Now Playing: An Art Gallery Could Never Be As Unique As You
Very VERY VERYYYY fascinated on what you do, he thinks it's really cool
He canonly likes art too so let him join in!!
Draw him in any way like even a small doodle and he WILL COMBUST
He decorated his wall infront of his desk with your drawings and doodles, other things like custom keychains, origami, glass paintings are on his desk so he can see it everyday when he wakes up 🥹🥹
Study dates with you two often end up in drawing-cuddling sessions
Starting with studying so you can both pass your exams to you two beside eachother, legs tangled under the kotatsu table while you both lay on your stomachs, drawing whatever you felt like drawing 🫶
Let's just hope that you both pass your exams 😭😭
When you have art block or you feel stressed, he offers to take you out to a walk (yk he loves those esp with you)
It may seem kinda annoying at first but trust me, it does WONDERS
YOUR WORKS ARE DISPLAYED THROUGHOUT THE ISAGI HOUSEHOLD ✨
His parents like your creations too but they ALWAYS remind you whenever you come over that it's okay to take breaks and do other things 🥹💖
He's not rich by all means, but he's willing to spend his money to get you supplies u want
When he got the letter for blue lock, you both agreed to meet at a park at night and you talked things through, promising to work hard and improve while you both are separated
Whenever the topic of art or s/o comes in, he just ends up talking everyones ear off in blue lock and the question was just from a truth or dare game😭
Whether or not you got recognized for your art and got more commissions/promotions or quit art to start something new that interests you, he's supportive just as you are for him 🫶
HE LOVES ART, AND YOUR AN ARTIST?? MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN
Introduces you to his mom <33 you both share tips and tricks and now she's like your teacher ITS SO CUTE
But Meguru gets pretty pouty if you just sit there beside his mom talking about art related things all day 😭
If you let him lay down on your lap and give him occasional kisses then he'll be able to sit still for a while longer
You gave him a bee-themed soccer ball you painted once and he ALWAYS has it on his bed so he can fall asleep hugging it 🥹
He doesn't play with it tho, atleast not outdoors bcs he doesn't wanna ruin it 😭💖
Painting with him and his mom if she isn't busy!!
He always plays around and puts paint on your face, his mom scolds him for it LMAOO
Don't take him to art museums pls 😭😭 HAVE YOU SEEN HOW HE WAS IN THE LIGHT NOVEL?? you both would get in trouble just because he was bored 💀
BRAGS TO EVERYONE AND ANYONE IN BLUE LOCK ABOUT YOU THAT THEY LITERALLY KNOW YOU AND EVERY SINGLE ART PIECE YOU HAVE DONE BEFORE EVEN MEETING YOU OR SEEING THEM 💀💀😭
Has tried to eat paint before 🧍♂️Much worse if you paint food then bro might try it again 💀💀💀
You sit on a bench nearby and draw while he practices, it's relaxing, just watch out for the ball 😭💀
Oh boy
Id say for a FACT that you were broke until you started dating him unless you have really cheap materials or you're just really good at saving
Yk how art materials and art school is so ridiculously expensive?? Well, your LOVELY boyfriend here has it all covered
Mans literally already bought a whole art shop 💀
Its not like it's anything new *looks at art big art studio*
PLEASE get a frying pan and smack some sense into this man's head bcs he was just about to buy his way into getting your art showcased in an art gallery/convention
He might, MIGHT stop if you use his own words against him. Like the whole 'i want to carve my own future' thing
Lets be fr, he won't stop, the most he could do is stop bribing his way to get your art showcased
Bby supports you alot tho :((
He just admires how much effort you're able to put in each work
When art block kicks in, he'll take you to go to expensive art galleries or to wherever the Mona Lisa is currently being showcased at
Just drag him out and tell him u wanna learn soccer 😭 it's honestly more fun than roaming around an art gallery
Paint him with his parents and they'll already start planning your marriage 💀😭
Bro when collage comes along, then your tuition fees and apartment bills are already paid like??? I wonder how 🤔
PLS DRAW HIM AND SHOW HIM THAT THERE ARE OTHER WAYS TO EXPRESS LOVE OTHER THAN MONEY SPENDING BCS HE'LL ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND WITH ALL THE TIME, EFFORT AND SKILL YOU PUT IN
He DEFINITELY frames all the drawings/paintings you give him. No buts
Let's be fr, he probably has a room in his house filled with your creations 🧍♂️
I'm pretty sure that blue lock allows anything to be brought unless it's a phone or something (because they'll have to earn it back) so Reo brought this photo album/journal decorated by you and/or your drawings
AND YK THOSE MINI PRINTERS??? HE BROUGHT ONE TOO SO WHENEVER YOU SEND A NEW ARTWORK, HE PRINTS IT 😭😭
Talks Nagi's ear off every time 💀
Supportive bank in general 👍 jkjk pls don't use him just for money or I will come for your eyeballs 🤗
Sae is pretty chill compared to his hardcore emo brother like did you see that one panel where he wanted to go home in the middle of a game while applying lotion???
He doesn't seem like the type to check social media often too so I hc that he draws after practices when he gets home to cool down for the night yk
I can definitely see him drawing his favorite characters from Chibi Maruko-chan whenever he feels stressed or has a bad day because of his stupid teammates who play like headless chickens 🙄(his words not mine)
So like when YOU came in, it's like he's surrounded by comfort when you two draw in silence while listening to your shared playlist 🌼
drawing fanarts for him that you wanna show off to everyone since he's beautiful and he's even more beautiful in your artstyle <33
he doesnt know about it tho because thats too embarrassing
rin follows you on that account with his private acc LMAOOOOOO
LISTEN. IMAGINE DRAWING HIM WITH HIS YEE YEE LOOKIN ASS BANGS AND TEASING HIM ABOUT IT HAHAHSHAHA
you secretly sent one to Rin for funsies once and he sent you a pic of Sae when he was young back, now you both have this sketchy deal thing going on that Sae doesnt know SHIT about
dw tho, both your mouths are sealed because now you got Rin to approve of you
If you live with him abroad, then your apartment/house is FILLED with notes/drawings/sketches/paintings/origamis, etc. im not exaggerating at ALL.
Imagine those cute and decorated fridges but make it the ENTIRE house
You both just slap some sticky note on walls, tables, chairs, cabinets, shelves, counters and draw on it,and neither of you clean them up, you just leave it there 😭😭
it comes off when it comes off ig 🤷
If you dont live with him abroad, then you guys have a minecraft server you both share thats literally FILLED with builds. Somehow, Sae's RIDICULOUSLY fast at learning these things and now hes an architect 🧍♂️
Also those cooperative drawing websites/games?? yeah, you both have them OFTEN, like, every night other than when hes like SUPER tired
just stick to screenshoting him and drawing on his face
He buys you anything you need/want too and theres basically no stopping him 🤷🤷

hello!!! ive never really made a post like this before so if i make mistakes please let me know..
my name is rubin and im an 18 year old nonbinary person who is trying to save up to leave a dysfunctional household; many friends know that my family life takes a great toll on me and i have developed/been diagnosed with PTSD due to witnessing domestic violence, witnessing/experiencing emotional abuse over a course of many years, and just generally being surrounded by a lot of stress and unhealthy relationships that doesn’t show any sign of stopping soon.
as you may imagine it is difficult to recover from this PTSD when i am still in the environment that caused it.. on top of this i have been trying to recover from autoimmune diseases and reoccurring infections (ear, strep, mrsa, etc) and i need medication and visiting multiple specialists to get this under control
so i am trying to save up to potentially move out to live with my partner and his mom (if all goes to plan) sometime this year.. so i am trying to save up in advance..i’m trying to save up for namely:
moving costs
future doctor appointments (endocrinologist, otorhinolaryngologist, gastrointestinal, psychiatrist) and any exams and tests i may need
getting a car
food (i have severe celiac and other (medical) diet restrictions and this makes food and grocery shopping a bit more complicated and expensive)
however, i may have to use some money unrelated to moving, for the following reasons:
if my mom, siblings and/or i need respite for the night from my father (hotel)
current doctor appointments, current prescription costs, and rent, as id like to help my mother with these costs as we don’t have very much money and rent is ridiculously high
generally any sudden financial or medical emergencies that i may not be able to predict at the moment
im very nervous making this post and opening up about my family life as it is something that causes me great distress, and this is not urgent as of right now, but any support at all would mean the world to me, and when i am not so sick i will try to open commissions as well; you can see examples of my art at @ ephemoonart on twitter!
i really want to be able to recover and not live in so much fear and do what i love, which is making art
thank you so much if you read this far, i know this is a lot so please dont feel pressured to donate but even just sharing this would mean a lot to me!!!! i hope you have a good day!!!!!

