ok so basically it’s post the long night or whatever the equivalent is in ice and fire. dany probably ended it but all the political background stuff is kinda irrelevant. this is about jb being stupid for each other! anyway.

jb were together at the start of the war but gets separated because brienne chose to stay to fight in the north claiming that her quest is half done (since yes, the stark girls were back home but winterfell isn’t safe yet and she promised that she’ll take them back home safe she read the fine print) while jaime needs to go back to the west to defend the people there bc he got military prowess and his men follow him. jaime wanted her to go with him but brienne refused, but she was kind of like you don’t need to worry about me I’ll be fine here (: but then jaime gets annoyed bc a) he doesn’t want to be parted from her b) he doesn’t want her to keep sacrificing herself to be a service to someone but she’s not getting that and he’s like fine then go die for the starks if u want to so badly idc!! 🙄🙄 then he left frustrated. just imagine their argument has more substance than that lmfaooo

so jb left in a bad note. brienne fights in the north, convinces herself that she’s fine with it and he doesn’t get it but she realises that she misses him and she feels kind of lonely even though she’s surrounded by people she knows. brienne enjoyed those days where they saw eye to eye and he understood her without needing to say what she wanted. she missed that kind of connection but now that he’s gone and there’s a war she wonders if she’ll ever get to feel that again.

but the war ends, her quest is finished, brienne travels down the south to return oathkeeper.

hyle and pod tags along because they’re her +1 at this point and hyle claims he wants to go find a nice southern lord to employ himself to bc he’s tired of the cold. when they arrive at lannisport, everyone is celebrating even though the streets are still ravaged from the war. people are saying that theres going to be a tourney in a weeks time, and the lord lannister will announce his engagement then. brienne’s like 🧍‍♀️, never considered the fact that jaime could get married but she should’ve known bc everyone is making alliances left and right and she had forgotten that despite everything he was still a lannister bc he’s always been jaime to her. now she’s nervous and she doesn’t want to see him. but she’s here, with her purpose and her sword that she doesn’t really want to let go of but she should bc it wasn’t hers (just borrowed) so she goes.

jb reunion!!!! jaime is looking tired and grey and there’s a new scar across his lips but when they see each other they’re like oh!!! and they’ve spent so long in the darkness so to see him under the sun looking radiant and golden despite the greys on his temples she’s like 🧍‍♀️!! brienne has forgotten how beautiful he was. jaime is all polite to her and he smiles so kindly, and he has a really nice wrinkle on his cheek that brienne keeps noticing and he calls her lady brienne instead of wench which gets her more nervous because she’s not used to handling a jaime that’s like this.

brienne says she’s come to return the sword and he goes quiet. oh? she doesn’t need it anymore because the quest is finished. it was his, given by his lord father, so it’s only right for him to have it back. jaime goes quiet, frowns. brienne gets more nervous and goes like it served her really well but but she has no reason to hold onto it anymore. ☺️ jaime’s like … no reason? brienne: ya i mean im done jaime: and u only came here to give this back? wow ok 😐😐 brienne: ??? jaime: I’ll take it then!! 🙄🙄 if u want me to so badly!! 🙄🙄 then be off with u clearly u have better places to be since this was just an errand for u!! 🙄🙄 like im not worth ur time or whatever. brienne: ???? Bruh

but basically jaime gets annoyed at her for visiting him but acting as if it was an errand and NOT to see him. like they were friends maybe and you’d think she was more happier to see that he survived the war but then when she’s there she immediately wanted to get rid of the sword he gave her like HUH. as if HE didn’t spend the majority of the war cursing and praying for her to be fine. as if he wasn’t cursing his own foolishness for leaving her behind only to realise his feelings for her when she’s gone, regretting the time they have lost. jaime stewing on those feelings the whole time and leading up to when she opened the door to his solar, only to feel like a fool when she gave him so little regard.

and then brienne gets annoyed at him for getting annoyed at HER, and she’s salty and tired from all that travelling and from jaime acting all gentle at first then sniping at her next and she’s like fine ok BYE I guess. and she feels like a fool expecting to be welcomed with open arms!! and she wants to go and be out of this place but hyle and pod don’t want to leave bc they’re tired too and everyone is celebrating and they want to have fun!! and brienne is like fine whatever do what u want! she’ll sulk all by herself. (ALSO. Jaime learns that brienne is still travelling with hyle so he’s more like 😐😐😐🧍‍♀️🧍‍♀️🧍‍♀️🧍‍♀️)

