try to compromise. leo already loved them by then, and he was totally right to be upset. give your kids a chance. they’re like babies. would you send a baby to an offshore facility to be taken care of? exactly.

he is so fucking selfish. i mean chase went alaska (i believe) RISKING HIS LIFE to get davenport something he needed for his thermoblaster or whatever it was idek. when chase came back, he had a small reaction, don’t even remember what he said. when chase showed him whatever he got, donald got excited and went “MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY” and then went “sorry, thank you” and disney once again laughed it off. like tf? you gonna tell your son you’re glad he’s ok?

the entirety of ‘the rats strike back’ episode. think about it.

when douglas blew up the lab, leo mentioned the fact he’s completely broke, and he started crying. he said “i’m crying about the kids” which he obviously wasn’t. disney again put that as a joke. like your kids are missing, basically their room just blew up, and you’re worried about your money? then when the lab rats were receiving an award, he was working on an indestructible car so he could get some job from the president and therefore, money. “i might even share some with you” davenport teased. bree asked if he was serious, to which he answered no as if that were obvious. “so even though it’s OUR awards show, suddenly it’s all about YOU?” chase asked. “you know, for the smartest man in the world, it really took you a while to realize that” he responded. DISNEY LAUGHED IT OFF. this man. he’s a damn billionaire, why does he need more money?

every person he has ever met besides maybe tasha doesn’t like him: salespeople, krane, perry, people he has tried to sell his inventions to, and i understand why. he’s annoying, a narcissist, selfish, and not a good father nor a good person. you can say “he protected his kids” all you want, but he could have taken a different approach to it.

TTPD -the album proper- first thoughts

Here are some thoughts about TTPD -the album proper, cause I do not have the time or energy to analyze The Anthology (Taylor, wtf was this double drop???)- before I’m influenced by other people’s thoughts. Warning: I may be waaaay off the mark in some cases cause half the time when I was listening to these songs for the first time I was like “???”

Fortnight (feat. Post Malone) - Great melody, smart choice for an album opener, nice lyrics, no idea wtf the song is talking about. Like, I am guessing it’s about (a first?) break-up with Joe Alwyn in February -and they might have gotten back together for only a fortnight then broke up again for good?- but I’m so confused. Also, why is this the lead single? Taylor, this is not gonna win you SOTY at the grammys. 7/10

The Tortured Poets Department - This was … unexpected, to say the least. This was truly a picture of a moment in her relationship, while I expected either some kind of introspection or parody. Also the line about what he told Lucy and she said the same to Jack? Insane. Girl, you are both better off single. The ring and the wedding allusion? God, it hurt. (And it was only the beginning with this album…). Amazing song anyway. 9.5/10

My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys - Girl, this is mental illness for me. Love it to bits and I kinda wish it will become a single (I think it’s my … 3rd choice for a single?), but… girl, I’m happy you two broke up. 9.5/10

Down Bad - I had low expectations from this song cause the title inspired nothing in me, but it really delivered a punch. Probably one of the most honest songs on the album proper. Oh, and her vocals here? Her tone of voice? No notes, it just … hits different *_* 8/10

So Long London - Funny enough, I did hear a leak of this! But it was like … 10 seconds from the intro and I wasn’t sure it was real. It is a very good song, and I can understand why she chose it as a track 5. But for me, when compared to other track 5s -and with a title so inflammatory- it was a bit of a let down. Still love it of course. 8.5/10

But Daddy I Love Him - This one is about Matty Healy, isn’t it? Like, it has to be, cause for the life of me I can’t see who this guy could be but Matty Healy. This song … I laughed out loud. She’s unhinged. ‘I’m having his baby’. Girl, you are unhinged. The wedding fever continues, and now we get the first glimpse of the baby fever. God, I love her. You can literally hear how done she was with everyone having an opinion about whom she dates. I need to listen to this and I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) back to back, cause this girl was so so wrong. Except that bridge. The bridge is gospel and spoke straight to my soul. 10/10

Fresh Out the Slammer - And I’m guessing this is the continuation of the track before, so still about MH. I have to say, this is really meh for me. Maybe because I was expecting something even more high tempo, but this is just … there for me. It doesn’t help that the ‘pretty baby’ annoys me. 6/10

Florida!!! - Nice to see Florence get so much singing time. Their voices mashed surprisingly well. But just like with Fortnight -and these two do seem connected- I have no idea what she is talking about here. I think it might be a composite sketch referring to both her first post break-up shows and Florida as a metaphor for escaping from your life? Idek. But the melody is great and this might be my fave collab of hers so far. 8.5/10

