SpikeClan: Iciclestar

SpikeClan's first and only leader so far, they are responsible and a good teacher, a skill they've put to good use as they've trained five apprentices, including the cat who is now SpikeClan's deputy.

They were fairly young to be appointed leader (22 moons, not even two years old) but they seem to be handling it well! Except for the fact that RNG hates their family.

Currently, the only still living members are Shardlichen, Iciclestar's granddaughter, her four 5 moon old kits and Iciclestar's mate, Bushchill (who they have no kits with).

Fallenspot and Tulipfleck, Iciclestar's half-Clan sons, passed when they were still young though not before Fallenspot had kits with another Clanmate, Hootnose. Three of the four died as apprentices, one after the other. Ouch.

Tulipfleck became a medicine cat and never had kits, not because he was a med cat RNG just said no. He did have a mate who still lives.

But anyway, Iciclestar's cool, doing a good job as leader.

INTRODUCTION POST

WHAT IS VALLEYCLAN?

Valleyclan is my Clan Generator clan, and a sort of means of storytelling for me (@npdhollyleaf). This is my public clangen blog, so you may see me talking about other ones that I do in my private time. These clans I'm running in the background are not related to Valleyclan unless otherwise stated. These clans can also only be found on my main blog.

WHAT IS THE SETTING FOR VALLEYCLAN?

Valleyclan is set in a fictional version of Yellowstone National Park, and Valleyclan itself is a very distant alternate universe, when, after the battle with the dark forest in the main series, almost every cat was lost and driven away, and the remaining cats travelled for a generation before settling in the park.

The current story of Valleyclan is set many many years past this point, without a trace of any old cats we may know or come to know in the main series. It's a completely clear slate. Most cats within Valleyclan are distant descendants of both Thunderclan and Windclan.

WHO IS THE MAIN CHARACTER?

( MOON 0 - MOON 6)

Currently, our main character is Silverbright, a lonesome and unusually strong deputy. He may be a little awkward but he is good at what he does. He serves under Iciclestar, who was only recently appointed leader after a bount of redcough swept over the clan.

Our temporary main character is Milkpaw, who has been the ears and eyes whilst Silverbright was out of commission. Milkpaw has a very deep and personal connection with the dangers of the dark forest, and is an ambitious and fierce apprentice...

Silverbright has taken back over as our MC, having recovered and is ready to carry the story on his own again, with some new faces to support him this time.

Andy Goldsworthy- Icicle star

Andy Goldsworthy created the “Icicle star” in 1987. Goldsworthy is a sculptural artist, usually creating his sculptures from the environment around him, known as Land-art. He usually creates his sculptures from twigs, leaves, stones, snow and ice. The “Icicle star” is completely made out of ice, fragile and elegant, balancing on a rock on which he sculpted it on. Merging the creative hand of man and utilising nature, Goldsworthy creates a relationship with the world around us, a common theme in most of his work. Goldsworthy had to withstand freezing temperatures, and would have only been able to sculpt in the early mornings and evenings, to avoid the sunlight melting his work. Working with nature, not against it is a clear message I receive from this piece. The process of making this sculpture shows that nature can’t be forced or rushed, suggesting that the practice of making this sculpture was an attempt to understand the unpredictable environment around him. There is also a sense of respect for nature when Goldsworthy created the “Icicle star”, as he would’ve had to have been incredibly patient and gentle when sculpting it, Goldsworthy expressed this: "I have held ice to ice seemingly for ages waiting for it to freeze only to let go and see it drop off. I have enormous respect for the weather." (https://www.theartstory.org/artist/goldsworthy-andy/artworks/#pnt_4). These sorts of attributes (patience and gentleness) remind me of how you treat a loved one, so, through the process of creating the “Icicle star” he shows his love and admiration for the world around him. This suggests that the practice of creating his work is a more effective means of communicating his message than the final outcome. However, the ephemeral quality of his work can support his message also, as there won’t be any trace that the sculpture ever existed (apart from a photograph) showing the relationship he wanted to create between man and nature, where humans and nature can work together, without harming one another in the process.