brienne gets told by some servants that rooms are prepared for them by the lord lannister and surprise there’s also outfits for her too befitting her noble status and they fit her taste. simple and practical, def not jaime’s aesthetic. jb spends the time avoiding each other but brienne gets little gifts from the servants like her fave meals being sent to her or her armor polished or like that particular fruit she was craving but if she asks if they’re from jaime they’re like. Um. no. 😳. there’s also more bits in the middle basically jaime is lowkey courting her and showering her with presents but NOT admitting it and brienne is confused by the pile of gifts stacking at her door. soz I haven’t dreamt about this part yet so it’s a bit empty lmfao. in jaime pov after his little tantrum he realises he’s being stupid like why is he sniping at her when she’s alive and safe!! like wtf bro. so now he doesn’t want to lose his chance. he’s had enough of pining, he wants her he’s going to get her!! and if she doesn’t feel the same that’s fine but what’s important is that he still acted on his feelings. so now he’s trying to court her but she’s not getting it and he’s getting embarrassed lowkey humiliated that he’s failing like he doesn’t remember wooing someone was THIS hard but he still tries anyway

she spends time catching up with familiar faces and her and pia have a lil girls night out!!! pia tells her what happened in their side of the war and most importantly, confirms that there is an engagement by the end of the week. now brienne REALLY wants to leave. it hurt her to watch renly get married to margy, she doesn’t know if she could stomach jaime get married to someone else. and brienne wants to leave but she can’t stomach leaving bc she missed/misses him and if she has to suffer through his snipes and sarcasm she will she’s used to it and that’s better than not having him at all but she also can’t stomach of him being with someone else. brienne feels like she’s having the worst tummy ache known to man by how nervous she’s feeling throughout this au someone save my girl

in the end jaime catches her leaving at the final day of the tourney. there’s sunshowers btw to set the ~ mood ~. jaime is holding oathkeeper bc brienne left it at his room before leaving, and when he caught up with her she’s so very sad and despairing. brienne admits that she has to go bc she doesn’t want to see him betrothed to someone else and he’s like well!!! if you want something you just ask brienne! you have to tell me what you want!! and brienne is like 😭 I don’t want to leave you but I also don’t want to see someone else with you. IN MY HEAD this was more dramatic btw like just imagine that!! and they’re upset and frustrated and wet from the rain and shes kind of crying bc I loooove concepts where jb has the declaration of love but they’re SO upset by it like the thought of letting their feelings be acknowledged gives them the hives. anyway jaime is like don’t send me away then. Don’t return what I gave you and leave me. If you want me to stay, you must stay too. I walked away from you once. Don’t do the same mistake that I’ve done bc it rlly fucking hurts 😔😔😔 and then more stuff THEN kiss scene. But the important plot point IS —actually the reason why this au exists—is that brienne takes oathkeeper from jaime and uses it to propose to him!!! giving him oathkeeper bc in the weddings the cloaks are used as a symbol of protection but oathkeeper has protected her in the war so it’s only right that she gives it to protect him. but that’s it tbh the whole au is basically for that proposal idea in the end I love the idea that it’s going to be her asking, not him, she deserves to take that plunge and he’ll cheer her on 🤭🥳

also, the tourney proposal was never for him but for tyrion. i just imagine jaime was in the rock to sort out some things but after the tourney, he’ll give the rock to tyrion then head out to look for brienne and ask her to marry him but surprise she went to him first 🤭

plus, it’ll only take a little while, right? it isn’t like you’ll spend thirty more minutes writing a synopsis for a book you read for a friend who asked about it.

ten minutes later, your shoulder gets gently pushed. your eyes immediately trail to the owner of the hands and find aaron.

“i know, i know, i’m almost finished,” you say, going back to quickly typing on the keyboard of your laptop. you could feel aaron frown, his eyes still on your head.

“so, where are we going, y/n?” your friend beside you asks, lifting an eyebrow at you. it isn't their fault that they don't know about your adhd. only your close friends do, but they’re not here right now. and that makes this 10x worse.

“uhm… i don’t know,” you say with a shrug. saying i don’t know to things was always easier than making decisions. choosing made you panic, stressed, even though you didn’t know why.

“come on, y/n. you can’t just say i don’t know about this,” your other friend sighs, looking up at you from the floor. you nervously bite your lip, moving your feet around.

“well—i don’t really know places y’know? why don’t one of you guys choose?” you asked hopefully, hoping that they would spare you.

they didn’t.

“nope. it’s your turn to choose. we all chose,” the friend beside you says, shrugging nonchalantly. you begin to wish that aaron was there right now.

good thing that apparently, he’s a genie.

“you could just go to that cafe that just opened.” your friends turn to the voice who butted in, revealing aaron, leaning against the kitchen counter with his phone in hand.

“oh, yeah! i heard that it’s really good!” another friend butts in, smiling. the friend beside you frowns, looking at you. “are you sure you don’t want to choose this time? i mean we could let you choose—“

“no, no! it’s fine!”

you were pacing around your room with aaron sitting on your bed, watching you with a smile as you use your hands to exclaim your excitement about a new book you’ve read.

he always knew that books were one of your hyperfixations, and he never said no to you asking to buy piles of books.

“and then—oh my god—he literally smiled. like, he knew! he literally knew that he was going to win the case even though she worked so hard to collect—“ you cut off, trying to remember the word that you were going to use.

“uhm.. wait, what was the word—“

“proof?”

