Not a lot has changed of his Friday evenings - Jake had promised it wouldn’t but, then again, how’s one supposed to believe in anything their best friend promises when they’ve just started going steady with someone? He doesn’t look over at them a lot (because he didn’t need to see his kissy face again, thank-you-very-much, but just to gauge how far away the popcorn bowl is. His eyes do catch Gwyn’s for a moment and she smiles in that blissfully delighted way that she’s taken to doing ever since Jake’s arms found their way around her. They’re kind of cute, in a way.
Liam sighs to himself, his attention turning back towards the screen in front of them, and the movie that his best-friend ‘totally’ chose. Out of his own free-will. The snort is there, but he keeps it back for Jake’s sake. After all, he knows his friend would do the same for him. And at least the hero’s daughter is pretty darn cute, herself.
Becca had grabbed him by the arm and promptly deposited him in a room filled with women. This wasn’t new behavior on her part, but it was much more alarming when a quick search revealed Tucker was not around - and Tucker was usually the reason her grip on him loosened. Lucas was used from going to one crutch to the other, at least in situations where strangers outnumbered them so greatly. Specially when so many of those strangers were of the opposite sex... and with a veiled interest in just who the members of Epilogue were.
(As if he had any influence on who was picked and who wasn’t - or who would get more screentime than anyone else)
He wasn’t entirely aware that he just happened to be standing there with a blank stare, his gaze mostly unfocused, until something moved just within his eyesight. Then again. Shaking off that stupor was much more easily said than done, of course, all sounds in the room returning with an overwhelming loudness. He meant to signal someone for a way out, away from everyone else, before his eyes caught that movement one more time. He stared, this time with more focus, at the small brunette dancer showing off a pirouette - or whatever it’s technical name was.
(His cheeks flushed slightly, breathing becoming easier the longer he thought about it)
And it was alright. Somehow. Or it would soon turn out to be, anyhow.
He was handsome. Unfortunately, the cameras hadn’t been lying to her as she’d hoped they would’ve. Then again, she’d faced worse things, and she would probably see much more worse ones than an attractive baseball player.
It would probably be just a tad easier if he wasn’t so aware of his attractiveness, however, or so confident on his own honed skills. If beggars could be choosers. She was about to have her work cut-out for her. It was a good thing challenges had never scared her.
Delilah made her way further into the room, bypassing a person or two that might have tried to speak with her, and gingerly held her wineglass filled with water in one hand as she zeroed-in on her newest assignment. Something in her stomach lurched (bad appetizers?), her steps faltering, the moment his head turned in her direction and their eyes met.
There was a decent amount of waitresses pulling their weight on what had already started out as a blessedly active shift. People waiting to be seated, people waiting on their menus, even those that were simply loitering. The last group were somewhat his least favorite but, then again, he wasn’t the one counting on their tips. And, in some scenarios, all the waiting around for them to clear out wasn’t even worth the percentage they’d deemed appropriate to tip, after all.
Halfway tuning in to a comment by one of his favorite members of the staff, his focus otherwise taken by the neat row of dessert samples he happened to be flambéing, he caught the tail end of something about giving back a $100 to some deluded tourist. Of some sort. Tee did have an inkling for dramatization when she was incensed - which happened to be most of the time.
Ryan kept the soft smile on his face as he turned slightly to look at her - the one she’d mentioned made her look at him like a younger sibling - the gesture one of self-satisfaction after a job well-done. Her hand touched the back of his head - she was too short to reach the top, him too tall - and she was out towards the waiting guests again. He was curious enough to peek outside as a new group was ushered in - his jaw dropping open at the not-entirely-unfamiliar sight of young, college-aged women. And at one particular blonde beauty, smiling and laughing with her friends.
There was fairly little he could do to meet her - fairly little but for the smallest of touches he could add to her meal. All in hopes that she would stay long enough for dessert, of course.
Her sisters would probably not be too proud of her for falling into that gap.
That was to say, they had all done the exact same thing they’d warned her off doing. It was to be expected, what with being the youngest of six, the one that all of the others took turns babying, protecting, safeguarding. Penny was very much aware of just how much she owed them, of course, not the least of which being her current first steps into college.
Of course, without her own hard work, she’d never have stepped a foot inside there, but... still. They’d all pitched in, one way or another. She had written down as much in her essay (and then made sure not one of them could get their hands on it before she sent it out).
Following her roommate into a sports game had seemed the perfect way to close one of her first weekends away from home, as an adult with their own choices and opinions and whatnot. That the sport just so happened to be one of the most violent options around them was unfortunate, of course, but after the initial shock, she’d begun to appreciate it for what it was. Even if it was happening on her sacred ice - it was another form of art, all on its own.
It included even the ones that became the rowdiest, arguing every inch that they gave and they took, both physically and (from what little one could gather from afar) verbally. Her brain made a mental note of one that almost seemed smaller than the rest, but much more refined in his movements. Penny let out a small gasp, her eyes committing the name ‘Bradley’ to her memory for the time being.