St. Patrick
Spinner (Shuichi Iguchi) X Fem!Reader
A/N: ‘St. Patrick’ by PVRIS goes really well with this fic, enjoy!
Commission for @dittomckiddo
Summary: It’s a miracle that you had been saved from an oncoming car. Plus, it also led to you meeting the guy of your dreams, one you’d never expect. After offering your services as a masseuse to him in return, you both end up growing close and come to realize the purpose in each other’s lives.
Warnings: Smut (18+), cussing, reader has a vibration quirk, meet cute, strangers to lovers, first time, tending wounds, praise kink, body worship, oral (giving/recieving), double penetration
Word Count: 7.5k
The cement of the sidewalk crunched under your work shoes on your way to the luxury spa in the middle of the city. The sun is just about to come over the horizon to break in the morning. Even though it was early, many people in your area usually came to open their stores and restaurants. Every morning you’d pass by the familiar donut shop owner who turns on their Open sign to start their day. Lugging your bag over your shoulder, which contains your spa uniform and toiletries, you walk block after block while half asleep.
You’ve always been in love with your job having the quirk that you do. It has made your life rewarding to be able to help people through your birth given trait. However, walking alone before sunrise to prepare the spa for clients every morning can feel redundant.
You walk along the same trail, the same path… make a right there, make a left here, and cross this street. Nothing ever changes, you think as you step out off the curb— Honk!
“Ah!”
“Ain’t watching the road, asshole?” the man holding you yells at the trunk of the speeding car escaping down the street.
You push yourself back into his chest into a hug with your arms thrown around his neck. “Thank you! Thank you, thank you. You saved me,” you squeal. “I can’t believe I wasn’t watching.”
Pulling away, you notice the flustered look in his expression as he looks around the rest of the block for something or someone. He mumbles something about “the morning” before trying to walk away.
“Uhm, wait! I feel like I need to repay you somehow.” The zipper of your bag is swiftly opened and you rummage through your belongings while he turns back to you.
He tries to stop you by placing a hand on yours but quickly pulls it away. “No, no, I don’t need your money—,” You pull out a small white slip of card stock from the bag and hold it out for him to take. “What’s this?”
“My business card! My name's Y/N, I’m a masseuse at the spa down there,” you point near the end of the street at the glass doors to your store. “I’d like to give you a free massage in return for helping me out.”
“You want me to call you?”
“Yeah, we can set up a session.”
“Fine.” He slides the card into his back pocket. “Just, don’t get hit by any cars on the rest of the way there. I gotta go.” He pulls his hood further down his face and shoves his fists into the front of his jeans.
“I won’t! Bye!” You watch as he quickly makes his way to a nearby alley.
—
The most gorgeous girl flung herself into my arms… and in front of everyone. I can’t believe I didn’t ask her name myself or give her my number. But, I had to get out of there. Damnit.
He reads off the business card you’d handed to him while laying in bed the same night you had met, F/N L/N, Professional Masseuse for the City Spa. Phone number and email...
Fuck it. It's a free session, she was nice to me, and my body hurts like hell.
You lay watching a movie and mindlessly scrolling through your phone near midnight. Tapping through your different social accounts, your phone vibrates and your screen darkens. The Caller ID ‘Unknown’ is written in white lettering across the top.
You tap on the answer button quickly, silently hoping it would be a call from the interesting man you gave your card to earlier that day.
Bringing your phone up to your ear, you wait for a moment in silence before speaking up yourself. “Uhm, hello?”
“Uh, hi, hey.” A deep, gruff voice comes to your ear. ”It's the guy you gave your business card to earlier today. Sorry, I was kinda nervous to call.” He explains. “Call me Shuichi, by the way.”
“Hey! It’s no problem, Shuichi. How has your night been?”
“Uhm, good?” He questions. “I just wanted to call to let you know I’d like to take you up on your free massage thing? It might be an inconvenience, though, uh I can't really— I mean, I don't really like going out. That’s why I left you so quickly this morning.”
“Oh! Well, it’s fine. I understand. The whole point of my job is to make people feel comfortable, so how about we do the session at your place? I can bring my massage table and everything else!”
Fuck. “No! No, uh, I mean. I have roommates and, uh, I don't know how they would feel about me bringing in a stranger.” Yeah, that's it.
“Hm, well I wouldn't mind you coming over to my place then? If you're fine with that?”
“Yeah! Good, that sounds good. Uhm, do I need to bring anything?” Her place?
“Nope! Just bring yourself on over. How does tomorrow evening sound? I can send you the exact time and place through text.”
“That sounds good then. I'll see you, uh, Y/N.”
“Great! Goodnight, Shuichi. Uhm, thank you… again.”
“That was nothing but, uh, you're welcome. Have a good one.”
The soft crackling ambiance of his location and voice cut out as he hangs up. You sigh before pulling the covers over yourself and getting really to rest up for tomorrow’s venture.
—
You had set up the massage table in the living room that morning. Right now, it’s about fifteen minutes until your new ‘client Shuichi would arrive at your door. You scurry around your apartment preparing warm face towels and pulling his robe out of the drier. You’d spent your time creating the right amount of mood lighting in the space you have using lavender-scented candles. You dressed in a clean pair of the usual massage uniform you wear for work. It’s a white top that wraps with a tie in the front and a pair of comfortable white linen pants.
Your stomach turned over on itself several times waiting for him to arrive. You want to make his session as amazing as possible, even though it's for free. He had saved your life.
You roll up the warm towels on the decorative side table in your living space and fold the plush robe to place on the sink in the bathroom. You check your phone seeing you have five minutes until he could show up at your place.
The second you pocket your phone in your pants, you hear three knocks at your front door. “He’s early.” Ok, relax. “Coming!”
You rush to the door from the bathroom and brush down the front of your shirt before opening the door with a smile.
Shuichi stands there with his elbow against the door frame with his head covered with a hoodie. When he notices you standing there, his arm falls from the door nearly knocking him out of balance.
“Hey, Y/N.”
“Hey! Come on in,” you wave him inside to lead him to the small foyer. “You can take off your shoes here.”
“No problem.” He stumbles trying to take off his sneakers and you just watch him in awe. “Uh, wow, you have a great place.” He throws the gray hood off of his hair and light pink, voluminous locks fall to his shoulders. You didn’t get a good look at him the other morning, and now you can already tell this will be a long night.
He catches you staring at him and averts his eyes to admire the living room and its furnishings.
“Well, thanks! I, uh, spent the day setting everything up. The massage table is over there in the corner, and then I have some warm towels and candles set up just for the occasion.”
“Smells good.” His snout twitches a bit as he tries to catch the scent. Again, he catches your eyes looking at him as if you’ve never seen someone like him before. He clears his throat, “Uhm, where do I—?”
“Oh yeah, I left a robe in the bathroom for you to change into. Then you can come back in here and lay on the massage table face down. Just pull the sheet over your back, to uh, cover up. I'll be waiting in my bedroom until you call me back in here. Sound good?”
“Yeah, sounds good,” he rubs the back of his neck and follows you towards the bathroom past the kitchen.
“I’ll see you soon, then.” You point finger guns at him before walking quickly into the back hallway toward your bedroom.
Pacing around the room, your mind splits to tens of questions and thoughts about the man you’ve brought into your home. How did you not notice how attractive he is? He’s sure different from anyone you’ve met before, but you’re so intrigued? And he’s in your apartment. Getting completely undressed in the room beside you. Being a professional, you’d never thought about having a relationship with a client. But, he’s not a client, right?
You feel slightly embarrassed about your reaction to seeing his full face. You hope he wasn’t offended by the way your eyes trailed along his features.
You hear him walk out of the bathroom in the slippers you had provided him and wait patiently for his call out to you.
“Uh, Y/N, I’m ready!”
You breathe out and leave the bedroom to meet him. Coming out from behind the corner, you see him lying on his stomach with a white sheet laying gracefully on his backside.
You stop at the side table to grab your bottle of massage oil and a moistened towelette you throw over your shoulder. “I was planning to focus mostly on your back, but it looks like you work out a lot, huh?” You smile down at him.
“Oh, yeah, whatever you think is best,” he shimmies his full body making himself more comfortable.
“Of course, I’ll lead through all I'm doing. Please let me know if anything I do makes you feel uncomfortable, alright?”
“Sure, yeah,”
You can’t help but gaze at the deep divots that cause muscles in his back as you warm an amount of oil between your palms. You cock your head slightly at the long and short scars that are sprinkled down the length of his exposed back. The green tint is slightly lighter than the rest of the forest shade of his scales.
“Getting started, now,” you place one hand on either side of his back and massage in small circles. You usually don’t try to talk too much during your professional sessions at the spa, but maybe talking with him will calm your nerves. “So, I see you work out a lot? Is it a part of your job? Or a hobby?”
“Uhm, yeah, I guess you could say that. I practice sword-wielding and, uhm, self-defense?”
“Ohh, that sounds really cool. You’ve definitely got a nice physique.”
“Nah, that's just what everyone looks like in my line of work.”
You hum as his denial of your compliment. He has a body he should be proud of; he needs to care for it a lot better than he has, especially under such stressful work conditions.
You bring your hands to his lower back and decide to finally use your quirk. Energy pushes down your arms to the expands of your palms and fingertips. Your hands start to vibrate at a low speed as you run them back and forth away from your stomach on his back.
“Is that your hands? Doing that?”
“Yeah, it’s my quirk, it got me into the line of work at the spa,” you explain.
“Feels... good,” it almost sounds like he doesn’t know if he should be feeling good.
“I have to say I’ve never met anyone like you before, Shuichi, your scales are so damn cool. You have an awesome quirk.”
“I have to say I’ve never met anyone like you before, Shuichi, your scales are so damn cool. You have an awesome quirk.”
He huffs at your comment. “No need to butter me up.“ Silence floats around the room while he thinks about the unfamiliar kindness you’ve shown to him. “I guess… I’ve learned not to think about myself in that way.”
“How come?” You keep your hands moving along the muscles in his back. The energy from your quirk continues to work at the tights knots underneath his shoulder blades.
“I just want to be seen for all of me, exactly as I am. I don’t admit it to many people but, I sometimes don’t like just being known as the guy who looks like a lizard. I do so much more— I wanna be so much more, than that.”
“Well, I see you. And, I’ve only known you for a day. I'm already intrigued by who you are as a person,” you reassure him softly. “Even if no one else respects you, know that I do.”
“That’s… that’s really nice of you,” he says with breaks in his voice.
“If I pried too much, I—,” you start.
“No...Sorry, I’m just not used to respect. Thanks.”
“Anytime,” you smile.
You spend the rest of his session massaging him in silence after that.
After you finish, he’s directed back to the restroom to get changed while you wait for him in the foyer of your apartment.
You shuffle around near the front door with butterflies in your stomach. It didn’t occur to you that you’d end up feeling such strong things by the end of the night. But, now, you’re pacing in some slippers while trying to find the right words to ask him out.
“I think I should get going,” Shuichi says, startling you.
“Oh, yeah, of course! I hope you enjoyed the massage.”
“I did,” his toothy smile warms you up.
You watch him retrieve his sneakers and sit on the arm of your sofa to put them on. Now’s the time.
You clear your throat. “I was wondering… Would you like to go out sometime?”
He shoots his head up, “A date?”
“Mhm,” you nod while wringing your hands nervously.
“I— Yes. I’d like that, Y/N.” A blush sweeps across his snout and cheeks. Your heart squeezes seeing this for the first time.
“Cool!”
“Cool,” he repeats. He points to the door. “Well, I gotta get home before my roommates suspect somethin’.”
“Oh, yeah!” You open the fort for him to go. Your meeting ends with a nice wave goodbye before he disappears again.
—
Over the past two months, Shuichi and yourself got to know each other through long phone calls, picnics in empty parks, and movie nights in the living room of your apartment.
One week ago, you spent an hour building the most comfortable pillow fort with him before watching his favorite action movie. Shuichi came to your door with your favorite take-out meals, a portable projector, and a pack of fairy lights in hand. You had given him the biggest hug after praising him for remembering you had dreamt of setting up this sort of date before. However, you had the gut feeling to ask where he had gotten those things. The urge to question him about it was stamped out by the immensity of your excitement to share the night with him.
You used all the blankets and sheets you had in the house to create a canopy over the couch and a couple of bar stools. The projector sat on a tower of books and faced one white wall of your living space. The ground was covered by your bed comforter and pillows were propped comfortably against the bottom of the couch.
That was the first time he had the courage to pull you into his chest as you cuddled on the floor. The remnants of your meals were scattered at your feet as you both enjoyed the film. He had watched you caress his chest with your fingertips.
By the third quarter of the movie, you both were all over each other; exploring one another’s bodies for the first time felt like nothing you had ever experienced. You had your first kiss early on, but you could tell he was nervous to get even rougher with you. After you made out and felt each other up for another hour, Shuichi left your apartment in the late of the night with a kiss to your cheek.
Even sitting alone in your apartment tonight, you had regretted not convincing him to stay with you. You sit on your couch watching your favorite show eating a bowl of pasta. You had checked your phone several times today waiting for a call, or even a text, from Shuichi. Your mind wandered to the worst thoughts all day. Was he just using you for your quirk? The massages? To keep you around until you put out for him? Though you know in your heart that something is there between you two.
You stare mindlessly at the television until your phone starts buzzing to your side. You’re pulled from your thoughts and you grab your phone expecting his name to be on your screen. You sign, realizing instead that it’s a message from the city you reside in. You tap to play the automated voice message:
“Citizens, by our information, we are currently aware of the presence of the League of Villains in your residential area. Please, stay inside and stay safe. There are currently heroes handling the situation.”
“What?” You grab the TV remote and turn the channel to the news. The luminescent screen shows streets burning in blue flame and people run for cover. You watch as heroes search the roofs and alleys for the League’s members; the commotion maybe only ten blocks from where you live. Nothing like this has ever happened this close to you before.
A hard knock at your front door pulls your attention away from the distressed news anchor. Even with this situation, you hope that it’s Shuichi coming to check on you, to see if you’re alright.
You rush to get up and open the door. And to your luck, he’s there leaning against the door frame in the same manner as the first time he came over. But. he falls into your chest the second he realizes you’ve let him in. With his chest against yours and his arms thrown around your waist, you can feel exactly how labored his breathing is.
“Shuichi, oh my god, are you ok?” You rub his back comfortingly.
“Y/N, I—I’m so sorry,” he groans against your neck.
“Look at me,” you pull away to pick up his chin from your shoulder. Facing him head-on now, you see the raw gashes on his forehead and bicep. “Holy shit, did you get caught in all that?” You point to the chaos demonstrated on the TV.
He walks over to the remote sitting on the armrest of the sofa and clicks the TV off. “I’ve got to explain something to, Y/N.
—
“You’re part of all of that… the League of Villains,” you repeat him. “And they call you Spinner? When were you going to tell me?
“I—I tried convincing them not to come to this area,” he laments. He sits in front of you hunched over your knee, distracting himself with the material of your pajama pants as you tend to his wounds. “Ah,” he hisses as you dab his forehead with a rag dampened with hydrogen peroxide. “I understand if you’re mad at me, Y/N. If you never want to see me again—,” he huffs.
“I understand why you didn’t tell me right away,’ you whisper. “From now on, can we promise to tell each other everything, no keeping secrets?”
“From now on?” He looks up to face you. “You want to keep this going?”
“I really like you, Shuichi, I don’t want to let go of you after this,” you kiss his cheek to reassure him.
A deep blush rushes to his cheeks. “I—I really like you, too. I’ve liked you since you said you liked my scales,” he laughs. “So, yeah, no more secrets, I promise you, Y/N.”
“Good,” you smile and take his hand to help him up. “I’m gonna run a bath for you.”
He watches your hips sway as you walk to the bathroom to set up the tub.
—
With the bath filled with a layer of fluffy, lavender bubbles blanketing the surface, you call Shuichi in from the living room.
He peaks into the bathroom before smiling at your kind gesture. “Are you gonna stay in here, while I—uh, ya know?” He stammers while pulling at the edge of his shirt.
“I was thinking I could give you a massage to help you relax. If that’s ok?” You watch as he pulls his top over his head in one fluid motion. His arm muscles ripple with the smooth movement. He drops it to the floor and then combs out his lilac hair with his fingers.
“Yeah, I’d like that. Uhm, could you maybe—?” He cocks his head to the side while rubbing the nape of his neck.
You giggle at his modesty before spinning around toward the wall. You hear him drop his pants and disrobe from his arm wrappings and eye masks. The costume he came to you with today was much more sinister than the cozy ones he usually wore.
The water splashes a bit as Shuichi gets into the tub. He settles himself to the side of it for you to get access to his shoulders. His mind silently thanks you for adding the bubbles prematurely.
You turn and he’s leaned back against the glossy, white porcelain of the tub. You run your fingers along the skin of his shoulders and he shutters as the surprise of your touch. You set both of your hands flat on his swelled shoulders and activate your quirk. He immediately lets out a breathy, relaxed noise. You move your hands back and forth and delve deep into the muscles of his arms and neck in a circular motion.
“Mmm,” Shuichi lets a pleased groan go out of his throat. He lets his head rest against your chest and takes note of the beat of your heart against his scalp. “Thank you, Y/N.”
“Of course,” you say softly. Leaning down, you give him a gentle kiss to the side of his neck. You move your kisses to his jaw and cheek next. You watch as the water moves from under your lashes. Under the water, he rubs the tops of his thighs with his palms.
He clears his throat before stammering out, “Do you wanna, maybe, get in?”
You perk up at his offer. “You sure?”
“Yeah, c’mon in,” he confirms.
You deactivate your vibrating hands and stand up completely to take off your shirt and bottoms quickly. All of your shredded clothes form a puddle on the tile floor of the bathroom. You hook your thumbs to pull off your underwear and let them fall to the floor. It’s not cold in the bathroom at all, but you can feel your limbs shake slightly as you walk towards the edge of the bathtub. Goosebumps coat your bicep and neck as you carefully step into the water while grabbing the edge in order not to slip. Lowering yourself into the water, Shuichi faces away from your exposed body. A blush paints over his cheeks and snout. You sit across from one another, but he’s still so close.
“Hey,” you smile while flowing your arms through the water trying to get used to the temperature.
“Hey,” he responds. Shuichi holds out a hand out for you to take. “C’mere.”
You take his hand and he leads you to sit in front of him against his chest. You settle yourself between his thighs and clench your own legs to your chest.
“Can I tell you something?” His tone feels as warm as the water pooling up the middle of your chest. The soft fragrance of the bath relaxes you the most you've ever been in a long time; you melt into the cushion of Shuichi’s chest.
“Mhmm,” you hum while letting your eyes fall closed.
“I—uhm,” he stammers before taking a deep breath that you could feel against your neck. “Thank you for all you’ve done for me,” he says with a smile. “I didn’t have anyone to protect… to look forward to seeing before you came into my life. I’d be happy if just being here to save you from incoming cars,” he chuckles.
“I said it wouldn’t happen again!” you laugh and throw your hand back to press into his shoulder.
“Mhm,” he smirks, taking your hand and bringing it to his lips for a kiss.
“I’m glad to have met you too, handsome,” you turn and smile up at him. “You’re so sweet to me.” You lift yourself just enough to place a chaste kiss on his cheek.
“Stop,” he shakes his head.
“But, you look so good,” you sing.
“I look good?” he laughs. “You’re the girl of my dreams.” You feel both of his arms wrap around your midsection and his thumbs massage small circles underneath your chest. He leans into your ear to kiss the crest of it before whispering, “I’m sorry to have worried you, baby”
“Are you going to make it up to me?” you softly say.
Shuichi’s eyes widen as you turn your body in full to face him. If he wasn't already involuntarily sporting a hard-on with your body pressed up against him, he definitely is now. He catches a glimpse of your glossed nipples and watches as water cascades down the valley made between your breasts.
“Fuck,” he places his hands on your hips to guide you to straddle his lap. “Look at you.”
You rest your hands on his firm shoulders before leaning into his exposed neck.
He holds his breath and holds onto your body tightly, his nails starting to dig into your flesh anticipating your soft lips against his scales. His neck is tickled by your tongue giving hesitant kitten licks to the side of his neck. Shuichi feels himself melt into your body further yearning for your lips to close over his muscle.
You both moan as your lips begin to suckle on the prominent segment of his neck stuck out for you to ravage upon. The scales that coat his entire body create overlapped edges that you can feel as you drag your tongue along in small circular motions. You pull at him with the suction of your lips and then give soft kisses to the darken spots you leave along the way. “Just kiss me already,” Shuichi concedes. He takes your chin between two fingers and brings them to his lips. He holds back for a second to admire the clouded, sultry eyes looking at him from under lashes before pushing through the wall of tension to kiss you greedily.
You feel Shuichi’s hand on your hip start to guide you deeper into his lap, but the sudden movement makes you pull away. The shallow sweep of his strong thighs against your aroused center makes you yelp against his mouth. Eager for more, you lift yourself slightly before starting to grind against his thighs his time of your volition. The bathwater moves around both of you in shallow waves. They splash against your back in a similar tempo to your motions.
“Mmm,” he groans against your lips. His hands leave your body before returning in front of your chest in front of him. “Can I?”
You nod and put both of your hands on the side of the tub to the sides of his head. You feel his fingers for the first time on your tits and only a second passes until you're completely comfortable. He explores your skin and nipples as you both kiss passionately; with his eyes shut, he searches for your nubs to roll in between his padded fingertips.
“Y/N,” he pulls away breathless.
“Mhm?” You continue to softly grind on his thighs and he starts to speak.
“I’ve never done this before,” he stammers. You quirk an eyebrow at him with a sly smirk plastered on your lips. “Y/N, not like that.” Shuichi shakes his head with a laugh. “I want to ask you… Would you—will you be my girlfriend?”
You can't help but stop in your tracks to give him the tightest hug possible. “Yes, of course!”
He blushes at your immediate response. His hands caress your back and slowly run down the length of it towards your thigh and ass cheek. “Your skin is so soft,” he squeezes the flesh between his fingers and palm.
“Spinner,” you let his secret alias slip from your lips as a moan while massaging the section between your rear and thigh.
“Shit.” It feels so good to finally let his hidden life be free, but how was he to know you would use his identity against him in this way? He feels himself pulsate underneath the surface of the bathwater.
While pulling away from his embrace, the hardened tips of his cocks brush against your lower abdomen. You hear his throat catch at the minuscule touch. “You—your, uhm—.”
“Yeah…,” he sighs, covering his face with his palm. “I know it’s weird. You don't have to—.”
“It’s not weird!” You reassure him while pulling his hand away from his face and towards your chest. “I actually,” you run your opposite hand up the top of his ridged thigh. “I think it’s really hot.”
He gulps once he feels your thumb run over the smoothed tip of one of his cocks. “Seriously?”
Looking in his eyes, you bite your lip and nod. “I want you,” you whisper while leaning into his chest until your tits press against his skin.
A guttural groan rumbles in his chest before he grabs your wandering hand lightly to stop you from going further. “C’mon,” he offers in a low voice. His scaled hand rubs the globe of your ass and then squeezes. “Let’s go to your bedroom.”
He helps you up from your sitting position in the tub to standing. The lavender foam sticks to his thighs and abdomen as he steps out onto the bathmat. Your breath catches at your first sight of his perfectly sculpted ass. The speed of your heartbeat quickens as you watch him saunter over to the counter for two fresh towels.
Once he turns around, Shuichi can’t help but permit himself to catch glances at your exposed breasts. “God, you’re so fucking beautiful,” he smirks while handing you the towel. You feel the heat of a blush come to your cheeks while you wrap the towel around yourself. He offers you a strong hand to help you out of the tub. “Careful.”
Unwrapping yourself, you dry your limbs quickly while hoping to get back to being pressed against his strong body again soon. Once dry, you both throw your towels into the hamper.
“Alright, c’mon!” Your waist is pulled into his side and you feel your body being lifted in one fell swoop.
“Ah!”
Shuichi holds you against his chest with an arm hooked underneath your thighs and an arm holding your back. You swoon at his ability to carry you bridal style without breaking a sweat.
Once in your dimly lit bedroom, you're set down to stand on the carpet. Shuichi spins you around and walks against you until you both reach the end of your bed. Your lips lock together and you pull him by the neck to meet you on top of the soft duvet.
He settles himself between your spread legs and kisses you in fervor. You feel one of his hands roam back to your tits and he uses the heel of his hand to knead into you. Another hand grips the curve of your hip and his thumb rubs the skin above the bone there.
“Shuichi,” you moan against his cheek. “Feels good.”
“So… gorgeous…,” he peppers kisses along your collarbone and chest. “I want you so badly, Y/N.” He lets himself slide down your body while giving kisses to every piece of skin available to him. He ends up on his stomach with his head between your thighs. You rest your hands in his hair and watch as his lilac locks get wrapped in your fingers. “You okay with this, Y/N,” he mumbles against the muscle of your inner thigh.
“Mhm, please,” you whine. “You look so good with your face between my thighs.”
He groans at the sight of your already wet cunt spread in front of him. He quickly realizes it might be okay to be rougher with you; taking your physical arousal as a signal that you’re actually into him. You feel a nip at your thigh and it only makes you want him closer to your core even more.
Shuichi lets his tongue lull out of his mouth before licking a thick stripe against your thigh. The feeling sends a shiver down your spine and your pussy clenches in anticipation. “Who would have thought you’d be such a tease— ?” All of a sudden, his tongue explores your soaked folds and then latches onto your puffy clit. “Oh my, God,” you whine.
He groans at your sweet taste on his tongue. The vibrations of this sound travel straight to your sensitive nerve endings. You pull his hand to come back to one of your breasts as he continues his precise movements. You move two of his fingers to pinch your nipple and he obliges by rolling the peaked nub.
“Your tongue feels so good,” you whimper as you begin to grind on his tongue while tugging hard on his hair in your hand. “Shuichi?”
“Mmm?” He hums with his tongue pressed against your clit.
“Have you— ever used both?” you stammer. Your toes curl as you try to focus on his response.
His crimson eyes widen at you from between your legs. “Both?” he mumbles. “I haven’t.”
“I—I want to take all of you,” you feel heat rush to your chest as you admit to him the fantasy you've had since finding out what he’s been packing.
He hums deeply against your clit again before using a finger to pull one of your folds to the side. “I need to prep you real good for me then, baby,” he says proudly.
You nod and brace yourself for him to prod at your tight hole. Since dating you, he started to trim his claws down in fear of accidentally scratching you, and now that fact is even more important in this situation.
The suddenness of one of his thick, ribbed fingers enters your cunt easily with the amount of arousal built up. You gasp at the abrupt fullness of his long digit inside of you. The roof of your cunt is massaged by him slightly hooking his finger and pumping slowly.
“I’m gonna add another, you’re taking this too easy,” he says gruffly before nipping your inner thigh.
Shuichi pulls out and enters back in swiftly with an extra finger and continues to pump your pussy in a more quick pace. The soft padding of his fingertips hit the ridged, spongy section of your cunt repeatedly and it's like nothing you've felt before. You can’t help but bring your other hand down to help get you closer to your release.
He watched you bring two fingers to your hooded clit and turn on your quirk. The vibrating digits sound like a buzz in his ear, but how could he mind when you’re lewdly pleasuring yourself right in front of him. “Holy fuck, yes,” he retracts his tongue back into his mouth to allow you to handle your sensitive nub while his pumps into you vigorously. “Touch yourself for me, beautiful.”
That feels amazing,” you stammer. “Please, right there,” you whine. You rotate your pulsating finger in small circles.
“So fucking hot,” he says roughly. “Keep going, baby,” he attempts to encourage you towards your first orgasm of the night.
“Spinner, I can feel it,” you grind on his thrusting fingers. “You’re gonna make me cum.”
“Shit, baby, cum for me,” he adds another finger effortlessly. “Cum all over my fingers.” The tips of his fingers move together as one to knead the squishy flesh of your cavern.
“Mhmm,” you moan loudly as you feel the build of your climax being reached within you. All of a sudden, you feel it coming. You bite your lip as your legs start to shake; you fight through the intense feeling to pursue rubbing yourself to maximum pleasure. “I’m coming, fuck!”
“There you go!” He watches as your chest rises and falls quickly. The muscles of your cunt clench hard on his fingers. “Such sweet sounds.”
“How many—How many fingers was that, babe?” You breathe out with the air you have left.
He holds up four, glistening digits and pulls them apart to watch your arousal drip onto his palm. “That was super sexy, babygirl.” You watch him take his soaked hand to his cocks and stroke himself languidly. “Could I do down on you?”
“Yes—yeah, sure,” he says enthusiastically. You help him switch to the position you were in on the bed. He lays back against your pillows stacked against the headboard. He relaxes his brawny arms behind his head and spreads his legs slightly for you to settle yourself between.
You sit back on your calves and admire the ripples of his muscular form all laid out for you. The tips of your fingers trace the divots formed by his prominent abs; you drag your fingers tantalizingly down the lines that make a V to his phallus.
You observe him from underneath your lashes as you lean over his leaking cocks. Holding his heavy package as one in your small hand, you pump them in tandem.
“Is this ok, handsome?”
He’s focused so intently on your motions that all he does is a nod in response.
Two clear beads of precum perch on the outside of his cockslits. As your first move, you lick the beads away from his tips and let your tongue move in a circle over the two heads slowly.
“Oooh.”
You smile at his content before widening the O shape of your lips to take his cocks into your ready mouth. Letting saliva drool from your lips, you use your hands to coat his cock while moving your wrist in a twisting motion. You wrap your lips around his combined cockhead and drag your tongue along the sensitive slits.
“Fuck, you’re lips feel so good around my cock,” he whines. His muscles flex involuntarily as you suck hard on his cocks. The stimulation of his nerve endings send mini shocks to all places of his body in response to your movements. To pleasure what you can’t take between your lips, your hands pump him in upward, winding actions. You decide to turn on your quirk in turn for not being able to take his package completely into your mouth. Your tongue buzzes against his heads and your hands jitter while stroking him in full. The intense stimulation makes him create large amounts of precum; it drips and oozes from your lips down his shaft.
You hum against his hot muscles pleasingly, the taste of his sweet precum mixes with your saliva and coats the expanse of your mouth. You watch him as his eyes widen at the lewd use of your quirk, but he thanks the heavens that you could do this at all for him.
“Baby,” he says lowly. “I don’t want to cum just yet, I’m getting too close— too fast,” he groans.
A soft pop of your lips comes when you pull off of him. Proceeding to stroke him in one hand, you lift yourself to place a hand on his firm chest. Leaning down to meet his gaze, you whisper, “Do you want to cum in me?”
His eyes widen at your offer the second the words fall from your lips. “Yes, yeah, baby.”
You giggle and kiss the tip of his snout before straddling his waist
“I promise to make you feel so good, Y/N,” he groans against your neck. “I’m so turned on by your body, you have no fucking clue.” He holds your legs to his waist and rolls with you until your flat on your back against the mattress. You wrap your arms around his neck and let him spread your legs to the side. “Are you ready, Y/N?”
“Mhm, please,” you whine. “Fuck me, Spinner,”
“You got it, baby,” he holds his two, large pricks together in one hand. You hold the creases underneath your things and pull them as close to your chest as possible. He presses a hand into one of your thighs as he hovers over you. He rubs his cockheads over your clit and slit to collect the residual arousal before pressing softly into your tiny entrance. You both moan at the first touch.
“How are you— still so tight?” He questions. “Mmf,” he groans, attempting to push himself further.
“Oh, I’m a virgin,” you explain. “I hope you don’t mind.”
“Wha—what?” He exclaims. “I thought you said we weren’t keeping secrets?”
“I thought it was obvious,” you laugh while playing with your breasts innocently.
“And, you wanted to take both of me? First try?” He brushes his hair from his face.
“Yes, Shuichi, I want you as you are,” you say sweetly. “I wanted to at least try.”
“I can’t even believe you wanted to spend your first time with me,” he admits.
“Of course,” you hold his cheek in your palm. “I actually have some lube in the drawer. We can use it,” you smile sweetly up at him.
“Ok, baby,” he kisses your nose and crawls to the night table before returning with a clear bottle. “I said I’d make this amazing for you, but now I promise it.”
You nod and hold his biceps in your hands as he settles by your thighs again. Repeating his process, he rubs the lube from his cock onto your slit and presses down onto your thighs so they go to your chest. He presses into your cunt all too easily this time.
“Oh my, God,” you moan together.
“You ok?” He asks.
You nod and Spinner pushes his hips deeper into yours. His cocks stretch your pussy slowly as he slides all the way in. “Feels—so good,” you squeak out. Your boyfriend starts his thrusts once he feels the back wall of your core.
“Damn,” his hot breathe hits your face. “You’re taking me so well, baby,” he moans.
You bite your lip as tears form in the corner of your eyes from pleasure. His hips rock slowly, but the girth and length of him are able to hit every perfect spot inside of you. “Please, go faster, Spinner,” you plead.
“God, you look so gorgeous under me,” he praises.
“You look so good,” you compliment. “I love your cocks, Spinner, please.” He smirks before grabbing your hips with his strong hands and pistoning into you at a more quick pace. Your breasts bounce as you’re pulled into him continuously. “Fuck, thank you, baby, thank you-,” you whine.
“Take my throbbing dicks, baby, good fucking job,” he encourages. “Your cunt is amazing. Clenching so nicely for me,” he says roughly.
“For you, baby,” you say as a moan. You hold your breasts in your hands and roll your nipples with vibrating fingers.
“Are you gonna cum on my cocks? Just for me?” He groans.
“Yes, yes, yes, please,” you plead loudly. “I wanna cum all over your dicks!”
“Then do it, babygirl,” he foments. “I wanna feel you clench on me all over again. You’ve got it in you, huh?”
Your eyes widen as you realize his words have triggered something inside of you. Electricity rushes to your center and you can’t hold back. “Fuck, I’m— coming!” Ecstasy encases your entire body as your eyes roll back into your head. You try to push your arm down between you both to use your hand as a vibrator for your clit and the base of his cock as he continues to trust into you with fervor.
“Ugh, fuck, me— too,” he grunts. His thrusts come to a slow before he releases his load into the back of your cunt. Ropes of gooey cum spurt into your cavern and coat your walls completely.
Shuichi rolls onto his back beside you and lets an arm fall over his eyes. Your heart beats loud enough for you to hear as you both lay together in silence for a moment.
“Fuck,” he groans.
“Yeah,” your voice is small and your throat feels dry. “Spinner?”
“Hey, don't pull that on me again,” he laughs. He gets up from the bed to go retrieve his clothes from the bathroom.
You giggle at him and crawl to the end of the bed to meet him before he leaves the room. “I was wondering, would you like to spend the night?”
“What?”
“Honestly, we don’t know the current situation out in the city right now, and I’m kind of nervous to let you go. I want to be able to protect you, too.”
“I’d love to stay here with you,” he smiles. “Wanna protect me from my own crimes, huh?”
“Just come back to bed, please,” you whine.
“Ain't gonna get in without my pants, baby,” he taunts. “Unless you want your second time, now?”
“Shuichi,” you cover your face with the sheets. “Can you at least bring me my underwear too?” You plead. He nods and walks out of the room. You lay there alone in the dimly lit room for a minute. All you can do is smile to yourself at how lucky you feel.
Shuichi comes back and the mattress bounces as he hops into bed with you. You put on your undergarments quickly and then snuggle up close to your boyfriend.
“Goodnight, Spinner,” you say into his chest.
You earn a quick kiss to the forehead. “Goodnight, baby.”