“yes! proof that he was a bastard and deserved to go to jail, but no! they just had to believe him over poor becca and nat who literally are in the fucking right! like, can you believe that?!” you rant, hitting your hand with your other hand in a chopping motion.

aaron lifts an eyebrow. “that sounds like the trial was flawed,” he says. words like that always came easy for him, which you never understood. you always had to think about easy words for some reason.

“it is! like, he’s literally so stupid and annoying—and—wait—and—irritating!” you groan, running a hand down your face.

aaron can’t help but chuckle at your aggression, hiding his smile with his hand. “shut up, aaron,” you deadpan.

“angel?” aaron asks curiously, looking at your rushed state. “wait.” you continue to write down on the paper quickly, knowing that the deadline is in five minutes.

“shit, i thought it was wednesday,” you rant to aaron, continuing to scribble down words. “did you forget again?” aaron asks, though it isn’t judgmental.

“yes,” you groan, sticking your hand in your hair so you can lay the side of your face on your palm. “literally, how is it thursday?”

aaron just signs before walking closer to you, putting a hand on your back, and beginning to rub it gently in a form of comfort.

“well, now you know it’s thursday. and, you’re almost finished. even if it’s past the deadline, you’ll be finished with it quickly. don’t worry, love,” he says softly.

you glance up at him before swallowing, nodding your head softly. “yeah, yeah. thank you, darling,” you mumble, calming down. though, you still slightly rush to get through the paper so it doesn’t get late.

anon is facing the classic dilemma of taob readers since the dawn of time (august 2020) and for once im gonna actually do something about it so i present unto you, artists of tumblr dot com, an exhaustive rundown of taob oc descriptions:

kanut: i feel like kanut is one whose appearance is pretty solidified now. he has white hair that falls down to the base of his back that he typically pulls back into a half-knot, with a short white beard. go grandpa go. he's described as generally having a 'rough' 'sea-faring' apperance bc he's one of those people that really doesnt give a fuck about appearance especially when it has nothing to do with his healing, so while he wears the typical water tribe clothing, he'll usually have his sleeves rolled up or stains on his tunic etc. he has blue eyes and isn't very muscled because he stays out of all combat due to being the healer, but he's one of the taller tribesmen. he has those scars on his hands that cover his palms and knuckles and quite sharp features.

chena: COLOSSAL freak of a man. like i wanted him to be comically large seeing as i was working with a kids show universe where shit like that happens, so zuko literally just stands past this man's ELBOW. fucking giganotosaurus rex. he's incredibly broad and muscled as well as just tall, very thick-necked and beefy face. like it's v important to me that chena's muscle isn't the streamlined, airbrushed kind; he's a total beefcake. he's COVERED in scars like he has a specific slit in his eyebrow that needs to be mentioned bc ZUKO GAVE IT HIM but aside that honestly go ham with the scars. his eyes are grey but more of a blueish grey, and he has dark brown hair that he does quite detailed braids in to pull back out of his face and fall down his back.

tomkin: he's v skinny/lanky and trying very hard to look bigger than he is. he wears his dark brown hair in a warrior's wolf tail and effectively looks like an older, less-burdened-by-The-Horrors version of sokka. he does tend to style the braid part of his wolftail to come out of his hair a little though instead of lying flat bc he thinks it makes him look taller (it doesn't). his eyes are a very light blue.

nanook: he has shoulder-length hair that's a light brown colour but ive realised some people mean 'nearly blonde' when they say light brown whereas i just meant 'not nearly black' like a lot of the other warriors. he wears a bead on one of the front strands and it usually falls so that it's sitting by his jaw. nanook is the tallest of the tom nook & ko trio and he's pretty toned but more in a 'has actually grown into himself' kind of way than a 'seasoned warrior' kind of way. he has a round face and generally looks very steady and calm. he has a birthmark on his hand (between his thumb and forefinger) that looks like a wave and he wears ivory bracelets on each wrist.

aput: IDC WHAT YOU DO WITH APUT BUT KNOW HE'S HOT. HE IS THE FIT ONE OF THE SWT. HE'S THEIR CASANOVA. MAKE HIM ATTRACTIVE OR DIE BY MY BLADE. he has black hair that falls to around shoulder length and he doesnt usually style it in any way, and he's the second burliest in the group. he's got a much more lean muscle than chena and it makes him quicker, so fighting-wise those two are almost evenly matched (chena just wins out though. pure aggression will get you everywhere). aput has a sharp jaw and deep blue eyes

tulok: he's the smallest of the adults and has brown hair that falls to the middle of his back. he usually just braided it back or wore it in a style very similar to korra's with the blue ribbons, but since shuhon prison he's been wearing it in an earth kingdom braid. he's easily the most put together of the group bc he has a real thing for keeping clean and tidy, so his clothes are always pristine and his personal grooming is always up to date.

tovah: she's incredibly tall and lithe with sleek, black hair that falls to her hips that she wears in a PERFECT ponytail like not a HAIR out of place. she's all sharp angles and narrowed green eyes and she tends to wear earth kingdom uniform. her skin is tanned and she doesn't visibly carry any weapons on her unless she's undercover in the army and they're military-issued.