Guilty as Sin? - Another Matty Healy one IMO. Amazing how much material she got from such a short-lived affair. IMO she made a mistake making this track 9 and Florida!!! track 8. I would switch them around to make more sense. I’m not 100% sure this is about emotional cheating, as I think the Joever break-up wasn’t as clear cut as it was made to be, but there is something here about overlapping timelines. 9/10

Who’s Afraid Of Little Old Me? - Well, everyone should be now!!! I adore this song, it’s my fave of the album. If I have one complaint about it is that I would have put it more towards the beginning of the album instead of in the middle of the Matty Healy Saga - which makes no sense to me. Honestly, I don’t have much to say about this track cause in my eyes it’s perfect. This is the Taylor I’m here for. 10/10

I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) - That last line! I laughed so hard. On one hand, I feel sorry for her. Otoh, girl, you should have run the first time you saw him. Great song to end the Matty Healy Saga on. 9/10

loml - Wow, this was a punch to the gut. Every lyric here is a masterpiece and a dagger to the heart. I would love it if she made this a single (this is SOTY material IMO), but it’s probably too emotional for her. The melody reminds me of Last Kiss, but the piano is giving Evermore. 10/10

I Can Do It With a Brokern Heart - Why is this not the lead single, Taylor??? It has everything: melody, lyrics, airplay value, SOTY potential, why?! I love every single second of this song, especially the chorus. I’m probably gonna listen to it on repeat. Second fave after WAOLOM. 10/10

The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived - Every song I thought was gonna be cutting turned out to be just plain sad. IMO, this song is both about JA and MH. I don;t really have much to say about this song, as it is just .. painful. 9.5/10

The Alchemy - Yeah, I’m team This Song is About Travis. Nice song, and I like that she included something about the current relationship, but it’s not exactly a fave for me. 7.5/10

Clara Bow - This was my predicted fave, but it was def dethroned. Still, I do think this is Top 5 for me. I love the direct reference to herself at the end and the way this is both hopeful and still somewhat sad. Also really like the vocals here. 10/10

Final score: 8.87

Not bad at all. Gonna deal with The Anthology later. Much later as I actually have a life to go back to.

Anyway. Between my breakup with my ex and now today. Idek. Im just so tired of having to be resilient and keep going. Im so tired of being hopeful that things will get better in my life. ITS LIKE HOW MUCH MORE CAN I TAKE?!

I give so much in my relationships only to not have it returned or appreciated. I give SO SO much of myself in my job— whether it was reshaping the structure of the AR process, making sure I hit DOUBLE MY NUMBERS each month, JUST TO FEEL DISRESPECTED BY KASIE BC I WAS CONFUSED on what she was talking about bc we were talking shit the same customer but two different things/invoices. It’s like …I WORKED SO HARD and I don’t deserve respect regardless if I was confused and didn’t quite articulate myself in a way where it came out clear and concise. J hate her “wtf/umm ok” tone when she said whatever she said in response to me, IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. Srsly fuck you. I

I PUT SO MUCH OF MYSELF INTO EVERYTHING I DO AND EVERYONE I LOVE AND ITS NEVER ENOUGH FOR THEM. And I just can’t. I honestly can’t anymore. I’ve emotionally shut down.

All of this hits my core belief that I’m not good enough. EVEN tho I KNOW I AM. I am GREAT AT MY FUCKING JOB AND I KNOW KASIE KNOWS THAT TOO WHICH IS WHY ITS SO CONFUSING AND HURTFUL THAT SHE WAS DISRESPECTFUL W HER TONE. I know I HAVE A LOT OF LOVE TO GIVE SOMEONE ELSE AND I AHVE SO SOOO MUCH TO OFFER.

But no one appreciates it. I hate that I’m not articulate as I am in my head and that my thoughts don’t come out smoothly bc it makes me feel so incompetent to kasie when I KNOW I BRING VALUE TO THIS OFFICE. Internally I know am good enough. I do a great job. She’s the one who can’t EVEN LEAD HER OWN FUCMJNG TEAM. Why did I have to inatite the structural change WHEN I WAS FUCKKNG NEW LOL. Like isn’t that her job?! Yeah fuck you. I’m DONE putting in more effort. I’m gunna do the bare minimum to not get fired bc fuck this.