J’aime Beaucoup Paris!
In late November last year, my dear friend and former L’Oreal colleague Michelle told me that she was going to be in Paris for Maison & Objet in January.
So, I took the opportunity to meet her there and bring Jax and Ry with me, too. This was my 4th time in Paris, but a first for both Ry and Jax.
Where to start? First, the trip wasn’t nearly long enough - we arrived Friday evening and left Monday morning but I will not complain. It is wonderful that we live in Portugal and can hop on a plane and fly merely 2 ½ hours to do a weekend in France! But, because I spent some time at Maison et Objet to do some work-related marketing research (blog post to come), that also cut into my leisure Paris time. Still, all in all, we were able to see and do a lot.
For those of you interested, here was our loose agenda:
Friday night: Arrive, eat a quick dinner by our AirBNB and head to the Eiffel Tower! Gorgeous! It is a sight to see it at night.
Saturday:
I am an early riser so I went to get pastries at Blé Sucré. It opens at 7am and I was pretty much there at 7:05am. We stayed in Le Marais near the Opéra Bastille area and I had read that Blé Sucré, located within walking distance, has some of the best croissants in Paris.
Anyway, as I was walking the gorgeous streets of Paris, and watching the sun rise in Bastille with its picturesque pink skies, I seriously channeled Rose from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and in my head, I was wondering how to convince my Abe (Ry) to drop everything and live here. This despite the fact that it was freezing. Who gets me??!?
There is just something about Paris – it is so beautiful, cultured, and sophisticated that even Michelle was saying that she feels her most beautiful in Paris. I wholeheartedly agree, and I sure am envious that she will live in Paris part-time starting in April. She already lived here for 5 years, then moved to London for 3 years, and is now back in Northern California to be closer to her parents. But soon she will be able to work remotely and live in Paris part of the year. Sounds perfect!
Anyway, after Ry and I inhaled our croissants and Jax finished his gluten-free strawberry, banana, and honey crepe that I got at Crêperie Elo Bastille, we were ready to tackle the Metro and go to Fondation Louis Vuitton to see the the approximately 120 artworks of Jean-Michel Basquiat. The Fondation is fairly new as it opened in October 2014 as a space to celebrate artistic creation in all its forms. Commissioned by Bernard Arnault, the gorgeous building was designed by architectural genius Frank Gehry.
The Basquiat collection is amazing, and extensive - spread over four levels! With so many canvases available to observe, I was able to get a really good feeling of Basquiat’s works and message and was incredibly inspired. To top it off, our timing was perfect because the exhibit took place from October 3, 2018 to January 21, 2019, and we saw it on January 19th! The exhibit was supposed to end on the 14th but they extended it a few days, so when I saw that when I was still in Portugal, I booked our tickets right away to make sure to get one of the last remaining slots.
After the Basquiat exhibit, we took the metro to the Louvre. As we know, a trip to Paris is not complete without seeing the Louvre and Tour Eiffel and I wanted to make sure Ry and Jax would see these Parisian landmarks. Even though the temperatures were below freezing, we were able to walk around and grab a few photos.
After that, I hit the clothing shops! My friend Angie, a Parisian native and owner of Artisan Lofts had previously directed me to her blog with a list of her favorite stores, so I hit Sezane and the Maje outlet. But just before that, Jax and I also stopped by a Maison Georges Larnicol chocolate shop, so he was able to get some Parisian treats, too.
After all this, I left Ry and Jax and went all the way to the Parc de Expositions to go to the Maison et Objet EXPO. Amazing, beautiful, and overwhelmed with all the home design and beauty eye candy, but one of the best trade shows I’ve ever been. Stay tuned for my blog post on that!
Sunday:
On Sunday, I spent the good half of the day at M&O, after first getting Jax yet another gluten-free crepe that he loved so much and strolling to the Place de Vosges, which was peacefully empty on a quiet Sunday morning.
At M&O, I finally met up with Michelle and her work colleague Lynette, and after a few hours of walking the various halls we hadn’t already seen, we called it quits and went to Jacques Genin, the most exquisite and sophisticated chocolate and patisserie shop I’ve ever seen. Leave it to Michelle, who is the most discerning foodie, to take us to this elegant place. It was heaven! I couldn’t leave without purchasing some of their chocolates and caramels and of course, the chocolates were packed in a beautiful tin. Yes, a heavy, substantial tin box.
I also did another quick shopping stint, dropping by the hip and trendy 3 story concept store, Merci and also to Leon & Harper.
We finally went to dinner at Semilla and because it was Paris Design Week, caught this gorgeous linen lampshade street on the way to the restaurant:
Dinner w my fabulous, sophisticated friend of 20 years!
Monday:
Time to head to the airport but not before waking up early to go to Du Pain et Des Idées. I swear, I will fly back to Paris just to grab more of their delicious bread and pastries. Their reputation is worth it. And because I am an early riser, I again was there when it first opened and there were no lines!
Au Revoir, Paris! Til next time!