The shape of the icicle star blends in with the environment around it, making it appear natural or that nature has created this sculpture of its own accord. There is an ethereal quality to the “Icicle star” that wouldn’t have been achieved if it were permanent, or made from man-made materials. This suggests that Goldsworthy wanted this sculpture to appear as if he was never there and wanted you to feel reverence and in awe of nature and its power.

Weaselstar & Friends: The aftermath. (Short animatic)

(Featuring: Weaselstar, Iciclestar, Viperstar, Torrentsta, Emberstar, and FrostSong's corpse.)

The edge of the woods were quiet, and foreboding, as if holding some unholy secret within it. That’s where Weaselstar felt the sting of a sweet, metallic scent hit his nose at full force. So he slowly walked past a tree and some tall grass, then another scent hit him...the scent of something that was once alive. His eyes focused on a lump in an open field of grass and slowly stepped towards it.

“What...What is this..?” He nearly gasped. The lump in the grass was the body of a large, pale, ashy blue she-cat with a soft, messy pelt and a large tail. She was heavily battle scarred and her ears are physically damaged. But the look on her face said it all, she had left this world not that long ago. Weaselstar picked up the pace, his heart pounding, and sat down in front of the unmoving she-cat.

“She’s...She’s gone and-and no one else has been here...” He didn’t recognize the foreign scent, but that didn’t matter to him at the moment. His whole body began to tremble with unbearable grief, and as his eyes widened in horror, a few tears began to run down his face with a shuddering gasp. He gently reached his paw out to her front leg, as if he was hoping she’d get up if he did. Then he realized that she wouldn’t get up, she wouldn’t get up ever again, so he gently slipped his paw away from her and stepped back a bit while choking back his sobs, only to sit back down to mourn the dead she-cat.

“Weaselstar...? Is that you?” Another voice can be heard, very familiar to him. This was Iciclestar, and he saw Weaselstar. “What is-“ He was taken aback when Weaselstar turned around...crying. Weaselstar was never known to be this emotional, at least to him, so he rushed over immediately to see what had happened to his dear friend. “Weaselstar, What-What happened to you?!” He pleads.

“What is going on over here..?” Voices began to chime in, this is the sweet voice of Viperstar.

“It reeks of metal.” This was the eternally annoyed Torrentstar.

“What is that distress I hear?” This was the calmest voice of all, Emberstar. The She-cat trio has arrived, only to be completely shocked by everything unfolding before them.

“I don’t know what happened to her! I-I found her here, and she’s gone! Nobody has come to honor her!” Weaselstar yowled. “She has so many scents on her, and-and-“ He was short of breath. “And not one of them has found her!” He was completely mortified, and won’t be taking this lightly any time soon.He gently reached his paw out to her front leg once more, as if he was wishing, no, begging that she’d get up and batter him a bit if he did...but she didn’t, no matter how long his paw was there.

played a warrior cats scenario on ai dungeon and now i have a story

snuffit is supposed to have red eyes but gfgghjkknb. 

iciclestar and hazelheart are mates and frost, flame, and smoke are their three kits. flamekit is a good boy and smokekit is a little shit, i don’t know about frostkit though. she has never spoken.

silverfire is the first main villain and meadowfire is his daughter who takes over his spot. iciclestar kills meadowfire in battle.

the deputy is the cat who iciclestar names deputy who the ai didn’t give a name.

iciclerain is a riverclan warrior and her mate is hazelheart. the two decide to go hunting. iciclerain gets dragged into the river by the fish she tries to catch and almost drowns, eventually getting help from her wife who was too busy smoking something to notice icicle drowning.

hazelheart then starts to freak out and tells iciclerain to run away with her. iciclerain is confused and hazelheart explains that the silver fire-clan was going to kill them all and they had to get away. iciclerain is a bit annoyed and heads back to camp to get treated by the medicine cat.

the medicine cat, a old man, starts acting strange and asks iciclerain for anti-venom. iciclerain is tired and leaves the medicine den. she chats with one of the warriors and finds out that hazelheart was taken by the silver-fire clan, and that she was the only one who survived an attack. 