SAE A LOAF OF WHITE BREAD HAHAHA no because i would defend him but even giving him personality in oaeu made him feel like he was leaning ooc?? like wdym he makes a couple of sassy jokes and suddenly he’s not even himself?? that’s just not a character i fw i fear…yeah the jjk ending was. well. it was something!! idk like i said i wasn’t super impressed at all honestly i’m probably not going to engage with much jjk content for a while just because the ending was so…yk. anyways i saw a really interesting video on tik tok (during my self imposed isolation so sadly i didn’t save the link) that was talking about how animanga tends to rely on the visuals aspect of the storytelling which allows authors to get away with much more simplistic worldbuilding that doesn’t get explained as thoroughly and this also seeps into the plot/characters as well and i really think that that’s something that impacted jjk — there were definitely points where there was more flash over substance (in my opinion) and the magic system is definitely unique and well thought out in some ways but also unnecessarily convoluted in others?? it’s a story that would not at all hold up as a novel which again different medium of storytelling but if key elements of the plot/world like cursed techniques such as hollow purple fall apart when you cannot physically show them to the audience (just think about if you had to read gojo explaining his technique and then he just uses it on paper SKLJFHS it’s so anticlimactic lowkey) then that’s a marker that more groundwork needs to be done 😭 people who glaze relatively basic shounens like jjk for being peak writing and having amazing character dynamics etc etc (in my opinion and this is controversial hence why i’m hiding it in our chats) need to go read like…actual books (or even light novels) because if you think that gojo and geto is the most interesting dynamic conceivable then i fear you are cooked because number one craziest mira take they are NOT that special/compelling/appealing to me like i can see why people might like them but they are so normal and average to me in terms of writing 😰 READ ORV OR SMTH whatever kim dokja and yoo joonghyuk have going on is 10x more fascinating (superior white x black duo sorry not sorry)

ooh vivillon colors…iirc it was just based on what country/region your ds was set to!! so like depending on where you lived irl you would get a diff vivillon but since pursuit obviously takes place in one region where the outside world has no bearing i’m going to say that it just depends on where you end up evolving scatterbug into vivillon (maybe like an evolutionary advantage thing in terms of camouflage??) i think niko’s based on vibes would be the jungle variant and tullia’s is either the meadow variant (which is like the really famous pink one) or the savanna one!!

LMAOOO yukimiya cannot escape the fwtkac menacing karasu role i think it’s so funny how in actual canon we honestly barely see him interacting with karasu (actually i cannot remember if we ever see them have even a single conversation it’s very much so tabieita + ken…bro’s fr just ken 😓) but in the miraverse he’s always pulling up and accidentally making karasu miserable by being too perfect 😭 PLSS otoya’s like “i was never even there baby i was an illusion” so hollyhock mysterious core of him

PLS i lowkey was looking through the account they’ve also made these gorgeous blue and gold rose dividers that would be PERFECT for kaiser i was going to reblog those too and be like “ok kaiser girlies come on now” and then i remembered that i actually also have to write for kaiser now…tbh i don’t usually use super embellished dividers those!! like i prefer to use plain lines and let my headers be aesthetic but lowkey maybe the move for this event will be no headers only ask response + pretty dividers because that’s less work for me SLDKJFHDS

AHHHH my wrist is feeling much better today!! i tried to write smth and my body took a screenshot so i’m giving my hand the weekend off but she’s feeling much better already and same with my eye!! i can use my contacts again on like tuesday ish so hooray for that (i actually don’t mind my glasses as much as i used to in the sense that i don’t think i look horrible with them anymore and everyone actually says i look really cute BUT they hurt behind my ears because i’m not used to wearing them for long periods of time so i cannot wait to retun to my beloved contacts and seeing how i like)

i feel like mentally and emotionally i do NOT have the space to start smth new so it’ll probably be one i’ve watched before…cloy was the first kdrama i ever watched (only last december!! i am very late to the kdrama game) so it might be time to revisit that one since i haven’t rewatched any of the ones i’ve already seen yet 😩 i also really really liked a time called you so i could def go for another watch of that one 🤩 and i can’t rewatch yet because i literally just finished it in july-ish but i watched this one on netflix with my mother about a vet that gets psychic powers and has to team up with this police officer (tbh reader and noel noa coded) and i wasn’t expecting much out of it but it ended up being really funny so i do think that’s one i’ll probably watch again when i’m bored or looking for something silly to lighten my mood

LSFJK no i’m just really dramatic it was still just a 36 hour “these are the consequences of procrastinating” grind session but i was being emo because i wanted to tap out (i didn’t though!!) fr glad to be back (although i wasn’t on tumblr as much today because i was working on a new pursuit chapter so it probably seemed like i had cut myself off again but in fact i was just working hard so i can please you 🙂‍↕️ you know what they say a win is a win or smth like that)