ModCloth FitShop Washington, D.C.
ModCloth recently opened a new brick and mortar store in Washington, D.C. This will be their 3rd permanent location (including Austin and San Francisco). However, ModCloth’s “FitShops” aren’t your normal run-of-the-mill shops! I was fortunate enough to visit the Washington, D.C. FitShop last week and will explain how it works, plus my thoughts on the experience (and show some of the fun things I found) in this post.
How ModCloth’s FitShop Works
Usually, when you go to a clothing store, you wander around, try some things on and then purchase them. Given that ModCloth is a fun, online retailer, that’s not exactly how your shopping experience is going to go here – not that that’s a bad thing.
While you can certainly wander into a ModCloth store and look at their super cute merchandise…you won’t actually be able to buy the items in the store. Let me explain how this works…
1.) Make an Appointment with a ModCloth Stylist
To get the most out of your ModCloth shopping experience you should make an appointment ahead of time with a ModCloth Stylist. (Click here to do that!) You’ll answer a short questionnaire when you make your appointment, so your stylist will know roughly what you’re looking for. You can also give them permission to look at your ModCloth account, so they have a better idea of your style.
Pro Tip… Update your ModCloth wishlist! I, unfortunately, hadn’t done this and had bought many of the things on my wishlist already. My poor stylist had to take a completely different direction with their picks once I showed up and said… “Sorry, I already bought all of this.” My stylist was fantastic and had a new set of clothes for me to try on in no time – but it would’ve been much more efficient on my end to just have updated my wishlist before going in!
[show_ms_widget id=”36006703″ image_id=”41869297″ width=”780″ height=”520″] [show_shopthepost_widget id=”3252678″] 2.) Chat With Your Stylist + Shop Around
Once you arrive at the store, your stylist will sit down and chat with you about what you’re looking for. They’ll also let you look around the store at what’s all in stock. You’ll then get a little notepad to write down your favorite items. Then, you and your stylist will put together a whole bunch of outfits to try one! Let the fun begin!
3.) Try It All On!
[show_ms_widget id=”36006701″ image_id=”41869294″ width=”800″ height=”1000″]
[show_shopthepost_widget id=”3252764″]
Then comes the fun part…you get to try everything on! Your stylist will hand you the outfits they put together, and they will also be more than happy to offer any opinions and suggestions. I had so much fun trying on the different outfits my stylist put together. I wouldn’t have even bothered to try this jacket, so I am so happy my stylist suggested it! It turned out to be my favorite item of the day.
4.) Place Your Order or Add to Your Wishlist
Once you’re done trying on your outfits, you and your stylist will chat a little more about what you liked and didn’t like. You can then add items to your shopping cart or put them on your wishlist for later. The big perk of shopping in store is not only getting to try things on before you buy, but you’ll also get free express shipping right to your door! And if you’re lucky, you might stumble on a coupon when you’re in store too.
So, you won’t be able to take the items home with you that moment, but you’ll get super fast, free shipping!
My Thoughts on Shopping at a ModCloth FitShop
I had a blast shopping at the ModCloth Washington, D.C. FitShop! It was incredibly dangerous, haha! This is because it was a great opportunity to see things in person that I was too afraid to order online, as I wasn’t sure if I would love them (especially shoes – I have a really hard time ordering shoes online).
[show_ms_widget id=”36006704″ image_id=”41869298″ width=”780″ height=”520″] Those oxblood loafers are currently sitting in my shopping cart now! They fit my wide feet and were super comfortable.
Also, it opened my eyes to products I had seen on the website, that I didn’t think looked all that great. For example, the cute, cactus purse below is SO much cuter in person than it is on the website. Honestly, when I saw it on the website, I thought it looked rather cheap, but seeing it in person…oh man, I fell in love.

Shop Local
I also thought it was nice that ModCloth was trying to feature small, local businesses. My stylist was telling me how a very talented jewelry maker was selling her handmade pieces in the store earlier that week. (I think they had all sold out by the time I got there!) There was also a local plant store selling succulents and bouquets. ( I think they were leftover from earlier in the week – fresh shipment coming on Monday!)
What I Found at the ModCloth DC FitShop
I found entirely too many cute things at the ModCloth Washington, D.C. FitShop! Like I said this was dangerous… Feel free to also click on any photos below to go to the products on ModCloth’s website!
[show_ms_widget id=”36006706″ image_id=”41869300″ width=”800″ height=”1000″]
Absolutely loved this dress…didn’t realize I needed it until I went into the store, haha. It’s true-to-size and so comfy and soft!

It was so much fun to finally try this galaxy dress on too! It looked way better on than I expected. It seemed like the arm holes were a little big on me, though. I’m not sure if I’d feel comfortable wearing it without a cardigan (because you could see my bra from the side). But gosh, I really liked it!

And how GORGEOUS are all these heels? I have the gold pair already, but I really want the middle pair with the flower! (The grey sparkly pair would be wonderful for a wedding.)

Yep…totally bought this mustard bag I’ve been talking about nonstop. I’m SO excited!