"fine" I mumble continuing to walk cautiously gripping tighter onto my handgun, i didn't need much convincing to do things like these, Sam says it's because I can't go without a fight. I'd prefer life with a fight daily, sure, but I wouldn't be in a hydra base again if it wasn't for y/n. In the three or two nights that we had been doing this, I was able to memorise this place inside and out. Which surprised me considering I don't remember anything before five years ago.

Y/N's POV I sat down, nothing to do. There wasn't much to do without Bucky and Sam, they'd usually be the hosts and entertainers but without them I get bored. "Am I allowed out?" "if that's what you believe" he says "I'm asking you because you literally changed him, from Bucky to the Soldier" I respond "I just find it weird, without the machines and the serum you can't change a person but people say you can" I continue munching on my popcorn. "So what your saying is that you can only change another person when its forced, with machinery and weapons, but, you can't change them without those things" he says on the other side of the door. "yeah how does that even work like, changing someone where do you even start" I ask "Is this about Barnes?" he asks "I just said it wasn't" I respond harshly. "Well if he was the case, he was waiting for something different that's in my opinion. You can't change someone unless they want to change. They have to be willing." Zemo says "Thats cheap coming from the hydra guy" I chuckle "I suppose it is" he chuckles aswell. "but if it truly worries you, that you're changing him. You aren't." Zemo says reassuring me "You're not digging a hole whilst doing this are you?" I ask and he chuckles "No, there's nothing here to start with" He responds. "You sound on edge tonight" Zemo says "I am" I tap my fingers against the popcorn bowl "It was something John said to me years ago" I pause staring into the half eaten bowl of popcorn. i'll see you again, the next time it won't be pretty. It wasn't the kindest of words to end on especially since he barged in pretending to be Captain America. "what did he say?" Zemo asks "promise not to tell anyone" I mumble "sure" he responds. Zemo and I had built quite the friendship whilst Sam and Bucky were out, I don't know if it's cause it was forced or because he genuinely cares which I doubt. "i'll see you again, the next time won't be pretty" I say shoving my mouth full of popcorn "well he was right about that, what made you date him anyways?" Zemo asks. "i thought I loved him" I respond quickly "That was fast" Zemo chuckles "yeah well it's the truth, that's what I get for falling in love with an 18 year old at 15" I mumble finishing my popcorn. "do you want any food, I need to clean my popcorn bowl?" I ask "A bottle of water would be nice" he responded and I walk off. Coming back a few minutes later I unlock the door and Zemo's head falls on the floor and he sits up immediately "no warning?" he asks rubbing his head "I thought your escape hole would've been done, that's all" I shrug handing his bottle "i'll leave the door open" I sigh sitting against the wall opposite to the wardrobe. "do you trust me?" he asks and I shake my head "not one bit, but i still don't trust sam and bucky too much" I mumble playing with my ring "so why are you dating James?" Zemo says "because I'm in love him" I continue. I had no reason not to trust Bucky, he has told me the truth since the beginning, he's helped with my arm and he's helped me avoid the mental asylum. "but what is love without trust?" Zemo asks looking at me leaning against the wardrobe door. "fucking useless" I huff "have you told him that you're in love with him?" Zemo says continuing to ask questions as he adjusts his watch "I just told him that I had feelings" I say "it's not him that you don't trust then" Zemo says smugly and I roll my eyes. I hated that every night for the past 3 nights, Zemo had the answers to all my questions. Every night he knew what to say, although I hated it I was thankful that someone had some sort of understanding of what I was going through. "what was it like, controlling the winter soldier?" I ask him and he looks up "i felt powerful" he nodded

slowly "but did you feel bad, for controlling a human that was just as innocent and as kind as you once were" I ask and he shook his head. "no" he responds "no?" I ask "I didn't feel bad because we were using it for our benefit, I'd feel better about the loss of my family by taking Captain America's best friend the one man who was at fault of their deaths" he said calmly and I nod. "no remorse at all" I say and he nods "watch a movie?" I ask and he shrugs nodding. So Zemo and I walked over to the couch turning on the TV "you choose, you're the one that has to stay" I mumble handing him the remote. It's now 5am, Bucky and Sam had been gone all night, I guess I was expecting that since Sam told me. I hope they're alright though. I feel like something is happening. Maybe they need me? No, they're avengers. God I hope they are okay. James Barnes where are you? I know Sam said all night but I didn't think like ALL night. You better be alive. I walk around the house, waiting for something, a message, maybe even a car. Nothing happened, so, I continued to walk but as time went on I got stressed.