iciclerain heads out of camp and finds a cat named kit as well as another cat hovering over an injured hazelheart. furious, iciclerain attacks the cats and sends them running off. hazelheart begs for iciclerain to leave her and get help. she runs off and goes to find help back at camp but ends up meeting a patrol of warriors who don’t recognize her. no matter how many times she repeats her name and how long she’s been in the clan, the cats are confused, one of them even calls her a traitor.

eventually a patrol of her clanmates arrives and agrees to go help hazelheart. iciclerain continues on and runs into a small group of cats led by a silver tabby. the silver tabby introduces himself as silverfire, and says he’s the leader of riverclan. iciclerain insults him and says he’s not the leader of riverclan. this enrages him and he beats the shit out of her. she gets flung at a tree and passes out.

she wakes up to firestar and icecloud standing over her. she asks what happened to her clanmates and hazelheart, but they don’t respond. she follows them back to thunderclan camp where hazelheart is sleeping with three kits. whitestorm is also there i dont know how he’s alive, and also iciclerain’s mentor brohawk died. iciclerain doesn’t question it lays down beside her wife. hazelheart calls iciclerain stupid for almost getting herself killed, but is interupted by firestar who calls iciclerain away for a private conversation

iciclerain begins to led patrols to attack the new leader of “riverclan” meadowfire. silverfire was killed by firestar, so she took his place.  meadowfire taunts iciclerain before running off once her cats are defeated. hazelheart helps iciclerain back to camp. 

the next day cats from another clan are in camp having a small argument with hazelheart. iciclerain snaps at them and they leave. hazelheart tells them to bring back supplies and to be careful, which confuses iciclerain who questions her. the queen responds that the other clan was their ally and they needed to be “civil to each other”. the two chat a bit and hazelheart says she named the three kits frostkit, flamekit, and smokekit. iciclerain heads to her special “lower ranked leaders’ home” to sleep.

iciclerain decides to go out to hunt and ends up getting a bunch of blood on her. she climbs up a tree and finds that a cat has her son. she tries to pursue the kitnapper but suddenly feels ill and falls out of the tree, breaking her leg. iciclerain, about to pass out from pain, is confronted by snuffit, who thinks that icicle killed her sister cinder. (icicle asks if hazelheart is snuffit’s sister since she said “you fooled around with my sister” and snuffit says “no, she’s just really pretty)

icicle takes a quick nap, wakes up, and decides to ask snuffit for help. she says that if snuffit helps her find flamekit, they’ll have their fight. snuffit reluctantly decides to go along with it (snuffit calls iciclerain a “beautiful cat” before following her). they track flamekit down to the thunderpath and into shadowclan territory. he’s passed out on the ground and has to be woken up by icicleran. he has a crushed front paw and a broken back leg.

iciclerain and snuffit take flamekit back to the medicine den. iciclerain explains what happened to hazelheart, who thanks iciclerain for saving him. flamekit wakes up after a nice nap and meows that snuffit “iced [his] cat!” and snuffit can’t deny that she did that.

flamekit reveals that meadowfire has been talking to him and has broken into the nursery. he’s conflicted on whether or not they should kill meadowfire, and leaves the den due to the pressure. iciclerain tells firestar about the nursery infiltration and about flamekit. firestar tries to talk to flamekit, but it doesn’t really work. icicle goes with flamekit to check on his siblings. smokekit admits that she’s still scared of meadowfire.

icicle, hazel, and the kits decide to sleep in icicle’s den. because the nursery wasn't safe. icicle wakes up and goes to speak with firestar. she tells him her plan of drowning meadowfire's cats since the river was going to flood soon. firestar says it wouldn't be a good idea since his cats can't swim and they wouldn't like to learn how to, so icicle gives up on that idea. she asks hazelheart if she'd be willing to fight, and hazel says she'll be there.

icicle wakes up in the middle of the night and goes to see what firestar and his senior warriors are planning. he tells her they've got everything planned out and that she should just keep an eye on things, so she leaves and goes to sit on guard duty. she wakes up around sunhigh and helps her clanmates and thunderclan prepare for battle. snuffit reluctantly agrees to fight alongside them. icicle leads the patrols out. she's with hazelheart and snuffit while the rest of the battle patrols follow behind. they wait by the border until all of meadowfire's patrols, including the one with her on it, goes back into the territory. it's night by the time that happens.