A Piece of Your Heart
Requested by Anon: “How about Bucky or Tony x reader where reader has been hiding her powers (cardiokenisis) because of something that happened when she was little and lives a normal life as a florist or a librarian until some asshole really messes her up and she kills them by stopping their heart completely accidentally and she's forced to flee wherever she was and meets bucky/Bucky? Sorry I've had this idea for a while and I like your writing style. I love you!”
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader
Word Count: 3,130
Trigger Warnings: Death
You walked through the convenience store, your head hung low. You had a hat on under your hood and a pair of sunglasses covering your eyes. You made sure to look around for any cameras that might be hidden throughout the store. You grabbed a bottle of red hair dye and rushed to the register to pay for it. You never thought you would actually have to do this, that you would have to do what father prepared you for most of your childhood. You were confident that you had control over your powers.
You proved yourself wrong yesterday.
It was an ordinary day. You worked as a florist in a rinky-dink flower shop in downtown New York City. The perfect job for you; it was low maintenance and almost guaranteed that no one would ever notice anything special about you. Yesterday, however, was a particularly bad day.
You worked two jobs to keep up with your bills. That morning, you’d been laid off from the other one. That being said, you were already in a sour mood coming into work. Then, your coworker forgot to make a delivery, so you had to deal with an angry customer over the phone.
“Emily!” You’d scolded her. “You didn’t make the Davis delivery?”
“Oh my god, I am so sorry!” She said, pretending that she’d just forgotten about it. You both stared each other down. The animosity between you two was something you were both aware of, but neither cared to talk about. When it became evident to you that she wasn’t going to move, you threw your arms up.
“Well, are you going to make the delivery?”
“My car’s in the shop.”
Inhale. Exhale.
That’s all you could do as you grabbed the bouquet of flowers and your car keys. You left the store practically fuming, but still doing your breathing techniques that your father had taught you.
Back in your motel room (paid for in cash), you started the process of dying your hair. After the accident, you headed home and went into the box your father left you. It had a new ID, a passport, a stack of cash inside, and a key to a car in a garage somewhere. He was already for an accident to happen, to go completely off the map or to start over.
You just never thought you’d have to do it.
Shortly, you realized your chest was heaving. You were starting to hyperventilate as you thought of everything that went on the day before. You twisted the silver faucet with a squeak and splashed cold water on your face. When you looked up, you saw your reflection, but didn’t recognize yourself. This wasn’t you. This was an entirely new person.
Now, you just had to make the outside reflect that.
As if the day couldn’t get any worse, you got caught in traffic on the way back to the shop. While you were waiting in the car, you got a call from your landlord. “Look, Y/N, I don’t want to evict you, but you’re behind on your payments.”
“I literally just got laid off.” You tried to bargain with him.
“I’m sorry you got fired—”
“Laid off!”
“Laid off.” He corrected himself. “But you need to catch up with your payments by the end of the week or I’m going to have to evict you.”
When you arrived back at the shop, you remembered you had an appointment with an engaged couple for flower arrangements. This commission will definitely help towards the rent, you thought. Just as you were parking, you saw the couple leaving, grinning from ear to ear. “You have got to be kidding me.”
Emily was smirking as you rushed back into the store. “That was my appointment!” You all but shouted.
“And you weren’t here.” She gathered her purse and phone, preparing to leave. “Jason said I can take off early, so you’re on your own. Good luck!”
You felt all too familiar feeling in your veins as she walked past you, but you just continued to breathe.
Inhale. Exhale.
After she left, you had some time to calm down. You were wrapped up in your own boredom and thoughts. You kept thinking that you almost lost control. You could’ve done something terrible to her, but that breathing technique saved you. You silently thanked your father as you exhaled.
However, you spoke too soon.
A red-haired man with freckles sprinkled across his cheeks burst through the doors of the flower shop. “Where’s the manager?” He asked angrily.
“He’s not here right now.” You answered. “I can help you though.”
From there, everything was a blur. You don’t remember what the man was angry about. You only remembered the yelling. The flying hands. The insults.
“Incompetent piece of—-”
Inhale. Exhale.
“It’s like you can’t do anything right!”
Inhale. Exhale.
“Worthless—”
“Just stop!”
And he did.
Before you knew what you were doing, your blood was boiling, and that same feeling from when Emily walked past you started surging through your veins to the palms of your hands. Your hand reached out toward him, you realized that he really did stop.
He froze and clutched his chest. To any bystander, it would’ve looked like he was having a heart attack. He tried to gasp for air, but quickly realized he couldn’t. You were so out of control by that point, you couldn’t stop yourself. You didn’t really realize what was happening until he was lying on the ground, eyes and mouth wide open.
After you rinsed your hair, you began to towel dry your hair. You looked down and saw the towel, as well as your hands, stained with red hair dye. The logical side of your brain knew that it was hair dye, but you couldn’t stop the thought of this being that man’s blood. You immediately rushed to the sink and yanked both faucets of the sink.
You started to scrub your hands raw, trying to get the dye off your hands. It took about ten minutes of rubbing and scrubbing before you were satisfied with the tint of your hands. You averted your eyes from the white towel that was stained red and went to your motel bed.
You took out your new laptop and searched for a flight to the most obscure place you could find. When you were satisfied with the distance from New York City, you booked a flight for the next day with money from an untraceable account your father had left for you.
Soon, you’d be able to start over without a worry of what happened yesterday.
“Banner! Over here!”
The NYPD police chief called the scientist over to the body of a red-haired man whose cheeks were sprinkled with freckles, paying no attention to the ‘Winter Soldier’ who was with him. Bucky had been training with the Avengers for awhile now, but this was his first time in the field, so to speak, since joining the team. Of course, there were some people who weren’t happy about the new addition. Like the NYPD police chief.
Bruce shook the chief’s hand with a small smile. Bucky and the chief shared a small greeting filled with animosity before turning their attention to the dead body lying before them. “What’s the problem, chief?” Bruce asked.
“Yeah,” Bucky started, “You don’t usually call the Avengers when you need something. ‘Cause, you know, they apparently do too much property damage while saving the world.”
Bruce stepped in front of Bucky as the police chief opened his mouth to answer him. He left out a nervous laugh before quickly intervening, “Don’t mind him. He’s still a little torn up about the situation.”
The chief gave Bucky a dirty look, which was returned with one hundred times the animosity, and gestured to the body. “Looks like the guy had a heart attack—”
“You called us here for a heart attack?” Barnes huffed.
“But,” The chief continued, “We went through his family history, and there’s nothing that would suggest heart problems. He was the primary example of health. It was like a heart attack happened out of nowhere.”
Bucky knew that examining bodies was not his strong suit, so he wandered around the shop. He looked for any kind of clues to help the case, but found nothing of importance. When he got behind the counter, he did see something that caught his attention, something reflective. He picked up a necklace with his metal arm, noticing the initials on it.
While Bucky inspected the necklace, Bruce had crouched down to further examine the body. He noticed his neck was paler than the rest of his body, so he looked up at the chief. He pointed to the dead man’s shirt. “Do you mind?”
“By all means.”
Banner unbuttoned the man’s shirt and saw that the paleness started around the left side of his chest and was spreading outwards. “Cardiokinesis.” He muttered.
“Cardio what now?”
Bucky rolled his eyes from behind the counter, “Cardiokinesis. The power to control the heart. We’ve got a ‘superhuman’ on our hands.”
The police chief cleared his throat, “Well, this is definitely out of my jurisdiction.”
“We can handle it from here, chief.” Banner nodded.
“F.R.I.D.A.Y., pull up all news headlines of people with superhuman abilities from the past five years.”
Bruce saw a few that he recognized, and apparently Bucky recognized some of them, too. A man leaping out of a building, a hood covering his face. A blindfolded vigilante that ran around Hell’s Kitchen, fighting people and taking down drug lords. But nothing that would suggest a cardiokinetic.
Bruce and Bucky worked for hours trying to find a cardiokinetic in New York City, but nothing showed up in their research. Bruce placed his hands on the counter, tossing his glasses carelessly onto the marble. He decided to broaden his search in hopes of narrowing something down. “F.R.I.D.A.Y., show me any headlines of sudden, out-of-the-blue heart attacks within the last twenty years. NYC only.”
Bruce swiped through the headlines. None of the victims were connected in any way, aside from how they died. However, as he breezed through, Bucky saw the same man in the background of each headline picture. “Wait.” He said, moving to stand next to the scientist. Bucky circled the man with his finger, and asked F.R.I.D.A.Y. to run facial recognition.
He ended up with the record of Y/F/N Y/L/N. He died about five years ago, but Bruce noticed he did have a daughter. Y/N Y/L/N. Bruce flipped through all the pictures again and saw that there was a little girl with him every time. Bucky noticed that the little had a necklace around her neck. “It’s her.”
“How do you know?”
Barnes dug around in his pocket before pulling out an identical necklace, the one he found at the flower shop. “It’s her.”
Five weeks later, you were still adjusting to your new life. You had moved onto an old farm that your father had bought years ago. It was the perfect place to hide. Plenty of open space, no neighbors for miles in any direction; it was isolated, and that was exactly what you needed.
Sometimes, you would go into town to sell fruits and vegetables. You needed a way to keep all of your assets in cash, in case you ever needed to hide somewhere else. Other than that, you tried to keep your contact with others to a minimum. You would’ve gone crazy if you didn’t find the puppy that had wandered onto your farm. You had no idea where he came from, and he didn’t have tags, so you kept him. You named him Soldier; he always barked at anything that seemed like it would harm you.
You were in the back, picking strawberries from a bush when you heard Soldier barking. You figured it was nothing, so you kept at it, stopping to eat a particularly big one. As you chewed, you realized that he was still barking. You huffed and rose to your feet, “This dog will be the death of me.”
When you made it inside the house, you saw Soldier on the couch, looking out of the window. “Soldier, get down from there.” You clapped, prompting him to leap onto the ground. His barks quieted down to whines when you leaned onto the couch and peaked out of the window. You saw a car coming up the dirt road, slowing down in front of your walkway.
With wide eyes, you ran to your bedroom and grabbed the revolver you kept on your bedside table. You tucked it into the back of your jeans when you heard a knock on your door. You couldn’t take the risk of being without protection in case it was someone who was after you.
You made your way back to the front door, twisting the lock and opening the door.
The man on the doorstep looked familiar to you. Maybe you had seen him in town before. He was wearing a pair of worn jeans, a red long-sleeved T-shirt, and garden gloves on his hands. He was sure to be a farmer, his face covered with dirt and his brown hair falling into his eyes. “Hey there.” He smiled. “I’m your new neighbor, James.”
You cautiously shook his outstretched hand and nodded. “Nicole.” You lied.
“Well, welcome to the neighborhood, Nicole.” He joked. “Mind if I come in?”
“Um, no.” You slowly opened the door wider. “Of course, come in.”
You tried to remember where you’d seen him before as you offered him a drink. There weren’t many options. You poured a glass of water, trying to allow your nervousness to subside. He was obviously just a farmer. If that were true, you thought, then why does he look so familiar?
When you came back to the living room, James was rubbing Soldier on his belly. He had a small smile on his lips as Soldier rolled back over and wagged his tail. He clearly liked your new visitor.
“Here you go.”
James reached up for the glass when you saw a flash of light. To anyone else, it would’ve been nothing. You, however, saw that the glare of light was a result of a piece of metal on James’ arm. You thought it was some kind of microphone, so you immediately grabbed the revolver that was tucked into your pants.
“Who the hell are you?” You pointed the gun and lowered your voice.
James had his hands up, a sign that he was no danger to you. “What’s the matter?”
“Who are you?” You stressed again,
“I’m James. I told you that.”
“Your real name.”
Once he realized that his cover was blown, he sighed deeply. “That is my real name, doll. But most people call me Bucky.”
Then it suddenly clicked. Bucky, as in Bucky Barnes. You had heard all about him and the rest of the Avengers, as most people had. You spent the last two years trying to make sure you steered clear of them. They must have gotten word of your existence when they found that man’s body. You immediately clicked the safety off and tensed in your place. “The Winter Soldier.”
“That’s not who I am.” He said in a low voice.
“So, that metal that I saw?”
He began to move his right hand toward his left slowly, letting you see that he wasn’t trying to trick you. Pulling on the glove, he showed you his metal hand before throwing the glove to the side. He tried to step closer to you, but you made it clear that you would shoot. “Now, I don’t wanna hurt you, doll.”
“I’m the one with the gun.”
“And I’m ‘the winter soldier’, remember?” He raised his brow. “That may not be who I am, but I retained some things.”
You furrowed your brow as you looked him in the eye, trying to call his bluff. You didn’t think before you pulled the trigger; you just aimed at his chest and pulled. Bucky reacted quickly, placing his metal arm in front of himself to deflect the bullet and stepping forward to grab the gun. You pulled the trigger again, but the bullet didn’t even get to leave the gun due to Bucky’s hand covering the barrel. “You’re not the first to try that, darlin’.”
“Why are you here?”
“You killed a man.”
You let go of the gun, and he threw it to the side. He was prepared to fight you if he had to, but he decided to talk to you. He wished more people had given him the same chance when he was under Hydra’s control. “It was an accident.” You muttered.
“You mean,” Bucky started, “You didn’t mean to kill that man?”
Tears started to well up in your eyes as you sat on the couch. Soldier curled up next your feet and rubbed his cheek against your leg in an attempt to make you feel better. You reached down to pet him as you continued. “I had just been laid off from one job, I lost the commission from my other, I was about to be evicted…” You trailed off.
Bucky stayed silent. He noticed the true remorse in your eyes with every word you spoke. He knew you weren’t lying. You really hadn’t meant to hurt that man. You were no more a killer than he was the Winter Soldier.
“Then he walked in. I don’t really know what he was upset about; it was a blur. I just remember him yelling and shouting at me. Then I told him to stop.” You cried. “And he did.”
Bucky sat down next to you, not knowing how to comfort you. He wished he could; he saw so much of himself in you. He just wanted to let you know that it would eventually be okay. Thanks to Hydra, though, Bucky wasn’t really good with communication and showing genuine emotion. So, he leaned back into the couch and made you an offer. “Come back with me.”
You looked at him like he was crazy, “No, I can’t. They’re gonna send me to jail or I’ll get the death penalty—”
“New York doesn’t have the death penalty.” He chuckled. You were cute when you were nervous. He looked into your eyes, “I don’t know what they’re planning on doing, but I will be there every step of the way.”
“I can’t ask that of you.”
“You’re not.” He said. “I’m offering. If they want, they’re gonna have to go through me. And they won’t get through me.”
Walking out the front door with Bucky on your left, and Soldier trotting beside you on your right, you had never felt safer.

