ok but seriously, dave is not *generally* violent. instead, he tries to push karkat away from others(at first) rather than spill unecessary blood(because that would also attract a lot of attention, duh) it's why in this au there's like....4-5 deaths? and injured maximum! because he may not look like it, but dave can be smart when he needs to be(and striders are known to be particularly ruthless in order to achieve their objectives...).