Bucky's POV My phone buzzed as my knee digs into the guys throat "they know where she is" the guy finally says "they know all about her" he continues and I remove my knee. "Who? Who do they know about?" I ask, Sam had found some more files and was on his way taking to the car. "Y/n Y/l/n" the guy says and my heart drops "How do they know about her?" I ask and he runs away, I run after him throwing a knife at his lower back and he collapses. "HOW DO THEY KNOW" I yell loud enough for anyone in the building to hear "Captain. America." He says holding the knife trying to pull it out. I stand on the knife so he couldn't pull it out "John Walker?" I ask "What did he say?" Calling her phone she picks up immediately "are you ok?" she asks before I hang up and Sam looks at me weirdly. Now I'm worried that what he said might be true, what if she was scared of me. I'm afraid, I don't want to lose her.

We got back just around 9am, it was early so I assume y/n would have fallen to sleep. Walking into the house I see her on the dining room table, Zemo asleep on the couch.

Even after i've opened up, you're still afrai"right" she says walking over taking the book out of my hand "what the fuck" she says looking down at me sitting on the bed, placing her hands on her hips "no fucking message, a random fucking call and you come home without saying hi?" Putting an old cassette tape in my walkman putting the headphones in my ear to block her out.

Y/N's POV I cannot believe him, I spent all night up waiting for him to block me out with music. "why do you think im afraid of you?" I sigh quietly basically talking to myself. I lean back onto the head board, looking down at Bucky blocking out the world, his back facing me. "get the fuck up" I punch his back gently yet he doesn't budge. I didn't want to cause a scene, I loved him more than anything so his anger must have had a valid reason behind it, I just wanted to know the reason, I sigh looking up at the roof "lord give me the strength" I mumble He then turns on his back gripping onto his walkman, I look down at him, his eyes already on me. "I know you can hear me" I mumble looking back up at the roof, "so i'll just talk" I sigh crossing my arms "Sam showed me the folder you got" I pause. "i wonder if his brain works sometimes, whether he's clocked that I'm dating him. I wonder whether he realise that if I wasn't afraid of him I wouldn't be here right now, trying to help him like he has done to me millions of times in the past three weeks i've known him for." I mumble. "I wonder, if he has realised how happy I am when I'm with him, how safe I feel when I'm in the same area as him. I wonder. Finally, I wonder what song he's listening to on that walkman" I laugh "Yours truly, y/n" I finish the entry off. He grabs my hand sitting up taking out his headphones, bringing my hand to his cut lips kissing it softly before letting go of it. "be my baby" he says "by the ronettes wow i expected something hardcore like arctic monkeys or something" I laugh at him and he chuckles "be my, be my baby, my one and only baby" I sing along and he laughs "so are you going to tell me?" I ask and he sighs rolling his eyes. "uh" he mumbles "the folder, i got it from a man." he said slowly "you didn't kill him right?" "John" he said before I stood up going for my bag again "we won't find him on time" Bucky says jumping out "Besides you're tired, I'm tired" he says reasoning "I should have let you kill him" I mumble searching through my bag. Pulling out my red knife getting up and turning around, Bucky snatches the knife out of my hand "sleep" he says and I roll my eyes.

u both had the biggest smiles and tears coming down ur faces while she slowly calmed down and u both carefully touched her

minho later watched you from the chair next to the bed, trying to feed her like the nurse taught u to do

he looked at u, silently asking you if he could help, you nodding and his hands slowly and carefully helped guide her to latch on

he was takin n o t e s from these nurses

she looked so comfortable n he was just amazed at you he couldn’t believe you created something so perfect, this tiny little girl was your person

so anyways have a weird pseudo-meta on the 239894 ways levi’s character could’ve been better used story-wise

tbh i do believe yams had it in him to write a nice, tight, cohesive story where everything could’ve fallen in place well enough -- at least to the point where actions made sense with reference to established character personalities and arcs within the story. i have no issue with regression, but you can’t make it half-assed or just. entirely left-field and leave it at that and ok moral of the story i’m like, 90% sure come from being far too invested in the fandom as an author. this could’ve also just. so naturally shifted the tension in mikasa’s direction. literally everyone instinctively has mikasa jotted down as second-best-next-to-levi, both in and out of canon. it would make sense for other characters to just eye awkwardly in deciding mikasa ‘has’ to be the next one to try through the framing bias that presents. 

right now it’s like it’s not even her choice but everyone decided it would be for no goddamn reason. why does mikasa need to be ok with killing eren at all??? why cant one of YALL do it????????? and like mikasa kills him but then presents absolutely no real conclusion in doing so. we get 0 insight into what’s really going on in her head and WE DONT EVEN GET TO SEE IT !!!!!!!!!!

aka Virgil’s terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week

so this is like half bullet fic half outline half word vomit but here it is!