She's My Bucky
Bucky x reader
Warnings: fluff, angst, mentions of death and mention of a heated kiss, I think that’s it.
A/N: this is my first fic and I’m not 100% what I’m doing. I’m no writer my any means but thought id give it a go and see what happens. the idea for this came to me a while ago and I’ve not been able to leave it alone. so after nearly 2 weeks of making notes and telling myself to just go for it. this happened. there’s probably spelling mistakes and grammar errors everywhere and I apologise. also I typed this out real quick as I got half way through once and the computer crashed and stole it all. thank you for reading.
“Come on!” Sharon sais excitedly as she dragged Bucky and Steve to the garage of the compound. “she’ll be here soon!” Steve and Sharon’s wedding was only a few weeks away now and Sharon had asked her best friend to be her maid of honour and she was coming today. “she’s always been there for me since we were kids, we spent so much time together at aunt Peggy’s after our parents died she practically lived with us, even Tony knows and loves her, being aunt Peggy’s god son and all. She has always been a bit protective of me, I suppose you could say she’s my Bucky” Sharon told Steve as Bucky trailed behind, still not comfortable with meeting new people no matter how many times Steve said it was ok.
Just then the garage door opened and a bright purple ‘67 mustang with white racing stripes rumbled in. As the engine cut off and the door opened Bucky could have sworn his heart stopped when out climbed the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. “(y/n)!”
Sharon squealed just as (y/n) closed the door and ran for her. the two women clung to each other so tight happy to be back together again rocking each other as tear filled hellos and compliments flew between them.
As they released each other Sharon looped her arm with (y/n) and lead her over to the men. “(y/n) this is Steve. Steve (y/n)” Sharon introduced with a huge smile. Steve held out his hand and (y/n) shook it and said “wow, so your the amazing Steve I’ve heard so much about?” as she cocked an eyebrow at Sharon with a playful smirk on her face causing Sharon’s face to warm up and a slight blush to dust her cheeks. “And this is Bucky. Bucky, (y/n)” no one had noticed that Bucky had not taken his eyes off her, just then Steve nudged him and knocked him from his trance and he took her hand with a “nice to meet you.” Just then the door to the compound opened and an agent carrying san armful of paper work came in, “captain rogers, Agent carter, sorry to interrupt but I was wondering if I might have you signature on a few of these please?” “Sure” Sharon said as she turned to (y/n) “ill be right back.” as Sharon as Steve turned to walk way (y/n) stepped up to Bucky and whispered in his ear, “see something you like, soldier?” his back stiffened as Sharon called (y/n) over took her arm again as she lead the way in to the compound to get (y/n) settled and meet the team. “You ok , buck?” Steve calls from across the room, “yeah, I’m fine. I think I just met my future wife!” he replies still staring at the door the women disappeared through.
walking in to the common room with Steve and Bucky in tow, Sharon introduced everyone to (y/n). “everyone this is (y/n). (y/n) this is Sam, Wanda, Nat, vision, Clint and Thor.”
(y/n) gave a small wave. she was just about to say something when,
“THERE’S MY JELLYBEAN!” a rather loud Tony entered the room with a rather timid looking Bruce. “Tony, its been how many years and you are still calling me that?” (y/n) replied with a playful smirk on her face as she hugged tony. “Of course, things like that aren’t easily forgotten.” looking around the room at a sea of confused faces Sharon took in upon herself to explain that you got the nickname from tony due to sticking a jellybean in each nostril as a child and freaking out when they got stuck and you were convinced you were going to die, she even told Sharon she could have everything in her room to remember her by. “Thanks.” (y/n) deadpanned and blushed as a few giggles were hear around the room. Bucky thought it was the most adorable thing he’d ever seen. Later that evening after the kitchen had cleared bout after dinner save for Sharon, Steve, Bucky, Tony and (y/n) who were talking and catching up, “so what are you doing for work at the moment?” tony asked (y/n) while he sipped his drink. “oh, I quit my job before I came out here, they said they couldn’t give me the amount of time off I wanted and Sharon needed me so I left.”
“what about your apartment?” Sharon asked, “a neighbour is watching it.”
A couple of weeks later the night of the bachelor and bachelorette parties arrived, “HURRY UP (Y/N)!” Nat called, everyone was ready and waiting to leave. when (y/n) entered the room she was met with wolf whistles and cheers, and a Bucky that looked like a fish gasping for air. she was wearing leather bottoms that hugged her in all the right places a corset style top and a leather jacket with high heeled boots, smokey eye make up and bright red lips. as everyone made their way to the door she caught Bucky’s eye and winked at him and went to join everyone else and Bucky leaned in to Steve and said “is she trying to fucking kill me?” After everyone had decided who was going in what car they all met a local bar for a few drinks before going their separate ways, (y/n) looked over to the bar where she noticed a very uncomfortable looking Bucky and a woman fawning all over him. “ill be right back” she told Sharon and got to her feet and made her way over to Bucky with a very seductive look on her face. Bucky saw her coming over and wondered what was happening. At the same time Sam saw and nudged Steve and got all the men’s attention to watch the events unfold.
As (y/n) got closer to Bucky she pushed the woman out the way ad held Bucky’s chin between her thumb and index finger so he was looking in her eyes and said very seductively, “me and the girls are heading to a club where we are going to have men grinding all over us, so I’m gonna be as Horney as fuck when I get home so you better be ready for a rough ride, Sargent.” then she pecked his lips and walked away with a “see you later, lover.” Before Bucky had a chance to do or say anything she has made her way over to the woman and said “honey, as cute as you are I don’t share so if I were you, I’d make myself scarce.” blowing a kiss in the woman’s direction as she walked away.
(y/n) walked back over to the table of women missing the animalistic growl that left Bucky and proclaimed it was time to move on swinging her hips that little bit more knowing she still had an audience. As the women left Bucky was still standing there uncomfortable except now it was for a whole other reason.
a few days later the girls went for their dress fitting, while they were all in a fitting room pulling on the third dress suggestion from the woman who was clearly trying a little too hard for her commission Wanda spoke up, “so (y/n) what’s up with you and Barnes?” “if you’re referring to the other night at the bar, I was simply helping a friend in need,” she replied as Nat zipped up the back of her dress for her, “of course you were,” Nat smirked. After leaving the bridal shop, Nat and Wanda were called away for a mission so (y/n) and Sharon decided just to get coffee and head home, but they were so wrapped up in wedding talk they didn’t notice they were being followed. As they made their way back to collect the car a man dressed completely in black grabbed Sharon from behind and lifter her from the floor. Just as (y/n) was about to launch herself at him, she stopped and turned her head just in time to catch the fist that was about to make contact with the back of her head. she used the momentum from it to flip the man over her head, temporarily knocking the wind from him and went to help Sharon. after a full on fist fight that lasted maybe less time than the men imagined, (y/n) and Sharon had managed to contain the men and get some agents to come and collect them for questioning and headed back to the compound.
“I don’t get it,” Steve said confused looking at Bucky, “I don’t see how Sharon managed to beat those two on her own, they are big men!?”
“that’s because she didn’t,” tony said with a smile, “here, watch this.” he put the cctv footage of the attack on the big screen on the wall and Bucky and Steve watched in awe as you helped Sharon fight off the men with moved some would say rivalled Nat’s. “wow!” Bucky breathed out. That night while snuggled on the couch watching a movie with Sharon, Steve said “where did (y/n) learn to fight like that?”
“she went to the S.H.I.E.L.D academy with me but dropped out before she finished training.”
“why? she’s good.”
“I know I asked her far ages after she done it but she never would tell me.” Sharon said with a hint of sadness in her tone, Why do you ask?“
“I was thinking of asking her to join the team.”
“that’s a great idea sweetie!” Sharon said excitedly, I’m sure she would!“
“id love to! as long as Sharon is ok with it!” (y/n) said excitedly when Steve asked her the next day to join the team.
“she’s fine she was really happy I wanted to ask,” Steve smiled.
“well ill leave you here in Bucky’s capable hands, he’ll be your mentor anything you need just ask him.” and with that Steve left you in the gym. “right. lets get started, doll” Bucky said as he took a defensive stance.
over the next few weeks, (y/n) and Bucky grew closer and started spending more time together outside of training. until one day, “would you like to come out to dinner with me one night, doll.” “are you asking me on a date, Sargent Barnes?” “That i am,” he said with a boyish smirk that made her knees weak. “Then yes, id love to go out to dinner with you. maybe pick me up at 7 tomorrow?” “7 tomorrow it is, doll. i cant wait.” As (y/n) left the gym she caught Bucky punch the air and whisper “yes!” and couldn’t help but giggle to herself.
As it happens news travels fast around the compound and as (y/n) sat down to breakfast with Wanda and Sharon, Wanda said, “a little bird told me, (y/n) that you are going on a date with Bucky tonight?”
“yes I am but never mind bout that, today is cake tasting day, so I’m going to have a shower and get dressed and ill meet you ladies back here in say, an hour.” and with that (y/n) quickly left the room.
“why does she do that?”
“I’m not sure she’s been like it as long as I can remember, never wants to talk about herself, its just the way she is I think.” Bucky and (y/n) returned from their date laughing together and decided to sit on the couch for a bit and watcha movie to finish off the perfect evening. while (y/n) went to change in to some pjs, Bucky found a bottle of Tony’s very expensive whiskey and 2 glasses and put the movie on just as (y/n) came back in. they sat watching the movie for a while (y/n) snuggled into Bucky’s side, “(y/n)?”
“yes, Bucky” she replied as she sat up and looked at him, he stared into her eyes for a second before swallowing thickly and said “I think I’m falling for you.”
(Y/n) didn’t say anything she just closed the gap between them and pressed her lips to his in a heated kiss, they both stood from the couch and went to Bucky’s room and it turned out the movie wasn’t the perfect ending to the perfect evening.
Laying awake with her head on Bucky’s firm chest. (y/n) started to feel uneasy about how she felt for Bucky. she knew that if she was seen people would want to talk to her about it, she couldn’t handle it so she very slowly removed herself from Bucky’s hold and snuck out back to her own room making sure no one saw her.
The next morning at breakfast (y/n) is sitting talking animatedly to Steve and Sharon about things for the wedding when a very pissed off looking Bucky walks in.
“Are you kidding me!? Where did you go?” he asks with a frown and a jaw so set it could cut glass. “Bucky,” (y/n) sighs, “I cant do this now.” “No. you can and you will, we spend a great night together, we confess our feelings and sleep together and I wake up and you are gone!?” everyone looks at (y/n). She looks at her hand that are now clamped together in her lap and lets out a sad sigh, “I did it because of Sharon.”
As she says it she look over to a very hurt and confused looking Sharon, “excuse me, I don’t follow. how is this my fault?” “I don’t mean it like that, not in a bad way. this is your time. your wedding. people should be talking about that and congratulating you, not talking about me and my feelings for Bucky.” (y/n) says matter of factly like its the most obvious thing in the world. “Hold on, I think its great you found someone. maybe even better that its Bucky. you always do this you always cut yourself short, you draw attention to my happiness even if it costs yours.” (y/n)stays quiet with a guilty look in her face, she could see the realisation dawning on Sharon’s face. “is that why you never competed the S.H.I.E.L.D training, you always were better than me, and why you enrolled in college out of town so it was harder for people to get to yours so you told them to come to mine instead?” (y/n) just sits with tears in her eyes and nods.
(y/n) gets up from the table and turns to Sharon, “I have always put your happiness first. you are so special to me and deserve the world, you are like a sister to me the one I never had. you and I both know I’ve done a lot of shitty things in my life, things I could never make up for, I thought that by looking out for you, protecting you and making sure you were happy it would be a start. I know i will never be able to make it up to you or fill the void I created, I done the worst thing imaginable top you and all you did was ask Peggy to help me. if she hadn’t agreed who knows where id be now. All I have ever done is try and make you happy but all I seem to do is make things worse. I’m sorry I ruined your moment and Bucky, I’m sorry I hurt you.“
Before anyone has the chance to say anything (y/n) turns on her heel and bolts from the room with tears streaming down her face. “what the hell was that all about?” a very confused Steve asks a very upset Sharon. “I think its time I showed you something,” Sharon says walking over to the TV. “F.R.I.D.A.Y, bring up the file on my parents deaths.”
(Y/n) packs to leave and stops to visit Tony on the way out. “thank you for having me tony but I’m leaving,” (y/n) say s willing herself not to cry again, she doesn’t deserve to be upset she ruined it all, again. “why? what happened?” Tony walks around his workbench and hugs her. “because as usual I’ve shown up and ruined Sharon’s life and hurt people i love.” she realises what she said after id leaves her lips. she said love the one thing she’s not allowed herself. the one thing she has no rights to. “can I stop you?” tony asks and she shakes her head, no. “well I don’t like it but you are your own woman now, Jellybean, but you know where I am if you need anything.” “thank you, Tony.”
(y/n) makes her way to the garage and wasn’t prepared for what she finds. Where do you think you’re going, doll?“ Bucky say leaning against her car. "Away, Bucky. I’ve done enough damage I’m sorry.”
“Sharon told us everything. None of it was your fault.”
(y/n) lets out the breath she didn’t know she was holding, “we both know that’s nor true. if I hadn’t have been so caught up in my ex, brad, Sharon’s parents and mine would still be here.” “(y/n) there’s no way you could have known he was HYDRA, there’s no way you could have known you were used as bait in a hit on Sharon’s parents lives. but i know that if you wasn’t there that day Sharon wouldn’t be here either. she told us how hard you fought for her, taking all the hits, even taking a bullet to the leg. you may not have been able to save yours or her parents lives, but you saved hers. she owes you her life and she’s living it, she graduated college, she’s an avenger, she’s getting married and pretty soon her and Steve will start a family and its all because of you.” (y/n) stands staring at him with fat tears rolling down her face. Bucky pushed himself off her car and walks towards her. “you deserve everything she has too. all these years you have lived thinking you don’t deserve happiness and you do, so much. I cant let you leave here knowing you still think that way. I know I cant force you to stay but I need to tell you something before you decide what to do. I love you (y/n). her breath hitches in her throat as she raises her eyes to meet his, "what did you say?” “I love you.” he smiles. “Do you mean it?” “with everything I have.” (y/n) drops her bags and falls into Bucky’s arms and he just holds her .
A couple of weeks later the wedding goes well. Bucky and (y/n) steal glances at each other across the alter and they couldn’t be happier for their friends.
At the reception Bucky seems agitated, “are you ok, baby?” (y/n) asks.
“Yes, doll. I’m fine.” he kisses her forehead and wraps his arm around her.
Before long Sharon calls for all the ladies saying it’s time to throw the bouquet. everyone counts to three then Sharon turns around and hands it to (y/n) and tells her to turn around where she is met with Bucky down on one knee.
she brings her hand up to her face and has tears already in her eyes and he begins to speak, “ (y/n) i cant begin to put into words how much I love you. you mean the world to me. hell, you are my world! I cant see the rest of my life without you and its been that way ever since the day I saw you. the day I met you I told Steve I met my future wife.”
Steve nods and laughs “he actually did.” there was a few giggles from the crowd.
“(y/n), would you make my dreams come true, doll and become Mrs. (y/n) Barnes?” She stands with tears in her eyes and gives a small glance to Sharon who gives a small nod. “yes! Bucky, a million times yes!” Bucky pushes the ring on her finger, picks her up and spins her around. “I love you so much, doll!” “I love you too!” Steve and Sharon watch as Bucky and (y/n) dance and steal kisses whispering sweet nothings in each others ears. “I’m glad they got their happily ever after.” Steve tells Sharon as he kisses her cheek. “me too,” Sharon says with a smile, “ after all they have been through. id go against the world for her like you did for him. but after all, she’s my Bucky.”

Top 5 Affordable Ways to Update your Home
Happy weekend, my friends! I hope you’re being able to take some time off to relax and spend some peaceful time.
What makes your house a home for you? For me is, without any doubt, my family and the memories we create under our roof. And it’s this love for my family that motivates me to make our house feel comfortable, inviting and welcoming for each one of us.
As an interior designer and more importantly, as a mother of three, I know a few tricks to keep my house feeling updated and refreshed for each season without having to spend too much money.
Creating a beautiful home is for me, almost like therapy. 🙂 I feel happier and calmer when I see everything clean, organized and in harmony. Add some fresh flowers (or even a few faux botanicals), change those tired, cheap pillows for something that makes you smile and open your windows and allow the fresh air and the sunshine in! Let’s fill our home with love!
#1: Paint
According to some experts “all interior design elements – such as color, texture and pattern – affects how we feel on a biological and psychological level as our brains secrete neurochemicals as we experience our built environments” (from Best Health). My personal experience is that, if my house feels messy and cluttered (which is easy to happen with small children at home), I don’t feel as calm as I usually am. It’s harder to concentrate and things seem to be more stressful. Whereas when my house is organized and clean, I feel happier and more productive.
Paint color is a big part of your home – inside and out – and it’s a relatively cheap way to refresh not only your walls but also your cabinets and exterior. My favorite colors for interiors are Benjamin Moore Edgecomb Gray, Sherwin Williams Useful Gray and Sherwin Williams Natural Choice. My favorite Whites are Benjamin Moore Simply White, Sherwin Williams Pure White, Sherwin Williams Extra White (great for trim!) and Benjamin Moore White Dove.

#2: Lighting
There was a time where only the rich could have beautiful lighting. Don’t you agree? 🙂 Thank goodness this is no longer the case! Lighting is more affordable than ever and if you’ve read the blog you know I’m always sharing some great and affordable finds with you.
For me, lighting can make or break a space… simple as that! And trust me, choose the wrong lighting and chances are that your home will look outdated and tacky. The good news is that lighting is an easy change and with just a few bucks you can make a big impression!

#3: Pillows, Rugs & Such
Home décor is what gives your home a personality and this is why I feel we should stick with neutral wall colors. Bring color and a change with new pillows and if possible, invest in two rugs for your Great Room. One should be for warmer months and the other, for the colder months. Changing them from time to time will allow your home to feel refreshed. Try to do the same with your pillows and some decorative items. I tend to add more coastal décor during summer.

#4: Fresh Linens
Do I need to say anything about this? Apparently, yes! Many of us tend to beautify the main rooms of the house but we neglect the spaces that are not always seen by our guests. We forget that we should be prioritizing ourselves and our own comfort level.
Do invest in a beautiful bed, in a really good mattress and in the best linens you can afford. I promise you will feel happier every time you get under your fresh linens and feel hugged by their comfort. You deserve that!
Design: @caro_kmartin
: @dustylu

#5: Outdoors
When it comes to landscaping, the average return at resale of your home is about 100 percent, so why not spend some time outside this spring and summer to add some extra curb-appeal to your home? To do it affordably, talk to your neighbors to see what type of plants work with their soil and visit your local garden centers looking for discounts on plants. Try to choose plants that offer some color and vary on their heights to add some interest and don’t forget to add some extra comfy outdoor furniture to enjoy the work you have done outside of your home.