once all the patrols are gone, they attack and start driving meadowfire's cats back. iciclerain manages to catch up with meadowfire and brutally kills her with multiple slashes to the neck. she declares that riverclan has been freed and the cats cheer. blackfoot arrives, says he wants riverclan territory, then leaves. 

iciclerain helps the remaining riverclan cats settle down then announces herself as leader. a ginger tom challenges her, saying that she was inexperienced and with her leg injury she wasn't as good as a warrior as she used to be. iciclerain points out she acted as thunderclan's second deputy and killed meadowfire, so he shuts up. icicle chooses a  "plump she-cat with fluffy ginger and brown fur" as her deputy then goes to get nine lives. a windclan patrol of six watches them travel to the moonstone. iciclerain is blessed with visions of living and dead cats before being fully brought into starclan. she first sees four cats, then more join them .a black she-cat says iciclerain isn’t worthy of being leader, and a gray tom and brown tabby disagree. the black she-cat nips iciclerain’s ear and decides to give her a life. iciclerain sees a vison of a medicine cat who tells her “we’re your family now.” icicle receives her seven lives then her last life from an ancient cat named twilightcloud, who tells her to use her lives to defend her clan and home from any threat, including other clans. he tells her “then i suppose there’s nothing left to do but begin” before she wakes up

the old riverclan medicine cat jokes that she’s been asleep for three days and that she was purring loudly as she slept. icicle storms out and heads back home. she announces that she got her nine lives to her clan then goes to check on hazelheart. she tells her kits she got nine lives and flamekit says “that’s cool, mom”. hazelheart and iciclestar joke about icicle having nine lives before they decide it’s time for a much deserved nap.

iciclestar says “RiverClan is back, and here to stay.” then the story ends

Andy Goldsworthy Icicle Star The multi-pointed Icicle Star (1st Class) was made at Scaur Water, also in Dumfriesshire, by dipping the thick ends of icicles in snow, then water, holding them until they froze together, occasionally using forked sticks as a support until they stuck, then breathing on the sticks first to release them.

MOON EIGHT ☆

Milkpaw is amazed by her strength as she's able to defeat a dog singlehandedly at the camp enterance. She's even more amazing as she doesn't find a single scratch on her, but does wake up the next morning sore. Even still though, it shows her that her night training is truly paying off.

As Finch gets the all clear from Honeyfern, Honeyfern feels like she has knots forming in her stomach and she shifts uncomfortably at the weight that makes her sick in her stomach.

Milkpaw brings Silverbright a piece of prey to help him recover fast and asks how he is, after watching her fight the dog though, Silverbright is more suprised not to see her more boastful. He thinks it's very thoughtful of her to still be so focused on her clan after such a feat.

Birchlead and Iciclestar come to visit Silverbright and share tongues with him. They sit and have a good talk together, which makes Silverbright feel less gloomy and depressed due to having to be immobile. He feels better with company around him.

As Birchleaf leaves the den though, he pulls a bit off the fur on her pelt that fell off towards him and tucks it into his nest, breathing in her scent. He can't decide if he misses when she was an apprentice, due to how proud he is of her now, or if he misses being younger and able to move and run the way he did before he got injured.

Milkpaw looks up to the young warrior, hoping to be as reliable as her with each duty, she watches her help Honeyfur and Silverbright in awe.

As Milkpaw does some training, she catches a small mouse hiding in the rocks nearby and debates eating it, feeling hungry and not wanting to eat stale prey, she quickly gobbles it up. Only thinking of Silverbright after she had already finished the prey, feeling guilty afterwards.

They find another kittypet abandoned, and as they look to eachother, remembering Finch, they think that the brown she-cat might know the pale young tom, taking him back to camp. As soon as Finch lays eyes on him though, she immediately recognizes him and sweeps him into her in a protective hug as she reunites with her son.