this is based on a set of art drawn by @greenninjagal-blog that you can find here with the original version of this au

this got SUPER LONG so its going under a cut

ok lets start with

virgil

his world is medieval-with-magic

the magic here tends to take on different elemental forms depending on the user

people who use magic are called witches

his is storm based (lightning, rain, wind, etc) and is good for both offense (shooting fucking LIGHTNING at someone is great in a fight) and gardening (the ability to call rain at will is pretty nice)

he can also make potions but in his world ANYONE with magic can make potions

the thing is,,,,, magic is illegal in the kingdom he lives in

so when he found out he had magic at like age 11 he fucked off in the middle of the night

he found another witch (a water witch) fairly soon after he left and they taught him how to control his powers and how to make potions

also how to hunt bc hed planned on living out of cities

5 years later hes 16 and has learned all he could and leaves to go to the woods in the middle of nowhere

his teacher had told him about a cottage they had built in a clearing in the woods and said he could go there bc they were leaving the kingdom

they left behind a lot of books on magic and he learned more reading those

the cottage was actually in pretty good shape? the roof was a little leaky but the furniture inside was fine

the outside was a nightmare though. overgrown plants all over

as the years went on he restored the area around the cottage and found a bunch of neat stuff

like a vegetable garden that had been overgrown and wild but still had healthy plants he could cultivate for food. there were also some spice plants that had gone out of control that he harvested and dried for later use

he found out the woods around his home were full of berries (wild strawberries and blackberries. shhhhhh idc if they dont grow in the same places this is a Magic World) and discovered that one of the trees in the clearing was actually an apple tree so yay fruit!!!!

so he was living the good life

cut to 3 years later

hes 19 now and a full-blown weather witch and potion maker

he has sectioned off his garden into 3 parts: spices, vegetables, and potions ingredients

unfortunately some ingredients just wont grow well in a garden and have to be harvested from the wild

virgil realizes hes running low on a couple of said ingredients and decides to make a run to the patches of potion herbs he knows of

he only gets halfway there

a swirling blue-and-yellow vortex opens up 20 feet in the air to the right of him and something falls out

something human shaped

holy shit its a PERSON

he rushes over to make sure this person is okay and.

they have reddish brown fox ears?????

and a reddish brown and grey tail????????

he pokes one of the ears and it twitches

holy shit theyre REAL????!!!!!!!!!

he gathers up this person and takes them home

he puts the strange person in his bed and tends to the minor injuries they obtained from falling 20 feet

this is when he realizes that this person is dressed,,,,,, very strangely

now, people in virgil’s world have some freedom in what they can wear. they can wear whatever the FUCK they want. virgil is partial to dresses and skirts himself

but what this person is wearing is different. the material was like nothing hed ever seen before and in a strange style

(it suits him. its really cute)

he slept for a little over 9 hours

(virgil slept on the floor)

and when he woke he was disoriented and woozy

so he ate a small meal and drank some water and fell back to sleep for another couple hours

when he wakes again, he feels much better and is able to introduce himself

“I’m Patton Baker! Where am I?”

his world is like if you took every single magical girl/boy anime out there and mashed it into one world.

so its chaotic

theres aliens/demons/monsters attacking every other week

this attracts magical creatures like a magnet and they start giving magical girls/boys powers. these are called magical guardians

these people are public figures and are treated the same way idols are in our world (not allowed boyfriends/girlfriends etc)

its a tough job

patton became a magical boy when he was 14 and has been for the past 3 years

the powers his magical guardian are able to give are based off of endangered or threatened animals (yes im sort of copying tokyo mew mew shhhhhhhhhh)

patton became infused with the dna of the island fox

his transformation is triggered by a small tattoo-like marking given to him by his guardian. it’s on the base of his neck

he Absolutely has a magical girl transformation

when he’s transformed, he has the ears and tail of an island fox as well as claw-like nails. his hair is the reddish-brown of the fox and his eyes are silver

his outfit is light blue with silver and white accents and dark blue sleeves

when detransformed he has blond hair and blue eyes

his magical boy weapon is a bow that he can shoot arrows of light from

his group was based out of florida and has been going strong for about 15 years. magical teens come and go as they gain their powers and retire or, tragically, lose their lives fighting

at the moment there are six people including patton

their most recent foe is a monster that has the ability to make people and things disappear, and they’re not sure what happens to them

theyre fighting this thing at night when it happens. the creature has already taken the streetlights out and the teens are fighting in heavy darkness. patton, who has better night vision due to his fox genes, sees the monster about to grab the leader, and strongest, of their group

and he makes a choice

he pushes her out of the way and gets grabbed by the monster instead.

there’s a single moment of searing pain and then the world dissolves into swirling lights and dizziness

when he wakes he’s in a strange house. he introduces himself and the person who’s taking care of him introduces himself

he’s told he fell out of some sort of portal and virgil tries to help him figure out where he is in relation to his home but. virgil doesnt recognize any of the places patton is talking about. and patton doesnt recognize any of the ones virgil says

virgil asks patton about the fact that He Is Part Fox and patton talks about the magical system back home and thats when they realize theyre dealing with dimension travel

patton stays in bed for the rest of the day and by the next hes feeling much better! so he helps virgil around the house and they get to know each other

the day after that, virgil remembers that he really needs those herbs, so he tells pat hes going out for a bit to gather them

he gets about a quarter of the way there when Another Portal Opens and dumps out a person. this time right in front of him

this person is also wearing odd

clothing, but in a different style than pattons

he checks to make sure theyre not injured (they knocked their head a bit but other than that seem fine) and carries them back home