The Las Vegas desert brings in scorching hot summers, which is why we don’t like leaving the apartment until sundown. Even when going you’re out at night, it feels like there’s a hair dryer blowing hot air on you.
Now that we’re more experienced adventurers and we slow , we can be more strategic on where we explore. We reserve late to early for outdoor activities, and when the heat sets in, you’ll find us indoors. If you’re visiting in the summer or live here and can’t seem to escape like the other sunbirds, here’s a list of the best indoor activities in Las Vegas.
A big thank you to CORT for sponsoring this post. All opinions are always our own. 25 Fun Indoor Activities in Las Vegas for Scorching Hot Summers and Rainy Days
It is our second year working with CORT, and it has been such an amazing experience being able to move from city to city without having to worry about our furniture.
For the first 4 years, we would either move our own furniture or deal with the stress of buying and selling every year. Once we discovered that we could rent furniture from CORT, it was a game changer.
We order the pieces that we want, they deliver it right to our apartment and help us get it set up. When we’re ready to move, they’ll come pick it up! Check out our home tour here.
Having a comfortable home was extremely important for us moving back to Vegas. Not only will we be spending a lot of time indoors during the summer, we’ve been hosting guests every other week. It’s been nice having a home furnished and decorated to help us relax and host. Read more on the CORT blog

4090 Schiff Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89103, map
Step into a room full of bottles, electronics, VHS tapes, and more armed with bats, bowling pins, and crowbars. Then go to town and DESTROY EVERYTHING. It’s so much fun whether you need to get your aggression out or just try something new.

2. Las Vegas Escape Rooms
We did our first escape room in NYC when we lived there, and then proceeded to do 8 more that winter when it was miserable outside. Now it’s the summer heat we have to worry about.
We’re making our way through all the top rated Las Vegas escape rooms so we can report back on which are the best. So far our favorites are Lost Games Chapter 2 and the BASEMENT.

You can also see comedy shows at Comedy Cellar, More Comedy Clubs and Shows, Mac King Comedy Magic Show, and Popovich Comedy Pet Theater. Plus there are lots of big artists that take up residency in Vegas, including Gwen at Zappos Theater, Janet Jackson at Park Theater, Christina at Zappos Theater, Lady Gaga Park Theater, Celine Dion at the Colosseum, and more.
We’re working on a separate post just about the best shows in Vegas.

Top 5 Affordable Ways to Update your Home

It can sometimes be a little difficult to keep your teenagers entertained on family vacations. Fortunately, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina has something fun for the whole family…including teenagers! This post lists activities specifically for teenagers, but with the exception of 2 or 3 of these things, they were fun for the entire family (even my little nephew who was 1 year & a few months old at the time). Enjoy! And let me know what you would add to this list in the comments.
9 Fun Things To Do in Myrtle Beach With Your Teenagers
*1.) Try Parasailing
My sister-in-law & me trying out parasailing for the first time!
Parasailing was the unanimous favorite for both teenagers (Ryan & Brooke)! I even enjoyed parasailing, and I’m afraid of heights.
Click here for more info on parasailing in Myrtle Beach.
*2.) Go Mini Golfing
A close second for everyone (not just our teenagers) was mini golf. The adults & my nephew enjoyed mini golfing at Jungle Lagoon. However, there are A LOT of cool mini golf courses to choose from in Myrtle Beach. (That just happened to be the course closest to where we were staying.)
*3.) Visit Alligator Adventure
Alligator Adventure in North Myrtle Beach
Alligator Adventure is 15 acres with over 200 different types of animals to see. They also have live shows and feedings. This was another one that was a hit for everyone, and BOTH teenagers enjoyed it.
Click here for more information on Alligator Adventure.
*4.) Hang Out on the Beach
Everyone likes the beach…even teenagers! 😉 From swimming to searching for seashells to just plain relaxing, the beach was a hit for everyone. (There are quite a few different points where you can access the beach if your hotel is not on it. Click here for more info.)
*5.) Go Shopping
Myrtle Beach has no shortage of shopping areas! Everyone really enjoyed Barefoot Landing. It was clean and safe, and no biggie if you want to let your teenagers roam alone. Broadway at the Beach and the Boardwalk also have quite the selection of shops.
*6.) Ride SkyWheel
SkyWheel is a 187-foot tall Ferris wheel in Myrtle Beach! It offers some awesome views of Myrtle Beach, and the carts are a very smooth and comfortable ride. We were able to comfortably fit all 8 of us in one cart too. And as you can see from the photos above, everyone (adults, teenagers & babies) loved this one. We went and wandered the Boardwalk and had a nice oceanside dinner after we were done with our ride. It was a nice way to spend the night with the whole family!
Click here for more info on SkyWheel.
*7.) Spend a Few Hours Exploring Ripley’s Aquarium of Myrtle Beach
OK, so the aquarium was only a hit for one of our teens. Brooke absolutely loved the aquarium, and thought that it was way cool she got to touch a jellyfish and horseshoe crab. She said it was one of the best parts of the trip for her. However, Ryan had zero interest in the aquarium. So, we were split 50/50 on this one.
Click here for more info on the aquarium.
*8.) Ride Some Amusement Park Rides
Family Kingdom has a lot of fun rides and also a water park. We spent a little time here, but the favorite turned out to be The Sling Shot ride which propels two riders more than 300 feet into the air at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Ryan and I enjoyed this one the most (and I’m an adult with a fear of heights). Brooke, however, had zero interest in this. So, we were split 50/50 again on this one.
*9.) See “Pirate Voyage” With Dinner
Full discolure: our teens were not particurarily intersted in this show. However, our cousins and their teenage daughter loved this pirate show and were even asked to particpate in it! So, it might now be for everyone, but it’s still a fun option.
Click here for more info on Pirate Voyage.
Which one of these activities sounds the best to you? And are there any activites you would add to this list? Let me know in the comments!

Hunter McGrady’s All Worthy Collection At QVC Comes In Sizes 0-36
I started following Hunter McGrady on Instagram at the recommendation of my sister. She said McGrady stood out from the other influencers crowding her feed, and it didn’t take long for me to figure out why. Her sunny disposition, daily Stories updates, and of course, some pretty bomb in-feed modeling shots had me stanning her just as hard. Even then, it was easy to see McGrady as more than a model and influencer—she gave off big-time change-maker vibes. It’s exactly this energy that I have no doubt served as fuel for her latest endeavor: Hunter McGrady’s All Worthy Collection, a QVC exclusive line available in sizes 0 to 36. Yes, that’s XXS through 5X. See what I mean when I say this girl is a change-maker?
McGrady got her start in the modeling world at age 16 as a size 2, 6-foot-tall stunner, and made the switch to plus-size modeling at the request of her agency at age 19. With the new role came a change of perspective, too: “I think that was the most transformative few years of my life, because I learned a lot about myself, my mental health, and all of that comes along with it,” says McGrady, who adds that she felt mixed emotions at first.
“I was like, you know what? If this is what modeling is going to be, then I don’t think I can be a part of this. I don’t think that this is something that I can keep up,” she admits. “So through therapy, and learning who I am, what my body can do and where my body’s supposed to be, I was able to slip into what I believe is the body I was meant to be in all along.” As if she needed proof of this, McGrady booked Sports Illustrated two years later, and her career skyrocketed.
QVC.
Fast-forward a few years, and McGrady knew she wanted to branch out beyond modeling. “I have always been passionate about fashion, and I’ve always really wanted to get my feet wet and kind of dive right in and be in the forefront of it. So during this time in late 2018, I started discussing with my team who I could work with, who gets my vision, who understands what I want to do,” she says. Eventually, she landed on QVC—the company has been praised for their inclusive sizing options, with many of their brands available in sizes up to 3X-5X. Of course, McGrady wouldn’t settle for anything less.
McGrady isn’t a fair-weather activist in the slightest—she’s deadset on making positive change happen within the industry. Just last year, she changed up her Fashion Week routine and vowed to only attend and/or model in shows that were diverse and inclusive. Needless to say, her schedule freed up a little too quickly. “Of course, it became a lot more sparse than in prior Fashion Weeks, but that’s a stand that I feel like I have to take in order for any change to be made,” McGrady insists. “I think that the more that we take that stand—and yes, it may suck for the time being, and it may be uncomfortable, and we may miss out on shows that are dreams of ours—but you know, the greater outcome, it’s a more positive world for everybody.”
“
Fashion doesn’t stop at a size 14.
”
With this in mind, it’s easy to see why McGrady landed on “All Worthy” as the name for her own line. “Very few designers have really got onboard with expanding their sizes above an XL or a size 14,” she says, “and they’re missing out on a big customer. They’re missing out on more than half of the population. Fashion doesn’t stop at a size 14.”
McGrady isn’t slowing down her attempts to get the industry to be more inclusive, but in the meantime, she’s throwing her own hat in the ring with All Worthy. In addition to being size-inclusive, there’s a lot to choose from fashion-wise, as well. “A lot of times, people ask me, ‘What is your style?’ And for me, I think that’s what’s so fun about fashion is that you don’t have to stick to a certain style if you don’t want to,” explains McGrady. “You know, one day I wake up and I’m wearing a maxi dress and, you know, a flower crown, and then the next day I’m wearing leather pants and a leather jacket.”
QVC.
To ensure she made the perfect range, McGrady used her 642K Instagram followers as a soundboard. “I had been asking my following for the last year and a half what they wanted, what they were missing, why they wanted it, why they felt it was missing, what kind of person they are, who are they,” she said. “I just said, ‘Hey, listen, drop it in my DM, or drop it in the box. Let me know your dream piece, or let me know what you think isn’t out there or available for you.’”
PSA to anyone looking to launch a successful brand: McGrady’s Insta-approach was the right move. “It was great because I got answers from all different size women as well. So I was really able to compile what I thought was kind of the common denominator, which was quite a few things.” All of which, of course, have made their way into the All Worthy lineup. “We have everything from power suits for the businesswoman, to flirty and floral dresses, to leather jackets, to jeans, to athleisure,” she raves. “I mean, we literally have everything coming, because me as a plus-sized woman, I’m missing everything in my closet.”
QVC.
McGrady is an open book when it comes to modeling, body positivity, inclusivity, and of course, All Worthy. The only thing she won’t tell me? Her most-loved piece from the line. “They’re like my babies, so it’s hard to choose between one!” she insists, and after browsing the clothes myself, I understand why.
To shop All Worthy before it inevitably sells out, check out the QVC site now, and be on the lookout for even more chic drops in the coming months. Take a peek at my faves for summer below.
1. Snake Print Asymmetrical Hem Skirt
QVC.
I’m into snake print year-round, but I especially love this lighter white and tan colorway for summer.
2. Button Front Sleeveless Blazer Dress
QVC.
Pro Tip: According to McGrady, you can also style this piece open and wear it like a long vest.
3. Chiffon Dress with Ladder Lace Insets
QVC.
A surefire staple for every wardrobe. Plus, it comes in black, too!

Vacationing? Don't just nap
Do yoga with a goat, or sharpen your knives, or learn to kayak.
A weekend away can be a time to nap and read, but it can also be a value-added vacation, one where you aren't at home, someone else is doing the cooking, and you're doing something you always wanted to do. Like downward dog with a baby goat on your back. Or kayaking. Beginning stone carving, anyone? Or being able to answer the question "Is that Penstemon cobea I see before me?"
Weekend workshops, where you can work in some learning with your off time, can be found all over Arkansas. Some include lodging, like Heifer Ranch. Others are for campers or day-trippers or just-marrieds who want to add a certain je ne sais quoi to their escape to their honeymoon in Eureka Springs.
Let's start there.
Eureka Springs School of the Arts Eureka Springs
For two decades, the Eureka Springs School of the Arts, now located on 55 acres northwest of Eureka off U.S. Highway 62, has been an arm of the arts scene that defines the quirky mountain town. It offers dozens of different workshops that run from one to five days year-round, including many weekend classes.
A taste of what you can get during an ESSA weekend: In October alone, two-day workshops in felting fibers, silver ring-making, tool sharpening, beginning blacksmithing and plein air watercolor painting were offered (plus a four-day workshop in enamel and fold-forming copper). In November and December, there will be classes in watercolor technique, watercolor greeting cards, beginning stone carving, ceramics and digital photography.
Some instructors, like metal artist Sarah Doremus of Deer Isle, Maine; cowboy boot-maker Lisa Sorrell of Guthrie, Okla.; and steel sculptor Victoria Patti of Arvada, Colo., travel to ESSA to teach. Others, of course, come from Eureka, such as woodworker Doug Stowe, who was a co-founder of ESSA and was named the 2009 Arkansas Living Treasure by the Arkansas Arts Council, and weaver and beader Eleanor Lux, another co-founder and Arkansas Living Treasure.
The myriad metalworking workshops — including beginning blacksmithing, welding and bladesmith classes — fill quickly. ESSA's woodshop, which includes three rooms, recently hosted a "rendezvous" for 48 woodworkers from across the nation, Faith Cleveland of ESSA said.
Cleveland said classes appeal to both career artists and people who just want to try their hand at basketmaking or calligraphy or stained glass or paper mache. She suggested that interested folks sign up early, though it's sometimes possible to get a seat on a day's notice for the impulsive vacationer; class size varies according to medium and instructor. Prices also vary according to medium, from (for example, from previous offerings) $75 for a Saturday tool sharpening class to $130 for a Saturday-Sunday watercolor class to $370 for a Friday-Sunday class in stone carving. You can sign up for classes online at www.essa-art.org; a 2019 course catalog is due out at the end of November.
Arkansas Craft School Mountain View
Everyone knows Mountain View is where you go to hear music, clog and buy little native plants, but it's also a good place to learn to throw pots, make beads, paint big and take advantage of other art classes at the Arkansas Craft School. The school's in a historic building right on the square, within walking distance of lodging (discounted for students), lunching and antiquing and is open year-round. Marketing Manager Aly Dearborn says the staff works with prospective students on customizing workshops as well as making its own schedule of offerings. "How we differentiate ourselves from the Folk Center is that our instructors are geared toward opening people's creative ideas, to make traditional art forms into contemporary pieces of art," Dearborn said. Weekend classes this fall have included an introductory course in glass bead-making with Sage and Tom Holland; digital photography; "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" for people who think they can't draw; bladesmithing; basket-weaving; and a dip into the culinary arts, with Dutch oven cooking with Phyllis "Cooking on the Wild Side" Speer. Dearborn, who came to Mountain View from California, said all sorts of things attract people to Mountain View — the beauty of the Ozarks, fishing in the White River, etc. For her it was the feeling of going backward in time. When she arrived, she said, "I wondered if people were in costume or actually dressed that way. It's a very, very interesting place."
Come as you are; classes run $150 to $350 depending on the course and the materials. Learn more at arkansascraftschool.org.
Arkansas Canoe Club
Two weekends out of the year the Arkansas Canoe Club rents out riverside campgrounds and offers classes in kayaking and canoeing, taught by volunteers who love to paddle and want to show others how to be safe on the water.
The School of Whitewater Paddling, which was called Canoe School in the days before kayaking became king, is the first class of the year; it's held over a weekend in May. The campground at Turner Bend on the Mulberry River (off the Pig Trail, aka state Highway 23) is reserved for students and instructors. Luke Coop, Canoe Club president, said this is a class for folks to learn "the basic skills you need to run a river safely" — strokes, how to read a river, how to catch an eddy in and peel out of it again, how to paddle upstream without fighting the current. Instruction starts Friday night with a talk from the instructor, then it's on to the tamer Little Mulberry or a flat section of the Mulberry on Saturday to start. Students should bring their kayaks, solo canoes or tandem canoes, though the Canoe Club can provide them; Coop said there is also a standup paddleboard class. Coop said new technologies that have made solo canoes "shorter and more playful" have led to a resurgence in canoe popularity.
Though the school is in May, Coop said the weekends can be cold. He remembers one with snow and sleet. Unlikely, but be prepared. Saturday wraps up with a fish fry and live music.
The School of River Paddling is the second week in June on the Spring River. Students camp at the Riverside Resort 11 miles north of Hardy, off U.S. Highway 63. Like the paddling school, lessons are on basic skills; they begin on a lake at Mammoth Spring State Park. The Spring River is not as challenging as the Mulberry, with Class 1 and Class 2 runs, and participants may bring recreational boats not made for white water, such as sit-on-top kayaks.
Registration for schools begins in early March. To take a class, you must be a Canoe Club member ($25 for a family of four). Schools are $80, and include camping fees. Fees go to the Canoe Club's conservation fund and to the purchase of river gauges.
Registration links, detailed class information and requirements and river levels can be found at arkansascanoeclub.com.
Arkansas Native Plant Society
You may have checked off all 415 bird species on the Arkansas State Bird List. Or the 102 (or so) on the dragonfly list. But, unless your name is Theo Witsell*, it's unlikely you'll ever be able to claim you've seen all the native plants.
The Arkansas Native Plant Society, however, can make sure you see lots of them, thank to its field trips organized throughout the year and at its annual meeting.
To familiarize yourself with the Native Plant Society, go to anps.org and click on the link to its newsletter, Claytonia. First question: What is Claytonia when it's not a newsletter? Why, it's those little white flowers that are the first to spring up in your lawn in spring, and which you might call spring beauties. Already you have learned the name of a plant, which means when you see the little flower you will really see it (because the eyes can't see what the mind doesn't know).
What better way to see something rare in June than to accompany the society on a jaunt to learn about glades? That's what the society did earlier this year, when folks joined Ozark glade expert Joan Reynolds on a trip to Devil's Eyebrow Natural Area in Benton County and the North Dam Site Park near the dam on Beaver Lake in Carroll County. Glades are special places, thanks to their geology, and the day-trippers learned about endemic Arkansas bedstraw, daisy fleabane, hairy wild petunias, purple-flowering Ozark calamint, Arkansas beardtongue, Ashe junipers and such. Even the names are intriguing, so imagine the appeal of seeing these special Arkansas plants growing happily in the wild. The online Claytonia newsletter outlines upcoming trips, such as the Nov. 2-4 fall meeting at the Harmony Mountain Retreat on Smith Mountain in Newton County, which includes hiking in Arkansas's wildest county; and Saturday winter tree ID trips — you've always wanted to be able to ID a tree when it doesn't have its leaves on, you know you have — Dec. 8 on Kessler Mountain in Fayetteville and Feb. 16 at Smith Creek Preserve in Newton County.
*Theo Witsell is an ecologist with the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission and has an encyclopedic knowledge of the state's native plants.
Rick's Dive 'n' Travel Center
Little Rock, Hot Springs, destinations abroad
Before you can swim with the fishes — in a good way — you've got to learn how to breathe underwater. You can do just that over a weekend with the instructors of Rick's Dive Shop.
You'll start out, however, on weekdays in Rick's pool at 2323 N. Poplar St. in North Little Rock (though there are special, accelerated classes for out-of-towners one Friday and one Saturday in the year). The weekend fun comes in at Lake Ouachita State Park, where Rick's teaches two-day open-water dives on Saturdays and Sundays. Folks stay at Mountain Pine or Hot Springs Village or even camp, and kids as young as 10 can participate with parents; certification is to 60 feet. Advanced weekend courses include night dives, search and recovery, and some underwater navigation. Weekend classes are limited to 16 divers; two instructors handle eight divers each, but only four are in the water at a time for safety's sake. Rick's provides regulators and tanks, but recommends would-be-water-world explorers bring their own mask, snorkel and fins. Then, once you've earned your flippers, you can accompany Rick's divers to places like Cozumel and Little Cayman Island in the Caribbean. Classes cost $475, which includes classes, pool and open water dives; a fall special reduces the price to $400. Find out about other offerings at ricksdivecenter.com.
Dave's Retreats Perryville
When Dave Lowe retired to Perryville, he decided to volunteer at the Heifer Ranch of Heifer International. One way he helps Heifer is to offer weekend retreats so that the lodge at the ranch can produce income even when Heifer doesn't have events scheduled. Here's what he's learned attracts people to Heifer: quilting and yoga with goats. Hence the thrice-yearly quilter retreats, where quilt-makers gather to work on their creations at personal workstations in a roomy workplace with cutting tables. The quilting retreats include two nights lodging, seven meals in the lodge's dining hall and 24-hour access to the quilting area for folks who like to stitch all night. Coming up: The "Winter's Eve" retreat Nov. 30-Dec. 2, "Lambs-a-poppin' " April 5-7, 2019, which coincides with the birthing of lambs at the ranch; and "Spring Fling," which is also a scrapbooking retreat, May 17-19, 2019. The retreats cost $195 (or come Thursday for an extra $60). The yoga retreats, taught by yoga instructors from Arkansas and Missouri, aren't all asanas: They include classes in meditation, cheesemaking, essential oils, massage and more. The "Goatalicious" session, April 26-28, 2019, will include two slow vinyasa sessions with the baby goats, who'll nibble your hair while you're in child's pose, along with other yoga classes. "Goatastic," May 3-5, 2019, comes with baby goats and gamboling lambs; as does "Goat-A-Rama," May 31-June 2. Yoga retreats are $275 and include two nights in the lodge and six meals (vegetarian and gluten-free are always available in the dining hall, which Lowe promises serves delicious food). There are extras — massages for $40, green tea meditation, goat walking, animal admiring and shopping in the Heifer International Shop. Some folks just come for the weekend to be at the Ouachita Mountain foothills Ranch with the goats, lambs and shoats. Bedrooms may be shared or private. To find out more, go to davesretreats.com.

How to Get a Divorce When you are Struggling Financially
It’s very difficult ending a long-term relationship and even more when doing so will put a toll on your finances. This is particularly true for stay-at-home moms who are financially dependent on their spouses. Divorce can be a costly process, particularly when children are involved. But there are ways to alleviate these financial burdens and strategically plan a successful divorce with the help of a Salt Lake City divorce attorney.
SOME THINGS THAT MAY HELP IN DIVORCE
Let’s start with your joint credit cards and any other department store card. You should cancel them before the divorce takes place. This will avoid a common problem divorcees have in court where a spouse is held responsible for the other going on a shopping spree.
Use joint funds to fix your car, home improvement projects, buying clothes for your children, or any other necessity. It’s best getting a divorce with everything fixed otherwise you will have to argue with your ex about who should cover these expenses.
Open a PO Box where all important correspondence with your attorney is kept safe.
youtube
SAVING MONEY
You can open an account in your name and save some money. You will eventually tell your ex but remember this money can help you pay for your divorce. It’s also helpful to apply for your own credit cards. It will help you establish your credit and help you find financial stability after all joint accounts are canceled. If you need some cash now, you can always borrow money from trusted sources.
MAKE SURE YOU GATHER IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS
Keep copies of your taxes, wills, financial statements, loan applications, insurance, car registration, etc. Even if you are not sure about getting a divorce, have these documents ready. Keeping an eye on your finances may help you get a good settlement. Keep a copy of all records of separate property, including gifts and inheritance. This belongs to you but you must prove is yours.
youtube
ALIMONY AND CHILD SUPPORT
Don’t relinquish your right to spousal support even when you think you don’t deserve it. If you waived your rights, you won’t be able to get them back. Instead of receiving monthly payments consider receiving a lump sum. Remember those monthly payments may never make it to your bank account. Avoid child support fights as it can get very costly. Tell your attorney you will rather follow the local guidelines.
MARITAL PROPERTY
Think about the stuff that you really want to keep. Don’t become greedy. It may be nice to keep your home but it’ll also cost you to maintain it. Think within your budget. Think about your degrees and their value and don’t forget assets such as vacation, flyer miles, subscriptions to magazines, timeshares, and insurances as they also have value that can be shared between both spouses.
HOW DO I PREPARE MY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASE?
When a person has been abused by someone he or she loves and trusts, it may take a great deal of effort to speak out. Often, victims are groomed by the perpetrators to believe that they deserved the abusive behavior. When he or she finally faces that person in court, it can be an intimidating event. There are guidelines that may be helpful to Utah residents who have experienced domestic violence at the hands of someone they care for that may offer them peace of mind.

Contacting any witnesses who may have seen the abuse occur or the injuries that resulted can contribute to a victim’s case, as testimony can be helpful in proving what happened. Any evidence or documentation that shows that abuse took place is important. This could include medical records, court testimony and police reports. Dated photos of injuries, 911-call audio tapes and other records are also relevant. If a victim does not have any of these, his or her testimony is still considered evidence and is very important. Victims may find it beneficial to practice telling what happened prior to being asked to do so in court. It can help calm one’s nerves and help to recall any additional details that might have been forgotten. Being specific about what occurred and focusing on relevant information is crucial. Though it can be an emotional event — and there is nothing wrong with feeling emotional — it is still important to observe courtroom etiquette, such as being on time, being prepared and dressing appropriately. Concentrating on the truth and knowing that it is okay to not know the answer to or understand a question may be reassuring to victims.
There are many other helpful tips for pursuing a domestic violence case. Any Utah residents who are pursuing these types of charges as part of divorce proceedings may benefit from the advice of those who are experienced in this area. It may be difficult, but it can also be the first step to a new future.

Is Krabi really worth it??
As I scroll through posts on Facebook I come across so many travelers asking whether Krabi is worth visiting. Also a lot of people saying that Krabi is such a boring place, definitely worth a skip.
I beg to differ…
Visiting Krabi through a travel agent
This was our second visit to Krabi. The first visit was as a couple on a romantic getaway, staying in a fancy hotel with pre-booked tours that turned out to be so unpleasant in the pouring rain. The tour was pre-booked and come rain or shine, that tour will be done, no cancellations or postponements.
Our first trip to Krabi in rainy weather
Visiting Krabi on a budget, no travel agents
Our second trip was a completely different set-up. Now, we are traveling as a family, on a budget and we are not on holiday. This is our new life, learning about culture and exploring the beautiful places with time on our side.
As luck would have it, it was pouring once again, for days (as budget travellers we visited Thailand in the low season which is the rainy season) so we were quite okay with it. The second the sun stuck its head out, we rushed to our travel agent which we picked out between the lots, and told her today is the day.
30 Minutes later we were picked up in style from our hotel and were taken to a very rural jetty hidden below a bridge next to the side of the road. We were questioning our decision of budget traveling and relying on local contacts. Our boat operator was a very elderly gentleman who only communicated with facial expressions and an occasional thumbs up. After 5 months in Asia, we are masters of communicating with hand gestures.
He examined our reactions and would slow down at all the beautiful spots. He also indicated with a thumbs up or a thumbs down where we were allowed to shoot the drone up into the air. We were flying into the open ocean on this small wooden Thai longtail boat.
Heading into the deep blue sea
It was then, as we passed this mesmerising, gigantic rock protruding from the big wide ocean, that I lost all control and burst into tears. Don’t get me wrong, I have been to the most beautiful places and have seen the most beautiful nature scenes some people can only see on photo’s. I started crying because I realised how privileged I was to be able to see this piece of beauty from mother earth with my own two eyes. To be able to experience the moment…

I realised that my dad might never ever see this. My mother-in-law would appreciate this moment so much, but will she ever get the opportunity to experience this? I cried because I wished so much that I could share this moment with them and all the others that would appreciate this breathtaking picture in front of me.
Krabi will always be close to my heart because it made me realise how privileged I am. I am so glad we gave Krabi a second try and did it on a budget. Our very budget 4-island-trip was worth a million bucks plus we got a lunch with fruit included!!

We stayed in the very clean and comfortable Krabi Heritage Hotel with the best buffet breakfast ever. This was the cheapest hotel we could find in Ao Nang. It is close to restaurants and the beachfront plus it has a pool (which is a must with children).
Having fun in the pool at Krabi Heritage Hotel
Krabi is much cheaper than Phuket and the shops in the walking street (Ao Nang beach) is definitely worth a visit. They have lovely restaurants on the side walks overlooking the beautiful beach.
In a Nutshell
Should I give Krabi a skip? Definitely NO
How long should I spend in Krabi? 2 -3 days – 1 exploring the town and 1 doing the island tour
Which tour should I do? Definitely the 4-island tour
Is Krabi cheaper than Phuket? Definitely, yes
Where should I stay? Ao Nang Beach
How will I get around? Walking. If traveling to the airport or further places, download the Grab App and order an online taxi with set rates.
Should I book a tour online? No, there are a lot of tour operators and you can negotiate the price.
Is Krabi safe to travel with kids or solo? Yes 😉
We made a video of our wonderful time in Krabi, watch it here.
Life lesson learnt -> If you go out like a royal and expect the best you will most probably be disappointed. Go out not expecting anything and you will be rewarded with the best experiences ever.
Safe Travels!