the person is unconscious in virgil’s bed for a couple of hours longer than patton was, but he wakes up entirely coherent

he introduces himself as “logan croft”

logan

his world is one full of magic

magical creatures of all sorts live there and magic is a welcome part of society

there’s elves, fairies, merfolk, unicorns, any you can think of

magical schools are also big parts of it

people who have mastered their magic to the highest degree are called mages

everyone else are called wizards

the way magic works in this world is with spells (think harry potter but without wands)

some people are born with more magic than others and as such have a harder time controlling it when it manifests at around 10

so theyre sent to magic schools where they learn how to safely do so

if they want to stay at these schools after they learn control then they move on to higher forms of magical education to continue learning

logan is one of these students

he was born with a MASSIVE amount of magic and when it manifested he. accidentally leveled his house

everyone was fine!!!!!!! but the poor boy had absolutely no control

so he stayed at a school for people with high amounts of magic and by the time he was 13 he had enough control to leave if he wanted to

of course this being logan he Absolutely wanted to keep learning so he moved on

he was so good actually that he ended up in the best magic academy in the world

he consistently learned magic at a faster rate than his peers and so by the time he was 18 (people normally didnt until they were like 21/22) he was a mage in all but name

so he was ready to take his mage exam

the mage exam is considered both easy and the hardest and most dangerous thing you could do

its easy in the fact that you only have to cast a spell correctly

its hard and dangerous bc its a spell that NO ONE outside of historians have ever seen before and you only have 10 minutes to memorize it. things go wrong Frequently

needless to say there arent many mages and people tend to either quit before reaching that stage or fail

and failure can be painful

so logan decides to take the mage exam

the spell they are given is a long string of words dug out of an ancient book of spells and historians arent entirely sure what it does

so ofc its given to the best in the academy

logan takes his ten minutes to memorize the spell and begins chanting

now in this world, when spells are used a runic circle made of light appears under the person casting

small spells have small circles and bigger spells have larger and brighter ones

the one this spell called forwards was massive and so bright that it blinded the exam practitioners (i think thats the word?)

when the light died down logan was gone

theyre unsure whether it went right or wrong but unfortunately theres no trace of where logan had gone so theres no way to see

when he wakes hes somewhere he doesnt recognize and is being taken care of by two people

they all introduce themselves and logan gets the story about what happened to him

and he realizes hes in a different dimension with different magical rules

naturally he wants to learn everything

so he and virgil have long discussions about the differences in their magic systems

(with patton chiming in every once in a while with how bonkers magical girl powers are)

after logan gets back on his feet virgil really REALLY needs those herbs and so he decides to go back out

logan tags along this time bc he wants to see the differences between the flora and fauna of this new world

they get about half way there and once again.

a portal opens

its light blue and yellow

virgil goes “jesus christ AGAIN??????? am i a MAGNET for these things??????????”

and a person falls out

theyre another animal person. this time with scales covering the side of their face and down their arms

virgil and logan carry this whole other person back home and as soon as they walk in

patton is like “janus????!!!!!”

janus

turns out

janus is from pat’s world!!!! and the same mg group!!!!!

he became a magical boy about a year before pat did and was merged with the dna of a golden lancehead viper

so hes been a mg for like 4 years

his outfit is white with yellow bows and a black cape thing with a yellow inside. his scales are bright yellow and his eyes are heterochromatic. one is a normal eye (brown) and the other is a bright gold color with a snake-like pupil

his marking is on the inside of his left wrist

his weapon is a set of knives made of light that he can call at will and either slash with or throw

he and patton got along rather well in the current time

in the past, they,,,, didnt

it wasnt violent but they were kinda snippy at each other and janus was aggressively sarcastic which pat Did Not Appreciate

but after working together for a few years they got to know each other better and saw each other through low points in their lives and became close

janus was still a sarcastic little shit but now its more playful

he likes to suggest “pushing it down a flight of stairs” for any problem

“man i have a big math test tomorrow with a mean teacher that i didnt study for im screwed”

“push it down the stairs”

“the teacher or the test?”

“yes”

he will also aggressively remind you that Self Care Is Good And Needed

(“patton youve been patrolling for hours every night this week. go sleep”

“but i-“

“go 👏 to 👏 sleep 👏”

“bu-“

“go sleep or im going to knock you unconscious and THEN youll sleep”

“ok fine”)

anyways the dimension monster came back and despite the whole group being more careful, it got janus

luckily (to every one else) this time they managed to defeat it

once again, the pain of dimensional travel fucking SUCKED and janus was unconscious for about as long as patton was

he woke and ate a small meal and fell back asleep for like an hour

when he woke up that time he was shocked and happy to see patton

they reunite and everyone gets to know each other over the next couple days

and then virgil remembers that he STILL HASNT GOTTEN HIS HERBS and they all decide to tag along when he leaves to get them

virgil just like sighs and said “nothing better happen this time i swear to god-“

and they make it most of the way there!!!!! virgil feels a little hope!!!!

then another portal opens

its red and green

(virgil: “GODDAMMIT”)

this time TWO people fall out

the group gather up the two portal people and take them home to heal bc

holy shit they are in bad condition

theyre unconscious for a solid 2 days

Roman and remus

their world is BAD yall

the world is very scientifically advanced, and a group if scientists decided that they wanted to prove the existence of alternate universes

and they did!

but they accidentally opened a portal to a hell dimension and they couldnt close it

so the whole world became an apocalyptic nightmare

this happened when the twins were 15

theyve been surviving on their own in an apocalyptic hellscape for just over 4 years now

remus is the close range fighter with a variety of Large Sharp Knives and roman hangs back and snipes the ones going in for remus’ blind spots with a modified rifle. or if he has to fight closer range he has a modified pistol

roman also is the one to carry their medical supplies bc remus did Once and never will again

they travel together bc even though they cant stand each other some days (remus makes gross comments a Lot and roman likes to complain about the lack of conditioner)

(roman once found an old bottle of perfume and dumped it on remus’ head. in retaliation, when they were relatively safe remus found a dead squirrel and chased roman around with it for a solid 15 minutes)

theyre still twins and theyre all each other have left

currently, roman and remus are running from a creature that caught them off guard while they were sleeping

it had managed to get a few good hits on them before they managed to fight back so they both have a couple injuries

roman has a long slice down his arm and remus has some real bad claw marks down his back

the two of them find a building they can hide in while they wait for the creature to move on and discover that its some sort of science lab

they decide to explore for a bit bc they have 0 braincells between the two of them

what they dont realize is that this is one of the labs that the scientists were using to build their dimensional machines

what they do realize is that the monster found them and it starts chasing them through the facility

the two of them are in really bad shape

malnourished after living on just what they can find for 4 years, both bleeding profusely from open wounds and various injuries from other run-ins with the creatures

they arent able to run as fast as they usually are able and so they get cornered in a room with a large machine

they back up to it to stay away as long as they can and

one of them presses a button

the machine behind them whirrs to life and the two are sucked into a portal oh so similar to the one that ruined the lives of everyone on their world

roman wakes first

he wasnt hurt as badly as remus so the portal didnt take as much out of him as remus

everyone introduces themselves and roman has the his first full meal in. a long time

(he might cry a lil bit but shhhhhhh)

and now that hes awake, virgil can give him a potion to help speed up his healing

thats when romans like “holy shit MAGIC?????”

bc there was none on his world

and they all talk and get to know each other

(the other four are Horrified at how awful his world was

bc like, patton and janus’ wasnt very good either but it wasnt an apocalypse

the next day virgil leaves logan in charge and FINALLY goes and gets his GODDAMN HERBS

nothing happens this time :)

and when he gets back remus is awake

hes fed and virgil gets him a potion too

the two heal and just kind of marvel at the fact theyre safe for the first time in years

also that theres GODDAMN MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!

they still can’t believe theres actual magic

the five dimension hoppers eventually meet thomas, virgil’s talking magic cat

(virgil: “he can think and talk like a human hes not my cat”

thomas: “im totally your cat stop denying it”)

he decided to wander around the forest for a while (he does this often) and only got back after all of the portal shit ended

he is the only cat with magic and says he ALSO fell out of a portal but it was a few years before he met virgil

i dont really know what happens after this

maybe they go try to figure out how to get home?

maybe they decide to stay and live in the woods for the rest of their lives

 maybe they decide “you know what? FUCK the government” and stage a coup to make magic legal

 whichever it is definitely has a lot of found family goodness

I’m 165cm tall and have black hair and almost black, brown eyes. I’m really shy around new people and might seem a bit emotionless and cold. Yay social awkwardness. I am not good at small talk or any kind of talking with people that are at least close acquaintances. It can take a bit for me to warm up to people, but once I do, you can’t get rid of me. I’m very loyal to those I care about and will always have a listening ear. With close friends, I can get a bit more talkative and open. People get surprised when they see me with friends because I seem like a totally different person. My favourite colours are black, blue, and grey/silver and my favourite animal used to be butterflies as a kid, but I don’t have one now. I love to cook and bake, especially for other people. Going through the motions is really de-stressing to me and it makes me happy when they like what I made. Funnily enough, while I do cook a lot, I don’t have a favourite food, but I’m a bit partial to anything sweet. I’m constantly experimenting with things, not only cooking. I like trying out new things and seeing new places. I am naturally very curious of things, though I won’t really go out my way to try discovering things. I have a lot of hobbies and interests (and not enough time to do everything I want to try and learn), reading, drawing, photography, archery, fencing, badminton, making accessories and beading are some of them. Things I dislike are spiders, rude and selfish people. I have not been in a relationship before, but I think that to me spending time with people I care about is important; it doesn’t matter if we’re both doing different things or if we’re having discussions about topics that interests both. I think that I’d prefer someone who is very patient and open to try things with me. Also, I would hope they don’t mind trying all the food I make as gifting food is my love language next to doing things for them.
